*in a directors chair getting interviewed* yeah so basically hansel’s journal or TAHaERAHEm is a story about sickness. not just physical disability but also the burden of depression and loss. yeah i based lots of it on my own experiences with becoming and living as a disabled person, the day by day struggle of learning to live with a body that is no longer yours and won’t be for a very very long time. you’ve lived with this sliver of hope that somehow everything will be better and all work out but that sliver is getting smaller and smaller and you’re not sure if you can see it anymore yeah. you have to hope.

it’s also story about family and the family you make and the people you meet at their most vulnerable. It’s a story about love. it’s a story about caring so much you rip a hole in the middle of you. it’s a story about loving everyone you’ve ever known. we’ve got these main themes of vulnerability, bitterness, loss, healing, growing, changing, and those are themes yeah but they’re also just life. and sometimes life is about laying in bed writing about a dragon guy whom you relate too a little too much. wait what were we talking about again? oh yeah that next chapter is almost done and it’s long. anyway.
