Not all bees are passive, chill little bugs. I lived in Arizona where there were bee's that behaved more like hornets and were aggressive or easily provoked. Also, a lot of bee stings are accidental. My sister was stung AS A TODDLER bc she went to brush what she thought was a fly out of her hair.

It's apparently more normal, according to this poll, to have BEEN stung by bee's so the weirdo attitude about people who have seems pretty misplaced here.

Tldr: not all bees are passive chill bugs, and there are lots of ways to have been stung by a bee.

(saying this all as someone who hasn't been stung by either a bee or a hornet ever in my life. It's actually rly easy to be part of the minority in this particular case and not be fucking weird about it)
