The last wild birds went extinct in the 1980s. The entire population, of about 200, live entirely in captivity. Declines were due to deforestation and overhunting.

The Man in the Uniform ch.14 is up!

Summary:

Chloe finds a revelation, a conspiracy and her resolve.

“We know it's you, Twilight. Surrender now and we can make this as painless as we can”. The pair of blue eyes sharpened and remained silent but Chloe kept pushing through her cover. “Why did you save me in Praug? No, why did you save me now?” She asked, sure that he wouldn’t answer and that she might have to fight him eventually. He couldn’t know. The man took a few steps forward and the hold on Chloe’s gun waivered.

“Who are you?” The man finally asked. His voice felt flat, almost like it wasn't his own, making it hard for her to recognize.

“I'll ask the questions here!” She spoke just as she was met with a gun pointing at her once more.

“Chloe Castle…” The voice insisted, and she unlocked her gun. This is Twilight, no doubt about it.

“What do you want from me? Or Yuri Briar?” She asked again, finding the strength in her arm as her own name was being mentioned. They were on the same team, but did he know already? She stammered.

“Good morning… or should I say”...The spy’s voice began.
