In an astounding revelation during the 77th United Nations General Assembly in New York, some 238 NGOs from 75 countries came together and presented an open letter in which they informed that as per estimations one person is dying due to hunger every four seconds.

Approximately as many as 345 million people of the world are now experiencing acute hunger, the number has supposedly more than doubled since 2019.

Around the world, 50 million people are on the brink of starvation in 45 countries.

The conversion of the number of deaths vis a vis seconds was based on the fact that roughly 19,700 people are reported to be dying due to starvation every single day, translating to the figure of a death every four seconds.

During COVID lockdown, the kids of Parkshala and their families were finding it difficult to arrange for ration due to economic reasons. Not just them, their neighbor's, their relatives, even people who were stranded enroute their villages; were all provided with enough ration to last them for 2-4 weeks.

India is home to a quarter of all undernourished people worldwide, making the country a key focus for tackling hunger on a global scale.

According to a survey, there are nearly 195 million undernourished people in India, which is a quarter of the world's hunger burden.

India ranks 71 out of 113 major countries in terms of the food security index 2020.

In the situation of lockdown, the kids of Parkshala and their families were suffering from food scarcity. Team Parkshala identified those in dire need of ration and provided the same, which sufficed the family.
