Commissioned be @ remnants_and_renegades on IG
A "Sniper of the Arcadian Mudmen slowly peaking through a the parapet of the trench to prepare to eliminate a careless enemy trooper across no man's land. The Arcadian Mudmen are dedicated trench warfare specialists and pride themselves in their skill without needless slaughter like their Krieger counterparts."
i realize she's more like taking a moment to breathe here on the picture, but this is what the commissioner wrote when i requested a blurb of text for the caption :3

Me to my wife: Hey let's try bedroom role play!
Her: Ooooh what kind.
Me: well I was thinking the inherit eroticism of two soldiers in a trench the night before a push into no man's land.
Her: Omg, yes! You and me are just two soldiers on the front line away from our family. Most of our squad is young men and women barely adults who probably won't live to see 22. We take comfort in each other's presence as the oldest in the squad.
Me: I don't wana die alone and unloved, what are we fighting for are we machines. *slumps into her shoulders*
Her: *gently caresses my face* You're not a machine, not to me.

They apparently have some facetious Germans opposite Givenchy now. One of them shouted across to the Welsh Regt. “Is there anyone there from Swansea?” Several answered “Yes”, whereupon he hurled a hand grenade across, with the remark – “Then you can divide that among you, you blighters.”
From the diary of Brigadier-General Cecil Lowther, 20/1/1915.

I feel like trenches/pits are the warfare equivalent of simple machines. You just dig a hole and shoot out of it. Timeless

miku fun fact #8
miku is good for morale. if troops in world war 2 listened to miku, they might have done a better job at trench warfare.

Inktober/day19 - Ridge
In trench warfare there are 2 kind of people - those, who develop constant anxiety and state of alert, and those who learn to "read" the sounds of bullets, artillery and grenades and being able to know how far a bullet would go, grenade land or artillery drop.
Apparently people in trench warfare in modern wars (currently largest takes place in Ukraine) can even detect what kind (brand) heavy artillery and bomb was launched, when it lands and where it lands and there are soldiers, who do not even blink. I guess the same was true to the old wars. I like to believe that Spencer would sit there and even smirk counting seconds, when something lands and shrugging things off while waiting for the barrage to end.
