I wanted to share this.

It’s by Gustave Doré, the famous illustrator of Dante’s Divina Commedia.

He also illustrated the Bible at some point. And this is his “Job speaks with his friends”.

Anyone familiar among these three? 😆

Thank you for everything, really. Reading and watching Sandman and Good Omens (above all the others) really opened my mind to a different way to approach the theme of universal love and explain it to my 8-year-old daughter. I’ll always be grateful for that 🏳️‍🌈

L’actrice Pamela Gidley (11 juin 1965 - 16 avril 2018) interprétait Brigitte dans la série Le Caméléon (V.O. : The Pretender). Nom complet :  Pamela Catherine Gidley

Adolescente, elle réside à New-York, et fait ses études à Salem, N.H. Elle commence sa carrière professionnelle en tant que modèle et fait ainsi des couvertures pour le magazine Seventeen (juillet 1981) :

... que l’actrice feuillète dans une scène de son 1er film Skate Gang. Elle remporte par ailleurs un prix de beauté en 1985.

En 1988, en tant que comédienne professionnelle, elle participe à un atelier d’écriture avec le scénariste, JF Lawton qui a reçu une bourse du Sundance Institute pour améliorer le scénario du film Pretty Woman. Pamela Gidley tenait alors le rôle de Vivian.

Elle avait déjà rencontré en 1995 l’acteur Jon Gries, son futur partenaire dans la série Le Caméléon, dans sa série Drôle de Chance et se sont de nouveau retrouvés en 1997 dans le film The Maze. 

Elle avait également déjà travaillé avec le réalisateur James Whitmore Jr dans l’Ep. 1.06 de sa série Drôle de Chance .

Elle a retrouvé l’acteur Darren Kennedy en 1999 dans le film Liar’s Poker. Et en 2002, elle retrouve l’acteur Christopher Tyler, qui figure au générique du 2ème TV film, dans l’Ep. 3.08 de son ancienne série Les Experts.

Elle a été mariée avec James Lew de 2005 à 2008.

En 2012, l’actrice quitte Los Angeles et se retire dans le New Hampshire, à Seabrook, pour s’occuper d’un frère malade.

Pretender head canon

My new head canon for Pretender is Miss Parker stopped smoking because she was letting some of her walls down. I know the actress actually quit smoking after season 2. But it coincides with a point where MP was changing. She spent time getting to know Angelo/Timmy again and Jarod. She let him escape, or her gun "jammed". This follows with my other head canon that the smoking was always a defense mechanism. A way for her to put on the facade of being like Mr. Raines or her dad. Jarod says it from the beginning that he knows who she is deep inside. He knows she isn't really this person she projects herself to be. So in Season 3 we notice a shift in her character. She doesn't trust those around her. She also opens her mind more to the truth. They show her trying to quit in other episodes, but she doesn't make it. Now she does, maybe it's because she wants nothing to do with Raines. Not even her pretend, her mask, her facade of him. It's who she pretends to be some days just to get by, just to push the emotions down deep. Sigh. This show. Only this show makes me analyze and look deeper and not take it at face value.

Here's a suggested checklist of 8 activities:

1) Watch at least one Pretender episode (every day)

2) Post a quote from the episode you watched

3) Share a screenshot from the episode you watched

4) Share tP with someone who didn't know about it

5) Check out a tP quiz and try to complete

6) Do an online news search for one of the tP actors and post something you didn't know

7) Make a short tP video to share as a reel (if that is your gift)

8) Finally - post a message/tweet/some other social media quote/pic/anything from tP and tag either the cast or the creators (where possible) saying Happy Anniversary to The Pretender! (Include the anniversary date if you can so they know the anniversary is September 19th and you're celebrating early)
