having to fucking /pinch/ myself every time I want to start rambling about how WWI could've possibly escalated into what it did with every available facet and factor of what warfare costs not just in terms of manpower (nevermind that the fighting wasn't just exclusively in Europe) in ULTRAKILL's universe, because it's just SO easy to just handwave it off as Hell somehow providing the means and resources for it to perpetuate and grow the way it did.
