Prompt 198
Now Bruce was not expecting to reincarnate upon his death. At least he thinks he died, he’s pretty sure he did. There wasn’t any other reason for him to be a well, literal baby. Around two he thinks, which fits well with the fact that it’s around that time that babies start forming memory recall, if he, well, remembered correctly.
But while he knew about reincarnation thanks to Shayera and Carter, he’d never exactly given it much thought towards himself. Because seriously, what were the chances of such a thing as him being given another chance?
So he was quite surprised at his situation, experimentally opening and closing pudgy hands that looked well, just a tiny bit off. He’d never been that pale before, he thinks, even back when he never went outside like, ever.
He turned his gaze towards the mobile above him with a sort of idle curiosity- a mixture of bats (ha) and other trinkets he wasn’t familiar with. It also caused him to get his first good look at his parent, asleep on a rocking chair right next to the crib.
Huh. They had the same pale skin he did, albeit in the light it looked like it was slightly tinted blue, and while their hair was white they didn’t exactly look old. They looked surprisingly well rested for raising a toddler too, unless they had a nanny or something similar… He rolled over, managing to very shakily push himself to his feet with the help of the crib.
Why was standing so hard as a toddler? And why did he have his memories of everything except how he had died anyway?
His head whipped up from where they were staring at his feet when he heard a snort, finding his parent awake and standing. Somehow silently enough that he hadn’t noticed- or he was that easily distracted by the unfamiliar giddiness bursting in his chest.
“Morning little bat,” his parent easily picked him up and held him while he inwardly sighed at the nickname. Of course his bat motif would follow him into this life. A low rumbling almost caused him to jump, his body relaxing before he could fully register the sound. The… purring?
Oh.
He wasn’t human this time around.

I am procrastinating homework and finals studying so I'm making another DPxDC au -- or more accurately, I am making an au of an au. or combining two aus to make a third one, because I am Procastinating And thinking about it.
(the part two for my Danny is Jason Todd au is like,,, half-made and I will get around to finishing it, promiiissse)
So the two aus I had in mind were combining, of course, the two clone aus - the Danny Clone and the Damian Clone au. For folks who haven't seen either posts (or saw one but not the other) here are summaries of both:
Damian Clone Au: The LoA make a clone of Damian Wayne specifically to either kill Damian Wayne and have the clone take his place as the heir to the LoA, or to bring him back. At 6 years old though and through magical teleportation mishaps, Baby Damian ends up in the warehouse district of Amity Park and picked up (and later adopted) by Danny Fenton. They develop a brotherly dynamic with one another.
Danny Clone Au: Danny is straight up a clone of Bruce Wayne, doesn't find out until a year after he has his accident. And, for the fun of it, is also mostly-powerless (he retains his ghost sense and a semblance of a ghost core and signature, but no ghost form). His reasoning for becoming Phantom is because he has walked into the lab watching his parents dissecting ghosts post-portal working more times than he can count. And due to this, changes his beliefs from "ghosts are evil" to "ghosts are sentient and sapient beings who don't deserve this treatment". (masterpost pinned on my blog, its currently incomplete) He is also a little GNC, as a treat. Long-haired Danny ftw. Ellie is a halfa because of the ectoplasm that Vlad used, and also the same age as Danny. They call each other twins and she is viciously protective of him. He uses a baseball bat and brass knuckles that I call 'jawbreakers' to fight ghosts.
Now admittedly, not much probably changes with the combination of these aus other than the potential parallels between Damian and Danny, and Bruce and Damian - and of course, I am always a sucker for parallels. Plus Damian's running off would take Danny finding him much longer, since he can no longer fly, but all the more meaningful because he still took so much time to find him.
(It probably also makes their first meeting different as well - Danny wears a ROTTMNT Casey Jones Jr. esq. mask when he goes out, but Damian would recognize lazarus green anywhere. He'd probably try harder to kill him though once he sees his face, since he knows that its not his father but an imposter.)
It also includes what I consider a hilarious conversation: "Since I'm a clone of Bruce Wayne, does this make me your dad or your brother?" "Don't be an idiot, laeazir." "You didn't answer my question."
The biggest change that comes from this is, of course, the fact that Danny now no longer has a leg to stand on with the "you're a human, I am a ghost" excuse in order to prevent Damian to help him with ghost-fighting, because now Danny is also a squishy, fleshy and fragile human just like Damian. And a human who, arguably, has less combat training than Damian and no powers to make up for it.
Now, Danny in both aus are about 16-17-ish in age, so they've had time to adapt to their new vigilante-hero lifestyle, but its still not the same as Damian's training as an assassin. Damian, unlike in the original clone au, remains insistent on his want to help Danny.
And,,, eventually wears him down after weeks or months of sneaking out after him, helping in fights, interfering, arguing, etc. Danny eventually agrees, exhausted, but he makes Damian promise, promise, that he will be careful and to focus on dodging and distraction. At least until Danny can figure out a safer alternative. He wants him as far removed from the fight as he can, he's a child for ancient's sake, after all.
Which is another issue too - if we follow Damian Clone timeline, then Damian is six years old when this happens. I'll be point blank, I do not see Danny ever actually agreeing to let a literal 6 year old go with him. SO, solution, I bump Damian's age to 7 when he arrives in the Fenton Family, and make him freshly eight years old when he finally gets Danny to agree.
It still SUCKS. He is still very much an itty bitty child, but as someone who has seen the difference between a six year old and an eight year old due to working at a daycare, an eight year old is still... slightly feasible. And an 8 year old assassin even more so (even if he hasn't trained properly in nearly a year or so)
So Danny, reluctantly, agrees to let Damian come with him on patrols.
He ghost-proofs Damian's sword (as he has since learned to do with his bat and jawbreakers), makes him a grappling hook and a Fenton thermos, and reluctantly lets Damian come with in his old LoA uniform that he appeared in (with some tailoring and ghost-proofing, because he has since begun to grow out of the uniform).
(and Danny himself also finally starts looking into alternatives to improve his own "suit" - which is all but a hoodie and reinforced jeans and a hockey mask. He needs to set an example to his little brother, goddammit.)
Then, as they're planning for Damian's eventual (dreaded on Danny's part) debut, they sit in their shared room and brainstorm for what to call Damian. "Ellie already uses the name Spirit." Danny says, sitting criss-cross at his desk with the eraser nub of a pencil chewed between his teeth.
(Behind him he has an investigative corkboard set up -- his accident left him with the ability to see ghosts not capable of being seen on the visible plane. 'Stereotypical' ghosts. Between school work, his social life, and ghost fighting, some of his downtime is spent figuring out ways to help them move on. His most recent is a cold case.)
(Bc with Danny, I loove to have him have some sort of trait that ties him in with his original counterpart. Nature vs Nurture and all that. Investigative work can be part of that.)
"What about Wraith?" Damian suggests from the floor, leaning against the bed frame while he goes over one of his english books. They've been practicing his reading and writing.
Danny furrows his brows. "A ghost seen typically shortly after or before someone's death?"
Damian nods. "Yes, it's of a similar cadence to 'Batman and Robin'."
"What's with you and your thing with Batman and Robin?" Danny asks with a playful half-smile, Damian shrugs and looks at his books. Danny sticks the eraser back between his incisors. "Phantom and Wraith... that works, though."
The first night out together, Danny fusses over Damian, making sure every bit of uniform was secured and in place -- something Damian took mild offense over. His outfit was far more reinforced than the juvenile get-up that his older brother wore.
But he let him fuss anyways. It made him loved.
"Now remember, Wraith--"
Damian interrupts him: "Yes, I know, Dany. Avoid and distract. Stay situationally aware. I fear that is something I should be telling you, however. Mother would have your head if she ever saw what your training was like."
(It was, not for the first time, that Damian wondered how his,,, "mother",,, would react if she ever met Danyal. Not good, he knows.)
Danny's shoulders sag, and he sighs. "I believe that, what with that super-secret spy--"
"Assassin."
Danny sends him a half-hearted chagrined look, "Assassin," he corrects, "organization that made you. I'm sure I'd give your mother an aneurysm." When he's finally okay with whatever make-believe issues he found with his suit, Danny reaches for the nearby side table and carefully slips on a black domino mask over Damian's eyes. It was thin, flexible, and made with some kind of material that Danny reassured was environmentally safe.
("Some kind of matieral that Wayne Industries invented awhile ago, Sam bought it for me." Danny told him when he first showed it to him.)
It was also cold. But the chill was made up for, slightly, with Danny's warmer hands smoothing it out over his skin, and ridding of any ridges that could form. Damian isn't sure entirely what Danyal did to keep it stuck onto his face, but when he touches it with his fingers he feels a very faint seam at the edge, and it doesn't budge against his hands. It felt like a second skin.
"There we go." Danny smiles, pulling his hands back. He still looks nervous. "It's not the same as my hockey mask," which sat atop his head, ready to be pulled down, "but I think a domino mask will work better for you considering your background."
He was right, a hockey mask would only hurt Damian's peripheral vision. This mask was thin enough that it didn't.
"Ready to go, Wraith?"
"After you, Phantom."
+++
Damian has much issue with Danny's suit. He can think of a million ways to make it better. It is one of the things he and Samantha Manson can get along with, and the few times they have spent time together they have brainstormed suit ideas. He knows that since Danny took him on as Wraith, he has started to look into better suit alternatives.
However. They are both aware of the same thing:
Danny is not Batman, nor Superman, nor Wonder Woman, nor Aquaman, or the Flash, or Green Arrow, or Nightwing, or any single hero on the public roster. He is also not rich like Lex Luthor or Vlad Masters or Bruce Wayne himself.
He has no money and no contacts, and thus, no way of properly improving his suit to be something even half as safe as the other supers.
And he refuses to let Samantha Manson help him find a way to fix that - even with all that money, Samantha Manson is on an allowance from her parents, and also, despite her other range of abilities, not capable of getting those materials without putting herself on a list of some sort. They are at a standstill.
Damian knows this, because he has asked.
Until one day when Danny is talking about a case he is working on and telling Damian about old adventures he had in the Ghost Zone, does he see his brother get hit with a lightbulb.
He slaps a hand against his forehead and straightens up from his swivel seat. He huffs a laugh, "Of course! Why didn't I think of it sooner?" And he turns on his heel and hurries to his bookshelf, pulling down a notebook and flipping open to an empty page.
Damian frowns, "Laeazir?"
"I know you don't like my suit, Damian," Danny says, striding over to his desk and snatching a pencil out of a cup. He begins jotting something down on the notebook. "And there's nothing I can really do about it because, well, I'm poor in comparison to my facesake, and I don't have the resources to get my hands on someone who would make me a new suit."
"Yes, we have talked about this..." Damian nods slowly, still frowning, and trying to follow his brother's line of reasoning.
Danny shoots him a megawatt, half-tilt smile, his hair tied up into a half-bun. "But! I was thinking about it from the wrong angle. I don't have the living resources to help me get a suit, but..." he trails off, staring at Damian intently.
It dinged in Damian's brain to where he was going, "But you have the undead resources instead." He says, his eyes widening slowly. Of course, of course! Danyal was ridiculously charismatic by accident, and Damian has seen plenty of times where his heart-of-gold had one or two non-hostile ghosts be incredibly grateful to him.
His brother makes a loud, 'ding-ding-ding!' sound, pointing his pencil at Damian as his smile stretches further across his face. In a few quick strides, he was sat down next to Damian and showing him his notebook. "Correct! When I first started out as Phantom a few years ago, I managed to help a ghost who called herself Taylor, and apparently she was a seamstress both in and out of life."
Damian watches as Danny writes the name at the top of the paper, and creates bullet-points down the page. "She said that in return for saving her, I should come find her in the Ghost Zone if I ever need clothes made for me. It's a one-time thing, but I was thinking that she could perhaps help make me a new suit."
Danny turns a bit pink at the ears, and rubs his neck, "I never thought much of it because I didn't think I'd ever go into the Ghost Zone, or ever need ghost clothes, so I forgot about it up until now."
A scoff forces itself out of Damian's mouth, but he is smiling. "Danyal, you are the smartest idiot I have ever met."
For the next hour, both he and Danny make a bullet point list of what both of their suits would need. Reinforcement in certain areas, gauntlets with reinforced knuckles to replace Danyal's jawbreakers. A different weapon than a bat.... a utility belt, reinforced boots. Anything they could think of.
It was Damian's idea to add a cloak to both of their suits, asymmetrical and torn at the edges for a more 'ghostly' look. They have a theme, after all. It's quite fun.
Then Danyal calls up Sam for help in drafting up design ideas. And while Danyal steps mostly to the side when it comes to the design itself, Damian and Sam fill pages with designs until coming up with one they both agreed on and like.
"What about a lightning bolt on the chest?" "Why are we using my traumatic accident as a symbol of my identity?" "Ghosts do it all the time, Danny. Ember sings about her death." "I'm not dead?" "No that won't work, Manson. Shazam already has a giant lighting bolt emblem." "Okay, but I still want to use it somewhere." "How about this?" "...That could work. Okay, now onto your emblem--"
Last was the hard part: getting into the Ghost Zone without the Fenton parents noticing the disappearance of their precious Fenton Specter Speeder. They employed Jazz's help with that. She would get the Fentons out of the house long enough for him and Danny to get into the ghost zone, hopefully find the seamstress, and cash in that favor.
They went through with their plan that following weekend. Danny tossed Damian a small jumpsuit as they both climbed into the specter speeder, but did not grab his own. He had a small duffle bag on him that he threw under the seat.
"What is this?" Damian asks, nose scrunching up at the gaudy picture of Jack Fenton's face square at the center of the chest. He held it far away from it, as if it had a disease.
"Your hazmat suit." Danny replies, settling himself into the driver's seat as the door hissed shut and he began turning it on. He had some sort of gas mask on in his lap, too small to fit Danny's head, but certainly the right size to fit Damian's. "Normally you wouldn't need it since you'd stay in the speeder, but we're both getting out once we find Taylor. It's to protect you from the ectoplasm."
A scowl forces itself across Damian's face, "You don't have one." He points out, finding seat in the passenger chair next to Danny. His arms cross over his chest, and he was not pouting.
Danny looks at him amusedly, "I have enough ectoplasm in my body that I don't need one, you however, do not." He retorts, poking a finger into Damian's ribcage pointedly. "If you don't put it on now, you'll put it on when we find Taylor."
Damian's scowl deepens, feeling petulant as he sunk into his chair. Danny turns back to the console and flips a few more switches. "I will not, it looks ridiculous." He turns it around to show Danny the Jack Fenton Face.
The Specter Speeder hums to life, and there's a moment of turbulence as it lifts off the ground. While it does, Danny turns back to him blankly, stares at the emblem, and then reaches forward and yanks it off with a scriiiiich of the emblem. He crumples it up with one hand, and throws it into a small bin at his feet.
"There, fixed." He smiles. Then turns back to the controls, taking the yoke with both hands. "And I'm calling Dad Rights; you will put it on when we find Taylor or you'll stay in the speeder."
Damian sputters, sitting up incredulously. "You are not my father." He argues.
"Teeechnically, I am." Danny says, "I'm a clone of your father, and since I am fully his clone, that makes you my son by a technicality." He says cheerfully, pushing the specter speeder forward and into the swirling green portal.
Before Damian can retort, they're passing through the portal. This was his first time going into the Ghost Zone, and for a few seconds there was nothing but bright, swirling green filling his vision. His body felt like it was being twisted and pulled, his up and down reversing and returning. It was painless, but dizzying.
It only lasts for a few seconds, but it feels like a minute, and when they exit out the other side, Damian is holding his head while his vision spots and swims. Internally, he felt like those cartoon characters when their eyeballs rolled around in their head.
The dizziness fades away slowly, and as Damian regains his sight, he notices Danny's hand splayed over his sternum, gently keeping him pressed against his seat. It fell away when Danny saw that he was alright.
"Put your seatbelt on," Danny orders, nodding to his chair. Damian listens absently, before remembering their conversation before they went through the portal.
"That is not how it works." He scowls, and, annoyingly, only gets a challenged eyebrow raise from Danny. He could see the words written on his face without Danyal ever having to say it.
Because, dangit, he was technically right. Damian refuses to say this aloud. He screws his jaw shut, and crosses his arms back across his chest.
Danny chuckles under his breath, and turns his eyes back to the ghost zone. "My point still stands, either you wear the suit, or you don't leave the speeder."
"Fine."
+++
They eventually find where the seamstress is. Through quite a lot of Danny stopping to ask questions with any friendly ghost he came across, they eventually locate an island with a strange, urban city bustling with life on it. Massive, rocky stalagmites grew from the ground, and buildings were built on top of it or around it, with strange, warping architecture.
It was oddly beautiful.
Danny parked the speeder on the side of the street with a two hour parking sign on a nearby post. As he turned off the engine, he flipped a switch on the console that darkened the windows. He unbuckles his seat, and stood up, stretching out his back with a deep groan.
"Alright, put your suit on. The windows are tinted, so nobody should be able to see into the speeder." He orders, pulling out the duffle he brought in earlier and unzipping it. He pulls out his hockey mask and the hoodie he wore out for patrol, and the notebook they'd been using to jot down ideas for their suit.
Danny even had the hindsight to write in their respective heights, and with Tucker's help, some of their measurements. While he did that, Damian sourly pulled on his hazmat suit, irritated by the need to wear it.
Unfortunately, he also had to wear the boots and gloves for 'extra precaution'. Damian nearly bites out a grumpy 'you're as paranoid as father', but holds his tongue. He wasn't going to tell Danyal that secret.
Once he was done and Danny has his hockey mask and hoodie on, Danny grabs the gas mask and helps fit it over Damian's face. It was a sleek, simple design, shaped similarly to a regular face mask, with little filters on both sides of the mouth and a clear, protective covering around the eyes and forehead. Danyal improved it from the original his parents made.
He was smarter than he gave himself credit for.
Danny checks, then double checks that it the mask is tight, then smiles. Patting Damian's shoulders before standing up fully. "Taylor's shop should be somewhere nearby." He says, grabbing the notebook and tucking it under his arm.
Damian nods, and follows him out the door and onto the busy streets.
Finding Taylor becomes remarkably quick now that they were inside her city - something that Damian silently wondered was based loosely off NYC. Danny kept a firm arm around Damian's shoulders the entire time they walked down the street, keeping the both of them on the inside sidewalk.
Barely anyone passed them a second glance, spare the few odd looks shot at Damian. Danny whispers to him the first time it happens that it's because he has no ghost core, those more attune to their signatures might've been picking up on it.
They didn't notice Danny, because he had one, albeit a weak one.
Taylor's shop has a big sign on it in logographic writing that Damian has no idea how to read. The text shifts slowly, a jambled squiggle of lines, dots, and connected curves that look like a mix of messy cursive, gibberish, and logographic alphabets. He only knows its Taylor's shop because Danny pulls them towards it, stating that it was the place.
"You can read that?" He asks, incredulous as they draw closer to the door. Danny moves his arm off his shoulder, and wraps his fingers around Damian's instead.
"Yep," He replies, then scrunches his nose up, "sort of. It's - uh--" he stumbles over a word that Damian's ears cannot comprehend, but fills his head with slight static regardless. Danny winces. "It's the written form of ghostspeak, but since I'm not a ghost, I can only read some of it. Like uh, dyslexia."
"...I see." Damian says after a moment of silence, trying to replay the word in his head. His mind can't grasp the sound.
When they enter, the door doesn't ding with the sound of a bell, but rather it makes a low scream. Nobody bats an eye to the sound, keeping to their slow search through the racks of clothes.
At the counter was a woman talking quietly to another woman, one of whom Danny recognizes, as he walks over to her.
He doesn't need to say anything, because the woman behind the counter sees him coming, and her face positively lights up with delight. "Phantom!" She cries, and gestures to come over. "I was wondering when in the high ancients you were going to come see me!"
Danny's face is obscured by his mask, but Damian knows he's smiling sheepishly with the way he tilts his head and the way he tenses his shoulders. "My bad, Miss Taylor," he says, reaching the counter and standing beside the woman she was talking to, "It kinda... slipped my mind."
Taylor waves her hand dismissively, "Well you are here now!" She replies, grinning wide. Then her eyes pop open - literally - and she puts a hand over her chest. "Oh, how rude of me!" She turns and gestures between Phantom and the lady next to him, "Miss Mabam, this is Phantom. I told you about him a couple of years ago. He saved me from humans. Phantom, this is Gigi Mabam, she funds my shop. In return I make clothes for her and her staff."
The 'Gigi' woman turns just as Danny does, and smiles wide at him. Damian narrows his eyes at her, shuffling behind Danny legs as he looked her up and down. She had silvery-white hair and purple skin, and wore a darker purple business suit, a red gem cravat at her collar, and teal cat-eye glasses.
There was a lot of purple.
"So this is the ghost-touched you were telling me about, dear!" The woman, Mabam, said. Her voice was rich and low but she spoke in a whimsical cadence. It made Damian's skin crawl, and his narrowed eyes turned into a glare. "I must thank you for saving my seamstress, it would've been quite a fizzy-wink if she had been lost to those ghosty hunters."
What were those nonsense words? Damian hated it.
"Miss Mabam here runs a five-star hotel nearby," Taylor explains, her body turned to Danny, "she also is in charge of the city's Battle Nexus."
Danny is silent for a moment, and his free hand lifts and places itself on the back of Damian's head, keeping him close. "Battle Nexus...?"
Mabam claps cheerfully, laughing low, "Oh yes! Ghosts from all around the zone come to attend and watch as their fellow haunties are ripped from limbity-limb in a blood-curdling battle!"
Danny is still as stone. "I see." He says, careful. Damian wraps his fingers around his pant leg. "Well, I hate to interrupt your conversation, but I was hoping to cash in that favor, Miss Taylor?"
"Of course! What do you need?"
Danny looks down at Damian, and he looks up at him, locking eyes with the ominous green glowing from the eyeslits of his mask. He nods, and Danny looks back up. "Do you know how to make suits? Of the protective kind?"
+++
The seamstress it turns out, is capable of such a thing. And she ushers the both of them into one of the backrooms, sending off Mabam with a farewell and a promise to continue their conversation soon.
She flips through their design book, and immediately gets to work making their suits. In the end, with the help of her powers, she gets both done over the span of four hours. It's longer than both Danny and Damian want, but neither rush her.
Damian just hopes that Jasmine can keep the Fenton parents distracted for that long. She will have to.
The suits are better in real life than on paper, and Damian preens from the side in his own custom suit as Danny examines his own in front of the three mirrors. They were both dressed in all black, but whatever fabric Taylor used was of a blackest-black, turning Danyal - and Damian's - bodies into a black hole to look at. Both of them were fitted for agility, with reinforced padding around their shoulders and chests, as well as around the joints of their legs. Their boots were reinforced as well.
("It was hard to make your boots shock absorbent," Taylor explains, "since we all fly, but I applied similar stuff to what I did with your shoulders and chestplate.")
On the side of Danyal's legs were raised, black, lichtenberg-like figures that were contained to the seams and disappeared under his boots. There were similar designs going up his sleeves, with spiked gauntlets wrapped around his lower arm and hands. The knuckles were reinforced, just like he wanted.
Damian's favorite parts were their capes, however. Black like the rest of the outfit, but "wrapped" around their shoulders like an apocalyptic shawl with a back that went down to their knees, and at the hems the capes were torn and ripped like a wraith. Danyal's mask had gone through very little change. It was made of a stronger material, and Taylor had gone and made it more skull-like in its shape, with three large grills at the front, and the sides curving inward below the 'cheekbones' of the skull to better fit his face. It was still shock white, the only white part of Danyal's entire costume.
Damian's suit was almost identical. However, rather than having the seams of his suit resemble lichtenberg figures, the seams of his sleeves and upper torso were that of a black skeleton, with bone-y designs over his gauntlets and the fingers an ombre of dark red-to-black. And around his torso were raised lines that looked similar to a ribcage. The edge of his cloak was splatter a dark red as well. And he had a new domino mask that looked similar to the upper half of Danyal's mask, with the outer edges curved downward over his cheekbones. He was briefly allowed to take off the upper part of his gas mask to try on the mask.
The best part however, was that since the suits were made of material native to the ghost zone, they could also be taken off quickly and hidden in a small artifact. It was magic, is what it was. Danyal chose earrings, and Damian chose a ring.
When they got back to the Fenton house, Jazz demands a box of chocolate for her hard work. Damian thinks that's only fair as Danny takes them both out to get candy for Jazz.
+++
But other than vigilante stuff, not else much changes. Danny gets to pull a "Dad By Technicality Rule" card over Damian when he's being a brat. Danny doesn't have his run in with Rift (a ghost who portals him into Gotham) until after he meets Damian/lets Damian join him on patrol and when they get new suits.
My reason? Because I want it to happen after that point in time lol. It also makes the eventual "heyyyyy you have a clone" @ bruce much funnier to me because not only does he have a clone of HIMSELF but also THAT clone has a clone of Damian living with him.
Also when Danny destabilizes for the first time Damian is terrified for his safety. The fentons are surprisingly good at cloning, Danny hasn't had any issues up until this point in time, and that's only because he got hit with a new gun from Skulker that messed up the ectoplasm he had in his dna, which in term fucked with his own DNA.
Danny's destabilization, imo, is not "I cast you with Melt" he's not Ellie, he's not made of 50% ectoplasm. His parents surprisingly knew what they were doing, and he was human. So his destabilization should be unique to himself and different. Thus his destabilization is "I cast you with Compromised Immune System" his body slowly weakens over time as his cells destabilize. He becomes unnaturally frail and sick. Damian calls Ellie for help when Danny doesn't get up after being hit in a fight that he normally, and Ellie helps figure out that he's destabilizing. This is whats gonna happen in OG clone au too, but Ellie is going to be there rather than Damian.

do you have any dc /marvel opinions that you'll defend with your life?
Helena Bertenelli was already an awesome anti-hero for the Batfam. She has an interesting story and I like reading about her and her goals. Jason's resurrection is a great plotline because I think it could reasonably force character development for everyone PLUS he was done dirty in the first place. He deserved a second chance and the writers had every opportunity to create a comeback for his character. But they wasted it. When he came back, it should have been his goal to protect the new Robin. I also would have loved to see him struggling with the mindset of being the kid he was, but also someone entirely different. Jason still trying to be full of hope and maybe seeing this resurrection as a chance to prove to himself and others that he could be a good hero... Something about it destroys me.
If they wanted him to be angry at his dad and brother, that could still be accomplished. It would be a far more interesting dynamic, especially for when Damian comes into play later on. Jason deserved to be angry, and I like his character. But I wish they had written him to still try everything in himself t be kind. Seeing Robin/his little brothers and wanting to do everything in his power to make sure they don't end up like him? With Jason being good with kids + that, it would have set him up for being an awesome teacher, both as a civilian and as a hero. Him becoming the mentor after struggling to figure out what he wants to do with his new life, only knowing he wants to help people?
I also believe that a lot of the writers that are hired don't know the character they're writing all that well. Any comic that makes Bruce a man that would hurt his children, especially on purpose, is not a Bruce that I think should be canon. It's one thing to write your hero as a person with flaws, because every human being has them. It's another to write out your character as someone that would intentionally hurt a child, let alone HIS child, and then still proclaim them as a hero. You can not be an abuser and be a hero. It doesn't work that way. I can't remember who said it, but I saw a quote, "If you can not picture Batman comforting a child, then you have not written Batman."
(They also hate character development of any kind, and it's really annoying.)
#erinwantstowrite#dc#dc batman#jason todd#jason todd you deserved so much more than they gave you#so did you bruce#bruce may be emotionally repressed and fighting criminals#but he grew up with MULTIPLE great parental figures#and i just don't like his character being written as someone who'd raise a fist to his kid#or ALTER THEIR BRAIN CHEMISTRY. LITERALLY.

Because of the 30 pics limit, this can't fully fit into my meta lol. Yet in its own post, it's easier to see without distractions from other sections of the meta.
The foundational emotional beats of both their arcs are very similar in the finale. It's just that for Hunter, we only saw the first puzzle piece.
Luz feeling the pain of the absence of both her dad and Papa Titan (who gave her life and magic). Hunter feeling the absence of both Flapjack who brought him love and life, and on an arguably darker note, his father figure and primary caregiver Belos.
Look at the matching gestures:
It's the pain of bereavement.
Now check this out. Here's what's missing for Hunter...
Saying goodbye via a powerful and cathartic first attempt at a grief practice. His heart would have to be ready, though, not just his head. It would easily take months before he'd try this, and it's not a one-off thing he'll have to do. I feel that his therapist would help him towards readiness for this, and he could perform this for the first time as one of his biggest therapy breakthroughs:
2. It only makes sense that once he does his version of Luz releasing the glyph sheet above, his heart will have room for Waffles and significant progress not just in therapy, but also his palisman-carving lessons and progress in Hexside:
3. Waffles entering his life will be just so wonderful:
It's so cute to imagine Stringbean as an older sister to Waffles.
We saw Hunter experiencing the pain in all three specials,
but we didn't see his ensuing depression in full swing,
(I keep saying the following but...here goes: the closest to a glimpse that we get is this:)
and neither did we see the letting go/real goodbye, happening onscreen.
(when I look at the glyph sheet here, it makes me think of Willow showing Hunter the flyer derby photo of him and Flapjack in For the Future)
But yeah. Those would be the missing chapters before we arrive at these:
For #1 in the list above, there are a variety of practices that experts and therapists have come up with:
(Book: Bearing the Unbearable by Dr. Joanne Cacciatore) that could nudge the heart closer to the first - and possibly the most difficult - development, of accepting that Flapjack isn't coming back, and that all his hope for any goodness in Belos would have to die and be grieved as well. Luz letting go of the glyph sheet outside Eda's house was just the beginning of her own difficult journey of acknowledging that Manny and Papa Titan were gone.
Hunter had no palisman for many many months, before he carved Waffles. Compared to Luz who navigated her pre-epilogue chapters with Stringbean. He would have his own version of Luz's journey, which she outlines in the the four screenshots above this paragraph, before he mastered the skills to spend the rest of his life creating wonderful palismen for the people of the Boiling Isles. I think Luz's new chapter of going to further her studies at the University of Wild Magic, parallels Hunter's mastery of carving.

Your Seven & Blazar art gives me life. Thank you for the Ultra food in gen.
On a deeper note, I'm curious to hear your opinion on how Seven would interact with Gento. Both of them are fathers, & tho Gento transforms into Blazar, you can argue that Blazar is his partner/ "kid" in a way. Both of them would also go above & beyond to protect Earth to the point of self-destruction.
Yet, unlike Seven, Gento wants to be involved with Jun (in 1 episode, he outright tells his dad to stop being a try hard) & makes it known. He's also less uh....morally dubious record-wise.
Thoughts?
Ooh! I like this idea! Yes please give me more how Character A interacts with Character B prompts, I live for these kinds of discussions!
For context, I'll be considering Gento during the events of Blazar 2023, and Seven after the events of Mega Monster Battle 2009 (M78 timeline).
Firstly, let's state on record that any invading alien and kaiju is lucky that Seven and Gento are not defending Earth at the same time, because they’d be an absolutely deadly duo. With Seven’s strong adaptability and knowledge on extraterrestrial subjects, coupled with Gento’s leadership and strategic mindset, topped off with their resourcefulness, combat experience and determination -- they'd keep Earth safe for as long as they both lived. If they worked well together and trusted each other, they'd be nigh unstoppable.
Despite this, their interactions could vary drastically depending on how much trust they can establish between them, how willing they are to work together, and whether the safety of Earth is at stake during their interactions.
Gento is a strong leader who places great value in the contributions of his team, and often devises plans with all of his team in mind. While he does give out dangerous orders, he ultimately functions best when all of his team is on board with him on his ideas. Seven is substantially less worried about team rapport and building trust etc., and prefers to work alone as an agent. He does care for his teammates, but believes that some hands-off/harsh treatment is necessary so that his teammates can 'develop' (Taro 1973 Ep 33 & 34, Leo 1975). Thus, Seven wouldn't last long in Gento's team, given how Gento values his team members and their relationships, and how tightly-knit Gento runs his operations. Gento may still decide to work with Seven at arm's length, as he'd recognise that Seven is a powerful ally, or an even more powerful opponent to have.
While their goals and dedication regarding Earth are similar, their values are inherently different. As you’ve pointed out, Gento puts his family as a close priority — it’s unlikely that he’d do anything to compromise his family at this stage. Seven's close to opposite: not only has Seven excused himself from Zero’s upbringing, but has a history of choosing Earth over the lives of his own brothers (Leo 1975, Ep 39), though he does show immense difficulty making those decisions. Any argument/conflict between Gento and Seven would likely force Gento to play the moral side of missions -- which he is admittedly not strong at. There is a high chance that Seven could make Gento follow through with something he'd end up regretting later.
Their relationship could go either way. If they were to interact on good terms, it's likely that they'd establish an odd informant/agent relationship. It wouldn't take Gento long to figure out Seven isn't human, but he'd likely see that as a resource more than anything. Given Gento's penchant for holding important secrets, he'd keep any interaction with this weird alien informant as a secret from his team and/or family. On healthy terms, they'll spend their off times exchanging grapevine news, comparing monster research, sharing stories about their sons, or maybe engaging in some hiking or fishing together. Seven and Gento can relate on many things, including the stresses of their duties, any accident or alien related trauma, or their concern for their families. On a deeper level, they could talk about their decisions, regrets, fears, or the times where they came close to becoming the monsters they were fighting so hard to protect Earth from. They'll disagree on a lot of things, but they'd hold a decent respect for each other as fellow Earth protectors.
On the other hand, if they're unable to build any sort of trust between each other, and if saving the Earth requires a sacrifice of any of their values, Gento and Seven could turn out as rivals or foes. Both of them are stubborn and unwilling to compromise on their values -- Gento will go against any plans that risk the loss of his family or his team, and Seven will not accept anything that puts many humans at risk of any danger, even if it's other humans. Seven is a horrible enemy for any species to deal with; his lethal special techniques, astute observations and his unwavering willpower makes him dangerous and difficult to oppose. Equally, Gento's charisma, composure and methodical approach to strategy means that he'll find way more allies and resources, and he'll be able to form more elaborate plots against Seven once he figures out Seven's weaker points. It would take a third party to stop their fight from worsening (maybe their sons, their teammates, or even Blazar), because any actual conflict between Gento and Seven wouldn't end until one of them has been removed from the picture.
Regardless, I don't think they'd be in any position to ignore each other -- their duties and lives are way too similar for them to stay as strangers!
I can imagine that their first interaction would be anything but normal ;D Maybe someone found some aliens attacking cities and towns, claiming they were original inhabitants of Earth before the humans apparently invaded. Maybe Seven’s in the middle of investigating a weird Ultraman with a warbling warcry and a fondness for veggie juice. They’d probably only meet at times when the Earth is in serious danger, and Seven's oddly timely appearances during times of crisis would 100% arouse suspicion from SKaRD. Simultaneously, Seven's got a track record of being weirdly interested in humans -- he'd end up following Gento in the distance during his missions, popping up to interfere with missions or to part with cryptic advice, which will cause Gento no end of confusion or frustration. Then eventually, when Seven inevitably gets caught by the authorities and pulled into interrogation as Dan Moroboshi, or when Gento gets caught in some alien skirmish while a human-sized Seven is in action, or when SKaRD witnesses some bird-like or buffalo-like kaiju materialise to help Blazar in a fight -- they'll get a chance to properly talk.
That's just my initial thoughts! I'd expect that there'd be more nuance between Seven and Gento, as there are a lot of parallels between their characters. Their dynamics would be different depending on which iterations of those characters we'd be using: e.g. Gento would have a lot to teach 1967 Seven on how not to be gullible weirdo who doesn't listen to his team, and he’d have a lot to say about 1974 Captain Moroboshi. Also, Heisei Seven is a force of terror that I don't want to subject either Gento or SKaRD to. If they'd ever meet up in stage-shows/movies though, I'd like for them to be friends.
TL;DR Gento and Seven could turn out as confidantes, or they'll end up stopping each other from saving Earth. Now I want fanfic of this
#ultraman#ultraseven#ultraman blazar#gento hiruma#i considered a host relationship but Seven doesn't have a good track record with hosts and I care about Gento too much to do that to him#i would pay cash money to see Gento smack some sense into Captain Moroboshi though

Pompous Pep Week - Day 5: Age Swap
This is over a week late, but I finished it, which is a win to me. xD
My thoughts on this universe of teen Vlad and adult Danny...
Vlad is a teenage boy constantly trying to appeal to his crush, Maddie, though she seems to have eyes for their friend Jack. The three still have a ghost portal accident like they did in college, occurring earlier in life due to more available technology in the modern age of 2004. A little less unstable as well, no ecto-acne.
Vlad, still a victim of Jack's impulsiveness, hides his emerging ghost powers as he figures them out. He does not yet have the crooked notion to use them robbing banks and getting rich.
One day, while in his ghost form, he encounters and defeats a low-level ghost. Maddie and Jack happen to observe and find it fascinating. Maddie thinks the winning ghost is strong and remarkable, worth studying further. This leads Vlad down a hole of instigating more fights with ghosts to impress her, with eventual plans to reveal his true identity. When he can't get fights going organically, he begins bribing ghosts into it or summoning them with ghost tech/magic, unmindful of all the collateral damage caused by these battles. Over time, he devolves further into wanton damage and cruelty to the losing ghosts.
Enter Danny Phantom, a (formerly retired) ghost hero who can't ignore the new influx of ghosts and what this new ghost boy is getting up to. Plot twist? Turns out he's half-ghost too... and Maddie's father. (No, obviously he's not also Jack's father. lol.) Their introduction is a battle, one which Vlad swiftly loses, causing him to transform back human. [See above art]
Danny is shocked to meet another half-ghost (and it's his daughter's friend!) and tries to take Vlad under his wing, teach him how to use his powers. Naturally, Vlad fights the implication he needs help— and fights Danny too. They become unfortunate enemies, with Danny constantly torn over the question if it's okay to hit a kid. Haha. But the boy is being evil! He at least needs a time-out.
I imagine parts of canon plot still transpire. Things like Vlad researching the Ghost Zone for ways to become more powerful but it backfiring, leading to him running to Danny for help. Danny always assists, but he rarely receives a thank you.
On a personal level, Maddie can't understand why Vlad hates her dad. Meanwhile, Danny has to watch the very apparent tragedy of Vlad having a crush on Maddie, knowing she likes Jack. He can't give advice or suggest Vlad look elsewhere for love because the teen bites his head off anytime he tries to help him. None of it will end well.
For Danny's backstory, it can't transpire along canon lines with an accident in his parents' lab. I therefore decided he received his powers through magic and the occult over science. And we can blame Sam for that. Haha. When the Satanic Panic of the 80s/90s hit, she rebelled even harder against her parents and bought every dark tome and trinket she could find. Yes, this led to her summoning a portal to the Ghost Zone, and yes, Danny was caught in a reaction when the portal destabilized.
After half-dying and becoming infused with ghostly aura, Danny worked to develop his powers and stop any ghosts who made their way into the human world. I imagine that, like a Ouija board without a goodbye, the portal is open (sometimes in various locations) until they realize to close it properly. This actually takes years for them to do. In that time, Danny likes to play that he's a hero. (Ooh, fun to imagine things like meeting Ember when she was still alive.) But eventually, they did close the portal and the need for his heroics... ended.
Eventually, he and Sam got married. They had a daughter. They got divorced. (It's complicated~) If you want to ask how they have a red-headed child, go look at Sam's parents again and discuss with me whether her hair really is naturally black. Hmm.......... Also maybe they have another, older daughter named Jazz. Hahaha.
If it's necessary to pick a day job for adult Danny, he still wanted to be an astronaut. Especially with an adjusted timeline and him being alive during the thrill of the moon landing. Unfortunately, the program required incredibly thorough medical examinations, something his half-ghost biology could never pass without serious questions. So he did the next best thing with all that training. He's an airplane pilot. Flying comes pretty easy to him, after all.
He retired from ghost hunting. But also lately there seem to be new ghosts showing up in town?

At first, I thought fourth wing series will only have three book.. so I immediately think that it -third one- would be the "finale"
now that I know there will be 5 books.. well.. my earlier posts,
*possible spoilers and FW/IF theories*
I still expecting Dain to be die at the end..
Tairn is also in danger for me..
And all other guesses.. maybe they're not going to happen all at once, not in the third book at least.. but still.. (I'm behind on my ideas for most of them)
also, since there would be two other book, I think we're going to see Xaden and Violet in opposite sides at the end of the third one and in the fourth book they may be "enemies" and maybe we might see Violet trying to find a proper cure.. and the fifth book will be the "final battle"
so,
third book;
Violet will try to find a way/cure to stop the spreading..
Xaden will fight to not surrender that darkness..
Maybe some foreshadowings to the possible "cure" and Violet's research that leads to her dad or to some locations -that will affect the fourth book-.. idk at this point.
Also in story based, I think we might see mostly her research for the cure but also we have an "upcoming war" threat so we are going to read some strategical scenes; with more Aaric and new allies etc, but at the end, the darkness might overcome Xaden so he might turn full "enemy" side (not by his will but mostly maybe to protect others&Violet from himself) so this might lead other's plans to crash (bcs Xaden will probably know their plans&strategical calls) so that lead Violet to be one step ahead of him/venin's in the fourth book.
In character based,
I think the redemption arc of Dain will start to be more visible in that book.
Jesinia become more active character, while Sawyer starts healing (and since Sawyer 's signet is about metals, it would be cool to him having a metal leg) she might even help him and this might effect their love&interests in each other too.
We might start to see more scenes with Aaric like I said, first I was going to ship him with Rhiannon but than I kinda sense that maybe him and Cat might be a thing (after Cat become more "emotionally" stable character; bcs Cat liked Xaden due to his "power&position" so she might be affected by Aaric too if she finds out who he actually is and that leads to a development in their romantic interactions)
I also think we might see more scenes of Garrick and Imogen.. which leads us to connect with them more and by the fifth book when or if one of them gets killed we will suffer more..damnit.. (my guesses is Garrick)
Xaden and Dain scene.. we might get that since Dain never apologize to him properly about Liam.. (and maybe even a heart to heart scene where Xaden tells Dain to; if you really want to prove me that you're sorry "protect her at all cost if something happens to me" -and Dain will be like "I always protect her" "promise" "I promise"- is that too emotional for them? maybe.. but I expect Xaden to be more pessimistic&protective over Violet in that book so anything is possible.)
I also think that in that book, we might say goodbye to one of our main dragons.. (hear me out, Tairn.. why am I thinking that way, let me explain myself..)
so we know that Andarna cannot fly with a rider (yet) and if Tairn dies or sacrifice himself at the end of this book, in fourth book the journey of Violet to find a cure and save Xaden (and maybe figure out the mysteries about herself and venins) become more challenging and this would add storyline more tension.
Either way, if Tairn dies at the end, we might get to see more Andarna&Violet's connection scenes in the fourth and fifth book and since one of the most powerful dragon -Tairn- is dead "finding a cure" would become more essential to create a balance between sides (if Xaden become full enemy at the end).
And also Andarna is a very special dragon so she&we might learn new things about Andarna's species during Violet's search for a cure and her journey -bcs if she leaves with Tairn, Andarna probably wouldn't come with them-. And this might lead to new theories about her signet/powers and "cure" itself.. (I still think that Violet being a truth-sayer would be too obvious, it's reasonable -very very accurate- but I need a more shocking signet; and I cannot think an unexpected type of a truth-sayer power -yet-)
fourth book;
Violet might travel to find the cure (and maybe reunites with some people or uncovers the secrets about her family) and I think Rhiannon or Mira (or both) might accompany her.. (I also expect Imogen and Garrick might come with her too; and we get to see more scenes of them by that. And Dain and Ridoc might come too; Dain to keep his promise to Xaden and for Violet and Ridoc, is Ridoc.. he is their friend..)
and also I read some theories about her hair being a symbol that she is immune or she is literally the cure herself.. maybe we get to learn more about that too..
Aaric's identity might be revealed to the others to add more allies&an army for the "final battle" (so royals might be more included to this book)
We might get to know more about Andarna too in this book.. (maybe while they -Violet and her travel group- are traveling uncharted territories, some might recognize Andarna's species and might tell some stuff about the power she might be holding..
(I don't really know, at this point, I believe Violet might travel with Andarna if Tairn dies at the end of the third book. But also, if Xaden turns completely into a venin, Sgaeyl might also want to help Violet to save her rider; if she doesn't left with Xaden)
I think we get to see more Garrick&Imogen and our other ships during this book too.
and if we get to find out Violet's second signet in the third book, maybe in this one she might try to control her powers.. and uses them during their journey.
and by the end of this book we need an "battle-ish" event so, (in third book they were in Basgiath, in this book we might start with leaving there and Violet headed to her journey&others going to the Aretia/Riorson House so there might be a battle there which venins will lose. -and Dain might die in that part; while helping Violet to save/capture Xaden to cure him, maybe, by "venin" Xaden? I hope not.-)
in the fifth book; final battle
I think, at the beginning we're not going to see Xaden as an ally and we are going to try to cure him first. And later on with the "healed" Xaden, they are going to get ready for the final battle.
and also
I really cannot predict properly.. but..
since in every book at least one important or significant character dies; I want to write a list of my opinions too (it will become a massacre at this point bcs my guesses changes with every theory I read)
in the first book, Liam and Soleil died..
in the second book, Lilith sacrificed herself..
so for the third book, my guess is Tairn.. (I want to be wrong so bad)
for the fourth book, Dain (?) and Jack
and in the fifth book, bloodbath.. no I'm kidding.. kinda.. I hope?.. I don't think Xaden or Violet will be dead so.. Garrick, Mira and Ridoc might die at the end..
oh god it turns out to be a long post.. I got really imaginative at this hour! AND I'm probably mistaken at some points but still.. better than to be forgotten, I update here if anything new comes up as an idea/theory.
and I'm also wondering if we only get Violet's perspective again.. bcs it might change the storyline too since we would only know her journey..

HDM Season 1 Episode 2:
So far the child actors have been pretty good! That's always a crapshoot, and given the nature of the story, they can't age them up very much. I bet they had a blast shooting some of the early scenes running around Oxford. The children yearn for the catacombs.
(Speaking of which, Asriel bringing back (allegedly) Grumman's head makes a lot more sense with the reminder that scholars are buried that way.)
Outside of Oxford, the world looks very modern. It's not quite clear what era it is in Lyra's world since their tech developed so differently from ours. Are the calendars running in perfect parallel to Will's world? If they ever mentioned who's on the throne that would help, but I don't think they ever do. Is there even a king/queen, or is it just the Magisterium?
Following Roger's experiences being stolen and the gyptians' quest to find the missing children is a good adaptational move. In the book we're told the gyptians have been working on this, but here we see it, which reinforces that they don't just show up when the plot needs to get Lyra North somehow.
The show is doing a lot of work to set Mrs. Coulter up as a complex character early. She comes across as way more overtly villainous in book one. Frankly the actress might be overdoing it with some of her tortured pauses. Also lmao at Lyra getting hired/adopted and during her first breakfast her new boss/mom mentions she wants to kill herself sometimes. Lyra: … Anyway starts eating breakfast
While Mrs. Coulter seems to want Lyra as a decorative ornament in the book, it seems like she's more interested in training her as a minion here.
Ma Costa is a lot more distraught than she was in the book but honestly, fair. Her child is missing. And it's possible she just did a good job of hiding her emotions from Lyra so as to not stress her out more.
The religious symbol for the Magisterium looks quite sinister! And sort of like a biohazard sign. If this is a legit piece of Catholic iconography, sorry.
The show is drawing a lot of attention to Mrs. Coulter being able to go a large distance from her daemon. That's hinted at once or twice in the first book, but I don't remember it ever being explained? They're not severed, because iirc they almost sever them to power a bomb in a later book. Since the sequel series either retconned (uncharitable) or expanded (charitable) the lore about how frequent separation is, maybe that's the case here. She certainly has enough internal conflict for it to be a possibility.
Wow, we're dropping the Lord Boreal dual identities worldhopping situation early. I thought that would be a much later reveal. It explains something though - I thought it was odd that we didn't see his daemon much in earlier scenes, but I suppose he's in the habit of hiding it.
That's a different way of doing the dad reveal! Lessens the lore dumps later on, I suppose
Ok, they did the Mrs. Coulter scene later. I think that steals a lot of the punch, but it lets new viewers stew in trying to figure out how dangerous she is longer. I'm not sure why the kids would buy her sales pitch after they got dragged away with nets, though.
Whoah, they actually killed the journalist? Good way to establish the rules of killing someone's daemon, I suppose.
What's the deal with the hypnotic fox daemon? I don't remember anything like that.

Er, is it really a good idea to let Morv be the commentator???
Are they really certain he'll be able to focus on the competition and not the competitors (you know what I mean)?

This intro is definitely on-point---a lot of people gush over our lovable wolfboy's booty, but personally? THOSE LEGS THO. I agree with Karu---I like their powerful (muscular) legs the best!!! :D
Also, that popsicle looks good. Watermelon, I assume? I could really go for a-
-PFFFT!!! THEY GOT ME AGAIN!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm getting flashbacks to the original max-damage Unfulfilled Dream Rei, where Father made an attempt to cover Rei's bare chest! 🤣
More seriously---it's very sweet of Aster to cover up Garu here. We love a Protective King!
6) PFFFT!!! GOD DAMMIT, DEVS!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They're not even going to bother focusing on his face first??? I was wrong---THIS has got to be the least subtlety ever perceived!!! My poor Cringefail Doritoman
♡ Dante!!! ♡
(Thank goodness he doesn't seem to know that the camera focused on his bulge before even showing his face... NO ONE TELL HIM.)
/// Flustered Dante!!!! ///
Fuck, he's so adorable!!! ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
7) Eiden, you absolute psycho!!! You wanted to make them even longer???
Please. PLEASE. PLEASSSSEEE tell me what the full titles were going to be!!!
Please, they're probably so ridiculously cringe!!! PLEEAAASSSEEE!!!!
8) *slowly shakes my head, chuckling fondly*
Dante, stop trying to apply logic to a fantasy world. You will not win. 😇
(Also, I suspect he might be jealous that his animal friend doesn't have his own custom-made accessories 😈)
9) OH MY GODDDD!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He doesn't even know what the surfboard is, let alone how to use it!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I can't what to see him get overly prideful when he finally figures it out! OR EVEN BETTER---if he gets embarrassed over it!!!!
This event is going to tease Dante so much, I can feel it!! AND I AM SO EXCITED FOR IT!!!!
CRINGEFAIL DORITOMAN, MY BELOVED!!!!
(≧∇≦) ♡♡♡♡♡♡
10) Not gonna lie, I feel for the devs trick and believed Dante was encouraging Eiden at first. 😅 (I mean, Dante has been getting progressively more corny and sweet to Eiden.)
But, it's almost better for it to be Sooley instead---
After all, we get to see more Sooley!!!!! HELL YEAH!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
🐾 Cat Dad Dante 🐾 fawning proudly over his animal friend is always a delight to see!
And not just because of the cute animal---it allows us to see the softer side of Dante, which he rarely shows to anyone.
(˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)
11) ?! Oh???
♡ Eiden!!! ♡
Oh snap, I thought they were done introducing competitors! I assumed Eiden was going to be some sort of referee! But he's a more-confusing-and-mysterious competitor!
PFFFT!!!! 😂 GET DUNKED ON, EIDEN!!!! 😈
I mean, to be fair to the crowd, sweetie; you're standing right next to three of the most beefy men in Klein... No offense, but even I'm worried whether you'll be able to keep up with them... 😅
I'm having such a good time, ya'll!!!

FULL EPISODE: Kevin 11 ⌚️ Ben 10 ⌚️ Cartoon Network
@the-ravenclaw-werewolf
Here are a few questions I would like to ask you about The 40′s reaction to this Ben 10 episode. (Take your time with this one)
How do you think The 40 would react to:
- Ben’s initial attempt to play the Pre-release version of the new Sumo Slammers video game by saying that he’s a “beta tester”, only for the security guard to be unconvinced.
- Ben obviously ignores his grandfather’s warning of using the Omnitrix to sneak into the room to play the video game only to lack the foresight that he’ll be caught if the security guard hears the noises coming from the room (which is what happened).
- Ben being unremorseful of the fact that he got him, his grandpa, and his cousin kicked out of the hotel by saying it’s “no big deal” despite losing possibly over $350 (under ¥50,000 according to the 2023 converter), since it was a 4-star hotel in New York; all because he wanted to play a video game that hasn’t been out yet.
- Adding onto the above question; the fact that Ben tries to justify his misuse of the Omnitrix by stating that [he] used the watch for good over 100 times and why can’t he just use it for his own benefit for once, only for Grandpa Max to criticize that mindset; “it’s not about how many times you use it, it’s how you use it.” To my interpretation, Max was warning Ben of the dangers of developing a slippery slope regarding power misuse from the Omnitrix (e.g. like a person trying to limit themselves on the use of something addictive only to continually abuse it to the point there’s no more restraint).
- Ben being grounded by Grandpa Max from being allowed to enjoy any Super Slammer stuff for two weeks, with Ben calling out the unfairness of it only for Grandpa Max to retort that it’s also unfair that they got booted out of a 4-star hotel that he already paid for (especially with the implicitly of why they got booted out in the first place), with Ben giving a lame retort that Max should just take it out of his allowance (even he doesn’t get an allowance)
- Ben escalates the argument to the point where he lashes out by telling Grandpa Max that he can’t tell him what to do all the time since it’s his summer time to enjoy life and that he isn’t his father to both Grandpa Max and Gwen’s shock. Especially the reactions of the members of The 40 who suffer from parental abuse to where if they speak out of turn even just a little it’ll warrant big trouble (i.e. Nagisa, Zuko, Killua, etc.) and those who are estranged from their parents/grandparents and/or lack them (i.e. Edward, Senku, Legoshi, Tohru, etc.). (Also, given the majority of the characters being Japanese or the fantasy equivalent, “honor thy parent” is a huge deal along with having the utmost quiet respect for authority figures regardless of their true feelings in East Asian cultures)
- The obvious emotional hurt that Grandpa Max felt from Ben saying that he isn’t his dad (as seen where he’s stammering afterward that if he was his dad) and Ben being completely unrepentant of it because he only cared for his own feelings.
- Seeing Ben throwing a temper tantrum and having the gall to believe that he’s being unfairly punished by his grandfather for simply wanting to play a video game while conveniently forgetting that 1) he ignored the security guard’s warning that he isn’t allowed to play and Grandpa Max’s warning to not sneak in to play the videogame and misuse the Omnitrix for an illegal activity, 2) got him, his grandfather, and cousin kick out of the 4-star hotel that Max had already paid for (and it’s definitely a lot given it’s for a one night stay at a 4-star hotel in New York), and 3) finally straight-up tells his grandfather that he isn’t his dad in a fit of rage despite Grandpa Max being his paternal grandfather and his current legal guardian during the summer trip.
- Seeing Ben then blowing off to the arcade while telling Gwen that he “doesn’t speak dweeb” when she tries to stop him, while Ben and Gwen do have their typical squabbles, that moment should be considered mean-spirited after the argument.
- After witnessing Ben’s horrible behavior during and after the argument and then him taking off to the point that some members of The 40 would lose their patience and seriously considering harming a 10-year-old.
- Ben meeting Kevin Levin for the first time and The 40 getting a bad vibe of him, especially when the latter displays his powers by forcing an arcade machine to spill out tokens.
- Seeing Ben getting his ass knocked down by one of the gangsters when the latter tries to defend Kevin, despite his lashing out at Grandpa Max not long before.
- Learning of Kevin’s description of his powers to absorb energy (from anything) and dish it back out when he has to...or wants to.
- Seeing Kevin living on his own in an abandoned subway station hearing Kevin’s blasé attitude explaining to Ben that his parents were long gone as they weren’t too thrilled to have a freak for a son, and his adding that that means he doesn’t have to answer to anybody. And Ben’s reply that it sounds good to him.
- Thinking that while Kevin being a bit smarter than he lets on and easy-going behavior in regards to his parental abandonment despite being 11-years-old can be chalk up to a form of psychological defense mechanism, The 40 would still think that there might be more to the backstory what Kevin revealed to Ben, either willing, unwilling, or a combination of both as his sociopathic tendencies are seen later in the episode.
- Seeing Ben and Kevin bond over not wanting to listen to authority figures and the obvious toxicity of enabling each other’s worse aspects. Leading to...
- Seeing Ben and Kevin sneaking into a warehouse at night and trying to steal the new Sumo Slammers video game only to have to run when security comes knocking
- Seeing Kevin getting suspiciously focused on the Omitrix after hearing Ben’s mention of it “sending out a special energy” upon activation, and him immediately proposing a partnership of doing crime together with Ben happily accepting.
- Watching the scene goes to Grandpa Max and Gwen seeing how much Ben is going to be in for it with Max being very pissed at Ben’s worst stunt yet and Gwen telling herself that she should be enjoying Ben’s upcoming misfortune with their Grandpa but can’t bring herself to.
- Seeing Kevin and Ben’s first stint as partners-in-crime by causing a train collision to steal money, only for Ben to point out that 100 innocent people will die with Kevin nonchalantly replying, “No pain, no gain”.
- Seeing Kevin making it clear that he won’t reconsider his plan and Ben coming to an epiphany of his own selfishness and trying to stop Kevin one way or another.
- Seeing Kevin getting the drop on Heatblast and absorbing the Omnitrix’s energy and turning into a half-Pyronite hybrid and him declaring his motive of making anyone who called him a freak pay.
- Seeing Kevin absorbing Four-Arms DNA and becoming a 3/4 Tetramand hybrid, with him and Ben fighting evenly for a while.
- Four-Arms nearly timing out and unleashing a brutal beatdown on Tetramand Kevin which causes the latter to start “crying uncle” despite enjoying the brawl between them beforehand.
- Seeing Tetramand Kevin gets surprisingly remorseful from the power high and when Ben tries to help him, Kevin reveals that he was faking his remorse and calling out Ben for naivete while trying to pry the Omnitrix off only for the watch to send a feedback loop to defend itself.
- Seeing Ben genuinely apologizes to Grandpa Max for everything that happened in the episode and the latter solemnly accepting it as they’re family and nothing will ever change that. Though Grandpa Max does tell Ben that his trust is something he has to earn back, which Ben quietly accepts as again, he did go too far with him stating that Grandpa Max isn’t his dad and did commit a crime with Kevin by trying to steal the new Sumo Slammers video game.
- Seeing Kevin plotting his revenge story and showcasing that he did absorb the 10 alien DNA from the Omnitrix.
- On a side note, the absurdity of the Sumo Slammers videogame being so important to the point that a security guard has the Tennyson Family banned from the hotel due to Ben sneaking in to play it without a pass and warranted a SWAT team in response to Kevin and Ben breaking into a warehouse to steal a few pre-release copies.

Gale Reviews: Spider-man : Across the Spiderverse
thanks @knightsweeties for drawing my icon's spidersona
So I am WAY behind on movies I should have been watching and Finally cleared my schedule enough to watch this movie
So I think I will break it down into the following. As a fan of into the spider-verse, my expectations for this film are a lot higher than most movies. Here's how I am breaking it down.
Animation
Plot
The Characters
The Lesson
Does it live up to the hype
Final Thoughts
____________________________________________________________
Animation
Across the Spiderverse is an animation marvel.
I wouldnt call it beautiful, because that is such a mundane term. It is artistically masterful. It even goes beyond what it had done in the previous film.
The way the film has each universe has its own art, color and style that transfers to each character. The level of detail is beautiful. The way colors are used in Gwen's universe. How Hobie is never looking consistent in any shot he is in because in his own words "He hates consistency" Its incredible.
The animation is the best part of the movie. If the animation is a cut above the rest and it is the best I have every seen in a CGI film.
10/10 (And that is a hard 10)
Plot
The film takes place a year and 4 months after the events of Into the spiderverse. There is a group of inter dimensional spider people that go around to fight anomalies and ensure the "Canon" is maintained.
Miles aka Spiderman is just trying to get a hang of his life as Spider man, his parents are worried about his future and now he has a new villain, the Spot. The Spot is obsessed with becoming Miles/Spiderman's nemesis and is hopping universes to increase his power.
Miles ends up in trouble with the interdimensional spider people and their leader, Miguel o'hara. And it culminates in the Spot becoming a massive threat to the multiverse, Miles being chased down by the spider people because he is an anomoly and him ending up in a dimension from where the Spider that bit him came from. A world where there is no spider man.
Now there is SO much to cover and this movie is a 2 hour and 20 minutes and it is only PART 1!
Now there are also a bunch of other story lines like with Gwen and her dad, Peter B parker becoming a father and The Spot figuring out his powers. But that is only the beginning.
Now the way the movie takes its time to set things up is fine... but it also feels like there are some things that could have been cut. It feels so long. The movie does do a good job to ensure it never feels boring, but at the same time it feels cluttered and empty in random intervals.
The first part does leave me excited for part 2, but I also feel like I have a lot of movie to process already and I am not in a rush to see part 2.
I think the previous film did a better job maintaining the hype and pacing, while also giving so much development.
Overall 8/10
_____________________________________________________________
The Characters
Miles Morales: Miles is as great as he was in the first film. You sympathize with his situation, he never comes off as annoying or jerkish because the movie does a good job in making sure you understand his perspective. Even when he is arguing with his parents, you know he wants to tell them but all the advice he has been given is NOT to. The problem with Miles though is that his problem is basically the same as the first one, people keep telling him what he is or needs to be and he has to find his own way and rise up. It feels a bit repetitive. But that being said it is a twist on it because with the situation we as the audience have to figure out if Miles is in the right or not.
Spider-Gwen: Gwen gets more development here, including the focus on her dynamic with her father. The strain that occured when he found out that his daughter was the vigilante that he believed killed his daughter's best friend. Its a whole can of worms as Gwen is basically dimension hoping to avoid dealing with that. We also see how she and miles grow closer ONLY to seperate as he learned the truth on why she never visited and why he is an anomoly. Gwen does manage to make up with her dad and she has a new mission, saving Miles. She is in her own way just as much of a main character in this as Miles, which is great for her as it allows us to explore her character more. Her character is one of the best.
The Spot: When it comes to pathetic villains that grow into massive threats, you can say I have a soft SPOT for them. I like the backstory and how absurdly dumb it is but how it makes sense. The spot is growing into his own and a twisted version of miles, like he had to deal with in the first movie. Coming into his own but lacking control only to grow exponentially as he grew in confidence. The spot now has a mission, be the true nemesis of Miles whether he wants it or not, and he is willing to rip apart the multiverse to do it.
Miguel O'Hara: The hard ass future spiderman that is obsessed with making sure no other universe collapse. He is fervent in his belief that Canon can not be broken and any and all threats to the spiderverse need to be dealt with. He is also a foil to Miles because he is a bigger, serious and seemingly more competent version of him. Miles' own friends take this guy's side over his, and it is a great point of tension. Personally, I think he is wrong with his takes and while the movie tries to show him as right, it fails to take into account how inaccurate it is by ignoring the times things DIDNT break. If Canon was so definitive, than Miles universe would have collapsed when his world's spiderman died. Regardless I do like the character.
The Spiders: The other spider people were great. Seeing Peter b parker, and Spider byte were some of my personal favorites. Spider woman was great... but it bothered me that a PREGNANT WOMAN was doing all this crazy dangerous stuff. I dont care if she is a spider person that is dangerous and could cause a TON of complications. WHY DID NO ONE POINT OUT THE DANGER TO HER? Rant done, I did enjoy all the jokes that were made and most of the spiders were endearing and fun to see. (Lego spider man is the best one confirmed by Miguel)
Overall solid 9/10. While Gwen got an upgrade and Miguel was a welcome antagonist I think there were a LOT more characters here and it cost some of them development. But despite that it is still good.
______________________________________________________________
The Lesson
Its basically a coming of age story that life is unpredictable and that people can advise you but you are the only person that can decide how you write your story. That is similar to Miles story in the first one and it could be argued that this is just an expansion on that. Or it can be said that the first lesson was to rise to the occasion and never fear failure while this is to push forward and decide whats right for you.
Overall its done well if a bit of a rehash.
9/10
__________________________________________________________
Does it live up to the Hype?
Yes. 100% if you liked the first one you will love the second one. But I can also see the argument that the first movie was great as a stand alone, and with this being part one it now becomes dependent on how the second part delivers, that is the problem with movies in Parts. I do think it will deliver, so I am not worried on that end. So yes, it lives up to the hype.
_____________________________________________________________
Final thoughts
Across the Spiderverse brings a new redefinition of animation as we know it, it is a solid plot and it has a lot of hype and build up going into the next part. I am glad I waited before watching as it allows me not to get sucked into people's opinions and I can say I enjoy it without just agreeing with the crowd.
solid 10/10 for me. It is one of the best Animated movies I have ever seen and I cant wait for part 2.
Also what is with spider people and child endangerment? Spider woman and peter B parker. I got my EYE on you
TLDR: Its an INCREDIBLE movie, its long and it lives up to the hype.

reading updates: october 2023
hi everybody!!! things (by which I mean everything) have been a little bit hectic lately (by which I mean it feels like everything is one fire 100% of the time), which I guess explains why I'm late posting this AND why I only finished four books in all of October.
I would be very sad about this if the number of books I read had any correlation to my value as a person, but luckily it doesn't! so I don't give a shit, I am literally just vibing and trying to have a good time reading my silly little stories. here's a book report about it.
what I've been reading:
The Goblin Emperor (Katherine Addison, 2014) - okay, so picture this: you're the fucking elf king's least favorite son. you're not a bastard, but he didn't love your mom and after she died he basically banished you to a miserable little estate in bumfuck nowhere with no one but your abusive older cousin for company. probably he was going to leave you out there forever and hope that you would die quietly so no one would ever have to remember you existed. (un)fortunately, your shitty dad and all of his male heirs just died in a blimp accident and now you're the emperor. GOOD LUCK. this book is political fantasy of the highest order, with loads of machinations and intrigue and chewy worldbuilding interspersed with genuinely sweet moments between characters as one very good boy befriends his way to power. blah blah empires are inherently evil, obviously yes but this is a made up empire with 0 real consequences and Maia is my little dude. the only way I could love him more would be if he'd just nutted up and kissed his boy secretary on the mouth.
Happy Hour (Marlowe Granados, 2020) - I kept seeing this book enthusiastically as kind of a light fizzy funtime celebrating being young and free and running around New York City with no plans, and man... that was not my experience! Isa and Gala are maybe the most stressful girls I've ever encountered in fiction: perpetually broke and hungry, absolutely lacking in direction or ambition, always ricocheting listlessly from one situation to another in search of a good time and mostly only discovering disappointment, I need these girlies to get their lives together for my sake as a reader. there's one scene in particular where Isa is crashing with some disgustingly wealthy friends at the beach and keeps getting callously dismissed while sweating profusely and trying to figure out how she's going to convince them to keep paying for her food and it was so visceral that I developed a second, worse anxiety disorder because of it. Granados' writing is stylish, to be sure, but drama was not worth it for me.
The Magpie Lord (KJ Charles, 2013) - this historical fantasy romance is quick, dynamic, and horny. I can't actually say that I'm particularly charmed by the quality of the writing, which is there to hurtle you at warp speed between scenes of homoeroticism and bald exposition about magic, but I do admire Charles' panache. the book opens on a rather gruesome scene of our protagonist, Lord Crane, attempting to slit his own wrist; it quickly becomes clear that this isn't because he's genuinely suicidal, but because he's been cursed by persons unknown in an attempt to drive him to ruin. enter Stephen Day, a magic practitioner who hated Crane's deceased father and brother but is determined to help him all the same. some plot happens, but also a lot of flirting and (spoilers) sex that comes with an actual power-up for Stephen due to the wonders of blood magic. a pulpy good-time all around, and short enough that it doesn't overstay its welcome.
The Fervor (Alma Katsu, 2022) - The Fervor is a historical horror with a tantalizing premise: in the 1940s, Japanese demons begin to manifest inside of an Idaho internment camp for Japanese-Americans, adding a swirl of the supernatural to a situation that's already rife with mundane horrors. the actual execution is... lacking. Katsu's prose is blunt at best; when I call it "unsubtle" I don't mean the way some racist might mean when they inevitably go on a ramble about how Katsu beats her readers over the head with how racism is bad. racism is bad, duh, and it's hardly unrealistic to emphasize the fear and hatred that dogged the lives of Japanese-Americans during WW2. when I say this book is unsubtle I mean Katsu approaches each chapter like her readers have maybe forgotten everything they read leading up to that moment; you will be reminded frequently of characters' names, relationships, and straightforward motivations. and yet, somehow, the actual plot is still pretty murky. much is hinted at in the protagonist's past in Japan, then never actually elucidated, a main POV character falls clean out of the plot without resolution just before the climax, I still don't know what was up with those goddamn demon spiders. disappointing!
there was also one very specific, GLARING thing in the ending of The Fervor that I did not care for in the slightest, but that's tucked away on my Patreon in the monthly hater post. pay me if you want to hear about some CRAZY copaganda!

vampire leon and vampire hunter matthew oh i would do ANYTHING to read it!! the TENSION the ATTRACTION it would SERVE!!!
hello thank you for your enthusiasm about vampire leon and his vampire hunter boyfriend!! i spent much of the weekend pondering but i'm bad at being online and being social at the same time so now i am catching up on my asks, thank you for your patience as well.
i'm not a super traditional vampire girlie but i do enjoy the occasional vampirey media and i love creative vampire/mythical creature worldbuilding so a lot of the fun in this concept for me is just figuring out the worldbuilding. many years later i still think regularly about this michael dal colle/leon draisaitl vampire fic, even though i have not had a single other thought or feeling about michael dal colle otherwise in my entire life (leon is not the vampire in it, alas, but the baby leon characterization is lovely). because the worldbuilding, especially the background vampire politics and the logistics of vampires integrating into "normal" society/playing in the nhl are so fun and interesting. i also think about like, true blood, which i have only seen bits and pieces of, but the whole humanizing/integrating vampires of it all, and of course buffy (beloved) and more traditional vampire/monster-hunting type stories.
i think someone could write a really fun full-on vampire/vampire hunter au, but because of who i am as a person i want a fic where they have this vampire stuff going on and still have to deal with their hockey careers, lol. my basic idea is something like (subject to change as i continue to ponder): a couple of generations there was some sort of accords/treaty reached between vampires and vampire hunters, because of the way the world was changing, it being much more difficult to hide, and also some sort of development that made it easy for vampires to feed without killing humans and kind of... put a damper on their vampire-ness, made it easier for them to blend in if they chose to, and the vampire powers that be decided that they should all do that, for safety. obviously there are still rogue vampires out there and still hunters who try to hunt down and kill even the ones minding their own business but for the most part at this point everyone minds their own business unless something particularly bad happens.
so matthew's grandparents were the last tkachuks to actually hunt vampires. keith was trained, did a little hunting in his youth as the kinks and wrinkles of the new order got ironed out, but was able to go on and have his hockey career instead of dedicating his life to hunting. then matthew, brady, and taryn come along, and they're kind of trained, just in case, and taught how to recognize vampires, taught how to protect themselves, taught all the ways vampires are still not human and not to be trusted and highly dangerous, but they're still able to go on and live normal lives.
until matthew starts playing against leon draisaitl. and he's spotted vampires out in the world before, but never in hockey — they tend to keep low profiles, and even at the lower-levels, team sports are not low-profile, and also matthew has just never imagined vampires caring about sports at all, although maybe that's a stereotype, but whatever — anyway. it takes him a few games to figure out what's up with draisaitl, and even when he starts suspecting, he's not sure, but then one battle of alberta matthew gets in a fight and ends up with a bloody face, and as he's ushered past draisaitl on the way to the box, he sees the way draisaitl is staring, the way his pupils are dialated, the way his throat moves when he swallows, the way his tongue darts out and matthew swears, he swears he sees a hint of fangs even though he knows those only come out when a vampire is feeding or in a bloodlust. and maybe he's just dizzy from getting punched but for a second when their eyes meet he is sure he feels that thing his dad and granddad warned him about, the way that if a vampire looks you in the eye he can hypnotize you. or read your mind. maybe both. the lore is kind of fuzzy. but obviously matthew is going to have to find him after the game. to find out what the fuck draisaitl is doing here, and figure out if he's going to have to put any of that training he never thought he'd need to use. because it feels dangerous, having a vampire in the league. it feels way too close for comfort.
#ask#this got long but i'm not sorry. let me live my truth (spitballing fic ideas onto tumblr instead of actually writing them)#vampire leon tag#matthew and leon#hockey for ts

"And now this girl has the power to undo this tragedy." This foreshadowing hint at bnha 374 that getting through to Himiko Toga peacefully is one of the key points to ending this conflict. It will be difficult since Hawks refuses to let go of his anti hero phase to realize he is only creating martyrs with the league of villains. It makes them feel more vengeful and justified to continue fighting against the hero society that will only cause the war be extended further. Himiko's angry right now.
Yep
I am fully convinced Toga is the beginning of the shift in tide.
Shouto and Midoriya have the right idea, but haven’t figured out what to do yet. Lots of things still need to happen on those fronts—new information is needed, things to be seen and heard etc.
So I think Ochacko will figure it out first out of the three.
But I think that because Toga has been trying to help her figure it out. She’s open about everything. She hasn’t minced words. She can’t express what her ideal world is because she doesn’t know what that would even look like since she’s been treated like shit her whole life. And that’s why Ochacko hasn’t figured it out either. The more I look at their conflict the more I feel like they need each other to figure out what kind of world Toga is trying to achieve. Because context tells us that Toga isn’t wanting to just slice people freely without consequence. If there is anything we have learned about what she wants, it’s certainly not that.
Also Toga is the most independent out of the remaining villains.
Touya is letting his fate entirely depend on his dad. If his dad hasn’t seen him yet, Touya is still burning, and still suicidal.
Shigaraki, well, honestly not much of an explanation is needed. Zero independence there.
Spinner also. We saw the effects of that recently. He had a little bit of recent development in a more positive direction for himself, but for the villains as a group I’m not so sure. We’ll see how the butterfly effect of Kurogiri waking up affects things.
Kurogiri may be slowly dissipating in favor of Shirakumo coming through, but we learned this chapter with the chip in Nana’s hand that he’s still operating under AFO’s command and influence. He’s still a pawn and hasn’t shown us that he’s fully broken free from that yet. I suspect an encounter with Aizawa will help, but not before things get worse, but we’ll see.
But TOGA? She pretty much has never really depended on anyone, or lost herself to someone else’s influence. She’s separated herself from the League numerous times to seek answers for herself. She’s diverted from plans to do what she wants—which in the past has involved getting close to the hero kids. She’s still operating under AFO’s command over all, but within those parameters she has been doing her own thing. I doubt trying to talk to Izuku and hoping for an understanding was within AFO’s plans (even though it didn’t work out, she still tried).
She’s the one openly seeking for someone to help her change, even if she isn’t saying it exactly like that.
It wouldn’t surprise me at all if she’s the first to take the helping hand offered to her.
#bnha#boku no hero academia#anonymous#toga himiko#I love talking about toga#second to tomura she’s the most fun to think about#bnha 374

Okay i’m going to go off the racks with this one, but while he’s in a coma Buck is having this dream of how things would’ve gone if Daniel did’t die, and it’s sort of a search for himself and the reconciliation with the kid that he could have been, the family and the parents that he never had, in order to grow.
I feel like Eddie wasn’t in that dream for a reason and it’s gonna sound crazy but here we go. As Buck realizes that he is enough he runs through the hospital and comes across people trying to stop him from returning, like obstacles he has to overcome. He doesn’t come acrosss Eddie, but he does find Christopher.
Christipher says: “help i’m lost, can you help me find my dad?”
Buck “sorry you’re but you’re not real and i have to go
as he runss away he says “i know i’m going to regret That one later. “
My theory for why eddie wasn’t in the dream was
1. Buck would have probably stayed with him (dead) 😅 and
2. up until that point he hasn’t seen Eddie for what he truly is, and he has to find himself and accept who he is in order to find Eddie too
but buck couldn’t have stayed in the dream with Eddie because he hadn’t figured it out yet, he doesn’t understand yet that he is lovable and that there are people in his life that love him for who he already is, he can’t see himself clearly.
metaphor for being struck by lightning and enlightening your thoughts huhhhh
S6:E12 Recovery
I love the couch theory 😭🫶 In this episode Buck can’t sleep in his couch (the one his mom bought) at all, and when he leaves a note to Maddie saying he was going out, he actually meant going to Eddie’s house <3 as soon as he touches the couch he is 😴 out of it. Buck it feels like the only place you are safe and comfortable is your best friend’s couch. See also every one of them has their spot on the couch! 😭 Buck left > Chris middle > Eddie right.
I am SO normal about this
They are so husband coded omfg
Eddie *talking about when he was shot* “so now am i allowed to ask how you are ? 😠😠”
Okay so read this post then come back here because Eddie says to buck
“Allow yourself to feel it”
allow yourself to feel it…
S6:E13 Mixed feelings
I love that aside from Just Hanging Out Chris and Eddie are also supporting (and entertaining) the idea of Buck’s new super powers, because of the lightning strike.
i have a theory that buck knows math because in the dream he was a math teacher, he never really figured out what it is he taught but i feel like that is it.
what’s up with that poker game? omg everyone there for sure thought they were boyfriends.
“three minutes”
Eddie “THREE MINUTES ANS SEVENTEEN SECONDS”
eddie is also so normal about this hahaha he’s gone
Buck playing and Eddie watching over him looks like a mafia boss and his boy toy out for some fun
S6:E14 Perfomance Anxiety
Eddie’s tia sets him up for a date and when he’s talking to the team about it he says that dating feels like a performance. ok gay.
Hen also gives him a sideye like she knowwwss. see also i laughed at the meme like ten minutes. 😂😂
S6:E15 Death and taxes
I feel like Eddie is so pissed and catious about Buck starting to date Natalia, he tells him that’s it’s not going to work out and when Buck says that she “sees” him for who he really is Eddie looks so conflicted.
S6:E17 Love is in the air
okay so Eddie decides to take matters into his own hands so his Tia leaves him alone about dating and it is NOT a coincidence that almost every woman he sees is either gay or married to that guy that checks him out in the golf course 😭😭 i screamed out loud at that HAHHDHA Eddie is like a gay magnet i fear
Alsoo!!! Eddie in the cafeteria is dressed with a grey shirt and a black puffed vest, as is the lady with the gay guy, same outfit… any thoughts?
Buck what’s with the ring cutter?!?!! that look he gives Maddy like you really wanna know why i have it 😭😭
he a ho
Eddie subconsciously realizing that he has never dated a woman for real and that comes from his upbringing of heteronormativity and fear of divorce? i know for my part (i’m mexican) that divorce is viewed as a failure and a disgrace. i also liked that he talked to his tía Pepa and he finds out she has divorced an remarried, he looks surprised because as i said, divorce are sort of a hush hush and taboo topic in our culture. so hopefully he starts his growing journey soon.
S6:E18 Pay It Forward
I know this is not the purpose of this rant thread but i loved seeing the mirroring between the first season when there is a full moon and the women are giving starting to give birth simultaneously and Buck is close to useless and that woman has to give birth herself 😂 and now, where Kameron is starting to give birth and he is caalm, and calls 911 and knows exactly what to do and what to say, i think it was a great example of his growth 🫶
Buck doesn’t learn, he’s just gonna jump and ask Natalia to pick a couch with him 😐
i really liked this season, as always if you have anything to add feel free go in the comments or repost 😚

Spiders can have little a toothpaste, as a treat
So this was from god knows how long ago but considering I might actually start posting on this app I figured hell I'll start with the spider toothpaste rant as a treat.
It starts when I sit down to write a Spider-man and Daredevil fanfiction where Peter Parker gets changed very young and due to the world being a bit more dystopian after the Sokovia Accords May Parker has to give Peter to Matt to take care of and hide. Because Peter isn't just given powers, he is definitely a whole lot more spider. Extra limbs, eyes, venomous, picks up spider mannerisms etc.
So where does toothpaste come to play here? Well most toothpastes are mint and I happened to know Mint was a good spider repellent cause I love mint and dislike spiders near me.
And I went: wouldn't it be funny is little Peter didn't want to brush teeth cause mint to Matt's confusion.
It was supposed to be one maybe two lines to show that Peter was very much spider now.
Then I was looking up stuff that was repellent for spiders and I see baking soda. And I go…. fuck that's what's in non-minty toothpaste/the only toothpaste I know that isn't minty off the top of my head. That page also tells me that something called DE is instant kill for spiders. I go "what's DE?" Turns out it is an instant kill for spiders and great for dental health so much so that it is often used for homemade toothpaste so you don't have to buy all the chemicals and some toothpastes already have it.
So Fuck. I'm lucky that Matt didn't instantly make Peter sick/kill him.
Then I think wait what about salt water?
Instant kill for spiders.
Holy fuck why does everything kill spiders. This thing is curing my arachnophobia cause hot damn spiders are shit at surviving it seems. And like yes I know they can survive fine but they cannot survive toothpaste via my google searches. And now I'm also very very into trying and finding a toothpaste that Matt can give Peter and not have Peter reject cause it makes him sick.
Also at this point I've decided that all of this is going into the fic, cause I'm doing all this research and it's funny.
Finally I find charcoal toothpaste that doesn't have any instant kills or repellents in it. Charcoal's only use against spiders is that if you are not it can help draw out the venom but you can do that with snakes too. Great amazing.
Then just to be sure cause I've been cursed to be the curious cat that keeps using up it's lives for research I look at what is on charcoal.
Sawdust.
I look up what type of wood sawdust is normally made from.
Pine, for, spruce, hemlock, CEDAR, and redwood.
Cedar is repellent for spiders which means there is a 1 in 5 chance that everytime that Matt tries the toothpaste on Peter, Peter has a reaction cause heightened senses remember? So now something that was supposed to be two lines and funny is about a page and Matt is feeling tested by god because I'm feeling tested by god.
So I have him make his own charcoal and in turn his own charcoal toothpaste and declare himself victorious at being able to find spider safe toothpaste.
Will anyone appreciate the effort?
Probably not.
Matt will continue to scream into pillows.
However this rant became my go to silly rant during Covid and is almost two years old now? and when meeting new people cause it's funny and it lets me see how they react when I info dump. Like my dad who told me I was wasting my time verses my friend who has now heard it like 4 times start to finish and thinks it is great.
But then I got a development on this rant after two years because I too hate toothpaste with a passion it just feels gross and leaves mouth weird and fucks with tongue. And so my mom as a joke got me kids strawberry toothpaste which upon reading the ingredients realized that children's toothpaste might have worked perfectly fine to solve Matt's problem which is fucking funny as hell. However the silica that a lot of them have might actually not been great cause it can dry out bugs, which is partly why you can use some types as toothpaste in small amounts as a pest repellent! The other reason is they fucking hate the smell. Again toothpaste against bugs is an interesting thing.
But yeah your right spiders can have toothpaste, but they probably won't like it.
