Played! I enjoyed it. I only have 7 hours in it, though.

In fact, my personal buddy is suuuuper into Dredge, it's his favorite game. We played it zealously together during a visit, during which I got absolutely mobbed by like every random monster ever at Gale Cliffs. The squid. The ray. The thing that rots your fish. The actual big mama monster who lives in the cliffs.

He remarked he had NEVER seen such bad luck before lmaoooo

Women want me but the fish do not fear me, sadly. The fish and I are engaged in mutually assured destruction.

#I like the idea of Dredge and its fishing #But it didn't scratch my itch in the way I hoped #I think it's because functionally you Are a boat #It's a fantastic game dgmw this is absolutely not a criticism. The choice to have the player only ever be in their boat is solid.#It contributes to the atmosphere and generally lonely and mysterious atmosphere of the setting #Both mechanically and artistically it is the ideal move.#It's just that player customization and social sim aspects are usually major parts of the games I enjoy most #Customization/sim elements/collectathons/survivalcraft/community management/sandboxes. Those are my jam.#So Dredge was not the answer to my prayers because it didn't have enough of my 'wishlist' mechanics. For lack of a better word #I will absolutely play more the next time I hangout with my buddy tho.
