Okay, well I could pick SO many so I'll break up some of my favourites just at random. I do have others, but these are the ones I can think of.

1. Kazuma Kiryu: Professional Voice Actor (Kiwami 2)

A sidestory about Kiryu acting in a BL Game. Largely meta due to Kiryu’s vioce actor, Kuroda Takaya having a decently large presence in the genre. Unbelievably second-hand cringe in the best way and unbearably funny.

2. Goro Majima Infiltrates a Cult (Yakuza 0)

A sidestory that has an extremely infamous hip-thrusting gifset. Majima invades a cult to rescue a girl. It’s hysterical and has some of the most meme-worthy moments in the series. MUNANCHO (Hip Thrusting)

3. Nishitani Homare’s Ground Crab Attack (Yakuza 0)

“I’M ROCK HARD BUDDY OLD PAL” Rest in peace Fujiwara Keiji, rest in peace Nishitani, that’s just unbeatable. (The way he says it is half the moment, tbh) But I have linked one of his most hilarious fight moves instead.

4. NANCY-CHAN THE CRUSTACEAN DAMNATION (Yakuza 7)

After you get nancy the lobster as a PoundMate (Yes that is what they’re called) she can be summoned, and her summoning is glorious.

5.  Shinada Tatsuo Is Not Subtle (Yakuza 5)

What happens when you put one himbo baseball player turned adult magazine writer on a train with a yakuza undercover? Hilarity. I love Shinada I love Daigo, this bit’s a match made in heaven.

oohhh girl another one: TOP FIVE PERIOD DRAMAS (film or tv!!)

Oh that's such a tough fucking GET. but ok. These are my unbiased faves (I will unfortunately be excluding the terror from the running, because it should go without saying that it inherently takes the No. 1 slot- not just for Jared Harris reasons, but for historical accuracy and for Gothic Lit soulmateness), and for the sake of sanity I'm gonna put a cap at period past 100 years (because otherwise it would be way harder for me to choose with stuff like the shape of water in the running- I'm strictly going with the definition of taking place 100 years in the past or more and with the emphasis on fictionalization. ok. lets go)

5. Sense and Sensibility Oh I fucking love Alan Rickman. I always have. I also love Kate Winslett and this adaptation has some lovely nuance to it that I just adore. It's not as overt in its conflict as Pride and Prejudice is but it's beautiful in its nuance regardless. Just a lovely fucking time. 4. 1917 Look. I'm a Tolkien hoe. I was and still am obsessed with LOTR and the beauty and destruction that it embodies as a work conversant with Tolkien's own war trauma. I love that. I have also seen a fair number of war movies, but without a doubt, I don't think a single one of them has been conversant in the beauty and horror of war that inspired writers like Tolkien and C.S. Lewis and T.S. Elliot like this. None of them match this. Not to mention the masterclass in editing and long-form shot filmmaking this is. It's fucking beautiful top to bottom, and the fucking night window scene still gives me fucking chills. 3.BBC Jane Eyre Amazingly I only watched this one a couple weeks ago. Previously I did not know about it, but since I've been on a period drama bender for the sake of my own writing research, this one came up, and I really couldn't pass up the opportunity to see Toby Stevens as Mr. Rochester. I did not think that anything could blow the more recent adaptation of Jane Eyre out of the water, but color me surprised, Toby blew Mr. Fassbender out of the water, and color me surprised!!! I fucking ADORED Ruth Wilson in this as well!!! Honestly she and Toby had so much chemistry that it literally is still making me go insane thinking about it and I have to stop. Honestly I'm having a hard time placing this at no. 3 it really should be no. 2 but I have to have some principal about this.

2. 2005 P&P Look. I hate to be a basic hoe but this movie has always fucking bewitched me body and soul. Is it the best technical adaptation of Jane Austen? Probably not. Is it the most cinematically artful and do I also love Kiera Knightly and Matthew McFadyen? yeah. Also the hand touch is literally the most important maneuver ever committed to film and I will die by that. The way that has provided inspiration enough for an entire lifetime is unquestionably vital.

1. Black Sails What can I say? I love boat boys. Especially Pirates. I have been a pirate bitch since POTC2 came out and I saw it in Las Vegas with my dad, but what Black Sails did for me as a combination not just of literary characters but actual historical pirates, and the queerness among them, is literally fundamental to me as a person. Not to mention the writing poetic, poignant, and god tier, with an extremely socialist bent that I think gets missed in a lot of pirate media that really just... makes my fucking heart sing. Also Toby Stevens covered in blood Hot. And it's FUCKING FUNNY!!! Will never forget that painting debate scene ever in my life. She has it all and I will never forget her ever in my life.

1. Kevin - let’s be real with the amount of obsession all the other characters have with Kevin, he’s gotta be an 11/10

2. Jeremy - even Neil comments on Jeremy’s smile. that’s gotta mean something

3. Jean - tall, dark, handsome, mysterious and tragic with a French accent. cmon. he’s tied with Jeremy, if not higher but I had to put him here considering this is according to the general public. but in an ideal world Jeremy is like tied with Neil

4. Allison - she’s just so classically a 2000s it-girl, i had to put her here

5. Neil - okay i KNOW Neil has got to be pulling, but I can’t in good conscience rank Neil higher than Allison or Jean and since Kevin is just objectively going to be #1, Neil is #5. but I’m disappointed in this rank as well, Neil is really hot

6. Matt - i feel like Matt gets overlooked but he’s definitely banging

7. Renee - Jean loses his thought midsentence to stare at her at the banquet

8. Cat - we have no physical description of her, but Jean’s nervous energy around her in a bikini is enough for me

9. Laila - ideally Cat would be significantly hotter than Laila but i have to rank her higher than Nicky

10. Nicky - he’s an average cutie. i feel like he’s just got smooth, clear skin

11. Dan - she’s got killer thighs i just know, but she’s an average gal and i love her for it

12. Andrew - okay keeping in mind that this is public opinion, the twins are last. but just know i’m mad about it. i actually think that both twins are more attractive than the others might say (others meaning everyone who is not Neil. Neil finds Andrew hot and goes on about it. at length.) i think Andrew’s above average, but i can’t rank him higher than Dan

13. Aaron - yes I’m ranking him differently than Andrew bc I imagine Andrew’s got some very punk rock piercings/aesthetics and i feel like that earns him some points. but i want it to be known that i do not identify as an Aaron-hater

new rgg fans will never know what they missed back in ye olden days of the fandom (like, 2019), doubly so now that scott strichart's deleted his twitter and jon riesenbach's privated. twitter was so fucking fun and then whatever-the-hell at sega of america happened and caused a fucking snowball effect and now we have shitass localization and resulting discourse that makes every release nigh unbearable, misinformation, confusion, people complaining about "bad writing/mischaracterization" not realizing it's because of the shitass english loc, i'm sitting here like jesus christ these loc bitches massacred saejima's character voice, people will never see him as he was intended, as original yakuza 5 localization Correctly painted him, and now they're coming for kiryu. god help us. we used to be a proper fandom. before everyone was subjected to the remastered localizations and shaky eng characterization. no one had even played yakuza 3-5, people still called morning glory "sunshine" orphanage, kiryu was our only protagonist and people still called him "boring", it was beautiful...

anyway gaiden uses affective instead of effective because the current localization team is full of careless dumbasses who don't give a fuck about ensuring they're using correct english grammar and this is not an isolated incident
