         The inquiry while infuriating when mentioning that dating part, provided Sardonyx with a bit more information on Arrow. Though she could not be a hundred percent sure if this rumor held any truth unless the Sonic alternate confessed such things himself, him desiring a musician’s lifestyle would fail to shock her. Nevertheless, the invasive person’s query was regarded with an annoyed expression.

         “I would help him even if we weren’t dating, which we aren’t,” she claimed, before countenance softened slightly. “Though, I’m not sure if I could give him much assistance in that area. I’m not a professional, when it comes to those sort of things. Even managing some musician might be beyond my expertise.”

Express Holiday Cheer (Or Not): Accepting

         With the holidays rapidly coming closer like ice particles being thrown onto earth by mighty winds, Sardonyx was a bit concerned that she would not have enough money or time to buy ALL of her friends gifts.

         The reason she felt almost overwhelmed by anxiousness towards money this year was due to her paying off certain repairs for apartment. There had been much rainfall this year and while she wasn’t flooded entirely out of her home, many pipes and gutters required a replacement or fixing. Because of these events and her minimum-wage, Sardonyx had to work overtime for three weeks in a row so people might receive gifts this Christmas.

         The bookstore employee had run into Arrow, after finishing one of these prolonged shifts. She expressed appreciation that he opted to meet her a block or two away, so previous situation might be avoided. Exhausted from her busy schedule, the duo eventually walked to Sardonyx’s apartment. As they ambled across street, their conversation soon reached a point where the sentient clone admitted her doubts about getting supplies this year. Then came his statement, causing the ex-bounty hunter to halt in tracks whilst butterflies swirled jovially inside heart.

         “... Hehe, yeah. That was pretty corny,” she concurred through giggles, whilst minor solace soared inside her heart. “But it was also very sweet of you to say. In fact-” Turning she regarded him with a genuinely thankful look, before placing lips upon his cheek gingerly. “-I could say the same thing, about you.”

Ballad of A Bounty Hunter: Accepting

         One thing that certainly added some fun towards Sardonyx’s relationship with Arrow, was their friendly rivalry. Since both hedgehogs had enhanced abilities, it did not take much for them to end up challenging each other. In fact, the sentient clone found this part of their companionship to be quite entertaining. Plus after being forced to hide her true prowess from other individuals for so long, utilizing them unmasked and in front of someone she could trust was nice.

         Today, the duo of hedgehogs were trying to best each other through a small race. This competition was goaded, when they were ambling down a forest pathway. Arrow had presented Sardonyx with the idea that she could assist him with strengthening his team, however mind was quite hesitant on such matters. While she was comfortable showing the Sonic alternate her capabilities in private, displaying them towards others stretched those boundaries. Additionally if azure companion had a Shadow in his zone, she was certain that her similar looks and abilities would raise some red flags for observant freedom fighters.

         Seemingly aware of her conflicting feelings, Arrow changed the subject by challenging the artificial woman to a quick footrace. First one to reach trail’s end (which was about ten miles away) would win. Intrigued by his offer, Sardonyx accepted it. However that blue trickster got ahead first, because he temporarily distracted her by pointing at nothing which prompted eyes to take his attention off of him. Fortunately the sentient clone managed to set sights upon amused male again, which in turn elicited his cocky claim.

         “I will, soon enough,” she declared, as their feet moved faster than what a human’s eyes could process across the mountain. “Besides-” she then gave him a playful smirk. “-There’s always a chance that you’ll slip up, just like last time~”

         With all the time Arrow and Sardonyx had spent together, it was inevitable that she would eventually find out about his musical talents. Truth be told the sentient clone had discovered his skills, when she overheard him practicing one twilight-lit afternoon and mind would not deny that he was quite good. The azure blur’s voice just sounded so gentle and sweet to her triangular ears, that she probably could just fall asleep because of it; not that lips would ever confess such things out loud. Thus lead to her giving him guitar-themed items now.

         Heart danced once she felt his lips place themselves upon her, whilst cheeks turned a light shade of pink. At his expression of gratitude, she twirled one quill and chuckled.

         “Well, I guessed you would probably need a few things for your guitar. Plus I wanted to repay you for the wonderful pendant you gave me last year,” she explained, before revealing the said object worn underneath scarf. At his offer eyes lit up in appreciation, as she took jovial companion’s present gently. When opened Sardonyx’s countenance softened adoringly, portraying an expression towards the azure speedster that suggested something more inside those ruby hues. “Arrow... this is incredible, thank you.” With that spoken she then put one hand over handsome partner’s own, leaned in and kissed him upon his cheekbone letting edges from lips brush against each other briefly. It was a bold gesture on her part for sure, but she figured his great kindness and patience earned him some OTHER reward too. Additionally, she also missed those kisses he gave her. Ephemeral as they were, those actions helped her realize the love she had for him even more.

         “Sorry, I’ve just been... a bit out of it, lately,” she confessed.

         “W-what?” Sardonyx questioned, clearly baffled by his desire. “Why?”

        “Oh my god, why are you here?” Sardonyx muttered, before a groan escaped her vocals and she placed palm over countenance. “Yeah, yeah I lost something happy? As for the whole ‘getting married’ thing... I kind of expected that response from you.”

         When Arrow had suddenly opted to disappear on her like that, sable-coated triangles twitched as paranoid thoughts wondered if gift was not satisfactory. If that truly WAS the case, she could always return them and give him another present instead. Fortunately the sentient clone did not need to fret over such things, because his physical gestures hardly indicated that idea and when he returned bearing wrapped boxes all doubts dispersed. Staring with wide eyes and dilated pupils, she felt touched by his actions and regarded him through an appreciative smile. Once gloved hands took container bestowed upon her and the Sonic alternate gave another person credit for its decor, Sardonyx giggled.

         “Guess we both aren’t professionals when it comes to wrapping, huh?” she asked whilst digits unwrapped her gift. Once the artificial girl did and saw those books, adoration flickered alive inside inquisitive rubies. Taking them in her hands, Sardonyx beamed at Arrow the moment he uttered his confession. “Thank you so much, for this. I’m sure I’ll love reading them.” The cerulean one’s hesitant second along with his query, evoked a raised eye-ridge of her own. “Do you even need to ask a question, like that? Honestly you of all people should know by now that aside from cooking I would trust with anything, Arrow.” Those last words carried a slight teasing tone amidst genuine admission, as there was no harm in having SOME fun with friendly jabs.

’Tis the Season of Giving: Accepting

         Originally, Sardonyx had not planned on giving Arrow his Christmas present early. Like the rest of her dear companions, he would have received it on that merry holiday’s date. However today she had finally finished wrapping all her gifts and the female hedgehog INTENDED to clean up every bit of evidence (interspersed across apartment) after getting lunch, but an unannounced visit from cherished friend swiftly derailed that. Needless to say the duo were still mentally adjusting towards this whole ‘coordinating visits’ thing.

         With all the fun they had traversing city streets, it was easy for Sardonyx to forget about her mess at home. Plus as they headed back there, the sentient clone uttered some vague, cowardly confessions which she in turn regretted immensely. Troubled by her unseen condemnation, the artificial girl did not regard wrapped gifts across room until it was too late. Detecting cheeks starting to bear a red coloring as Arrow entered and saw decorated packages, she felt utterly mortified towards this predicament.

         “Oh no, yo-you weren’t suppose to see this,” she stuttered, before suddenly rushing over and picking up her stuff. “I-I’m sorry, that I-I’ve been so scatter-brained recently. This doesn’t usually happen I swear, t-though if you want to leave I... I wouldn’t blame you.” Voice fell flat on that last part, as him exiting this complex with a stressed note was not exactly something Sardonyx desired. Fortunately the cerulean hedgehog’s sense of chivalry was evoked and she soon found his hand resting upon her wrist whilst ears discovered comfort in that mellifluous offer to help. Finding herself enchanted by those compassionate emeralds once more, she relaxed and muttered a ‘thank you’. Then the two began to work.

         It was Arrow who spotted his present first, though ruby irises were quick to recognize the sealed package. Adorning a frown on tan muzzle as he handled it, she outstretched her arm towards him.

         “Careful, it’s fragile,” Sardonyx cautioned, slowly ambling towards the Sonic alternate before plopping down by his side. Sparing glances betwixt the gift and those saccharine, bonhomie jades for a few moments, she then opted to display her own grateful smile. “But you know what, since you were so kind to assist me... I suppose I’ll give my present to you early this year. Heck, you can even open it now if you’d like.” Once the azure speedster did just that, he found that inside a box were two, glass teacups. One slightly bigger than the other, but mirrored it’s counterpart well. They weren’t colored, nor was either engraved with any breathtaking patterns. However the tips of handles seemed to push into them, creating a heart shape at their bottoms. When green orbs looked at the ex-bounty hunter again, grin had become nervous.

         “I-I know you’re a tea type of person, so when I saw these in the window display I... immediately thought of you. I hope they’re alright.”
