So, confession exists on Toril. I don't know if it's practiced outside of the Tyrran faith (or the specifics of how it works, beyond "confession and penance" for "stinting in service") but there it is, nevertheless. I can certainly see some faiths utilising it: Helm, Torm, Ilmater, maybe Bane. Bane has a pope of tyanny, so why not.
