Clari!
Hello! I was just wondering if you have a detailed description of what Touya-nii's tattoos look like? I feel inspired to draw him, and you mentioned they're like, bio-mech I believe, but if you had a more in depth picture in your pretty head of what they look like, I would love to hear it!
Thanks! š
hi hi! <3 waaaah first and foremost WOW i am so honoured you want to draw him!!! thatās so awesome and it makes me so giddy!!! <3
so hereās the description of his tattoos from my series itself:
Every inch of the exposed skin of his arms is covered in intricate, seamlessly flowing tattoosāor, for a moment, you thought it was tattoos, plural. Upon closer inspection, you realize that each arm is actually covered inĀ oneĀ giant tattoo, giving a new definition to the term āsleeveā. Itās all black ink, not a splash of colour anywhere, depicting an extremely detailed and anatomically correct mechanical arm, complete with what wouldāve been joints, ligaments and bones in the form of wires and steel. The tattoos extend onto the tops of his hands, made to look as if surgical staples are peeling his skin back to reveal the robot beneath. This same tattoo continues up his neck, along his jaw and onto his cheeks, all the way to his bottom lip, spreading across his entire face and disappearing into his hairline and onto his ears. Finally, thereās a small portion of the tattoo underneath his eyes, the surgical staples lining the edges of the face tattoos, too.
annnd here is an ask where i describe touyaās tattoos and provide a few photos. the issue with touyaās tattoos is that theyāre so delicate, so intricate, so finely detailed that they probably wouldnāt be possible to actually do in real life, so i have no reference photos for that! zombie boy (rick genest) is the closest iāve ever found, at least in terms of detail + delicacy, and it was his tattoos i had in mind when creating touya-niiās. i hope this helps a lil! <3 let me know if you have any other questions!
#MY PRETTY HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!#oh my gosh you are so lovely <333#i really hope this helps a lil!!!#please have a wonderful weekend and stay safe n hydrated!! <3#clari gets mail

I feel like a very key difference in what makes decent of below eroguro and good and above eroguro is whether or not it has yellow stuff in it. I'm not talking about piss and such, but actual stuff within the body like fat that is not only anatomically correct and thus adds to the realism but also adds to the eroticism and quality of it all. A common issue that I find with such artists is that they draw every inside part of the body as if it is on the spectrum of red to white with of course some pink in the middle, when that's objectively not how the body looks like or works. Like, titties don't look completely red on the inside like they're big tomatoes or something, they have a lot of fat in them so a lot of the inside is yellow actually. It really adds to the whole work of art to pay attention to these sort of details and sort of play doctor with your drawings and animations and such instead of just going to the far mor dull red to white spectrum route, or god forbid the even more boring red mush route with minimal detail and everything looking the same. The best examples you could probably find of this are on pixiv due in part to how twitter's algorithm works on that sort of stuff, and of course direct hentai sites like the rule34 booru and others as well. One might be surprised if they've never looked into or thought about it, but eroguro is one of the most art consouriey fetish things you can get into in terms of art detail due to all of the biological details involved to the point where you more easily than other instances don't evem have to be turned on by it in order to appreciate the artistic craft. It's very interesting stuff to look at in a not too disimilar way that one might examine the art of a detailed horror artist but with less horror and often more horny.

and the correct answer was b :D choosing animals for this was difficult, i had to strike a balance between things that weren't so recognizable that just anyone could get it but not so obscure that only specialists would get them. i might do one of these in the future with more, weirder skulls
profiles of each animal under the cut
A. Dimorphodon
(left and right both by mark witton)
dimorphodons are a type of pterosaur, a sister group to dinosaurs which is its closest relative of the ones above. they are both archosaurs, which you can tell by the extra hole in front of their eye socket
dimorphodons are a decently archaid species of pterosaur, they lived in the early jurassic and have a very long tail in comparison to their more derived relatives that spring up later in the jurassic and into the cretaceous. theyre pretty small, which is why they were still able to fly with such a long tail, and had the characteristic ridiculous huge head that you see in most pterosaurs. it's estimated to have been a pretty good climber and a pretty poor flier based on its wing proportion and ankle structure
B. Majungasaurus
(top by scott hartman, bottom by cisiopurple on deviantart)
majungasaurus are a dinosaur, you can tell by the extra hole in front of they eye and on the jaw! specifically, they're abelisaurids, which are a super weird group of theropods (the group that contains t rex and raptors). anatomically for theropods abelisaurids are super unusual in a number of ways. while lots of carnivorous theropods have reduced forelimbs, abelisaurids take it to a whole new level in making their forelimbs completely nonfunctional (even t rex could grab things!) and facing backwards as if permanently naruto running. on top of that they have a weirdly blunt skull, thick tail, and horn-like structures on their skulls. what exactly this group was doing is a bit of a mystery. one hypothesis ive seen floated around is that they were specialized to hunt sauropods (long necked dinosaurs) by using their blunt snout to do something disgustingly nicknamed "flesh grazing", where they tear off chunks of the massive living animal while leaving it alive. majungasaurus lived on madagascar, and are also one of a couple dinosaur species with direct evidence of cannibalism!
C. Dimetrodon
(top by scott hartman, bottom by franz anthony)
dimetrodon are a synapsid, which is actually the group which contains mammals! you can tell because they only have one hole behind their eye socket instead of 2 (diapsids) or 0 (anapsids). all the people in the notes who said it looked like a mammal werent too far off! dimetrodons are pelycosaurs, which are a more basal group of synapsids compared to therapsids, the group which contains mammals. dimetrodon lived in the permian and went extinct around 40 million years before the first dinosaurs even appeared. the past decade has seen a LOT of controversy over this animal, specifically stemming from a paper written in 2012 that was kept private and disseminated to the public through a game of telephone. the basic gist of it was that the tips of the spines were probably not fully covered by the sail, but miscommunication led to people believing the sail only covered half or even none of the spines. apart from that a few other things about our view of them changed, including it going from walking with a totally sprawled posture like a lizard to a semi sprawled posture like an alligator
D. Mosasaurus
(top by crowncrocopoda on deviantart, bottom by henry sharpe)
mosasaurus are actually a group of aquatic monitor lizards! they are diapsids like dinosaurs, but unlike dinosaurs they belong to the group lepidosauria (lizards, snakes) instead of the group archosauria (crocodiles, birds). mosasaur skulls are a bit weirder than they look at first glace, they have a second set of jaws on the roof of their mouths
mosasaurs lived a very similar lifestyle to modern toothed whales and seem to have been extremely opportunistic hunters. you can find mosasaur bitemarks in just about anything from the cretaceous, including amonite shells!
feel free to tag/reply your answer and why you think so (unless youre familiar with the above species in which case shhhhhh)

Well, the locked heart-shaped with the two-headed snake probably represents how Janus has probably locked himself away from the sides to prevent getting hurt (again). He took his heart and just... clickity click. This is something that I already thought would be happening after Roman's comment about Janus's name.
Moving on, wouldn't it be logical (hah, I'm Logan now) to assume that the dark coloured crown represents Roman? We already know that Roman has pretty major self esteem issues, and after the entire "incident" he was pretty crushed. I mean, we already have theories about him turning to "The Dark Sides" or completely breaking down. But Roman becoming a dark side would mean he turned into something he hates.
The chest with tentacles/eyes/whatever probably represents Remus kind of being locked away, don't you think? Ignoring that all of these have colours of certain sides on them, it fits Remus. Thomas has learned how to tone down Remus, yes, but wasn't it more to control him, instead of accepting him? I don't know about you, but it seemed more of a solution to a problem Thomas was having, like the wedding, instead of seeing Remus as a proper side. Maybe I'm pulling at things, but... there's also a key. And Remus can see it, so could it be, that Remus is going to let himself out the box he's been placed in?
I'll be honest and say I have no idea what the book/tome means. It obviously represents Logan, and it seems to have symbols in it, but that's all I can tell. Nor can I completely tell what the Janus eye and mouth is about, but it's a) not good. b) feels like Janus is plotting something and is pretty mad about it. c) very reminiscent of Attack on Titan. d) it's only one side of Janus. Finally, I can't say for sure about Pattons heart either, but we'll get back to the details on that.
Along those lines, Virgils doll in a cracked glass box and a do not open sign... angst. More angst. I'd take a leap and say that it might be that Virgil, if he's pressed about his emotions, something he's not very open about, if someone unlocks that box... He will shatter. The patches on the raggedy doll are like he's already been put back together once, after all. And once something breaks, it can either be stronger, or it can be weaker. In this case, probably weaker.
Now, going back to Pattons heart. A light blue banner, with lit candles surrounding a clear glass jar with a heart in it. Unlike Janus's heart however, Pattons is almost anatomically correct. While Janus's heart probably only represents his emotions/feelings, Pattons probably represents Thomas's functions as a whole. We know that Patton, as Morality, and the biggest influencer of Thomas, has a lot of control. (That, in my opinion, is a big-ish red flag for the direction of the series and the wellbeing of the sides and Thomas, but that's for another day.) Also, Janus's heart is locked away, while Thomas's almost seems to be on display, of sorts. One more thing about Pattons heart. There's a scar on it. A scar that looks fairly new, yet old enough to have healed a little.
The conclusions you make from the Patton drawing, that's up to you. I'm inclined to move vaguely along the line of Patton is trying to be a little more open, and let others see Thomas's emotions as they are, scars and messiness and all. Maybe that's a little optimistic though.
Of course, these are my own kinda far-reaching theories. Maybe they're just fun little drawings, who knows :D
New lore just dropped yall

That 4chan post was probably the most thing that turned me against Rick Sanchez. Because while there's always the shortcut to writing someone who's smart Sanchez probably embodies that more than any other. All while spouting and directing everything back to intelligence. And while yes the show has on occasion that leaned on the fact that this is a problem with him it doesn't make up for the fact that how the other characters are written and come to bad ends for not following Rick's lead or coming to his conclusions. That's the recent flood of YouTube think piece about how they really need to show Rick failing more especially as he did earlier in season 1 because it gets more and more ridiculous that his smarts are supposed to be realistic if he can very genuinely point out that his flaws are the results of everyone else being idiots.
I think the height of this however though I do believe that season one wasn't quite so bad about it is the first meeseeks episode.
Jerry asked for a very simple tangible goal that can be physically accomplished just with practice and effort. Taking more than a day to do this causes a homicidal standoff in a restaurant. Meanwhile summer and Beth asked for wildly impractical things that are going to affect everyone else around them or existential psychological remedies that are so broad that I kind of shocked that it didn't immediately cause some sort of rampancy
But it's Jerry's wish that causes the problem. All Wellness series is bringing up the idea of purpose meaning etc etc. Even the post-crisis follow up doesn't feel right how did Beth learn about the meeseeks? By contrast and comparison the coyote / wolf wanting to eat Jerry's unemployment check just filled them deliberately stating this is the issue but you kind of want to know wait why is this happening surely there is a Cause. Everything else in the series has a cause or at least a sort of pretense of it and this is getting way too specific just to be coincidental
So it's a Rick and Morty does the fourth version which is make everyone stupid or make everyone fail and say that's a result of them being stupid even when they're being completely reasonable. Then retroactively justify be smart character by having them turned out to be right even though there's absolutely no way and means they could be
Again just one of your problem if it weren't for the fact that the story stops in order to moralize at a character very much as if they're doing so to the audience and then were you forced this. Case in point when we're told Beth is like her father this is using evidence of a box of toys that simply are as functional as things that are offered to children all the time for the night vision goggles to the talking blade weapon. Spider-Man uses spider tracers. I'm pretty sure spy s*** used to be sold the kids. Anatomically correct doll? That's actually been a future and some of them say nothing of the game operation and other educational toys
Saying only a sociopath with one or ask for these things strikes me as really messed up. And again The Show Goes On as if it's making a great moral point with Beth embracing what her father tells her and so on and so forth. The problem is the disconnect in the writing okay that's finally is over her complex about her dad why the hell is he still around because we know Beth is a judgmental cruel person who started to become disillusioned with her father's presence as well as her own excuses there of. So naturally he's still around and she's cool with him and the entire life but don't worry she's not a clone
This is cruel people get to be smart and the insufferable genius which is hardly the fault of Sherlock you can easily Trace it's super popularity going to house the television series
And this is everyone who is a Target and or Mark or an annoyance is obviously stupid. And that just feels a betrayal of what intelligence is where at least learning how to use intelligence in order to navigate the world. You have to learn how to deal with annoyances problems lack of information and so on.
How to tell the difference between a smart character written by a dumb person vs a smart character written by a smart person
The dumb āSmart Characterā: Gets conclusions almost entirely through revelation, lacks methodology, intelligence is hyped up constantly by others, lacks realistic problem solving, knowledge comes solely through a nebulous mental encyclopedia which always gives them the needed facts at the right time, seemingly disconnected from human thought process because they are guided into decision making through plot, not the merits of their work.
The smart Smart Character: Conclusions made by working out problems and following a practical methodology. Knowledge is gained and learned from experience through said methodology, not plucked from a mental encyclopedia. Act rationally and realistically to problems as if they were in the world and aware of nothing but the world and their immediate circumstances, not afraid to experiment and fail if it means eventually working out a solution.
