Sweet Tooth
Sabrina Carpenter x Reader
Word Count: 1,006 words
Trigger Warnings: a bunch of fluff, they shower together but nothing happens
Request & Synopsis: "fluffy fic with Sabrina after one of her tours" - A cute fic in which Sabrina just needs after show cuddles with her girlfriend.
Requests are: open.
(Y/n) let the security escort her backstage early due to it apparently being Sabrina's request during a quick break she had for a quick change. She followed them, waving at a few fans who were recording her. Getting used to the filming and photos was still a little strange, but she has handled it with grace. She wasn't in the industry, so initially she didn't know how to handle it, but Sabrina just told her to 'smile and wave.' This was a trick she also learned from the Penguins from Madagascar, a movie she constantly convinced Sabrina to watch with her on the tour bus or when they inhabited her apartment.
Getting to the back, she was able to watch the last few moments of Sabrina singing her song of the summer, Espresso. (Y/n) smiled proudly, nose scrunching in excitement as she watched Sabrina enter. Sabrina gently fell into her girlfriend's arms and she held her close. "You did so good," she said softly, not caring that Sabrina was sweaty. She cared more about the way her girlfriend's eyes lit up at the praise she had received. Sabrina deserved it though. She was absolutely outstanding, and (Y/n) was absolutely enthralled with her singing and her performance. She always gave it her all on stage and that was evident. (Y/n) didn't understand why Sabrina even looked her way, but she felt incredibly lucky that she did. Even more so that their feelings were mutual.
Sabrina tightened her hold on her girlfriend slightly. "Is it too much to request a shower and some cuddles?" She asked with a sweet smile. She pressed her dark-pink painted lips against her girlfriend's hoping to sweeten the deal. (Y/n) knew what she was doing, but she didn't mind. Sabrina didn't have to convince her though. She was always down to cuddle Sabrina. After she nodded, she led (Y/n) to the shower. "Can you please wash my hair for me, too? I'm too tired and I just want your touch."
The question made (Y/n) smile brighter as she agreed. She gently massaged and worked the shampoo into her girlfriend's hair, the conditioner following. Sabrina couldn't help but appreciate the intimacy of the action. After the shower, they dressed in their after show clothes that they packed. Meaning, just some 'Short n Sweet' sweatshirts and sweatpants that they had specially made. (Y/n) always adorned and promoted Sabrina's merch. Since the start of their relationship, (Y/n) became Sabrina's biggest fan. She wanted to make sure the world knew that she was Sabrina Carpenter's girlfriend, and that she was very proud over the fact. Sabrina was her favorite person, and she was so insanely into her.
Sabrina, in turn, didn't know what she would do without (Y/n). They met at a coffee shop when she was dating Joshua Bassett. After the entire thing blew up, the coffee shop became her haven away from all of the paparazzi since (Y/n) kicked out anyone trying to take pictures of her. She didn't exactly know who Sabrina was before that since she wasn't chronically online. But when she got to know Sabrina, her mind finally clicked and she realized that she was indeed Maya Hart from Girl Meets World, a show she indulged in whenever she was sick and staying home from school. Now, the two were closer than ever. (Y/n) never let the fame of Sabrina get to her. She instead, stepped back and let Sabrina get all the praise that she felt her girlfriend deserved.
Once (Y/n) graduated college, being a couple years younger than Sabrina, she was able to find a remote job in able to travel with Sabrina. This made it to where (Y/n) would do all of her work when she woke up and then would meet Sabrina before her show so she knew where to sit. It was a repetitive cycle the two got used to and loved. Normally, she would stay and finish the show, trying to beat the crowd from overwhelming her with questions as she made her way backstage, but tonight Sabrina had wanted to come back early. Whatever Sabrina wanted, she would deliver. Now, she was delivering cuddles to her girlfriend in her tour bus.
As (Y/n) held Sabrina as the two were curled in each other's arms, watching Alice in Wonderland. "You know, you kind of look like Alice." She teased, with a giant grin. The words caused Sabrina to gasp playfully, her blue eyes met (Y/n)'s and she shook her head. "How come you see any blonde cartoon character, you say I look like them. There are some distances between Alice and I. Besides, with that wide grin of yours, you look just like the Cheshire Cat, you know?" She claimed with playful defiance as her fingers tickled her girlfriend playfully.
(Y/n) didn't allow this to deter her playfulness, grinning wider, a laugh falling from her lips as she caught Sabrina's hands. "Oh, please," she said, pressing a kiss to her lips, "you're blonde, short, blue-eyed, and you have bangs. You two even wear your bangs the same, parted in the middle." She concluded, only to be ultimately silenced by her girlfriend's later. Her eyes fluttered close as she reciprocated the kiss happily. It was an obvious ploy to get her to stop talking, though the two knew it was playful.
"Okay, whatever, Cheshire, I look like Alice." She shook her head, moving back to being cuddled by her girlfriend. She enjoyed their playful banter. As the movie continued, Sabrina noted that (Y/n)'s breathing became a bit slower. This was a big giveaway that she had fallen asleep. Turning over, she saw this to be true. She kissed (Y/n)'s forehead softly before turning off the movie and nuzzling deeper into the girl's arms. Out of all the people in the world, Sabrina would be forever grateful that she met (Y/n), the girl who understood her the most.

i'm good!! i just got back from being out of town (hence the delay). i'm glad that you have some breathing room — rest is very important, and am so happy to see that you'll be spending it with your family! i have been looping is it new years yet? by sabrina carpenter too — just very much excited for 2025. what are your favorite maisie songs? how did you get into her music?
ohhh i hope u enjoyed your time out of town~ also fruitcake my beloved!!! <333
i’m currently cautiously optimistic for 2025, which is a good place for me to be at, but i also kinda wanna be channeling more of the energy that maisie and sab seem to be radiating these days haha
so about maisie, it’s been so long that i actually don’t remember how exactly i first came across her!! but i do know that my very first song of hers was favourite ex because it fitted a ship that i really liked at the time, so i saved it to my vidding playlist; but i also just loved her voice and songwriting so much, so i went on to listen to her other songs, and ever since then she’s been one of the few artists who i would from time to time loop their entire discography for
as for my favourite songs of hers, i’ve thought abt it for a bit and realised that they can probably be categorised this way:
you signed up for this, the good witch: i just really love how personal she can feel - this is true of most of her music, but especially true for the two album openers/title tracks; i’ve said this before to my friends in a joking way but i’m also dead serious: i feel like i’m playing catch up with maisie. she’s a bit older than me, so when she was singing about being twenty (“i am twenty and probably upset right now”), i was 19 soon to turn 20. same with tgw, but i actually didn’t connect as well with the album at first. there was a distinct shift sometime during the past year when i could feel that i was connecting with tgw (the track) more than ysuft, and i was like “wow i’ve finally caught up with maisie (!!)”; anyway i looooove the energy of both songs so much and they’re my absolute jams forever
the list: this song came out during a time in my life when i really needed it, so it’s really special to me; i can relate to every single line viscerally and i constantly go through periods in my life where i just loop it singularly; we don’t see this maisie all that much anymore and i do miss her a bit, but i’m also so happy for her that she’s in a better place in her life now (at least that we can tell from the music she’s putting out)
place we were made, brooklyn: i don’t really know how to describe these songs other than that they are saturated with love; iirc she wrote both of them about ellen so it makes a lot of sense! i don’t have any siblings but i can relate to that immense feeling of love towards my friends, my home, a period of time in my life... this kind of feeling also recurs in some of her other songs like stay young, the band and i, the last one... and i just really really love how she captures that feeling in a song!!!
i'm trying (not friends): this song is just everything i love about maisie’s soundscape and lyricwriting all rolled into one song!!! she’s just sooo fun god i love this girl so much
i can go on and on but i’ll stop here, it’s already become a bit of an indodump hahaha - thanks for giving me an opportunity to go off about her 🫶

Honeymoon Fades (A CS Fic)
CS oneshot that provides a snippet into their married life after 30 years together. Includes fluff, feels, and cuteness. Short, sweet, and the perfect weekend treat. Find on FF here and AO3 Here.
A/N: Hey all! This is a short drabble based on the song ‘Honeymon Fades’ by Sabrina Carpenter. This story picks up on Emma and Killian when they’re children are all grown and they’ve been together nearly 30 years. Spoiler alert – the cuteness perseveres after all their years together, and in some ways they’re like honeymooners, still as in love and happy as they were just post-wedding. Hope you enjoy the cuteness and thanks so much for reading!
The silence in this house was still a foreign thing to Emma. After so many years of raising her family, and decades of craziness that she wouldn’t trade for anything, quiet moments still felt like a real commodity. They used to be so few and far between, and every time they found them, she and Killian made use of them. They lived a life of constant motion, and they were always go-go-go, but it kept things fresh and interesting. They were never lacking for love and excitement around here, at least they never used to be.
Now, however, things were different. Take this morning for example. It was 9:00 and she was only just rolling out of bed. She was off today from the station, where she was beginning to take a number of steps back. Her brother Neal had been working with her and her Dad for years, deciding he wanted to join the family business, and he was now the newly elected town sheriff. Emma still worked at the station and ran point on many aspects of Storybrooke’s response team, but even with that, there was never enough to do. She ‘worked’ from 9-5 Monday to Friday, mostly just conferring with the townspeople on what needs they had and what the town could do for them. And then the weekends she had off, totally free, never any hiccups. Just two whole days of… well, whatever the hell she wanted.
Despite the fact that this free-weekend thing was normal (it had been about a year since she agreed to the schedule shift), she was still awed by the premise. When the kids were still home, nearly every moment that she wasn’t working was dedicated to them, to their games, and plays and homework and lives. But now their nest was empty. The kids all had their own worlds and agendas, and weekends were becoming a time when Emma and Killian could genuinely relax.
This morning was the perfect example. After waking up bright and early in her husband’s arms, and after their heated exchange of what Killian always called ‘good morning pleasantries’ (code for sex that had no right to be that hot after how long they’d been together), Emma had fallen back asleep while Killian rested only briefly before heading out to go for a sail or run some errand or another. No matter how much quiet they had, her husband was still an early riser. No amount of downtime would change that. But for Emma a lazy morning was a luxury, one that she soaked in and cherished after years of never having them.
As she showered and got dressed, Emma found herself smiling, knowing that she was a lucky woman in every possible way. She was blessed with healthy kids, a network of supportive friends and family, and a true love who was always in her corner. The sun was shining in Storybrooke, and the summer heat was already beginning to climb. She had a whole host of possible paths to wander today. She could go for a hike, or tend to the garden out back. She could drive up the coast and explore the world beyond, or she could take it easy and relax, luxuriating in this happy, stress-free moment that they currently had going. But whatever she did, Emma knew she’d have company for the ride.
Moving downstairs Emma caught the scent of bacon and coffee in the air, she closed her eyes and hummed out a sound of contentment. Spoiled – that was what she was, and as she walked into the kitchen and saw Killian flipping some blueberry pancakes she leaned against the doorway and bit her lip. Damn, nearly thirty years together, and he was still too hot to handle. Standing there, making her breakfast with that mix of salt and pepper in his hair, her pirate was still fit and ready for whatever fight might come their way. There were more laugh lines etched upon his skin, and he might move just a touch slower than he did back in the early days, but the light in his blue eyes that sparked when he caught sight of her still pierced down to her soul, and the sexy grin of his made her heart skip a beat.
“Finally, the lady wakens,” he joked and Emma shook her head and smiled as she kissed him quickly and then moved around him to pour herself a cup of coffee.
“Sounds like someone missed me.”
“You know how I feel about being away from you, Swan.” The growl in his voice sent a thrill of anticipation down her spine. Damn this man and his sexiness. Thirty years wasn’t enough to get used to him, and some days she still felt like a honeymooner as opposed to a couple long settled and established.
“You’re not a fan as I recall,” she teased and she let out a yelp when he swatted at her ass with the hard metal of his hook. She blushed in spite of herself, thinking of all the times that particular appendage had made itself known before. She could tell from his deep chuckle that he read her like a book, and she cleared her throat and changed the subject. “Any thoughts on what we should do today, Captain?”
“Whatever my wife wishes, I reckon,” he quipped as he placed their plates on the kitchen counter and he held out her chair, tucking her in like a true gentleman before taking his own seat. They discussed the possibilities as they ate, and he caught her up on some friendly neighborhood gossip that he’d heard down at the market, but when their meal was done and they moved to clear the dishes, Emma noticed a little sadness in Killian’s eyes. Immediately she knew the reason for it.
“You miss the kids, don’t you?”
“Aye, love. How could you tell?”
Emma didn’t have the heart to tell her pirate that his expression was totally transparent. Instead she came to cuddle with him, her arms encircling him as he did the same. This was her favorite spot, tucked in her with her true love. It was always her safest space and the place she felt like things would always be okay. Now though it was Killian who needed that anchor, and she was more than willing to give it to him.
“Because I miss them too,” Emma confessed, knowing it was silly. She saw all of her children nearly every day, and they were all in constant contact. Still it wasn’t the same, and time, as beautiful a gift as it was, was also all too fleeting. Years moved by so quickly, and some days it felt like she blinked and that whole chapter of their lives had flown by.
“It feels like only yesterday the whole house was filled with Hope, Liam and Leia running about, and with Henry coming home any chance he got. Remember the morning we found the little ones all in the mud out back?”
“Which time?” Emma asked, laughing even as she shook in horror.
The sight of them that day was so damn funny – covered and filthy and dripping in liquid dirt. But it had also been a logistical nightmare. They tracked the stuff everywhere, ruining the couch and a carpet, and the magic each kid was capable had created some kind of spell where all the stains were permanent. It was maddening but also so freaking funny, and of course, Killian had been a superhero, wrangling all three of them back outside to get cleaned off on the back porch. In less than a day he’d had the couch and carpet replaced, consulting Regina about the rest of the mess, all while Emma was on a shift at the station, and her cheeks flushed at the memory of the night they shared together when he got home. There were thousands of nights like that in the long arc of their marriage, but that one stuck out. She was especially grateful for everything he did for her and their family, and they’d made some truly lasting memories as a result.
“Or the Halloween they started the prank war with your siblings?”
“Oh my God,” Emma groaned remembering. Her kids at that point were so beyond toilet papering and throwing eggs. They had the benefit of understanding their true love magic to a certain degree and they’d made use of it. She and Regina had spent days unmaking the mess, and the town was still a little whacked out energy wise until after Christmas.
“How about the day Leia decided she wanted to be a vet?” Killian said, laughing straight out this time.
“She brought home six cats, four bunnies, and three dogs. I still never figured out where she found them all.”
Okay that wasn’t exactly true. Leia made a ‘wish’ that she could give all the homeless pets a home, and her magic had crafted its own attempt at a spell. As a result, all of the strays in a ten-mile radius arrived at their house, all of them charmed by her daughter, and cute even if they were most of them worse for wear.
“To be fair she was only trying to help them all. And she had a plan, didn’t she? A special room or space for every last one of them.”
“She was fourteen at that point. She knew there was no way we could keep them all, even if Hope was away at school and Liam was on his way to college soon too.”
“Perhaps, but we kept more than a few.”
Emma nodded, thinking of their two dogs and two cats. The other animals had all found homes either with her parents, Henry, or Belle. Even at the time she’d found it endearing, and look at where they were now. Leia was away at her last year of college, and she’d been accepted early to the university’s veterinary program. Even if that one day was madness, Emma knew it was the beginning of a real vocation, which she wanted each of her children to feel.
“You know what I think will help?” she asked, circling back around to how much they missed their family.
“Rum?” Killian asked, though he was kidding. He’d cut back considerably as time went on, but he loved pretending rum was still the answer to all things. Always with the jokes, this man.
“Maybe a little. I was thinking you, me, and maybe a bit of sailing?”
“You had me at you and me, love.”
Emma laughed at his attempt to blend a movie quote from long long ago into their conversation. Despite his being here for so many years, Killian still delivered anything having to do with pop culture like he was fresh from the Enchanted Forest. It made for many a funny moment, and this was no exception. The humor of it was only compounded by how quickly he sprung into action. No sooner had she spoken then idea than he was moving about, grabbing things they might need, and packing them a picnic lunch for them to enjoy hours from now when they were out on the water. For a moment she watched him, delighting in how adamant he was to spend time with her and get to go make some brand new memories, but before he could get too carried away, she pulled him into her, clutching at his shirt and smiling at him happily.
“I love you, Killian. A little bit more each and every day.”
“For this day and all days,” he agreed, before kissing her sweetly and resting his forehead against hers. In that moment they just enjoyed this, breathing in the peace and calm they’d fought so hard for. And even when they did break apart, and were back in action once more, Emma carried her love for him always, reveling in how magical it was to truly have a happily ever after.

Post-Note: So there we have it. Just a happy little dose of future fluff today. I find that writing these kinds of stories always brings me such a warm feeling, and though I know no show can go on forever, I still wish we’d seen more glimpses into how good things would have stayed for CS for years to come. Anyway, my wish for all of you is that this will have brought you some joy today, and that this chapter finds you healthy and well. I appreciate all of you reading and messaging me and leaving comments. It truly means the world, especially because I am mired down in work and stress and worry. I’m hoping to keep posting some chapters in the meantime, but if I get a bit spottier with the frequency, I hope you all will understand. Anyway hope you have a great rest of your weekend and thanks again for joining me on this fluffy little jaunt!

Parisian Nights, Parisian High (Gigi Goode x Nicky Doll) - strangersophia
A/N- Hi! This is a fic that I posted in parts on my account, but thought it would be nice to submit it as one somewhere. It’s based on the song Paris by Sabrina Carpenter!
Summary: When model Gigi Goode’s flight to Paris is delayed, she meets Nicky Doll. And something about that French accent makes her want to know infinitely more.
Read on AO3
“it’s so romantic in Paris
won’t even try to compare it
thought I was sure that I’d find it
but I already have love in L.A”
With her trolley of suitcases trailing behind her, Gigi looked up at the scheduled flights. After being offered a place in a high-end fashion show in Paris, she had booked the first flight she could that week. And that same flight had now been delayed eight hours. Anyone else would go home at this point, wait it out and come back when needed- but Gigi couldn’t bring herself to sit through another bout of LA traffic in an uncomfortably long Uber ride. So as any other workaholic would, she took her bags and set herself up at a nearby table, laptop open and ready to work on her upcoming editorials she needed to submit.
It wasn’t much longer than an hour before she found herself sharing the table with someone else who needed a workspace- and as it turned out, Gigi now had more things to be nervous about than a delayed flight. While Gigi was never the type to get flustered, she found it near impossible to keep focused when she was sat next to the girl next to her; the platinum blonde hair combined with the sweet smell of rosewater and ivy were difficult to ignore. Not long after she sat down, the blonde turned towards Gigi and spoke in the most melodious French accent she had ever heard.
“Excuse me ma’am, do you have a charger I could borrow? I noticed we have the same laptop and, well, mine is almost dead.”
Gigi stuttered for a moment before processing what she had said, replying,
“Uh- yes. Yes! Of course.”
“Oh wonderful! Thank you dearly. I would have brought my charger, but I didn’t expect to have an eight hour wait ahead of me.”
Gigi stopped in her tracks when she heard this. “Oh, your flight is delayed too?”
“Yes, unfortunately. I’m just trying to get home to Paris but it seems it’s going to take longer than I thought.” The girl sighed, plugging in her laptop.
“Paris?” Gigi enquired. “I’m on the same flight, I believe.”
“Well isn’t that perfect! We have each other to pass the time!” Gigi could have sworn at this point she felt her heart give way at the thought of eight hours with the most beautiful girl she had ever seen.
“My name is Nicky by the way.” The girl said, resting her chin on her hand and smiling at Gigi.
“It’s lovely to meet you Nicky. I’m Gigi.”
After general introductions and shared frustration over delayed flights and rude airport staff, Nicky asked why Gigi was going to Paris. Nonchalantly, Gigi told her- trying her best to hide her insane excitement under a mask of sophistication.
“No. Way!” Nicky exclaimed upon hearing her story. “You’re in this year’s fall runway? My best friend runs that thing!” Gigi had to stop her jaw from dropping to the ground.
“Seriously? You mean you’re friends with Crystal Elizabeth?”
“Oh yeah. We go way back. I’m sometimes the makeup artist for her shows!”
At this point, Gigi was pretty damn sure that meeting Nicky must be some sort of fate. While she wasn’t one to usually listen to the universe, she couldn’t exactly ignore the messages right now.
“That’s crazy!” Gigi finally replied after a moment of shock. “So what brought you to L.A.?”
Nicky’s face dropped slightly at the comment, Gigi noticed.
“Well, I’d been visiting my boyfriend over here for a while. But, things turned sour and we had a fight. I told him I didn’t want to see him again, and I booked the first flight I could back to Paris. I only packed my bags about three hours ago, and - well - now I’m here.”
While Gigi could sense the pain in her voice, she also couldn’t help but notice the pure relief in her words.
“I’m so sorry to hear that, Nicky. You deserve better. And I hope you find that in Paris.”
Of course, in Gigi’s ideal world that meant they would fall in love then and there, and live together forever. However, the mention of an ex-boyfriend stung a little as Gigi crushed any idea she had of Nicky being anything but straight.
“It is what it is. C’est la vie.” Nicky responded, tying her blonde hair into a loose ponytail.
“Well, we now have about five hours til the flight,” Gigi said, “and I’m getting hungry. How would you like to come grab dinner with me?”
“I would love that. A junk food airport dinner is somehow actually exactly what I need right now.”
Both of the girls opted for burgers and fries, a comforting meal considering their situation. Gigi had learnt over the course of dinner that Nicky was not only beautiful but she was hilarious- Gigi couldn’t help but laugh every time she made an incredibly sarcastic comment, or when she couldn’t pronounce words in English, to her own frustration (which was the cutest thing Gigi had ever seen.) And Nicky felt the same way about Gigi- she thought maybe the reason she kept messing up her words was because it was hard to focus on anything but the face of perfection in front of her. They ended up talking for hours. It turned out they both had a passion for makeup, design, and fashion- and Gigi showed Nicky all the photos of the looks she had been working on in return for a peek at Nicky’s upcoming work with Crystal. When it finally came to the time they had to check in and go to their gate for boarding, Nicky hesitated when they got to the desks.
“Actually… I have to go to the first class check in.” This was returned with raised eyebrows and a smirk from Gigi. Nicky laughed, “I know, I know, fancy rich French bitch, but trust me, this wouldn’t usually be the case. I just had to book the flight so late that they only had first class seats left.”
“Oh, you poor baby.” Gigi giggled, as Nicky just winked and joined the queue for first class. But not before turning to Gigi and saying softly,
“See you on the other side.”
“why’d it take so long for me to know this?
scared to put the water with the roses
halfway ‘cross the world for me to notice
but I notice, yeah, I notice, yeah”
The ten hour flight from LA to Paris was the hardest Nicky had been on yet. Sure, she was in first class. But she couldn’t stop thinking about Gigi. Which concerned her, considering she had broken up with her boyfriend that morning and had only just met this girl a few hours after. Not to mention the fact that Gigi was, well, a girl. And while Nicky had always known she was pansexual, she had never fallen for a girl before. But something about her… something made Nicky sure that Gigi was something special. And she knew for sure that it wouldn’t be the last time she would be seeing her. Which is why Nicky got out her phone, and opened Instagram. She remembered seeing Gigi’s name all over the photos she had shown her, and thought she would put it in and see what came up. And there, on her screen, was Gigi’s account. After minutes of deliberating, Nicky decided she didn’t care how much of a stalker she might look like, and she tapped follow- hoping she wouldn’t regret it later.
The long flight was no easier for Gigi. Consumed in the memory of Nicky’s smile, her laugh, her accent- the idea of relaxing was impossible. And Nicky’s last words to her repeated constantly in her mind.
“See you on the other side.”
So that meant she wanted to see her again. ‘There’s one thing,’ Gigi thought, ‘but what if she doesn’t? What if it was all just a way to pass time for Nicky, and she’s forgotten all about me since getting on the flight?’ Gigi was snapped out of her thoughts as the pilot announced the plane landing, and Gigi made sure to take some photos of the city from above to put on her Instagram later. It suddenly occurred to her that earlier, Nicky had shown Gigi her Instagram page, and she could remember the handle- @nickydoll. Frantically logging into Instagram, she saw a notification pop up:
@nickydoll started following you.
It took everything within Gigi to not throw her phone down the aisle of the plane as she stared at the name on her screen. While she couldn’t remember giving Nicky her Instagram, she concluded that Nicky must have remembered her name and searched for it herself. Which, in all honesty, made Gigi’s heart flutter a little bit. Gigi followed back instantly, and didn’t hesitate to look through almost every one of Nicky’s posts. By the time she finished, it was time to get off the plane and see where Paris would take her.
As Nicky got off the plane, she deliberated whether she should wait for Gigi or not. Upon doing this she realised she would be crazy not to- but she decided to wait until she would see her at the bag carousel where they would be picking up their luggage. Gigi spent the entire time at border security keeping her eye out in case she saw Nicky around, but gave up after a while in fear of looking way too desperate. But as she got to the bag carousel not too long later, she noticed a familiar patterned coat matched with shoulder length blonde hair and realised it was exactly the girl she had been looking for the whole time.
“Excusez-moi, belle.” Gigi said, tapping Nicky on the shoulder. As Nicky turned around she found it hard to cover up her excitement, not only from seeing Gigi but also at the fact she called her beautiful. Not that she was reading into it or anything- it was probably just a subconscious comment. But still, two could play at that game.
“Bonjour, ma chérie.” Nicky replied, smirking. It was a good thing Gigi didn’t understand much French, because if she knew that Nicky just called her ‘darling’ then she might have melted right there. But she just smiled, and asked,
“So how was first class then huh? Must’ve been the best flight ever.” Of course Nicky could protest to that last part, but she wasn’t about to admit that- so she simply replied,
“It was definitely a luxury. You should have seen the food they served me!”
“Oh girl, anything would be luxurious compared to the shit I had to eat.” Gigi laughed, grabbing her suitcases from the carousel.
“Anyway,” Nicky started, “how are you getting to your hotel?”
“I was just going to call a taxi I guess. I don’t really know my way around or anything yet.”
“Oh, well, I was going to offer if you wanted to get a lift with me. My friend is picking me up, and I already texted her asking if she would be okay giving you a ride. She’s American actually, from New York. I think you’d like her.”
“Nicky, that’s lovely of you to offer but I wouldn’t want to interrupt anything, it’s-”
“No, Gigi, honestly. I’d love to get you introduced to Paris.”
Gigi’s face softened as she smiled at the girl in front of her.
“Okay. Thank you so much, I owe you big time.”
They walked outside the terminal together, Nicky texting her friend to make sure they were picked up from the right place. As soon as they got to the carpark, Gigi saw a woman about the same age as the both of them - maybe a bit older - waving out the car window yelling,
“Bonjour ladies!”
“Jackie!” Nicky yelled back, running to the car and greeting her friend. “Jackie, this is Gigi. Gigi, Jackie.”
Gigi smiled and waved. “Nice to meet you, Jackie.”
After exchanging conversation and giving addresses, Gigi found out that Jackie was a performer and model who moved to Paris four years ago for an opportunity similar to Gigi’s, and had been living there since- with frequent visits to New York. There was one point where Gigi couldn’t pick up on the two friends’ conversation, as they began speaking in French- but from what she could deduct, they must have been talking about Nicky’s ex-boyfriend. What Gigi didn’t realise was that a good portion of the conversation was regarding her, and Jackie’s sneaking suspicion that Nicky felt some sort of way about Gigi. Jackie argued that there was no way Nicky would have invited just anyone to drive home with her- she knew all too well that Nicky was far too cautious around anyone she didn’t trust. But Nicky attested that there was nothing there, as she was trying to convince herself at the same time.
Once the three arrived at the hotel Gigi was staying at, Nicky got out of the car to help with her bags.
“Oh yeah,” Nicky said nervously, “I hope you don’t mind, but I followed your Instagram earlier. I thought it would be nice for you to have someone to contact if you need anything here.”
Gigi blushed, replying, “I did see that- and I don’t mind at all. I followed you back actually.”
“Good, you better have! Cause you have way more followers than me and I want more now.” Nicky laughed.
“Sorry girl, I can’t help being this beautiful,” Gigi said with an exaggerated hair flip.
“You really can’t, can you?” For a split second moment, neither of them said anything as they made eye contact and let Nicky’s comment sink in.
Gigi broke the silence first- “Anyway, thank Jackie again for the drive ‘cause I seriously appreciate it. And thank you for keeping me company Nicky. Hopefully our paths cross again soon.”
“I agree, ma chérie. Have a wonderful night now, sleep well.” And with a quick blow of a kiss she hopped back in the car, leaving Gigi to go up to her hotel room and stalk Nicky’s instagram until she fell asleep. And sleep well, she did.
“took myself where I think I should be
something told me that it’s waiting here for me
Parisian nights, Parisian high, Parisian breeze”
Over the course of the next four days, Gigi had not only started rehearsals for the show, but she had spent a good amount of time with Nicky. As it turned out, Nicky had discussed the show with her best friend and producer of the show - Crystal - and was hired to help with the design and marketing side of things, which Nicky really just took as an excuse to see more Gigi. So while Gigi spent most of her time at rehearsals with the other models, she often got chances every now and then to spend a moment with Nicky- who usually always had Crystal by her side. But when rehearsals finished for the day, Nicky would always find Gigi before she had a chance to leave, take her by the hand, and drag Gigi to her favourite bakery a block away. There, they would order coffee, eat pastries, and discuss anything and everything. At first, Gigi would go back to her hotel after an hour, so she could do work and get ready for the days ahead of her. But by a few days in, the two were spending hours together every day. And Nicky was sure she had to do something to really solidify their relationship. So she talked to Crystal, and between them they planned a small afterparty for the runway show, hosted by Nicky and involving the two of them plus Gigi, Jackie, and Jaida- one of the other models who Gigi had become good friends with. Crystal and Jackie were entirely on board the idea of getting Nicky together with Gigi that night- and unbeknownst to them, Gigi had been planning the same thing with Jaida.
When the night of the runway show rolled around, Nicky couldn’t help but be even more in awe of Gigi than usual. That girl sure knew how to work a runway, and look incredible doing it. Nicky even made the point of buying a bouquet of flowers for Gigi, which she gave to her after the show along with a ‘casual’ kiss on the cheek. Gigi was on cloud nine the entire night- not only had she performed in the biggest show of her career, but she was sure that she had won over the prettiest girl she had ever met. Once the five girls all met up at Nicky’s small house, bottles of alcohol were started and finished one after the other, and the whispers of hooking up got louder and louder. About an hour and a half into the party, Gigi took a seat in the corner by herself- but was met hardly a minute later by none other than Jaida.
“You liking your party, girl?” Jaida asked Gigi over the sounds of loud music and singing.
“I’m loving it. I can’t remember the last time I felt this happy.” Despite talking to Jaida, Gigi couldn’t keep her eyes off the blonde girl dancing in the middle of the lounge. Nicky was wearing a tight gold mini dress - which, frankly, had been driving Gigi crazy all night - and she was twirling her hips in time to the song playing. She truly had Gigi hypnotized.
“Well, I see that your focus is somewhere else right now,” Jaida said sarcastically, following Gigi’s eyeline, “and I don’t blame you.”
This caught Gigi’s attention, and she turned and smiled softly at her friend.
“I don’t know what I’m going to do, Jaida. I like her so much, but I don’t want to scare her off.”
“Oh honey, please, that girl is not scared of you. She’s the complete opposite! I don’t think she could keep away from you if she tried.”
And at that same moment, Nicky turned and winked at Gigi, strutting towards her with an arm extended.
“Dance with me, mon doudou!”
Gigi laughed and looked at Jaida, who simply smiled and raised her eyebrows. Before she knew it, Gigi was wrapped up in the arms of a somewhat drunk Nicky, who was pulling Gigi closer every second. Once they were tightly face to face, Nicky stopped singing along to look at Gigi and say, in a completely slurred voice,
“Gigi, you’re so preeeeetty. I’ve never seen anyone as pretty as youuu. Je t'adoreeee mon bébé.”
‘Note to self’, Gigi thought, ‘Nicky flirts in French when she’s drunk.’
It wasn’t until then that Gigi noticed a pair of hands caressing her face, and as much as she wanted to keep going in the moment, she knew it was the wrong time while Nicky was this drunk.
“Alright party girl, let’s get you some water shall we? And you wanna leftover croissant?”
Nicky grinned even wider at this, nodding and following Gigi where she led her. They ended up alone in the kitchen, and Gigi managed to get a fair amount of food and water into Nicky as best as she could.
“Whyyy are you taking care of me?” Nicky asked as she sat on the counter in front of Gigi.
“Because I care about you. And I kinda need you to stay sober tonight.”
“You’re the best person I’ve ever met, Gigi!”
At this point Gigi knew she couldn’t take anything Nicky said in the next hour seriously, so the rest of the night turned into a pretty long waiting game.
A few hours later, the party side of things had died down and the girls all sat on the couches chatting together. Nicky had luckily almost completely sobered up, although that could probably be thanks to the fact she threw up twice in her bathroom, rather than all the caregiving she got from Gigi. Either way, it was a good thing for both of them. By about 2am, Jackie and Jaida had already left, and Crystal was ready to say her goodbyes. Both the girls hugged her as she left to the door, and Gigi was sure she heard her whisper something in Nicky’s ear along the lines of “you’ve got this, I’m rooting for you.” Honestly, it was no secret to Gigi the plans that the girls had made for them that night. And she sure wasn’t mad about it.
With Crystal gone, both of the girls knew what had to come next- but whether they were entirely confident on what to do with that information, was a different story. The house seemed quiet without the other girls, and with the music playing only softly in the background. Gigi couldn’t remember when the upbeat music turned into a playlist of slow, sultry songs, but she thought it set the mood pretty perfectly. Nicky flopped down on her couch, patting the cushion next to her to get Gigi sitting beside her.
“Thank you for tonight,” Gigi said, “I’ve had a lot of fun.”
“Of course, I’ve had fun too. I think we all needed a bit of a party after all our hard work.”
Gigi nodded quietly, looking down at her feet.
“I’m glad I met you. Truly.” Nicky said, hoping to get a reaction from Gigi. And she did- Gigi looked up and smiled at her.
“I feel lucky to have met you, too.”
It was as if they both felt the moment click, and Nicky placed a hand softly under Gigi’s chin, lifting her face towards her own. And almost as if in slow motion, their lips met.
Only suddenly Nicky pushed Gigi away, moving back in her seat and putting her hands to her face.
“Gigi, I’m sorry. I can’t do this.” Nicky frantically whispered. Gigi stood up, staring at Nicky.
“What do you mean, you can’t do this?”
Nicky just looked at the other girl blankly, trying to figure out something to say.
“Just… I can’t. Not with you, not right now.”
“Wh-what does that mean?”
“I’m sorry, but please just-”
“What the fuck am I supposed to do, Nicky? What do you want me to say?” Gigi started raising her voice so she was practically yelling. “That I’m fine with the fact you’ve led me on all night, for days even, and now you say you can’t do this?”
“Gigi, please don’t make this a big deal.” Nicky pleaded, but Gigi was already on the verge of tears.
“So this isn’t already a big deal? This doesn’t matter to you, none of this has fucking mattered to you? Nicky, you can’t act like you have no idea how much of my time I’ve dedicated to you, how much I’ve thought about you, and then when I finally think we could be on the same page, you turn on me. Just like that.”
Both of them in tears now, Nicky whispers,
“I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
“Well it hurts, Nicky. It fucking hurts.”
And without a second thought, Gigi left through the front door and didn’t look back.
“if you show me too much love, it makes me leave
guess that’s one of many things that’s wrong with me
looking past you when you’re right in front of me
i won’t do that anymore, i won’t do that anymore”
The next week was hell for both of the girls. Crystal had offered Gigi a spot in her offices as an intern for the rest of the time she was in Paris, which meant she would be working in the same place as Nicky. While the office wasn’t small by any means, it was still easy enough for the two to cross paths- outside Crystal’s office, by the kitchen, through the corridors. Gigi would always walk past quickly, making sure her eyeline never met Nicky’s once. This, of course, just made things worse for Nicky, who already felt like crying every time the girl was close by. It was fair to say she was regretting her actions- and despite feeling like she should be mad at Gigi for yelling at her, she couldn’t find it within herself to be anything more than heartbroken.
After three days of this, Nicky called Jackie when she got home from work, broken down in tears.
“Jackie, what the fuck did I do? I ruined it. I ruined it like I always do.”
“Please don’t say that Nicky. Remember what you’ve been through, and remember how brave you are. I know you, and I know that none of this is your fault. So please, for the love of god, don’t beat yourself up over this.”
“But I lost her. How am I meant to forgive myself if the only thing I do is make my own life worse?”
“Your life doesn’t depend on any boy or any girl, ok baby? Take some time for yourself. I’ll be here if you need to talk, and you’ve got Crystal and all of your other sisters.”
“Thank you Jackie. I don’t know what I’d do without you.” Nicky ended up talking to Jackie for six hours that night. She needed a distraction- anything to get her mind off Gigi. Around 1am, Jackie finally convinced her to get some sleep and take the next day off work. And after hanging up, Jackie decided to send a message to Gigi.
1:04am @jackiecox: Hey Gigi, it’s me, Jackie. I’ve just been talking to Nicky. I think it might be time that you two talked to each other and sorted something out, because I don’t know if I can deal with seeing her cry for three hours again because of how she feels about you. I care about both of you, and I can’t see why you should carry on like this.
When Gigi first read the message, her instinct was to reply instantly, telling Jackie that she was sorry and horrified and never wanted to go a day without Nicky ever again. But instead, she took a breath, and typed out what she felt was a more appropriate response.
1:10am @gigigoode: Thanks for reaching out, Jackie. But I don’t think I’m ready to do that just yet.
1:12am @gigigoode: When Nicky tells me herself that she’s ready, that’s when I’ll be ready. Because I’m not risking it again.
The next day, Gigi stumbled out of bed a little more carelessly than usual. She knew she would have to see Nicky again, and knew it would be more painful knowing now what had been going on behind the walls she had put up. So she got to work as last-minute as she could without being considered late, going straight to her desk and putting her head down to work. While she wasn’t necessarily keeping an eye out for Nicky or anything, she found it strange that by midday there was still no sign of her. And she found it even stranger when Crystal walked by her desk and asked if she had seen Nicky that day. Somewhat taking advantage of the situation, Gigi decided to work late and didn’t get home until 8pm that night. And yet, still no sign of Nicky. So, she grabbed her phone and took matters into her own hands.
8:11pm @gigigoode: Nicky, look, I know you’re probably mad at me. Or scared. Or both. But you can’t just stop coming to work, I think you already know I’m over it okay? Can’t we just remain civil?
No reply. At this point, Gigi was pretty sure her suspicions were correct in presuming she was the reason Nicky had been so absent. So after a few hours, she decided to try again.
11:56pm @gigigoode: Whatever, I get it. But there’s no point in hurting both of us.
After half an hour with no response, Gigi opened a bottle of gin and settled down for the night. It was the only way to repress the anxiety creeping into her mind; the more she thought about why Nicky could possibly be ignoring her this hard, the more she worried. Just as Gigi was about to give up hope on getting any sign of life, her phone finally lit up.
12:57am @nickydoll: Gigi I’m sorry, I swear I’m not mad at you.
It took a minute for Gigi to realise she had actually got a response. But it wasn’t enough for her. What she really wanted was an explanation. So she opened the message, and waited.
1:08am @nickydoll: But yes, I’m scared. I’m scared because when I look at you, I know how I feel, and it scares the shit out of me. And I wish I could go back in time and kiss you again but it feels impossible because I’m not used to letting anyone love me, okay?
1:10am @nickydoll: You wanna know why it was so easy for me to just up and leave LA like I did? Because my boyfriend was the worst person in the world. He abused me, he manipulated me, he used me, and he lied to me. So when I saw the opportunity, of course I used it to escape. And I guess that’s why I clung to you that day at the airport, because it was the first time in so long I felt like someone saw that I actually existed, and didn’t just see me as a pile of broken parts. I felt something when I talked to you. And when you kissed me… my heart knew it was right, but my mind told me to shut it out because I’ve been taught not to trust people like that. So I put up my walls. And I’ve shut myself off from you because every time I see your face it reminds me of just how broken I am, and how badly I wish I could fix myself. Or find someone to fix me. But I know I can’t put that responsibility on you. So I’m sorry if you’re hurting, Gigi, but just know it hurts me more.
1:16am @nickydoll: Still, I know I can’t change what I did to you. But if you want me, I’m here.
1:20am @nickydoll: I’ll always be here.
By the time Gigi finished reading the messages, she was already halfway out the door, her vision blurred by tears. She should’ve known she was being selfish. Nicky deserved so much more. And Gigi wanted nothing more than to be the one who could give her the world. So if it meant turning up on her doorstep at 1:30 in the morning, she was willing to do it. By the time her Uber arrived at Nicky’s house, it was nearing 2am. After pacing for a minute outside the door, she built up the confidence to do what she needed to do and knocked five times. No answer. She tried knocking again. And again.
“Nicky, what the fuck.” Gigi muttered under her breath. Surely there was no way Nicky had gone out at this time of night- so Gigi assumed she was inside and ignoring her on purpose. Getting out her phone, she dialed Nicky’s number and waited for an answer. And to her surprise, she heard a voice pick up the call.
“Gigi?” It was Nicky. But not by herself- there was music in the background… and voices.
“Nicky? Where the fuck are you? I’m literally at your house right now.”
“Merde. I’m sorry. Be there in five.” And with that, she hung up.
At this point, Gigi didn’t know what to do. Or what to think. Or where the hell Nicky had been. So she sat down on the doorstep and waited for her to arrive. And surely enough, in five minutes, she did. And when they came face to face, neither of them could bear to say a word.
“if I asked that girl to jump, i know she would
she don’t even have to say, it’s understood
she treat me nice, she treat me right, she treat me good
still I get so hesitant, still I get so hesitant”
As Gigi stood in front of Nicky on the steps of her front door, neither of them had a clue what to do. But as soon a single tear rolled down Nicky’s face, all doubt slipped Gigi’s mind and she stepped forward and hugged her as tight as she could. Nicky melted into the embrace. And soon enough, both of them were crying quietly in the glow of the streetlights, holding on to each other as if that was all they needed to survive. Because in that moment, it felt true.
When the moment felt right, Gigi pulled away to look Nicky in the face. She had a full face of makeup, now ruined with mascara running down her face and lipstick smudged.
“Hey, let’s get you inside and get you cleaned up, yeah?” Gigi said almost in a whisper, met with a small nod from Nicky as she opened the door and led them both inside. Once they were in the house, Gigi got a chance to look at Nicky properly. She had tall heels on which made her almost a head taller than Gigi, and she was wearing a mini skirt which left her with bare legs that were barely covered by the large coat she had wrapped around her.
“Why did you come here?” Nicky asked nervously as soon as they got in the door.
“Why did I come here? Because I was worried about you, Nicky. You weren’t answering my messages and I felt horrible. And then when you sent me that message, well, no amount of things I could have texted you would have conveyed how I felt. I needed to come here, and explain how sorry I am for being such a bitch to you.”
“Gigi, I never thought that about you. Just so you know.”
“Even still, you deserved better, okay?” After a moment of silence, Gigi knew she had to ask what she had been wondering since Nicky turned up.
“So, are you gonna tell me where the hell you’ve been? Because I’m still gonna be worried until I know what you’ve been up to.”
“Gigi, I don’t think you wanna-”
“Please. You can trust me, okay?”
“Can I go get changed first? You can sit down on the couch if you want. I just want to be comfortable, if that’s okay.” Nicky looked at Gigi pleadingly.
“Of course, baby. Take your time. I’ll make us some tea.”
Ten minutes later, Nicky came back in pyjama shorts and a hoodie to see Gigi sitting on the couch with her legs curled up, holding two cups of chamomile tea. When she sat down, she was met with an expectant look from Gigi.
“So? You wanna explain?”
“I was at a club.” Nicky said quickly, looking down and playing with her hands.
“That’s all?”
Nicky kept looking down. “Well… it was… a gentlemen’s club, you know.” She looked up at Gigi who was obviously trying to appear as unbothered as possible- but she could sense the shock.
“Before you say anything, I’m never going back there again. It was a bad idea for me to go back there tonight anyway.”
“What do you mean, go back there?”
Nicky sighed before explaining everything. “Before I moved to LA, my work wasn’t doing too well here in Paris. I needed another way to make money, so the only thing I had left to turn to was working for an escort company. It was while I was doing that when I met my ex-boyfriend, who was visiting Paris from LA and would hire me all the time. We got to know each other, and after a month he convinced me to move to LA with him. Looking back, I was completely manipulated, but I didn’t notice until it was too late. Anyway, I swore I would never go back to that industry. But the past couple days have been so hard, that I just needed any way I could find that would take my mind off of things, you know? So I went back. But now I just feel worse about everything, and I feel so, so, stupid.” Gigi grabbed both of Nicky’s hands and looked into her eyes.
“Nicky, you are not stupid. You were going through a hard time and you made a bad choice. It’s okay. These things happen. But I’m not going to judge you for it and you shouldn’t beat yourself up for it either.”
“I don’t deserve you, Gigi. You’re too good for me.”
“Doll, please, don’t say that. You are the sweetest, bravest, most talented person I have ever met. And I’m not just saying that. From now on, I want you to trust me and know that everything I do is because I care for you. You are extraordinary. And you always will be extraordinary in my eyes, no matter what.”
Almost instantly after she finished her sentence, Nicky grabbed both sides of Gigi’s face and kissed her with all the intensity she could. At first Gigi was completely stunned, but after a few seconds she relaxed and let her hands find her away around Nicky’s waist. Nicky had no idea how she had gained such a surge of confidence, but she did know that she had never been more sure of anything in her life. She wasn’t scared anymore, because she had Gigi. And in that moment, that was all she needed.
Once they both broke away from the kiss, Gigi was smiling harder than Nicky had ever seen- and Nicky reciprocated her reaction.
“I’m glad you finally came around,” Gigi said, “because I’ve been dreaming of that moment for a while now.”
“Oh believe me, I have been too. But I only now stopped my mind from getting in the way.”
“Well, I’m glad you did. Cause I could get used to this.” Gigi laughed, and Nicky leaned in for one more peck on the lips. This turned into another passionate kiss, but after a while they both pulled away in fear of taking it too far, too fast.
“As much as I’d like to continue,” Gigi said while stroking Nicky’s hand with hers, “you have had a long day and we both need a rest.” Nicky pouted, but knew Gigi was right.
“Should I call an Uber?” Gigi asked. “I don’t wanna be in your way if you want some time alone.”
“Are you kidding me? You are staying here as long as I can keep you.” Nicky replied, earning a smile from Gigi. “And correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think either of us are gonna be up for going into the office tomorrow morning.”
“Oh, yeah, I am definitely going to need a sleep in tomorrow. I’ll call Crystal in the morning.”
“Alright then. Do you wanna borrow any pyjamas?”
Gigi looked down at herself and remembered the fact that she was in such a hurry to leave earlier she had actually just thrown a hoodie over her pyjamas and left.
“I’m good actually, I can sleep in what I’ve got on. But thank you.”
“Ok, let me know if you need anything though. And I don’t know where you want to sleep, but…”
“I’m fine to sleep wherever, honestly. I can sleep right here right now if that’s easiest.”
Of course, Nicky would ideally have Gigi sleeping in her bed already. But, she didn’t want to rush anything. So she offered her the guest bedroom that she kept ready for any friends she had sleep over.
Once both of the girls had gotten ready to sleep, Nicky went to Gigi’s room to make sure everything was set up properly for her. And, really, she wanted to make sure she had a chance to truly thank Gigi for everything.
“Hey Gigi, everything okay here?”
“Oh, it’s perfect. Thank you so much for letting me stay over.”
“Of course. And actually, I wanted to come and say thank you. If you didn’t come over tonight I don’t know what might have happened to me.”
Gigi got up from her bed and pulled Nicky into a soft hug, whispering, “I’m glad I did come over. I couldn’t bear to think of you hurting.”
Nicky smiled gently and, walking to the door, said, “Well, I’m glad you’re here. Goodnight, ma chérie.”
“Nicky, wait-” Gigi said before the door could shut, “what does that mean? Ma chérie? I’ve heard you call me it but I’ve never known what you’re saying.”
“It means, my darling.”
And with that, Gigi was left feeling more in love with Nicky than ever.
“je ne voulais pas trouver l'amour
mais paris a quelque chose
qui donne envie d'aimer, d'aimer passionément”
That morning, Gigi woke up slowly to the sound of Nicky crashing around in the kitchen making either breakfast or lunch, depending how long Gigi had slept in. As she listened closer, she could hear her singing some song in French. Gigi had no idea that Nicky had such a beautiful voice- she closed her eyes for a minute to take in the happiness she felt in being woken up by the sound of the prettiest girl in the world- the girl that had kissed her not once but twice in the past 24 hours. As she turned over to check the time, she noticed her phone screen lighting up beside her.
9:35am @jaidaehall: UMMMM YOU + NICKY = BOTH NOT AT WORK???
9:37am @jaidaehall: You better not be all sulky and depressed now too, or else I’m gonna come over there and make you snap out of it.
9:45am @jaidaehall: Like for real, the reason you’re not replying better be because you and Nicky are making out and not because you’re staying at home all petty I sweaaaar
Reading the messages from Jaida made Gigi giggle to herself, and she knew Jaida would die if she told her what happened with Nicky. So she decided to make her wait a little longer, just for fun.
10:12am @gigigoode: hahahaha i’m literally at nicky’s house right now. will explain tonight ;)
10:13am @jaidaehall: BITCH OMG
10:13am @jaidaehall: Just so u know, make up sex is the best sex okay?
10:15am @gigigoode: lol, shut UPPP
And with that, Gigi got out of bed slowly and made her way to the kitchen where Nicky was standing in front of the stove, occupied by her phone. Before she even noticed Gigi in the room, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist from behind.
“Good mooorning.”
“Oh bonjour, princess.” Nicky said, turning around with a wink. Gigi loved how she was already calling her pet names- it felt like they were dating already.
“Did you sleep okay? After everything?” Gigi asked, with her arms still draped around Nicky’s waist.
“It took me a while to get to sleep because I couldn’t stop thinking about everything, but I didn’t sleep too badly.” Of course, by ‘everything,’ Nicky meant that she could not stop thinking about Gigi’s lips on hers last night- and Gigi’s night had been pretty much the same.
“Yeah, same here. So, what did you want to do today then?”
The two girls spent the day at Nicky’s house curled up on the couch together, watching a marathon of movies- both in French and English. Nicky loved explaining all her favorite French movies to Gigi, and seeing her gradually fall in love with them the same as her. When the end of the day came, both of them decided it would be best for Gigi to go back to her own hotel room for the night, since they had to go to work the next day and Gigi still had things she had to prepare. So after a dozen goodbye kisses, Gigi made her way back to the hotel, still basking in the fact that traces of Nicky’s perfume were left on all of her clothes.
At work, it was impossible to keep the two apart. In fact, Crystal noticed and gave them projects to work on together, discovering that they actually made an extremely efficient and talented team. The next week for Gigi was spent back and forth from her hotel to Nicky’s house, alternating where she would stay for the night. It was on the third night staying at Nicky’s house that she first slept in the same bed as her. That particular night was filled with torrential rain, and a thunderstorm that began around 1am. Gigi had always hated thunder, so upon hearing it she decided to go into the kitchen and get something to drink, to try to take her mind off of the noise. This woke Nicky up, who tiptoed into the kitchen to see if Gigi was okay.
“What’s wrong, mon coeur?” She whispered upon noticing Gigi huddled up with a glass of orange juice.
“Sorry baby. I just got woken up by the thunder and couldn’t sleep.”
Taking her hand, Nicky said, “That’s okay, you do what you need to do. I mean, if you want, you could come join me in my room. You know, so I can keep you safe.”
Gigi smiled warmly. “I think I would love that.”
“Ok, well, I’m going to go back to bed and you join me when you’re ready, yeah?”
Gigi nodded, and Nicky gave her a kiss on the forehead before going back into her room.
After finishing her drink, Gigi slowly opened the door to Nicky’s bedroom- admittedly, very nervous.
“Come here, ma belle.” Nicky said sleepily and patted the other side of the bed. Gigi had never slept in a bed with silk sheets before, so getting into Nicky’s bed felt like a luxury. Not to mention the fact that she was sleeping next to Nicky. Both of them faced each other as they lay down, and Nicky started to stroke her fingers through Gigi’s hair and down the side of her face.
“Gigi, you’re perfect. You know that right?”
“I could say the same about you, doll.” Gigi flinched as a particularly loud bout of thunder struck. Nicky put a hand on her side and pulling her closer, whispering,
“Hey, I’m here. You’re okay.”
“Thank you, I’m okay. I just jumped, that’s all.” Nicky nodded, starting to trail her fingers softly up and down Gigi’s arm, giving her goosebumps.
“Try and get to sleep, baby.” And with that, Gigi felt safer than she ever had before- and she fell asleep in no time to the rhythm of Nicky’s breaths.
Since that night, Gigi fell asleep in Nicky’s arms every time she stayed over.
And she loved it.
In the last week of Gigi’s four week stay, she ditched the hotel room all together and stayed with Nicky every night. They had game nights with the other girls, they had movie nights, and they had quiet nights where the two of them would sit on the balcony talking for hours, drinking red wine under the stars. Life felt perfect. However, both of the girls knew that Gigi’s time in Paris had to end at some point, and Nicky still had been too scared to bring it up. Until one night when they were arriving home from work, when Nicky forced herself to ask Gigi about her flight home.
“So, I’ve been wondering, what day is your flight again? Is it next week?”
“It was meant to be this coming Monday, yeah.”
“Meant to be?” Nicky replied curiously.
“And that brings me to what I was going to tell you tonight.” Gigi said, dragging Nicky’s hand to sit them both down on the couch,
“Nicky, I’ve been given a job offer. Or at least, an interview for one. Crystal recommended me to a big designer who wants me to not only be a model, but also help with the design of their new line for the year coming up. If I get the job, I guess I’ll have to move here. Permanently.”
“Holy shit, ma chérie this is amazing!” Nicky yelled, grabbing Gigi into a huge hug.
“I mean, don’t get your hopes up too much baby. I still don’t know if I’m gonna get accepted.”
“Still, even so, I’m so proud of you. You’ve been in Paris for a month, you’ve only just turned 22, and you’re already making a name for yourself. You amaze me, Gigi.”
“Thank you, Nicky. Honestly, I couldn’t have done it without you. You’ve been my rock through all of this.” Nicky smiled, and Gigi kissed her quickly.
“Now, I don’t know about you…” Nicky started, as she swung her leg over Gigi to straddle her, “but I think we should be celebrating this win.”
Gigi looked up at the girl on top of her, smirking. “Oh, you think so?”
Nicky could barely fit in an “mhmm” before Gigi pulled her down by the waist, kissing her passionately. In less than a minute they had gained a rhythm, Nicky grinding on top of Gigi and running her hands through her hair. Gigi grabbed the back of Nicky’s tight shorts, causing her to moan into the kiss. To get her back, Nicky pinned Gigi’s wrists down on either side of her, and began trailing kisses starting from the top of her neck all the way down to her collarbones. And
pulling the neckline of her shirt down just a little, she left a dark hickey at the top of her chest. Once they got back to kissing, Gigi’s hands found their way under Nicky’s shirt and she traced circles all over her stomach. Nicky began to pull her shirt over her head, but Gigi took her hand for a second.
“Nicky, babe, you sure you wanna do this? I don’t want you to do anything you’re not comfortable with.”
“I’m more than sure, mon bonheur.” And as she spoke, she threw her shirt on the ground leaving her in a light red lace bra. Gigi took a moment to take the sight in, in disbelief of how she got so lucky as to end up with someone so perfect in every way. And without hesitation, she ripped her own shirt off and threw it down next to Nicky’s.
“Wanna take this somewhere we have more room?” Gigi said breathlessly, met with a nod from Nicky who was already dragging her by the wrists to the bedroom. Before she knew it, Gigi was already pinned down to the bed without her clothes on, enjoying every moment of what the blonde girl on top of her was doing. Most of the time was spent that way- save the moments where Gigi found her head between Nicky’s legs, finding out that Nicky did not keep quiet when she was satisfied (which Gigi loved, and did her best to evoke).
It was fair to say that the two enjoyed each other’s company, in every aspect of their lives. When people talk about humans being made out of stardust, there was no doubt they would have been made from the same star. It was the only explanation as to how they fit each other so perfectly, and neither of them could imagine it being any other way.
“mon coeur est à toi pour toujours
you will always have my heart.”
When the day of Gigi’s job interview finally rolled around, it was almost impossible for her to get out of bed. Of course, she was incredibly excited for the opportunity she had been given- but at the same time, she couldn’t quite escape the chronic overthinking part of her brain. So as she lay in bed sleepless for an hour before her alarm went off, she went through every possible thing that could go wrong in her day. That was, at least, until Nicky woke up. It was hard to stay reluctant when you are greeted in the morning by your girlfriend on top of you showering your entire face in tiny kisses, telling you how amazing you are. Oh yeah, girlfriend. Gigi still couldn’t believe she could use that word. It was all because of one night the previous week, where Nicky had fallen asleep on the couch during one of their movie nights. When it got late, Gigi decided to scoop the sleeping girl up the best she could and carry her to the bedroom. Nicky woke up halfway through the process, but kept her eyes shut until she reached the bed. And when Gigi lay down beside her, Nicky - who was still half asleep - mumbled quietly,
“Thank you Gigi. You’re the best girlfriend ever.” And just like that, she was back to being fast asleep.
The morning after, Nicky remembered what she had said in her sleepy trance. As soon as Gigi woke up, Nicky instantly asked,
“Did I say anything to you last night? I don’t remember what was a dream and what actually happened.” Gigi laughed, and started intertwining her fingers with Nicky’s.
“Well, you did say something about me being the best girlfriend ever… or something along those lines.”
Shocked, Nicky stammered, “Shit- Gigi, I’m sorry, I know we haven’t discussed that yet and I didn’t mean to-“
“Hey,” Gigi cut her off, “If you feel like you’re ready, it would be an honour to be your girlfriend, Nicky.” Nicky’s eyes brightened, and she squeezed Gigi’s hand tightly.
“It would be a dream come true.”
So since that day, they considered themselves an official couple- and every one of their friends never heard the end of it.
That day, however, Gigi felt more lucky than ever to have a supportive girlfriend like Nicky. She was the one who motivated her to get her work done, get the interview booked, get out of bed, get ready, and finally get her ass interviewed. And she was also the one who was there to celebrate when Gigi came home grinning, gushing about how amazing the interview went.
“She said she was impressed by my work. Violet Chachki liked MY work! And not only that, but she said she wanted to work with me from the moment she saw my portfolio.” Gigi could almost cry, she was so happy. Not only about the job- but about the heightened possibility that she could be spending the rest of her life in Paris with Nicky. And surely enough, she received a call only two days later offering her a position. Nicky hosted a wonderful party for Gigi with all of their best friends, a lot of dancing, and a lot of alcohol. It almost made them forget about the fact Gigi was still due to fly back to LA in a few days time. She would only be gone two and a half weeks - just enough to get everything organised back home for her move to Paris - but Nicky knew it was going to feel like a lifetime. When the day came that they had to say goodbye at the airport, it was a mess- mascara stained coats and puffy eyes boarding the flight, knowing they would see each other soon again but still torn at the idea of missing each other’s touch. They video called every day, getting used to the change in time zones that meant Gigi would wake up when Nicky was having dinner, resulting in many pretend dinner dates while Gigi ate her breakfast. Gigi enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her mother before leaving LA for good, while Nicky spent her time catching up on everything she had missed with Crystal. But the eighteen days they spent apart from each other only made them realise how much of an impact the other had made in their life. Nights felt a little bit colder, and days felt a little bit longer. It was hard to put a finger on exactly what felt different– rather it just felt like a small piece of their life had gone missing. What both of them did know, however, was the love they felt for each other. Every video call they kept the three words on their lips, neither of them letting it out in fear of rushing the other. So their love went unspoken yet strongly felt; in every exchange they had where they would lock eyes and feel it rise in their throats, or every time they would hear the other’s voice and at the same time hear their heartbeat pound a little louder. When the day came that they reunited in Paris’ airport, it was as if their wiring reconnected from the first embrace, lighting up their lives once again.
But even when they got back home and Gigi unpacked her belongings - for good, this time - Nicky still found it impossible to spit out the words she so desperately fixated on. The same went for Gigi, who had planned for the moment the entire flight home but lost all conviction when she set foot in the airport. That night, however, Nicky knew she had to do something about it before they fell asleep. Which was a decision she made as she watched her girlfriend get ready for bed, as they usually did.
“I missed this.” Nicky said, sitting next to the sink waiting for Gigi to finish brushing her teeth. Gigi spat out her toothpaste and turned to Nicky, confused.
“You missed me brushing my teeth? Out of all things?”
“I mean, it was the small things I missed. You know? Like this, getting to watch you get ready for bed and do your adorable nighttime routine. Or going to bed and having someone to warm my cold feet. Or getting out of bed in the morning and hearing music coming from the kitchen. And I missed having someone to correct me when I used English wrong, I missed having someone to sing with me in the car in the mornings, and I missed having coffee with my girlfriend after work.”
Gigi was tearing up at this point. It felt so crazy that anyone could feel that way about her. And she knew what Nicky meant– those were all the things she had missed too. Nicky stepped towards her, and pulled her into a deep hug.
“I love you, Gigi.”
Gigi melted into her arms. “I love you too, Nicky.” Pulling away, Gigi softly put her hands around Nicky’s face, and kissed her with more desire than she had ever felt. And at that very point in time, it felt like the entirety of Paris was their own. The city of love shined just for them, in all of its heartache and glory. From their Parisian high, they never wanted to come down.

Top 10 Albums of 2019
Okay, since there are quite a few albums on this list I’m going to make my reviews a little smaller, which is sad because they’re already small but if anyone wants a detailed review of a whole album, just let me know and I’d be happy to dive deep into the album or song or EP. Anyway, let’s get started since this is practically the same as my Top EPs of 2019, but instead it’s albums, so I don’t have to give a detailed intro.
10. Singular Act II by Sabrina Carpenter
Okay, to start off we have Sabrina Carpenter’s second act of her Singular project and it’s on this list so that means that I enjoyed it, BUT I would have liked more songs like Exhale or even Pushing 20. By that I mean that I would have liked her other songs to have more lyrics and not just repeating the same words over and over again. I guess I just wanted more vulnerable songs from Sabrina but I still love the album. My favourite song is by far Exhale. (Who saw that coming?)
9. Once Upon a Mind by James Blunt
For this one I didn’t even know James Blunt was making new music this year and was surprised when I found out he released Cold and then a whole album. James Blunt’s voice just makes me really happy because it’s super unique and calming, but most of his songs sound the same. That’s fine if your in the mood for it, but I’m not always in the mood for it. I can say though that most of his songs make me want to get up and dance with him and I like how he uses real instruments in his songs and almost always has a guitar playing. My favourite song is probably Monsters followed closely by The Greatest.
8. Was It Even Real? by Olivia O’Brien
Olivia O’Brien is another new artist that I really fell in love with this year. She is really good at writing songs, and her voice is very uniquely hers which I like. She doesn’t try to be something she’s not which really shows and makes her even more special. That being said, I do miss her old songs that did sound a little bit more mainstream and softer, not as sharp as her new songs. This album is also filled with sadness and anger which can get exhausting at a point, but when the album first came out, I couldn’t stop listening to it. My favourite song is the last song that leaves the album on a happier note with Love Myself which is all about trying to accept who you are, which really hit a heartstring and I loved that.
7. YOU by James Arthur
I also wasn’t ready for this album and didn’t even know it came out until months later. I’ve really loved James Arthur’s voice for a while, but I just never really committed to loving him until I heard this album and instantly knew I needed it. I really love both his upbeat songs and his slower songs equally which doesn’t always happen with me. I usually just fall for the slow songs, but that really changed in this album where the first half is more upbeat and the second half is slower, but I love them both so much. His songs are all really well done with the music really complimenting his voice well. Even though I really love his upbeat songs, my favourite song is still a slower one, Quite Miss Home that just gives me shivers every time I listen to it.
6. Romance by Camila Cabello
For this album I’ve already done a song by song review when it first came out in the beginning of December so if your interested in that, it’s under December 2019 song review on my post list. I really love this album and I’m so happy how many happy songs there are because that essentially means that Camila’s happy which makes me happy. I’ve loved Camila Cabello since Fifth Harmony and was obsessed with her first solo album and she really just keeps growing and growing. Honestly she’s my favourite from Fifth Harmony and I was very excited when she left them to pursue her solo career. My favourite song is First Man which made me cry the first couple times I heard it.
5. A Place We Knew by Dean Lewis
I first found out about Dean Lewis when he released Waves and I loved it. Then I kept forgetting about him until his new songs popped up on my YouTube feed. I became really obsessed with Be Alright when it first came out and finally kept him on my radar and was ready when his album dropped. Many of his songs do sound the same, but his songwriting skills are quite good while the songs that do stand out are really out of this world. I love so many of his songs, which is why the albums at number five, but the best one is definitely Half a Man which really is beautiful and vulnerable and raw.
4. Lover by Taylor Swift
This album was the only one that really surprised me this year. All the other albums that I knew were coming out I had high expectations for but not this one. I’m not a Swift fan and really didn’t love her last couple albums and miss her old country youth. But when Lover came out I had to try it out because it’s Taylor Swift, and I was very surprised on how many songs I loved on this album. I thought I would only like at most three or four songs on the album, but I love 90 percent of it. She’s an amazing songwriter which I’ve always known but on this album the songs sound good AND are beautifully written. It’s been a while since I could say that with confidence about Taylor Swift. My favourite song is Cornelia Street which I loved since I first heard it, but I have to also mention Soon You’ll Get Better which made me bawl the first couple times I heard it.
3. World War Joy by The Chainsmokers
When Closer was released and took the world by storm I found both The Chainsmokers and Halsey. I will be forever grateful for that, since now Halsey is my second favourite artist of all time, and The Chainsmokers are in my top ten. When The Chainsmokers released their album Memories… Do Not Open, I fell in love with them. I was not disappointed with this album. They are amazing creators and they are just getting better. Every song on this album is good and most of them are great. My favourite is Kills You Slowly which is one of only two songs that they don’t have a feature, which are usually my favourite by them.
2. The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change by Nina Nesbitt
I found out about Nina Nesbitt on YouTube through her music videos for both The Moments I’m Missing and The Best You Had. I loved the songs but didn’t buy them on iTunes because I was still unsure about her. That was two years ago, and I kept her on my radar. I’m glad I did. When she started to release more singles from her upcoming album, I was impressed. And then her album dropped and I listened to her story. Now her album is my second favourite of the year. She’s an amazing songwriter and singer and with everything she's been through in the music industry, she came back stronger than ever. The whole concept of the album is about always looking forward and knowing that things will get better when it doesn’t feel that way. I can’t even say for sure which one song is my favourite from the album so I’ll name a few: Empire, Is It Really Me Your Missing, Last December, Things I Say When You Sleep, The Moments I’m Missing, The Best You Had, and The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change.
1. No.6 Collaborations Project by Ed Sheeran
Now this isn’t a surprise. Anything Ed Sheeran does, I’ll love. This project is no exception. I love how Ed Sheeran just does things he wants to and doesn’t care about fitting into the norm. His songwriting is purely him and the impact he’s had on the music industry is important. He doesn’t worry about what people think about him which is a hard thing to do. I love so many songs on this album including Beautiful People, Best Part of Me, Antisocial, Put It All On Me, and Way To Break My Heart. Ed Sheeran is my favourite artist and songwriter ever and I don’t think that will ever change.
That concludes my favourite albums of 2019.
Until next time!

Women’s History Month
written by : hannah
published : march 31st, 2018
woman.
what does that word mean to you? does it mean “an adult human female”? or maybe it means “a wife, girlfriend, or lover”? you possibly have another definition for it.
well, throw all of those away.
why? because none of those denotations matter. a woman is so much more than a simple description provided by the dictionary or what was fed into your mind.
women are warriors. they micromanage every aspect of their lives, and still accomplish taking care of their family and others they care about. no one asked them to, but they still follow through.
women are strong. no matter what obstacle is placed in their life, they always find the way around it. and if there isn’t a clear path? they make one. they don’t need a man to do so for them, because they got this on their own.
women are so much more than “housewives.” no, they don’t have to take care of the house. no, they don’t have to stay home and raise the children while the man goes to work, and they don’t have to want to be a princess. they don’t have to be demoted to so-called girl jobs.
you hear all the time that “girls can do anything a guy can do”, yet how much of that do you really believe? does it just come in through one ear and exit the other?
a woman can be a successful specialist in any of the STEM fields. a woman can be a thriving construction worker, or a pilot, or a firefighter, or military personnel, or a police officer. hell, even a video game tester.
it is time we stop trying to tell the female gender that there are boundaries to what they can do. times are changing, and this long-running issue has to change with it.
if you’re a girl, please listen.
you can and will be whoever you want to be, okay? don’t let no one and nothing tell you that you can’t do something. do not keep “can’t” in your vocabulary. do the impossible. be the impossible. you’re an unstoppable force, even when you don’t feel as such. just be well aware that the possibilities are endless, and limits are just created because the rest of the world is scared of what you will accomplish.
i am saying this today because it is march 31st, the last day of women’s history month, and i haven’t seen any recognition for it. maybe it’s just me, but i don’t find it fair.
we celebrate hispanic history month, black history month, etc, and yet when it’s time for the women to shine, nothing is said. what is that supposed to say about our society?
look, i’m not here to give some unexplainably long speech about women, but i would be ashamed of myself if i didn’t mention anything at all.
michelle obama.
oprah winfrey.
selena quintanilla (who would be 46 , if she wasn’t murdered twenty - three years ago today).
aretha franklin.
rosa parks.
lea michele.
naya rivera.
amber riley.
jenna ushkowitz.
jane lynch.
dianna agron.
heather morris.
becca tobin.
melissa benoist.
danielle panabaker.
jayma mays.
idina menzel.
demi lovato.
candice patton.
emily rickards.
hayley kiyoko.
halsey.
selena gomez.
sabrina carpenter.
rowan blanchard.
zendaya.
emeraude toubia.
katherine mcnamara.
alisha wainwright.
those are just a few, but what do they have in common? they are all women, and they all are or were strong and special people in the world.
but, of course, we can’t forget the every-day femme fatales. for example,
my mother.
my aunts.
my female cousins.
jeanette.
yuleanna.
emily.
marisol.
mal.
riley.
they are all beautiful and independent women who have or will do many, many great things.
my point is, every person in the female gender are amazing. or, at least, 99.9% of them. and every second that passes is history, so they are all making history every day.
this is our month, and i don’t know about you, but i’m going to celebrate us all year long because damn, do we deserve it.
we have come a long way from where we began ( AND I’LL TELL YOU ALL ABOUT IT WHEN I SEE YOU AGAINNNN ), and i’m so excited to see where we go from here.
no matter what happens, you’re going to be stuck with us, men. why not make this situation pleasant instead of sexualizing us, treating us like objects or property, and deciding with your misogynistic minds that we’re less in any way?
we’re beauty, we’re grace, we’ll punch you in the face.
we’re smart, classy, and very bad-assy.
we have good hearts, soft and strong, yet we’re unapologetic and honest.
we are who you would want to go to war beside, but also who you’d want to marry. that is, if we don’t decide to marry each other —
we are women.
and we are proud of it.

L’OFFICIEL HOMES - INTERVIEW
I: Long time no see. How are things?
Leith: Glad to see you again! Things are great, they could be better though (laughs).
I: (laughs) Absolutely agree. Nevertheless, you seem to have a non-stop pathway in your modelling and writing career still.
Leith: Everything is going great, and I’m aware of how lucky I am to be traveling still and working with amazing producers and colleagues when it comes to composing songs for more artists invested in my writing. As for my modelling jobs, everything had to be on pause if it’s not an amateur gig, being really honest here.
I: (nods and proceeds to continue) We know you’ll be back in New York by the time this interview is out. Anything new going on?
Leith: Lots of things, luckily. I have some new songs for a few K-Pop artists that you’ll be hearing about in the upcoming weeks, and I’m very excited.
I: By now, you are a long time-worker for CHUNG HA and MNH Entertainment. You wrote hits like “Gotta Go“ and “Roller Coaster” as examples. Should we expect to read your name on the credits of her full-length album that’s coming very soon?
Leith: (laughs) Can’t really say anything, but I love working with MNH in general. I co-wrote a track for their girl-group BVNDIT also, so we’ll see. You surely should be expectant of CHUNG HA, she’s always delivering great pop music.
I: We also know you’ve been working a in Los Angeles for a few months…
Leith: It’s no news that I’ve been writing there too. Los Angeles is such a weird place, in my opinion. Not to say that Manhattan or even Brooklyn are better, but the aura around L.A is so different, and I’m not speaking of the regular weather around there, it’s more about the people.
I: (laughs) Wasn’t a good experience?
Leith: (doubts about answering) Wouldn’t say bad, but wouldn’t say good either. Still, I got to write more for artists like Sabrina Carpenter and even wrote a few lyrics for an upcoming project that I’m really excited about.
I: That sounds amazing! But you’re no undercover in the international writing industry anymore. Your other long-time collaborator Mabel had her biggest hits thanks to your hands. Songs like summer-hits “Don’t Call Me Up” and “Mad Love” reached high status like Platinum in America, and X2 Platinum in the UK. What do you think it was the mayor factor for this outcome?
Leith: I truly believe it’s all in the people; if they relate to the lyrics then they will surely hear it again and build a special link with the song, you know? I also have to give huge credit to Mabel and her execution of the songs I wrote for her. From “Don’t Call Me Up” to the Tiesto collab “God Is a Dancer”, I had the greatest time while learning a lot about her. She can dance, sing and it’s fully charismatic and engaged with her fanbase. I’m so happy to see her on top.
I: We’re happy to see her as a Main Pop Girl nowadays, too! Is there a dream collaboration for you?
Leith: I’d love to write for BLACKPINK. It’s up there in my goals, and they are having a comeback in a few days so I’m excited. I think I’d also like to write for Dua Lipa or Britney Spears. I think I had what it takes when it comes to a perfect Pop Formula for them to take on a song written by me.
I: Lastly, is there anything you want to say for aspiring writers or models reading this?
Leith: I don’t have much to say other than put up on a hardwork. It sounds cliché but it got me where I am now, and I’m still building it. (laughs) …But overall, just trust your guts and be passionate about what you write about. If there is something that even you don’t like, scrap it. Don’t overwork it. There’s no shame in trying again, that’s a process that a writer will always go through. Don’t put on a negation phase and always be reciprocate. As for modelling, I know things are hectic these days and I hope everyone’s taking care of themselves. Still, try to be confident in your way of being around others without being sassy, remain kind to others, and you’ll get to see the light. The fashion industry is already a complex jungle so try to make a few friends, organically.
I: Thank you, Leith! Hope to see you soon.
Leith: My honour, see you all soon for sure.

Danielle Fishel + Jensen Karp’s Romantic + Whimsical Wedding Day
You know how sometimes it feels like a certain person would be your best friend if you ever met them in real life? That’s how we feel about Danielle Fishel —someone who has brought a lot of laughter and joy into our living rooms. She’s stepping behind the camera these days, directing Disney Channel favorites like Raven’s Home and Sydney to the Max (premiering 2019), and she left an imprint on America’s heart as Topanga in our TGIF fave, Boy Meets World. SO…when we heard she recently got married, we were so totally over the moon!! Jensen is the Executive Producer and creator of the TBS show, Drop The Mic, and the Executive Producer of the upcoming Unqualified (also on TBS) starring Shaquille O’Neal and Ken Jeong. And LA locals will recognize his voice from KROQ’s Kevin and Bean weekday morning show. Basically, these two are total rock stars and today we are SO excited to share an exclusive first look at their dreamy wedding at the Carondelet House in Los Angeles!
Danielle gave us the goods behind the day’s details, beginning with a look at how the wedding design came together:
The design process for us was all about hiring great vendors who pulled the design together. Each one added in a little something fun and unique so we ended up with a look that was completely custom and really fit us as a couple. Our planner, Lisa Gaskarth with Union3 Events, took our ideas and expanded on them to design this romantic fall aesthetic with some really unique pieces. For example, when we picked linens out at La Tavola, we decided to use their rodeo linen which has little horses and cowboys all over it. It was an out of the box, quirky idea that we took a chance on and it ended up kind of being the inspiration for the whole wedding. We loved it so much we’re even using the fabric to make pillows for our new house!
Sometimes inspiration comes from the most unexpected of places! Jillian McQuerrey of B.O.B. Photography captured all those fun details of the day and some seriously sweet moments between D + J—let’s have a look!
Delightful Details
We came into the planning process with a few personalized pieces in the works like our custom pins and logo by Clark Orr which is a play on our last names, both including fish!
Danielle wore a little something blue in the form of these Bella Belle shoe soles!
Jensen custom designed Danielle’s engagement ring and their wedding bands were from XIV Karat in Beverly Hills.
The Wedding Party
Danielle’s bridal party included Sabrina Carpenter, Jamie Leff Choi, and Danielle Robb. The gals donned black gowns and carried some seriously gorgeous fall-boho bouquets by Honey & Poppies!
The groomsmen, Justin Siegel, Matthew Robinson, John Mayer, and Chris Bentz, wore black suits of their choice. D + J wanted everyone to be comfortable and were less worried about being perfectly matched.
Aren’t they so sweet?!
And HELLO, doesn’t she look stunning? We love Danielle’s approach to her hair + makeup:
I only knew that I wanted to feel like a prettier version of my everyday self. I have worked with Laurie Heaps and Julie Cuomo for YEARS and not only are they incredibly talented, but they are also dear friends for life. I didn’t have a hair or makeup trial as I just trusted them to work their magic and I knew I’d love it. Julie got my skin wedding ready with a few peels at her spa, Jolie Beaute Wellness Spa, and then she did incredible skin prep before even starting my makeup (which she also executed flawlessly).
I only told Laurie I wanted to wear my hair up (it was a request of Jensen’s to see my whole face) and I had no idea what she planned to do. I also have no idea how she did what she did but I almost cried when I looked in the mirror at the end. I am absolutely obsessed with the Jennifer Behr pieces she used and my hair stayed perfectly all night and was very comfortable.
A Romantic + Whimsical Ceremony
We wanted our florals to be unique, romantic, and whimsical and we really wanted a dramatic floral hanging piece above the area where we said, “I do.” It was also the backdrop for our sweetheart table. We (Danielle, Jensen, and Lisa) met with Megan from Honey & Poppies and told her those super basic details and she absolutely ran with it. At every turn, we were amazed at what she had done and now we’re asking her to make us a permanent version of the hanging ceremony piece as art in our home. All in all, the venue felt so warm and full of love that day and that’s what mattered most to us.
Our Musical Choices
Processional: Family and Bridal Party: Processional: Stand By Me by Stringspace Orchestra | Bride: Pachelbel Meets U2 by Jon Schmidt
Recessional: Folding Clothes by J. Cole
First Dance: John Mayer performed XO by Beyoncé
My brother was our officiant which was really special to both of us. Of all the aspects of the wedding, our ceremony seemed to be everyone’s favorite element. My brother did such a good job (his first time as an officiant) and he was personal, funny, touching, and just the right length. We wrote our own vows and I think they were the right amount of engaging and sentimental. I can’t wait to relive it on video.
Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding
Jensen's vows. He told the story of how we both hated Thailand when we visited and the whole room erupted in laughter. His vows made perfect turns from hilarious to absolutely touching (everyone shed a tear when he mentioned wishing his father Larry, who passed away ten years ago, could be there with us), and romantic. Our ceremony was the highlight of our wedding hands down.
The Newlyweds: Mr. & Mrs. Karp!
SO stunning, these two!
Wondering about Danielle’s utterly dreamy dress? We’ve got the cute story behind her look!
Shortly after Jensen proposed, I asked him what kind of wedding dresses he liked. He genuinely had no idea as he’d literally never thought about it. He said, “I don’t know. My favorite ‘you’ is jeans and a t-shirt you.” So I quickly googled “t-shirt wedding dress” and the WHITE x Vera Wang for David’s Bridal dress popped up. I stupidly turned my phone around and showed it to him and he said, “Oh my God, I love that!” I made a mental note to try that dress on when I started my search and it ended up being the dress I loved. I had my seamstress (A Stitch In Time) change the sleeve to a slightly longer, scalloped sleeve and close up the open back a few inches. I ended up being so happy with it and felt comfortable all night.
A Candlelit Reception
D + J opted to skip several traditional wedding moments like speeches, dances with parents, and cutting the cake in favor of more opportunities for conversations over the table and lots of dancing!
For us, the most important part was that we became husband and wife. After that I just wanted everyone to have an amazing time and not be interrupted with more words and photo opportunities I don’t love anyway (I knew I wouldn’t frame a cake eating picture for my home)!
We’re definitely onboard with this cowboy linen from La Tavola Fine Linen!
Danielle turned to borrowed BLU to help hand select each piece for the tablescape. From chargers and plates to copper water tumblers and rose gold flatware, the fall romance seeped through in every detail!
Our Advice To Those Planning Now
Make as many details specific to the two of you as you can. We had a logo, pins, custom napkins with fun facts about us, among other things, and those were the details that people commented on the most because they were unique to our wedding. Also, hire vendors whose work you love and people you can trust and then let them run wild. Don't micromanage them! You hired them for a reason...let them do what they do best and then be pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Best thing I did outside of marrying Jensen :)
How fun is this reunion!!
Oh, and the perks to having John Mayer as one of your best friends? The best first dance in all of history, of course. John sang his cover of Beyoncé’s song XO as it was a personal fave of Danielle + Jensen.
And definitely don’t miss their gorgeous wedding film by Atomic Tangerine! So magical….
To Danielle + Jensen, we’re so thrilled for you and in awe of your beautiful wedding! Congrats from all of us at GWS!

Well, looks like it’s that time of year again where I pretend to be a consistent blogger. I’m really hoping I’ve got my shit together enough to actually write regularly next year, but don’t go holding your breath – I say the same every bloody year. (Cut to the final paragraph of my 2017 post where I remind myself to write before 30/12/2018… To be fair I have done, one..) The only thing I seem to be consistent at is posting a yearly update exactly 365 days later, is that some sort of schedule? Unlikely.
Anyways, here I am right on cue to waffle endlessly about the things I’ve enjoyed in this particular whirlwind of a year. Anyone who knows me will know that music plays a huge part in my life, and if you read the title of this post you may realise that it has been a huge part of my year. As I began writing this post I came to realise that a lot of my favourite things about this year were music related (that and the fact that anyone I’ve listened to ever decided to release an album this year), so it looks like we’ve come to some sort of theme. Niamh’s Blog: The Musical?
I’ve had a few amazing live music experiences once again this year, no surprises there. One of my top moments of the year would without a doubt be when I travelled to London for the weekend to finally go and see The Vamps with some of my best friends I have made on Twitter because of them. It was such a surreal weekend, to finally be with the friends you’ve known for so long in the happiest place you all know watching the people who brought you together, perform. And I can’t wait to do it all again in 2019, hopefully in more places than just London. A few of us also went to see a Summer show The Vamps did in Leeds Millenium Square which was so so much fun. I may be almost 20 and seeing a band 3 times+ a year, which would seem silly to many people, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. When you know you know. I also finally saw Demi Lovato live which was an incredible experience, she is such an amazingly talented and inspirational woman. I attended Fusion Festival at the beginning of September too, which gave me a chance to see some artists I had seen before again including Shawn Mendes, Years & Years and James Arthur (and The Vamps were there too of course…) Concerts are my favourite place in the world, and a year without them would be a sad year for me, and I can’t wait to fill 2019 with so many more.
Keeping to the music theme, obviously I was on top of all the new album releases this year, and boy was there a lot of them, where to start? I can’t go without saying that The Vamps released the Day Edition of their two-part album in July this year, which as always did not disappoint. They’re such hard-working boys, constantly writing and performing, and this album did not fail to show that. Little Mix also released the incredibly empowering LM5 which was such a step in the music industry in my opinion. They really took women empowerment to the next level with a message in every single song. Again, they never disappoint! 5 Seconds of Summer, The 1975, Sabrina Carpenter, Jorja Smith, James Bay, the list could go on forever of how many amazing albums I listened to in the last 365 days. It seemed like everybody certainly upped their game and poured their heart and soul into their craft.
In terms of the silver screen – again it was definitely the year of the musicals in my opinion. I began the year by seeing The Greatest Showman, of which songs are still in the charts today, almost a year after its release! Speaks for itself really. If you didn’t enjoy this film then I wouldn’t quite know what to say to you about that! The Mamma Mia sequel also premiered at the box office this year which I was quite skeptic of at first, I’m always worried a great film will be ruined by its sequel, however Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again definitely outdid itself, and I was sobbing like there was no tomorrow at the ending. Got to love a film that makes you cry. On a related note another iconic musical this year was A Star Is Born which again was incredible, and also left me in tears, no shocker there I’m definitely emotionally unstable. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper made this film everything, without them I think the remake could have fallen flat on its arse, but their passion and stardom in themselves set the film up for every award it deserves to win. It still upsets me that Hugh Jackman didn’t win 385202 awards for the same passion he showed The Greatest Showman. The songs and casting in these films were done perfectly, and I think everyone will take away a special song in their heart from viewing one of these.
To flip slightly from music to another thing I love, my makeup collection seems to have multiplied by four this year and I’m running out of storage room despite buying a new dressing table for it all just at the start of this year… oops. Makeup Revolution have definitely upped their game this year, from dupes of high-end products to fabulous influencer collabs and pigmented eyeshadow, their affordable range is never one to miss out on. If you’re looking to purchase anything of theirs, their Conceal & Define Foundation and Concealer have completely changed my makeup game this year, and at £9 and £4 you can’t complain at all! The Stila Liquid Eyeshadows have also changed my makeup life these last few months. I love a cut crease eyeshadow, and these make it so so easy to do. I’ve also loved the Milani blush and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sugar Glow Kit – both have been staples in many influencers kits for years, and I can see why, perfect for any day and any look, and not breaking the bank for what they are. I also finally received the James Charles Morphe Palette for Christmas which I am beyond excited to have a play around with and write a post on at New Year!
Clearly it’s been a fun and particularly musical year, and continuing to write is an actual new years resolution this time, so watch this space!
Here’s to more waffly blogging, more music, and more fun in 2019!
Here are my thoughts on a page. Until next time.
2018: A Year In Music Well, looks like it's that time of year again where I pretend to be a consistent blogger.
