i think i’m on episode 7 or 8! i really really really really really like terry. he’s so…i don’t really have the words to describe him that well bc i’m still learning his character but i do like him a lot and he is my emo bf. bruce wayne could still get it even at his rickety age idc. victor fries (mr. freeze) is one of my fave dc villains, he’s always evil but also teeter tottering on “morally grey” and i like that so i’m so glad he made an appearance this early on in the show. i also really liked inque’s powers and she was really kicking ass like when terry was like “i take it u don’t like water” or smth and then she went into the grout around the pool and blew up the pool or whatever ??? like yeah i was rooting for terry but i have to give credit where credit is due. i also really like the jokerz, not as actual villains but its funny that this random gang of people think they’re evil fr when they could never ever touch the actual jokers level of villainy and even bruce acknowledges that when him and terry are taking them down together. i also really like the art style, it reminds of some of my absolute fave cartoons and it has that late 90s early 2000’s graininess that’s so nostalgic. literally about to get a little snacky snack and then tune in again

i adore the art style, im pretty sure its bcos the same guys that worked on batman: the animated series went on to create batman beyond, so it's familiar. also they and the justice league (2001) + unlimited are a part of the dini-verse/timm-verse which is paul dini and bruce timm who've worked on those projects and exist on one plane.

HAD ONE MORE THOUGHT that probably i should have put at the start - this fic relies on some underlying knowledge of the thanatos/sisyphus mythos so here it is if you're not familiar with it.

here we go o muses back me up on this lil ditty:

SO IN LIFE king sisyphus was a real dick! he was a deceitful and avaricious king & he often murdered his royal houseguests just to show that he could (this violated xenia, a super important tradition of greek hospitality)(side note the patron god of xenia is ZEUS)

(second side note: at this same time ol' dingle-brained sisyphus also knew that zeus was sleeping with an asopid named aegina. aegina had a river god dad named asopus. sisyphus wanted asopus to run part of his river through sisyphus's kingdom for commerce reasons, so he told asopus where to find his daughter, and after asopus went & got his daughter back he gave sisyphus the tributary in thanks. this also made zeus SUPER MAD for obvious philandering reasons)

so anyway zeus got pretty ticked at his general dickishness and told thanatos to go kill sisyphus and take him to hell jail. thanatos shows up with death's chains & sisyphus is all "oh man idk death i'm just a lil guy and kinda scared maybe if you show me how these chains worked i'd feel better about going with you uwu" and thanatos the ever-dimwitted was like "yes this is a solid plan" and locked himself in his own chains to prove ????

and instead of letting him out like he promised sisyphus was like "deuces guy" and left thanatos chained up for a few days/a couple months/a couple years depending on the tradition you read.

and not really anyone cared at all that mortals quit dying for a long time, except for OUR HERO ARES GOD OF WAR. ares got pretty annoyed that he couldn't win any battles bc the enemy wouldn't bite it, so he went and unlocked thanatos (unclear if everyone knew where he was and was just like whatever not our problem, or if ares had to actually go look for him) and people started dying again, the end

(alternate ending: actually lots of people cared that the sick & infirm couldn't die and they couldn't make animal sacrifices to the gods and everyone yelled at sisyphus to knock it off but he refused. and then either he caved and let thanatos out of the closet or ares showed up anyway. but that one's less funny)

BUT WAIT the myth has a second half (less relevant to the fic though)! so anyway thanatos was SUPER bummed about all this as anyone would be really, and also kinda embarrassed bc whoops you have one job dude. and he went to finally kill sisyphus (and also to deal with the whole "zeus still wants this guy dead" thing).

but! lo and behold our serpent-wise sisyphus told his wife right before thanatos showed up: hey wife, forget that i murdered our guests all the time and when thanatos kills me, don't do any of the death rituals that are important in our culture. no body prep, no mourning, no coins for charon, just chuck my body right out the door like a bad limp lettuce leaf. and she's like GOT IT dick and he's like what and she's like what

anyway so thanatos shows up and reaps him but good and his wife just throws the corpse out with the dishwater and the chamber pots or whatever

so then dead sisyphus gets to hades and is like OH BUT LORD HADES AND QUEEN PERSEPHONE, HOW CAN I EVER REST EASY IF MY HATEFUL WIFE DID NOT CRY OVER MY DEAD BODY AND PUT COINS IN MY MOUTH THE WAY ALL PROPER WIVES WHO LOVE THEIR MURDERING HUSBANDS SHOULD and (depending on the myth but usually) persephone is like ಥ﹏ಥ aaw you poor guy, aw jeez what can we do i feel so bad for him and she SENDS HIM BACK TO LIFE (thanatos: ಠ╭╮ಠ)

and sisyphus lives like another twenty-fifty years before dying of old age, and then thanatos FINALLY gets hold of him for good and zeus sentences him to the boulder thing for being just the tooliest tool to ever live

(alternate ending to the second myth: persephone doesn't actually restore him to life, she just lets his spirit go back up, and in that story sisyphus just goes and yells at his wife forever until hermes literally drags the dude back to hell. real hero sisyphus's wife, am i right or am i right)

i'll give you three guesses as to whom tisiphone punishes & the first two don't count

thanatos technically is the god of gentle death; his sister ker is the god of violent death (there's a very late-game conversation in hades where than explains he wasn't there when achilles died, and likely wouldn't have been anyway given his warrior lifestyle; however, there are also multiple conversations where he mentions working really closely with ares & being on the battlefield, and the game definitely treats him like Death so ehhh ~~handwave~~) (sometimes ker is also multiple sister death-spirits rather than just one, and in that case they're called the keres, but they're universally violent, crazed, and hated [and always ladies, read into that what you will])

lyssa is another daughter of nyx and is the personification of mad rage, frenzy, and rabies

phobos and deimos are two of ares's kids (with aphrodite). phobos is fear/terror (phobia) and dread, and deimos is panic, flight, & rout. they often went into battle with ares and either drew or drove his chariot. warriors often painted their likenesses on their shields to scare their enemies

ixion is the name of the "sun" of the underworld, and is actually a super wicked king who was bound to a flaming wheel for all eternity for his crimes so that's a fun lil easter egg for us gamers (original mythos has him as the sun itself, but later he got retconned to hell only and helios took over all above-ground sun jobs) (for the record: ixion stiffed his father-in-law on ixion's wife's bride-price when they got married and when FIL came to claim it in person, ixion murdered FIL by throwing him on hot coals [no mention ever made of wife's reaction to this, natch]. this obvs violated xenia as well as a BUNCH of other laws and bc everyone hated him now, no one would perform the rituals that would cleanse him of his guilt - except ZEUS. who for SOME REASON takes pity on this dude wandering unloved all by himself & does the rituals for him & brings him UP TO OLYMPUS TO EAT WITH THE GODS. so this bombastically moronic dude ixion decides he loves hera at this feast and is gonna seduce her. his host's wife. violating just about every other law of hospitality he hasn't already squished. so zeus catches wind of this and sends a cloud in hera's shape for him to bang instead. and because we live where we live the cloud gets pregnant [and her name is now nephele] and she gives birth to a malformed baby named centaurus [who later goes and lives in a mountain and has sex with mares and fathers the first centaurs] & so ixion becomes the grandfather of the centaur race. oh and also hermes makes ixion repeat "benefactors deserve respect" like ten thousand times before ixion gets bound to the flaming wheel for all eternity. and then later zeus sleeps with ixion's original wife dia bc why not at this point and she has a son named peirithous who becomes king of the lapinths, so i guess everyone wins. except ixion's father-in-law who is still dead.)

Back for Day 8-Blind date (how the hell do u guys come up with good title fics i struggle so bad lol). I wasn’t really going anywhere with this one, but when i read all of the others and saw how fun the fics were, i decided to finish this one.

also for Summertime and Fresh Strawberries, I deliberately left it blank but I can’t hold onto the secret bc two people were curious as to what happened, so i’ll let the rest of you know that aelin and rowan decided to keep summer and be a cute little family, bc im a sucker for happy endings lol (unless its angst, it’s safe to assume that all my rowaelin fics have happy endings bc they’ve all ready been thru so much and even in alt fics i need them to be happy lmao)

Aelin was a confident woman, something that she was proud of. But that didn't mean that there weren't times she didn't feel self-conscious or awkward and full of doubt.

Because right now, all those negative feelings were swimming inside of her.

And those feelings were just magnified today, especially since she had gotten fired only a few hours beforehand. It was utterly unexpected, she had never received any prior warnings, and while she was a fighter, Aelin didn't feel like stepping into the ring for this one. Not when her boss was a demon from hell that made life unbearable and she had to physically push herself into entering the work building.

Aelin told herself that it was for the best. She was miserable there and hated working in an office typing up the worlds most boring reports and working in a space that was entirely too drab.

But she wasn't looking forward to job hunting. Aelin was aware that she could ask her friends for favours, but if Aelin did something wrong, she didn't want it reflected back onto whoever helped her.

And she was still a little peeved over the damned argument she had online again with that haughty prick on Goodreads. Aelin wasn't sure why those arguments kept going, but each time she would post a review, White Tailed Hawk would respond, telling her that she read the book wrong and this and that and blah blah blah.

Aelin repaid the favour each time, telling him how he was wrong and he had no reading comprehension skills. And on and on it went until Aelin or whoever the fuck that guy was went back to their own lives.

Depressingly, it was the most fun she had some days.

Shaking her head, Aelin forced herself to think of the now and not of her shitty day. Still she sighed, not quite believing that she had agreed to this blind date. Couldn't believe that she had let Aedion convince her it was a good idea.

Aelin had said no at first, after Aedion had voiced his offer, and her cousin left it at that. But days went past, and he would bring up the topic of Rowan, about the things he had said that day, how his dry sense of humour took some time to get used to but once you figured it out, he was actually pretty funny, how he had finished a project perfectly and this and that.

But it got to her, annoyingly. So the other day when he was helping her out with some housework that was a two person job, Aelin told him to set up this date. Aedion cheered as if it was the best thing he had ever heard, telling her how she and Rowan were the perfect match for each other.

Aelin rolled her eyes, but didn't say anything of the assessment.

She had only agreed because it was getting frustrating being asked at every family event if she was dating someone, when she was going to give her parents grandchildren (that question pissed her off the most, as if Aelin was nothing but a birthing machine and that was all Aelin could contribute to society), and who was going to look after her when she was old if she didn't have children (because apparently carers didn't exist).

Aelin was also lonely—she could entertain herself just fine, but she did like the idea of coming home and talking to someone that could respond. She loved Fleetfoot and her enthusiasm when Aelin came home, but human companionship would be nice.

But Aelin didn't have high-hopes for this date because the universe liked to kick Aelin's ass from time to time, she suspected that they were going to hate each other.

Taking a deep breath, Aelin got out of her car, smoothed down her romper and went inside the restaurant, head held high.

Rowan couldn't believe that he was about to go on a blind date. That Aedion had convinced him to go out with his younger cousin. He hadn't dated anyone since Lyria and he knew that his dating skills were going to be rusty as hell. He had been with Lyria since they were nineteen, married at 23 and divorced at 31; he had been single for the last two years.

It had been...fine, a little strange, after being with someone for so long to find himself a bachelor. Rowan never thought that he would apart from Lyria, but their relationship had just faded. Long before the divorce, it had been more like a housemate relationship than a marriage. He wasn't surprised when his ex-wife had come home after work with divorce papers. He had only stared at the paperwork for an hour before he signed the forms. Truthfully, Rowan was just glad that he was still on good terms with Lyria, that they could still talk to one another from time to time.

Rowan had almost called her earlier today, to ask how the hell dates went, but felt that it would have been crossing some invisible line, so he didn't call and instead had Googled the questions instead.

They didn't really help.

Rowan drummed his fingers against the steering wheel, telling himself that if things went wrong, then it wasn't the end of the world. That if he had to be a bachelor for the rest of his life, then that was fine. He had plenty of ways of keeping himself busy—he had a good career, a nice house, plenty of books to read and to argue online about them with.

He had one earlier today, actually, with Queen of Wildfire about a new release that Rowan had eagerly read within days of its release. And once again, he ended up with an argument with the woman about the messages and themes within the book.

It was stupid, he knew, to be at his age and to be fighting online with a stranger, but something about this woman just had his fingers flying over the keyboard.

Some days he looked forward to it, as embarrassing as that was to admit. He didn't really want to look into himself to figure out what it all meant.

Eyes drifting to the dashboard, Rowan realised that his date was about to start. Popping a mint into his mouth and smoothing out his clothes, Rowan took a deep breath and left the car and went to his first date in twelve years.

Hopefully, it wouldn't be too bad.

“Do you, by any chance, go under the name of Queen of Wildfire?”

Aelin blinked, and then blinked again, and once the pieces fell into place, she knew right then and there that the universe really hated her. She let out a harsh laugh, the sound echoing throughout the space. Aelin wasn't really sure what to say, because it was true what he said; it had never been insulting, but ending up on a date with the man she had regularly arguments with was just...she had no words, other then, “It really is a stupid name.” She took a sip of her wine, needing to do something other than wanting to bang her head against the table.

“I couldn't think of anything else to write.” And it wasn't also his favourite animal, he had told her that earlier.

They lapsed back into the awkward silence of earlier, both picking at their food.

But Aelin didn't want this night to go to waste. “It'd be stupid to let something as small as this get in the way of whatever this could be,” Aelin said, deciding to be blunt.

Rowan nodded. “It would be. Although I have to be honest, you really have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to Call of the Wild Winds.”

Aelin just about stormed off when she noticed his playful smile, his eyes sparkling bright. Laughing, Aelin threw a bread-roll at his handsome face, and once he caught it and split it in half for them to share, they went back to their earlier conversation.

And when Rowan walked her to her apartment door and kissed her on the cheek goodnight with a promise to text her later, Aelin couldn't help herself by telling him that all his opinions sucked and that he had no idea what he was talking about—all with a big smile on her face as Rowan sputtered as she closed the door on his face.

They spent the rest of the night texting, and all of Aelin's earlier woes faded away. And she looked forward to tomorrow, despite the horror of job hunting. Maybe the universe will finally let things turn around for the better for her.

Aelin went to sleep with a smile on her face, all because of White Tailed Hawk.

And on the other side of the city, Rowan also fell asleep with a smile on his face.

actually gonna compile my current thoughts; slight spoilers below cut

- having watched all the main series i can say RANPO IS MY #1 FAVE!!!!! i love how whenever i see him i go "yayyy it's ranpo yippeeee" and i love how i share this trait with a vast amount of the cast himself included. watching this show @ the same time as reading wha and loving beldarut sm is making me realize how much i love characters who are immensely powerful and also a consummate silly billy. hes everything i wanna be. i too want a government salary & to spend it on snacks

- i also love kunikida sm he feels like if riddle & trey were one guy. i am ALSO so glad he has not been killed yet. every kunikida-centric episode felt like the anime equivalent of a dead wife flashback and i kept bracing for him to die at the end of every season 💀

- i'm also grateful for the rlly small amount of mcd in general; i feel like esp in earlier seasons that would have given the story an emotional tone that it wasn't rlly set up to handle well

- i feel bad saying this but i wish i liked atsushi more 😭 i do like him plenty but it's not proportional to his prominence in the show which is prob why i didn't like season 1 v much; he felt like a p generic shonen protag

- ALSO feel bad saying this but i did not like nikolai's voice acting v much (i watched the japanese; he might be great in the dub idk). the character slew so hard but his voice esp the more maniacal lines felt deficient in pussy 😭💔

- i kept thinking fyodor had azul's voice actor. even after i looked it up and found that they r different.

- thank you so much kyouka for being one of the only well written female characters esp earlier before yosano got her character development. i want justice for higuchi especially 😭

- maybe this is controversial but i loved all the suicide jokes. dazai felt like a rlly honest portrayal of what it's like being suicidal p much all one's life & the fact that hating yourself/wanting to die absolutely does not always translate to gloom & self-effacement

- on that note and . this might come out mean but since it is such a "he's just like me fr. oh that is absolutely not a good thing"-heavy story i do think it requires some sophistication & critical thinking that is not handed to u outright. like you might watch it & think "these characters feel the same way i do & are dangerously unwell; i must be fucking insane" however they do rlly drill in the "yet we all keep living & working anyway", so i think viewers who feel this way r meant to ask themselves what sanity is, how much of the world secretly feels unwell & othered, etc. instead of jumping right to "i am irredeemable and/or clinically disturbed"

- anyway lmfao. i was shook to find out the manga didn't have [much] more 😭 v happy to see more fyodor lore though; i'm excited for the next installment!!

- speaking of fyodor!! i like him. as i mentioned dostoevsky is one of my fav writers irl and i do like the character! i liked the references (teases being a demon/possessed; nikolai as a kirillov parallel was hilarious; i do wonder if the references to fyodor being "underground" was meant to reference notes from underground which would. also be funny bc the proverbial underground is absolutely not what that book is about lmfao)

- conflicted bc i enjoyed scenes with mori (he has crowley's va!!!) howsoever i will be popping the biggest bottles when he dies, hopefully as gruesomely as possible 🙏

- akutagawa was just funny after a while im so sorry dude 😭 he was broody & secretive for five minutes and afterward was like "I HAVE DADDY ISSUES" every single time he appeared

Let’s start with stills we know which ep they’re from:

1. Episode 2x01 So obviously our mans is courting someone. Most speculate this isn’t Edwina and is another girl—which idk skin tone, might just be the lighting (?)—but my thought is that he might have a montage or a few scenes courting other girls in the ton and being bored out of his mind/deeming them inadequate to be his wife. He looks kinda antsy and ready to leave here to me so this fits. Also, note the room behind them? Lady Danburys home had a lot of roses and warm pinks and this cool lavender doesn’t totally fit that vibe. Could very easily be not Edwina.

2. Episode 2x01

Our cutie at Lady Ds ball. Every time we see her in this outfit she seems nervous/ in awe. She seems vaguely pleased here—probably going to dance or getting attention. She deserves 🥰

3. 2x03 Kate having tea. Lots of tea time this season what with ep 1 Anthony tea and ep 4 Kathony + Edwina tea. Thoughts here I actually really like that wig?? Even tho it’s tight? Also new color it’s nice on her but the dress itself I don’t love but she can make anything work. Her cute lil flower too 🥺

4. 2x03 hdshshfakfnffnsj 😩😮‍💨🥴 we all know how I feel abt a certain Mary sharma (I’m free on Thursday when I am free). With our new crumbs of her always love how they do her hair. She’s GLOWING I’m DROOLING also this might be same tea as with Kate? Lightings different looks like she’s maybe under a tent so I doubt it. I’d also say this looks like Aubrey hall in the background? But eh who knows.

5. Episode 2x02 Thots here: Anthony looks so old here I want him to keep away from Edwina jfc 😖. Other people have noted same Kate dress and hair as other still with her in purple with the velvet thingy over it when her and Ed are in the garden. Same episode too, but obvi no velvet or gloves. Also Edwina’s a different dress so who knows the timeline of this shit? Edwina changes (bc she gets wet? Actually kinda doubt that) maybe just to see him. She looks happy to see him, poor little girl. Kate looks surprisingly not feral here? Maybe she’s keeping her anger close to the best this ep.

6. Episode 2x01 more fuckin tea. Clearly before or after the Graham Norton clip that takes place before the debut. Still wondering how they play into Lw and Kathony drama and when Lady D and QC became such good homies??

7. Episode 2x04 heh heh heh. Wow they’re so subtle. First off. Obsessed. Whores in the wilderness unchaperoned. I’ve seen so many great theories and parallels abt this and deadmund and maybe including flashbacks. To answer my one ask question, his hand is pretty much over hers on the gun and it’s big and the position is awkward and I love it. She’s trying so hard to stay cool. She has her jaunty cap and i like it but it’s so weird from the angle and the lighting on her is also weird oh well. Funny that she insisted on coming along and still he’s teaching her how to shoot. What’s the truth? Are either of em even good at it 😂? If that hat wasn’t there he’d be so close but I love the look on his face so much and how the hat hits his forehead. Still don’t believe they’re having this moment whilst killing animals? Hopefully it’s a target? Anyway this has gotta happen before the pink hall that episode or at least I hope. The tension is real and I’m gonna be in so much pain 😩

Now moving on to stills where we don’t *know* the episode: I think it’s more likely most of these are from early on but they did give us a pen/el still from ep 7 so anything’s possible?

8. Who knows when this is from but this is so interesting to me. She looks mad like but maybe also disappointed? Like she’ll tell you (Anthony) off but be sad about it. The wigs actually pretty okay and doesn’t distract from the look in her eyes. The sun on her is magnificent. Simones face is so dynamic and interesting in different shadows and angles and I’m always so intrigued by a new dimension of her gorgeousness.

9. Clearly not a still but you got the idea. It goes with that scene in the trailer obviously. Have seen some speculation maybe it’s from those leaked pap pics of Anthony running after kate in the rain bc of her dark purple but his waist coat doesn’t match so it isn’t quite right. Maybe the pic of Simone in dark dark purple on the horse is still connected tho? I think it’s easy to believe this is a later episode bc of Kate and Anthony placement next to each other. Also how they’re the emo kids of the pic in their dark isolated colors. Whatever the bridgertons are looking at in the street (in front of Aubrey hall I think) must involve kathony Ed Mary and Lady D or else they wouldn’t be in the pic? But if kathony are married and At AH then why is everyone else fuckin there? Is this drama about Kathony or abt Edwina’s journey and they’re all interfering? Fascinating. They usually cut jealousy scenes to a minimum or don't show at all even in pure BL genre, like Lan Wangji (esp Wen Ning thing) or Shen Wei being extremely possessive, bc it can't be explained by brotherhood in their opinion. It's also the reason it was cut from Ultimate. So why here suddenly add scenes like that and with such heavy focus is a mystery, since you've said it's not in the novel. It's not even reasonable jealousy, its just straight up "cant touch my piece of pizza" stuff

Hmm... never thought about it. LOL in the anime the kept LZ being jealous of Wen Ning though xD. Idk in "Sleuth of the Ming" they made a whole open scene out of it. What I've noticed is that their censorship always works differently, and some choices never cease to surprise me, as in who decides what's ok and whats not, bc idk... I understand that stuff like dying for each other, touching, staring can be by many seen as a touching bromance technically, I mean I've seen many ppl watching even cencored BL and being completely oblivious. But there are sometimes some stuff included, that I personally do not get how it can be interpreted as "close friends" and how it passed the censorship. And I do not mean here sucking out poisons, for example (bc I would've done this for my close friends if they were in danger haha).

I'm just judging from the point of view of like me and my sister being very close to the point of a person on the street asking us if we're lesbians lmao (I like still don't get where it came from, hand holding?xD). As I've said before, I guess I see why some ppl who don't have close friends or family would consider some closeness as romantic (since both close bros and couple do some things like spooning for example), but anyone who like saw idk bts members or have a super close bestie or sibling might know that hugging each other to sleep, wearing their clothes or feeding them a jelly bean if their hands are busy doesn't always mean you have any romance there going on, speaking from my expierience, so I just have different view on this "gay stuff vs bro stuff". (like to me the afterlife pingxie scene is actually gayer than any touching they've done, bc like why he didn't see his family or iron triangle whole if they all bros). It's just there are a LOOOT of things that can be indeed considered bro stuff technically (they might not be, but they could), but there is some stuff that just cannot be explained by we're bros, thats all. And this kind of jealousy is one of them.

Bc like a bit of jealousy like "my bestie wanted to go skating with their lover instead of me, so I'm upset we don't spend as much time together" can exist, but if you have problems with someone hitting on your friend, checking him out or even touching him and you don't want them to date anybody, that's another thing, that just means you wanna date them. Wu Xie can hug Fatty to sleep and they can slap each other's butts like me and my sis, but he'd never be jealous seeing someone flirting with him or smth. You know what I mean here? So I get why it's in most situations considered not censorship appropriate and it's cut.

But the most funny thing about the "him being unreasonably jealous" added scenes is the fact that like they actually chose to make him being absurdly jealous. Bc for example in the first version of the scene, Pangzi was trying to dance with Xiaoge, thats why Wu Xie got all worked up:

it was at least somewhat understandable. But in the actual scene from the drama they went and for some reason changed it. Xiaoge pulled Pangzi in, bc he lost direction while being blind, but it was still Pangzi who got reprimanded for that at the end lmao

so it just became even more hilarious, bc Pangzi just grazed him, he didn't even do anything, so I was like will this guy just calm the fuck down, but no, he kept going lolz

I'm just surprised about some of their deliberate choices I guess. So I agree, weird it is.

But Reboot in general was weird, when it comes to the rollercoaster of their choices lmao. They uncensored, then used censorship to uncensor, then censored to cover, its just the first time I saw this weird kind of censorship, like as long as girls are there, jokes like "I won't be able to get it up on a woman" are okay??????? Idk they were just extremely out there almost each episode with all kinds of stuff, that by the end I was like... well, at this point its already pointless. I guess it was just the first time, I've seen it made in such weird way and actually used in a smart way fitted with the character and no just for the sake of it. Adding a scene when he accidentally calls his in their opinion potential love interest his bro's name is actually uncensoring, not censoring, you know what I mean? (since we in fact didn't move anywhere near this realization in the book). Same as what many noticed about them openly making fun of censorship and "out of nowhere appeared feelings and how its not love and whats wrong with idolization if u don't know a person" after NPSS interviews and how it only made everyone fall for what pingxie have more. So it was like... I actually for the first time enjoyed it. It was a pretty genius way of showing Wu Xie's weird internal struggles from that book, which I thought were not possible to show. Bc as you know he's hilariously oblivious there about all of it and same as WWX for example do not even consider such possibility. But I think it's just bc it's not actual BL BL, it's a story where a couple naturally accidentaly came together and turned out to be both guys (even tho one was initially intende to be a girl xD), so its in general complicated. Wu Xie is just borderline lost at this point xD. It's like "Yeah, I want him... What do you mean as in dating? Whats that?". Or like:

- Want a wife?

- No, I want Xiaoge.

- As in you're gay?

- What's a gay?

That's basically how he rolls.

But I do love jealous Wu Xie, I think it's hilarious here, he's like somehow complitely okay with how idiotic he looks and that's very sweet haha.

P.P.S. all in all I really do not get how their censorship works in general at all. Like why Wangxian wedding bows were allowed, but other stuff don't? Or like I get like complimenting your bestie "you look hot in this" or "you're so pretty" or smth, but there's a difference between this and saying that their "lips look sweet"... like thats already another thing entirely. So at times I watch cdramas like... huh??? Maybe it depends on who checks it idk
