-dahlia has been friends with you ever since you started visiting the Mondstadt church and you've made his heart skip a beat right then and there

-so he knew he was in love

-but he didn't know how to tell you

-nevermind, he wouldn't even tell you-if venti didn't interfere

-venti already knew that dahlia was in love with you, by his actions around you

-so he wanted to help

-he told him what to do, and even made up a whole church meeting about how Barbatos(definitely not venti himself) thought that the two of you would be perfect.

-rosaria knew it from the start, despite dahlia once trying to tell her about his crush but she just said that she knew.

-so the two of them set up that church meeting one day, hoping you would come, too.

-and that day finally came.

-every seat was taken/reserved, just the one next to dahlia was empty.

-he was sweating.

-he was nervous.

-he could hear his own heartbeat in the silence of the church.

-and you finally arrived.

-walking up to his seat

-"hey dahlia, can i sit here?" you didn't even look around to see if there were any other seats available.

-"oh, hey [name], sure!" his heart beating even faster.

-the two of you waited, until it started.

-venti raised his hand, wanting to say something to everyone.

-so he got up and stood at the altar(help is it called an altar)

-"so, dear people of Mondstadt, including me. i have some predictions and assumptions about you. if you'll allow me, i'll start." (their literal god without them knowing lmao)

-"first, you, rosaria, will have a friend of yours who will go through a really happy time." and rosaria nodded, with a wink, letting him know that it's according to plan.

-"jean, you will finally get a break from work. it will last at least a week." she nodded to him.

-"barbara, Barbatos will answer your prayers soon." and like that, he called out different people, until he got to dahlia and you.

-"and finally, the two of you... hmm... i see the two of you walking hand in hand out of this church! a couple! a perfect pair! don't you all agree? it's almost as if Barbatos himself made the two of you for eachother!" he said confidently, looking at everyone to confirm.

-everyone nodded and your face was covered in a red hue, hiding your face behind your hands, embarrassed.

-"u-uhm..." dahlia was blushing hard, also hiding his face, but behind his hat that he took off.

-"so, are the two of you gonna get together? i feel like both of you have feelings towards eachother! i need you guys to confirm, so i know do i make more assumptions like this or not!" venti was so impatient to see you say yes to him, knowing you told venti himself that you liked dahlia.

-"y-you first..." dahlia stuttered, looking at you with his eyes peeking above the hat.

-"uhm... a-as long as he wants to, i-i'll accept it..." you said as you blushed even more, but still trying to stay calm while looking back at venti.

-"so, dahlia, do you want to?" venti winked at him discreetly.

-"i-i do..." he said as he looked up at venti, trying to be confident, but failed miserably.

-"great, then it's settled! that's all i had to say, thank you all for coming to this church meeting just because of me! may Barbatos bless you all! have a good day everyone!" he exclaimed as he went back to rosaria to talk with her a bit, wanting to spy on the two of you, waiting for everyone to leave.

-"s-so... a-are we together now?" you whispered to him, still feeling embarrassed.

-"i-if you want to... i-i really do like you..." he looked down, feeling shy.

-"i accept, dahlia." you took his hand and kissed his cheek, leading him out of the church.

-he was flabbergasted.

-that whole moment, and you accepting his confession.

-that kiss...

Russian winter holidays' features - part 1. New Year vs. Christmas

Today it's almost Christmas, so everybody is preparing to meet winter holidays joyfully and bright. If you were interested in how do we do it in Russia, get ready to my new holiday column. If you were not - I bet you already are, so see above)))

The first thing I'm gonna tell you of Russian winter holidays, is that we DO NOT celebrate Christmas) More precisely, we do, but it works on truly religious people only. Others may just send each other a greeting pic including angels, candles, baby Jesus and other strictly religious motifs. Btw, the Orthodox Chrismas is not on December 25th, but on January 7th (except some few particular Orthodox Churches; why is it so is a very complicated issue, and I won't touch it here).

It was not always like this: before the Great October Revolution Christmas was the most favourite and popular holiday in Russia, as in the Western world. But as you maybe have known, the Bolsheviks were fighting against religion and everything about it. So Christmas was forbidden. First years after the Revolution Russians had no winter holydays at all, for they was declared as a "bourgeois relic"; but then it was decided that people need some days to celebrate as the whole country. So New Year was assigned to this. Today we of course have no religious persecution at all, but everybody still consider Christmas a specific Orthodox holiday, but New Year is the most beloved and magical holiday of the year for every family in Russia.

While Western people celebrate New Year as one big common party, most Russians think it's a family holiday. Exception are young people without their own family, but even they usually meet New Year indoors, at someone's home or rented place, in the company of close friends. What you see at picture above is so called новогодние гуляния [novogodniye gulyaniya] - which may be translated as "a New Year promenade" and "a New Year festival" at the same time. It's also a common tradition: when the midnight has passed by and the New Year has come, we stay home for a little more time, and then go out for walk to launch some fireworks, meet some friends on streets, play with our kids outdoors (sledging is a popular activity, for example).

Though today some Russians start preferring to meet the New Year midnight outdoors (especially in big cities), they still are few comparing to the vast majority of those who celebrates it in a traditional way.

I'm a Muslim and today is a holiday it's Eid :) I love these holidays like in general everyone meets and having fun in their houses/hometowns it's really beautiful but now there is corona virus and we all in our houses... so it's just a little bit boring actually too boring but anyway so this is how it is :) Btw i really want to know some information about your religion actually! What are you guys doing ( i obviously know Christmas/Easter holidays or churches) but i want to know about like what's the difference between Catholic and Orthodox or what's the rituals? I hope you still had a good time, I love holidays that bring loved ones together <3 I don’t know a lot about the differences between catholic and protestant apart from where protestantism came from. I know we don’t have the same public holidays for example today is a bank holiday in Belgium but I know it’s not in the UK :) I think weddings and funerals might be different but I’m not sure.

Rituals I don’t follow many, there’s some Fridays we can’t eat meat, believer tend to pray every day. I know my grandmother prays every morning and probably every evening. 

Normally Lent is supposed to have kind of the same “restrictions” as Ramadan but nowadays in Belgium, for people who practice religion, they just try to be nice, to share their food and wealth and that’s it...

We celebrate Orthodox Christmas on January the 7th here, so New Year comes first and it's my birthday on January 1st so I'm still figuring out what do to :') ur plans sound fun tho.
