Watkins Glenns State Park

When you say New York, most people think about Manhattan, New York City, the Liberty Statue, or the Niagara Falls. But, there is much more than that, like the beautiful Long Island. Personally, I find more worth it the landscape scenery, the small towns, walking in nature than just a regular day in the city.

All the way up in Upstate New York, we can find the finger lakes, including this State park called Watkins Glenns. An overall easy hike in the gorge with beautiful waterfalls. The Trail to the gorge can be too narrow for wheelchairs, also you will also find some stairs. The most challenging thing you will find in the State Park will be the stairs and they are not bad at all.

AuSable Chasm 🏕️

We tent-camped at AuSable Chasm Campground with very little foliage between the campsites. I highly recommend signing up for the lantern tour. It took about an hour and a half to do the full yellow trail in the dark, but the trail was easy (bar for a lot of steps) and we got s’mores as a treat.

We finished all the available trails at AuSable the next morning so we took an afternoon trip to Vermont on the ferry. Well worth the $15 round trip ticket.

Is anyone else just like not close to one or more or all of your grandparents and it just makes you feel bad and guilty. Like there's no feud or estrangement or anything but you just never learned how to really talk to them and now they're 90 years old and it's weird

Was in Niagara Falls on business, which happened to land on the same day of the eclipse. Tourism could have been worse, but it was certainly (dreadfully) packed.

It was cloudy as shit so we actually missed totality, but I had some family elsewhere in the state that got a better view of it (second pic)! Luckily, in classic upstate fashion, the pic I got (top) looks creepy as shit.

Anyways, happy eclipse 2024 New York! I hope everyone stayed safe and DIDNT look directly into the fucking sun.

I have spent the last couple months working my way across the US, and I am now in Ithaca, NY. I have arrived just in time for their local Pride weekend. I have two months in a summer sublet and I need to find longer-term housing by the end of that time.

The house where I was living in Seattle was my parents rental property, and we are selling it. It hit the market June 5th, and we take offers on June 10th. I spent six weeks visiting my sibling and mom in the Midwest, trying to lighten the load for sibling.

The Adirondacks - Kipp Mountain

The Adirondacks are a fan favorite for New York campers. My friend and I took a trip for her birthday and splurged on an AirBnb cabin.

We made our way up to the top of Kipp Mountain, which was an easy to medium level hike with an elevation gain of ~458 feet. The view was absolutely worth the sweat and it was a great way to spend a birthday.
