"i don't have a 'tude'," her hands come up to curl in quotes around tude. it's not that she doesn't believe him necessarily, when he says he's not a wizard, it's just that everything she knows about her professor points to the fact that he kind of does science it up everywhere. there just usually happens to be a lot of cursing while he does it.
she tilts her head to look up, squinting at the clouds. there's no sun to compete with, the clouds take care of that as they block out the sun with their heavy, angry gray. dutifully, andie does pull out her phone and opens the clock app—he is still her professor, after all. she knows clouds, or at least enough to know which ones will or won't produce rain but, "how can you tell how long?" she asks, finger pressing down on the countdown.
“when did you pick up a ‘tude?” it’s not something one hears from andie often, but his lips curve up and there’s almost pride in the expression he wears. she’s come a long way from adding sir and doctor to every sentence. i’m not a fucking wizard, i don’t just… science it up everywhere we go.” he looks around. “you want real science? okay,” pointing towards the sky, “you see those? they’re nimbostratus clouds— rain clouds. we’ve been walking under them for a good bit now, but it’s gonna start raining any minute. i’m willing to bet it’ll be in under ten. time it.”

"am i going to hear any real science facts or are you going to just keep saying whatever?" she took all of her basic science classes and does in fact know what dinosaurs are and that they lived a long time ago.... maybe or maybe not in the very spot that they currently stand. one of the benefits of hanging out with one of the greatest scientific minds on the planet was getting to learn some science. or so andie thought!
@lvebug ♡ for a starter based on something from my trip to the science museum !
“did you know a long time ago a dinosaur stood right there?” mark shrugs, “well it could have. i don’t know if it was right there.”
