"I wouldn't be able to keep one because like I said, their little naked tails creep me out." There was just something about their thick naked tails that gave her chills down her back. She wouldn't deny they have really cute face and cute little round ears, but their tails were just creepy. She smiled happily at his reaction to her description of him. "Yeah, well I like to think that I know my kitties and cat type people really well." she said with a small laugh. "Yeah? Well if you mean cat person like having them as pets, that makes sense since I'm not exactly the most mentally healthy person. But I also suppose it makes sense for people with cat personality as well."

"Well maybe for the handcuffs maybe they're not that stable. My other stuff is good quality..." she trailed off with a small blush. "Yeah? Real ones seem so uncomfortable, I've never used them before. I've seen people get bruises from them before. Yeah I definitely don't think I would be able to truly hold you back. I have even had big dogs drag me before." she said the last bit with a bit of a laugh.

"That's when it's the worse. When you think you deserve the bad things that are happening to you." she agreed "Yeah? Well to put it simply, that side of me is kind of the opposite of the me you see in front of you. A lot more bratty and bossy, and most of the time not in a cute way either. That side of me also definitely drinks a lot more than I normally do!" She raised a brow and looked at him curiously. "You do? I'm kind of interested to see that side, I bet it's a cute side of you. Yeah that's true... it can be."

"I think I can be like that. Overly understanding of people's wants and needs sometimes, even their emotions and actions." she admitted with a small shrug.

Once they separated from the kiss her face was bright red. "I... um... uh..." she tripped over her words, feeling a bit flustered and shy. She really wasn't expecting such a sudden kiss from him. For some reason the kiss made her feel far more shy and bashful than when he bit her and she wasn't sure why. She didn't typically get so shy from just a kiss.

"Lucky me that I don't have a tail like that. Guess I would have needed to hide it for all eternity and you'd never see me naked." He snorted amusedly. "Or would you be freaked out by my dick, too? It's not hairy either after all." A smug smirk appeared onto his face. "Yeah, I meant cat owners. But maybe it's just that cat owners have a cat personality themselves. Feeling understood by them. Though I guess I can deal better with dog personalities. If the members of my clan were all like cats I'd go crazy. Too independend and rather thinking they're my owner than vice versa." He nodded with a smile.

"Is it? So your sex toys are important to you?" To see her becoming bashful didn't make him want to drop this topic again, thus he displayed a curious expression that told openly that he had his fun teasing her. "They are uncomfortable, yeah, but that's the point. /Can/ be the point. Depends on if you're into getting bruises from them." Fuji certainly wouldn't have that much of a problem. "Big dogs? You're so fucking light, huh? Really a petite lil' fairy." The last sentence involved some marvelling tone that had something tender. He found this imagination quite cute.

"Guess we'll show each other several sides of ourselves with time. It would be so fucking weird if we had just one side after all. If it seemed like that it would be obvious there's lots of stuff we hide." He snickered and played with the ends of his long strands. "I can be cute, and you can be bossy. But it doesn't mean I'll be obedient." He said this in a sly, slightly challenging tone, his eyes almost looking like the ones of a cat as he smiled so widely, his fangs showing as well.

"That can be dangerous, if you always be the understanding one. Can make you forget to protect yourself if you can see something valid in everything people do." But Fuji asked himself as well often where people were coming from and wanted to figure out their reasons.

That this kiss had taken her aback this obviously and this much was exciting him in fact. Not that he didn't savor the sensation of her soft lips just as well, but this effect was almost the best part. "I assume you liked me kissing you", he concluded and stroked her cheek with his knuckles. "Does gentle me make you swoon that much, huh?"

The Hollow Knight Loredive You Never Wanted To Read: Flukemarm Edition

Okay so I'm a stem major and I was doing my biology lab test yesterday, labeling tapeworm genitals, when something occurred to me: Flukemarm...doesn't really look like an actual fluke, apart from the fact that she's vaguely cigar shaped. Actual flukes don't feature the segmentation on her body, which is a trait that comes into play with annelid worms, not to be mistaken with flukes under any capacity. Flukes are a member of the phylum platyhelminthes (the flatworms), and typically are parasitic in nature, with only a few species being naturally free-living in the environment.

But you know what member of platyhelminthes DOES look like it has segmentation, and can occassionally live outside of a host if the conditions are just right? Tapeworms.

That's right. Flukemarm is a tapeworm.

Here's my reasoning as follows:

-Both tapeworms and flukes are members of phylum platyhelminthes, but flukes are class trematoda while the tapeworms are class cestoda. That's not too far of a jump, really, compared to the segmented worms (the annelids) Granted, Flukemarm does look...unfortunately round, but given the fact that Hollow Knight is a 2d game, for all we know she's flat

-Tapeworms bodies are composed of segments known as proglottids that are basically just tested, ovaries, and a genital pore. Because they don't have a digestive system, pretty much all that they do is passively absorb nutrients in the gut and reproduce. And guess what Flukemarm is covered in! Holes that spit out children like no tomorrow.

-The fact that the flukes appear confined to the Waterways and do the whole passive digestion of nutrients means that the Waterways very well could function as the 'intestines of Hallownest', allowing them to live freely without a larger host. Hell, perhaps the fluke race were originally tapeworms whose huge primary hosts all died out, which means that they were forced to free-live in bug sewage systems to survive

-In addition to the proglottids being basically just breeding factories, they are also known for breaking off and living free for months, which makes sense why you can break apart the flukes and then have them spring back up trying to kill you

-Tapeworm mouths/hooks also look like fluke mouths, esp. with baby flukes. Please don't look those up.

-Flukes themselves also tend to undergo a couple different stages of life before they look like worms, such as a ciliated larvae form (hairy ball) and one that kinda looks like an egg with a mermaid tail to swim from their intermediate hosts to their definitive hosts. We see baby flukes and they look like little flukemarms with teeth, which is basically all that is required of a wee lil worm

-The fact that the fluke race is larger than most of the denizens of Hallownest points to them actually being tapeworms because one of the intermediate hosts for baby flukes are typically snails, which the babies that we see would be incapable of infecting without killing (in which case they would no longer be classified as parasite

-Some mushrooms apparently use their mycelium to snare and eat roundworms/flatworms alive so it wouldn't surprise me if the reason why the flukes grew to be so out of hand now is bc WL fucked off to her gardens and the shrooms of the Fungal Wastes got their asses infected instead of keeping the population on the down-low as usual

So, in conclusion: Flukemarm isn't a fluke, she's actually a tapeworm along with all of her followers/spawn, and the likely reason why they're infesting everything in the Waterways is bc there's no longer any mushrooms snaring and eating them alive, as mushrooms do.

To anyone who didn't want to read this: I'm truely sorry. Really, I am. But also if I have to sit and label tapeworm ovaries while thinking about how much I would rather be drawing Hollow Knight shit, things are going to slide into place whether we like it or not
