i figured you'd like to know ??? that this morning i was feeling weird and dizzy so i was sitting in the bathroom by the toilet (but sexy style) and scrolling to try and get healed by some tumblr post

that's when i found you'd posted some johnny content and so obviously i got so excited that i literally threw up. while it's true i was already just trying not to puke and that was the last straw. but the head rush from realizing Johnny is JustLikeMe™️ did me in for real.

SDJ made me physically ill. surely i'm owed some type of compensation for this 😞

It’s just one of those tolls I have to pay. 😔 I’ll submit a little vom tax in the form of a blurb and we’ll call it even.

“I did it.”

Johnny freezes, halfway turned to close the door behind him, as he flips through all the possible meanings of his friend’s words. It? The it?

“This morning,” Simon adds, curling his hands into loose fists and then relaxing them again. “Just now.”

Suddenly the lack of sleep and the ache in his knee are lost in the cosmos of Johnny’s mind, joining every other unimportant thing to ever not matter. Simon’s looking at him without a hint of boredom or arrogance, or any usual projection of the indestructible Ghost. It’s just his wounded friend staring earnestly at his face, as if he’s desperate for some kind of permission.

Johnny launches himself at him without thought, clasping his friend so tight that he lets out a surprised huff of air. He did it. Holy shit.

“She’s alright, I think,” Simon mumbles, and Johnny is a little shocked to feel his arms coming around him just as firmly. “I mean, I didn’t hurt her.”

“Course you didn’t, you dafty.”

Simon did it. It took years, and an angel of a girlfriend, but he fucking did it. It’s simply indescribable, the burst of hope flaming to life in Johnny’s chest. Good things can happen sometimes out of nowhere. Sometimes, in a random bed in a random city, the universe can push a piece back into place that was missing.

“Just—“ Simon’s voice cracks hard, and he clears his throat conspicuously. “Th-thank you, for coming round. I can’t help her right now. Barely keeping my bloody lid on.”

“Pfft, like I’d miss a chance to have you blubbering on me.” Nevermind that Johnny‘s eyes are currently swimming.

He holds Simon tighter, crushing his bones and trying to make it hurt, the way he needs right now. “That wasn’t a small thing.”
