7 Days Tour from Marrakech: An Unforgettable Journey
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Dades Valley Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by our multilingual driver at the airport. The tour from Marrakech began with a scenic drive, revealing the breathtaking landscapes and historical sites, such as the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate and the Valley of the Roses. The beauty of El Kelaa des M’Gouna and Boumalene du Dades, nestled in the Dades Valley, was awe-inspiring. I spent the night in a charming local guesthouse, eagerly anticipating the adventures ahead.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Merzouga via Todra Gorge After a hearty breakfast, I left Boumalene Dades, heading towards Merzouga. The journey through the Berber village of Tinghir and the majestic Todra Gorge was simply stunning. Lunch at Tinjdad or Rissani introduced me to the delicious Berber pizza. Arriving in Merzouga, I embarked on a memorable camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. The evening in the Nomadic camp, with dinner and entertainment around the campfire, was magical.
Day 3: Exploring the Desert of Merzouga A full day exploring the Sahara Desert began with a visit to Khamlia, where I enjoyed the captivating Gnaoua music. Meeting the desert nomads and experiencing the serene Sahara sceneries off-road was truly unique. That night, I slept in Berber tents, deep in the Erg Chebbi dunes, feeling a deep connection to the desert.
Day 4: The Merzouga Desert – Fes Waking up to the desert sunrise was breathtaking. After breakfast, I rode back on my camel, and we began our journey to Fes. The route took us through the picturesque Ziz Valley and the Mid Atlas Mountains. A stop in Azrou allowed me to see North African monkeys in their natural habitat. We arrived in Fes and settled into our Riad, ready to explore this historic city.
Day 5: Explore Fes – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes The day started with a visit to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a fascinating archaeological site. The journey continued to Meknes, an imperial city from the 17th century, where I marveled at the medina’s historical walls and the grand Bab El Mansour gate. Returning to Fes, I reflected on the rich history and culture I had witnessed.
Day 6: Fes – Chefchaouen (Blue City) Driving north through the Rif Mountains, I arrived in Chefchaouen, a town renowned for its stunning blue-tinted houses. The evening was spent wandering its cobbled streets, capturing the beauty of this unique town against the mountainous backdrop. The night in a local Riad was peaceful and refreshing.
Day 7: Chefchaouen – Fes The journey back to Fes marked the end of this incredible 7 Days tour from Marrakech. I felt a sense of fulfillment, having experienced the diverse beauty and culture of Morocco. The drop-off at the airport concluded the trip, leaving me with unforgettable memories and a desire to return to this enchanting country.

Morocco Todra Gorges, also known as Gorges du Toudra or Toudgha Gorges, is located in the High Atlas Mountains, resting between Tinghir and Tamtettoucht. The entire region being awe-inspiring, it is sure you will be astonished by its natural beauty. The scenery  is incredible. A lush green oasis stretched several hundred meters across the valley.  Within the oasis there is a livelihood of farmland, livestock and small villages. Children played together in the fields and on the river bank. It  is nice to find a sense of community in such a desolate location.Visible from as far as Tinghir city, the closer you drive towards Todra Gorges within the canyons, the narrower the road becomes. These enormous rock formations create a natural road passage as narrow as 20 meters in width and 300 meters tall ideal for who love climbing. When you arrive to the top (that is'nt so easy) you flatten out nicely.  You will think that It well worth the climb as the view  is incredible.  You can  see 360 degrees around you , as well as the villages and oasis below.
Notice that all the tours of   Sky morocco trips from Marrakech to the sahara desert or to Fez but also those from Fez or Casablanca include a few hours stop for visit this beautiful scenery  of the moroccan nature take photos and  why not???Try to climbing!!! if you of course book with us a privet tour special for that kind of activity!!

Interesting Things To Do During Morocco Leave Tours
When From the my visit to Morocco, it is immediately the beautiful Moroccan landscapes that come back to brain and the striking architecture of the buildings. I noticed there is now greater than a year a world of per week in southern Morocco, along with a good group of ten persons, which I keep exemplary memories. Right back on my visit to Morocco...
We landed in Marrakech and we joined nomad tours our resort in the early evening. I had a bad night since the space wasn't separated and our neighbors had a party before the end of the night... Simply speaking, it absolutely was Marrakech!
The following day, we took the coach to the city of Ouarzazate. The trail that crosses the string of the Large Atlas by the Tizin-Tichka go is long and twisting however the landscapes are very beautiful.
We then took the trail of "Thousand Kasbahs", situated in the Dades Valley. We then see quite clay villages, ksours, kasbahs, these are the quality buildings of southern Morocco.
We went to the ksar of Ait Benjamin Haddou. It is really a UNESCO-listed prepared community, which has been applied as a group for many well-known films such as for instance Lawrence Darabie, the Mummy and Prince of Persia. This really is one of the locations that struck me the absolute most during my stay in Morocco.
The very next day, we sank in the desert section of Morocco. The landscapes are arid and actually surprising. We often meet wandering dromedaries in a large desert area, some sellers on the sly which come out of nowhere and we uncover the habits of Moroccans. I was surprised to observe that water was still being obtained from a well, that women were cleaning garments in the waterways and that lots of villagers felt to spend the day sitting before their domiciles doing nothing. And the preservation of beef, don't speak about it!
We spent the night time in Tinerhir. In the environmental surroundings, it's possible to discover beautiful side groves. It can be the starting place for the dunes of Merzouga, my many beautiful storage of Morocco. We went at sunset and so the conditions were fairly pleasant. The sunset was beautiful, the images of the sunset in the dunes of Merzouga are visible here.
Usually, during our stay, it absolutely was very hot, frequently 40 °, even though that we visited all through the midst of September. We could actually consult the present conditions and climate in Morocco via Meteovista. We'd seen that it would be great and that the conditions would be "typical" for the season. Meteovista gives weather forecasts for France, Europe, Morocco and the whole world. We can only hope that it will soon be inviting every trip!
The very next day, still underneath the beautiful sun of Morocco, we ended at the Gorges du Todra. It is an all-natural website where in fact the rugged cliffs are quite high and close together. Some climbers rise these surfaces around 300 meters high. A slender way lets you go down these cliffs. A stream moves right by.
We slept in Erfoud, "the capital of the day", then we took the trail to Zagora. We passed through the Draa Valley, wherever prepared villages and oases follow one another. Then we spent the afternoon and the night time in this old caravan town which offered as point for individuals who were heading towards Timbuktu.
The very next day, we took the trail to Ouarzazate: the door of the desert. That Moroccan town is located at the confluence of the valleys of Draa and Dades. The tourists are numerous and the souks don't miss! It can be the city of cinema: many films are opportunity in Ouarzazate and the city hosts popular actors all through filming. We also discovered on website the sets of the movie Asterix and Obelix Goal Cleopatra. It's great to see the cinematography in true to life but it's frustrating to see how abandoned they are and in a sorry state...

With beautiful landscape and containers of mint tea you can settle down for the night in Gorge du Dades. Morning pauses and your Morocco visit takes you to legendary Ait Benhaddou, a'prepared town ', located across the former caravan course involving the Sahara and Marrakech. This can be a UNESCO World Heritage listing, the site have been the placing for a lot of shows including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator and you've sufficient time to examine the winding alleys and admire the great views.

Morocco Active Adventures
After an incredible first weekend in Marrakech, my cousin Marisa and I hit the road.
Tumblr media
No, not by camel, by car!
Tumblr media
We booked a 4-day adventure with Morocco Active Adventures and it ended up being my favorite thing I did all trip!
Youssef, our fabulous guide, picked us up at La Mamounia and took us on the adventure of a lifetime. And because Morocco Active Adventures doesn't combine groups, it was just the three of us, which gave Marisa and me a lot of freedom in deciding what we wanted to do, and when.
During our road trip, while Youssef played local music and Bob Marley, we explored the High Atlas Mountains, stopping at Col du Tichka, the highest point in the country.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we continued into the desert.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And descended into valleys painted with lush greenery, causing us to finally understand the true meaning of an oasis.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The striking reds of the towns were especially gorgeous at sunset.
Tumblr media
And we stopped along the way to sample argan honey, which combines two of the country's most famous products.
Tumblr media
The company provides an itinerary, and Youssef added activities to it to make sure our trip was as incredible as possible.
He took us to the Amridil Kasbah, one of the few kasbahs in Morocco where tourists are allowed to explore the inside.
Tumblr media
My only knowledge of kasbahs is in the context of the song Rock the Casbah, so I was surprised to learn they're essentially fortresses where local leaders used to live. If I were Moroccan I would definitely want to live in a kasbah!
Tumblr media
We did a ton of amazing things during our adventure, so I'll just tell you about my favorites otherwise this post would go on forever!
One night we stopped in Ouarzazate, which is known as the Hollywood of Morocco. Here countless movies and TV shows are filmed, includingLawrence of Arabia,The Mummy, CleopatraandGame of Thrones. We got to explore some of the sets, and thought it was funny how many Egyptian temples had been built for the purposes of filming. Apparently it is cheaper, and safer, to film in Morocco rather than Egypt, so directors decided to bring Egypt to Morocco!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marisa's favorite activity, and one of mine as well, was when Youssef took us hiking in the Dades Valley as the day was finally starting to cool and twilight was settling in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We reached a river and assumed Youssef took us there for the pretty photographs.
Tumblr media
Nope! He had something more adventurous in mind, and led us across, laughing as we tried (successfully, luckily!) not to slip on the rocks.
Tumblr media
It was worth it.
Tumblr media
The area we explored was stunning, and it was fun climbing around while taking in the views. At one point Youssef asked if we hiked often, and I had to laugh. This is nothing like my daily life in Manhattan!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While driving through the desert I had seen stacked rocks everywhere I turned. I asked Youssef about them, and he explained that people do this for luck. It was beautiful to see the desert covered in countless wishes.
Marisa and I tried to make our own stacks of about three rocks each, but Youssef easily beat us with his. Guess your wish will definitely come true, Youssef!
Tumblr media
One of the most special things we did was receive henna tattoos from Youssef's sister. She welcomed us into her home on the edge of the Sahara Desert and gave us beautiful designs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gorgeous, isn't it?
Tumblr media
On another day we walked through the Todra Gorge, where we climbed up to visit a nomadic Berber (the name for native North Africans) familywho was living in one of the caves.
Tumblr media
When we were halfway to the cave the cutest little boy came tearing down the mountain, laughing and running into Youssef's arms, clearly happy to see him.
Tumblr media
It turns out his name is Said (pronounced sigh-ed) and he, and his older brother Abraham, welcomed us into their home while the rest of the family was out tending their goats.
Throughout our Moroccan trip, I was struck by how warm and welcoming the people are. From the staff at the hotels, to Youssef's sister, to this family where we could see every one of their possessions lining the cave, each person we encountered was a gracious host, offering mint tea and making us feel right at home. The hospitality in Morocco is unlike anything I've experienced elsewhere.
Tumblr media
As a child of a nomadic family, Said will likely never receive a formal education, and may never learn how to read and write. But, thanks to Youssef, he does know how to take selfies on Youssef's phone!
Tumblr media
And he recorded this adorable video too.
My absolute favorite activity with Morocco Active Adventures was so fabulous I'm dedicating an entire post to it. So I'll end with my second-favorite activity, which was also completely incredible.
On our last morning, Youssef took us to Ait Ben Haddou before any other tourists arrived. It's one of the most beautiful places in Morocco.
Tumblr media
We admired it from afar.
