Lately I've gotten into watching the U.S. Open. I enjoy the mix of male and female athletes from different countries, and I also admire the fact that the tournament is celebrating 50 years of equal pay. So in a way I hate to single it out. That said, the branding has gotten a bit out of control.

✅️ Sascha won his fourth match at the US Open against Nakashima 3-6 6-1 6-2 6-2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was another sensational comeback win for Sascha in Round Four. It was a tough match against an aggressive opponent, but once again, Sascha came from behind; raising his level as the match went on to advance to the quarter-finals.
In the first set, Sascha briefly had a break point at 1-1, but Nakashima held for 2-1. Later at 3-4, an unfortunate game saw Sascha get broken for 3-5, and despite having three chances to break back, Nakashima served the set out 6-3.
But Sascha responded incredibly in set two. After holding his first game, he came out on top of a rally to break for 2-0 and held for 3-0. Amazingly, Sascha then struck a beautiful forehand winner to break again for 4-0 before holding for 5-0. Nakashima won a game for 1-5, allowing Sascha to serve the set out 6-1.
And Sascha started set three just as strongly, earning three break points in Nakashima's opening game. Two were saved, but then with an overhead winner, Sascha broke and held for 2-0. Later at 1-3 on Nakashima's serve, Sascha gained two break points again, and with a beautiful cross-court forehand, he broke again for 4-1 and proceeded to hold for 5-1. Nakashima held for 2-5, and Sascha served the set out 6-2.
In set four, Sascha started with two break points in Nakashima's first game, but he held serve. Sascha didn't give up though, holding for 1-1 before earning three break points in Nakashima's second game, and with a stunning drop volley, Sascha broke for 2-1 and then held for 3-1. And he only got stronger from there, securing a break point in Nakashima's next game too, and struck a backhand down the line to break again for 4-1 before holding for 5-1. Nakashima held for 2-5, allowing Sascha to serve the match out to seal the victory 3-6 6-1 6-2 6-2.
That was such a sensational performance from Sascha. He was able to continually raise his game as the match progressed, and incredibly won 100% of points behind his first serve in sets two and three. Sascha now moves into the quarter-finals, where he will face Fritz. Let's go, Sascha 🔥
