He never thought he would receive something like this until he met you.

You always treat him with so much love and affection, that he even thought about the possibility of this happening one day, but he always thought he was dreaming too much.

But when you appeared at his desk holding a small box wrapped in a flowery cloth, he felt like he might pass out right there.

Yamaguchi is someone who is very insecure about himself, as he has not received attention from any person in a romantic way, so receiving something simple but as comforting as a homemade lunch means a lot to him.

"Huh!? This is for me...? T-Thank you very much!!"

You can be sure he was all flushed when he took the bento from your hands.

And if you have any doubts that he didn't like it, put it out of your mind immediately! Tsukishima will definitely complain to you the next day saying that Yamaguchi talked about your bento all day.

Kenma Kozume

We all know that Kenma is someone who eats very little, and it's no wonder he has the smallest appetite in the series.

You worry a lot about his diet and how it affects his well-being, and as he is a volleyball player, he needs to eat well to be in good shape for every game!

And to help him, you thought about making a complete bento for him at least once a week.

So when you walked towards him with a bento box in your hands, he didn't think it was for him and that it was your own bento, but those thoughts soon dissipated when you shyly handed him the box perfectly wrapped in a polka dot cloth.

Obsessed with technology, Kenma always has his cell phone or console in his hand while eating a meal.

Then It was an unexpected surprise to see him putting away his video game to eat the bento you made for him.

And if you give him a delicious slice of apple pie, he will definitely try to eat better to get the dessert.

Akaashi Keiji

As someone who has the habit of taking care of others around him, he was probably the one who gave you a bento earlier, so as a thank you, you decided to make one for him too.

Even if he never said it to you, it's quite noticeable how much he likes onigiris, seeing as he brought one to school almost every week.

And that was why the bento you prepared was full of onigiri of different flavors, as you weren't really sure which flavor was his favorite.

Akaashi would certainly be very grateful for the surprise, and he may be a little shy about the gift and sometimes doesn't show his emotions as much, but you've known him long enough to know that he loved the bento you prepared for him.

"Oh, that's for me?" He takes the bento from your hands, and when he opens it, he finds onigiris that you made yourself.

"Thank you, my love." He gives you a small smile, and when no one is looking, he plants a kiss on your cheek.

Also, don't be surprised if Bokuto appears out of nowhere and eats some of the onigiris you made for Akaashi, he usually eats his friends' snacks (and doesn't share when someone wants to eat his snack💀).

Oikawa Tooru

He has certainly received several bentos or snacks from his fans, and no matter how willingly he accepts each gift, he has never been so interested in it.

But his opinion is totally different when it comes to you, he appreciates every thing you do for him.

We all know he can be a little cheeky sometimes, so expect to get a comment from him bragging about himself.

"But of course you wouldn't resist the thought of spoiling me, I'm irresistible after all." says Tooru giving you a wink.

Just give him a serious look and he stops talking in the same second...😭

Oikawa will beg you to feed him, blatantly lying that his hand is hurting at that moment.

He'll be bragging to his third-year friends about how he has such an amazing partner and they don't, but not until Iwazumi threatens to throw him off a cliff.

Tendou Satori

Just like Yamaguchi, Tendou is someone who has never caught anyone's attention romantically, and is even excluded because of his different appearance than other people.

So when he receives a bento from someone he loves so much, he will definitely remember it forever.

Trust me, he'll have a passionate smile written on his face and with the brightest eyes while listening to you talk about how you prepared his favorite food.

He would probably first make some joke about the situation, to try to ease his own shyness, but later he will genuinely show his gratitude in every possible way.

Tendou loves being around you, so expect lots of hugs and little kisses during lunch, in addition to his lots of compliments for the bento you made.

The next day, he probably would surprise you with a dessert he made especially for you, like truffles, cookies or even cupcakes!

And please give him lots of compliments too!! This way, he will prepare something every week for you.🌷

The bells chime as you enter the local patisserie Tendo works at, greeted by the workers while you search for a certain redhead..It was pretty easy to get lost in the delectable aroma of chocolate which attracted customers here and there.

“Oh my! A wild Y/N has appeared!” A voice calls out from the kitchen, just from that alone you knew who it was. “Tendo!” You shout back, approaching him as you both do a silly handshake you guys made up. “Are you sure we can't just greet each other with a kiss? As much as I love our handshakes, I think it'll be easier!” He suggests, giving your hand a playful smooch while you pout. “I think the handshake is still better..” You answer, chuckling as you look up at him with your hands on your hips.

“Now, what are the specials on the menu today?” You ask, lifting your head up to read the menu for today. Then you hear Tendo chuckle, his sleepy expression contradicting his rather energetic and cheerful self. Her attention diverts to the silly smile he was making, raising a brow in curiosity, you ask. “Hmm? What's with the silly face?” “Nothing! Can't I carry my silliness around like a medal or sash?” He answers, grinning like an idiot. He signals you to stay put as if he was talking to some kind of trained puppy and heads to the kitchen, fortunately he doesn't take long. Coming out of the kitchen, he held a box wrapped with a pink satin ribbon.

“For youuu, my sweet!” He spoke, a cheeky grin forming on his lips. “Woah! Thank you Tori, it really looks like you outdid yourself this time!” You praise, opening the box and letting yourself breathe in the scent of the bonbons. You take a piece and stuff it in your mouth, mumbling incoherently as you chew on the confectionery. “Hmm..were you sad this morning Tori?” You ask, swallowing and cleaning your lips of any excess chocolate. Though his face still had a slight smirk you could sense that you were in fact right.

It was an odd trait of yours actually, you've had it ever since you were a child. However it was particularly strong when you met and tasted Satori’s desserts, you could tell how he was feeling when he made the chocolates. “A little, it rained unexpectedly so it ruined my mood. But that doesn't matter right now! As long as I’m with you my life is even sweeter!”

❀ He loves resting his head on your chest while you rub circles on his back or run your hand through his hair. Add words of affirmation to that and he's in literal heaven.

❀ Sharing hoodies with you is a must. You wear his and he wears yours. His heart melts whenever he sees you wearing his hoodie. You look so cute!

❀ He feels more motivated when you cheer him on during his matches. He doesn't want to disappoint you, so obviously he does his best to score as many points as possible. His team thanks you for that.

He can hear you shuffling around a bit. He's curious. Why did you cover his sight? What do you want to show him? And what smells so delicious?

"Okay, you can take off the blindfold now."

With that, he pulls off the sleepmask, blinking in surprise and awe at what he perceives.

"Do you like it?"

Before him lies a tray full of wonderful cupcakes, each one looking unique. His lips curve into a bright smile as he admires the cupcakes.

"It took me quite some time to perfect them," you tell him sheepishly, rubbing the back of your neck.

"They all look so tasty, sweetheart!" He grabs one of the cupcakes and inspects it further. A violet glaze with purple and pink hearts on them.

"May I take a bite?"

"Of course, they're supposed to be eaten, Satori!"

He carefully takes a bite out of the cupcake. His taste buds are overwhelmed by the immaculate flavor. It tastes like strawberries!

"They're so yummy, (Y/N)! I love them!"

He finishes his cupcake and then wraps his arms around you, holding you in a tight embrace. He nuzzles his face into your hair and inhales deeply. He smiles. You smell just like the cupcakes.

Tendou Satori never prioritized romance in his life.

Why would he really? He finally had a fulfilling life: real friends, a passion he was excelling at, an environment he could thrive in. Finally, he wasn’t a creep, an outcast: he belonged. 

However, he would lie if he said he never thought about it. Of course, he did! He is just a teenager after all. But deep down, he is also a romantic. Only Ushijima knew that Satori reads all types of shoujo mangas and sometimes jokes that „if I won't have a love like that, I don’t want it!” (except the ones with miscommunication trope, these ones can go to hell).

He did not expect that this day, dull, windy, boring Wednesday would be the day he’d finally fall hard.

„Do you want something from the vending machine?” Tendou asked Ushijima during the break in between classes. 

„No need” Wakatoshi answered, making Tendou go all of the distance on his own. It's not as if he minded, he liked this alone stroll to his favorite vending machine, the only one in the school that sells the best brand of strawberry milk. 

When he arrived, the area was surprisingly empty, with only two or three people around. 

Tendou looked into his pockets to find any remaining coins, that he usually kept exactly for this part of his day. As he took a coin into his slim fingers, he saw a hand already putting their coin into the machine. 

„Sorry” you two said at the same time, standing close to each other. You smiled awkwardly feeling a little embarrassed that you didn’t notice someone. But Tendou? He was gone the second your eyes met. 

He felt the air leaving his lungs and his pupils widened. It felt like he was struck by lightning. He was just speechless. 

As you didn’t get any verbal reaction, you just continued to put the rest of the coins to the machine and you pressed the button. The red-haired guy looked at the machine and felt like he got transferred into a shoujo manga, and he was the protagonist. 

„Do you like strawberry milk?” He asked breaking the silence. You took the drink out of the machine and looked at him surprised. 

„Y-yeah. This one is my favourite, this is probably the best brand…” he couldn’t believe what he just heard. You looked at the machine and instantly panicked. 

„Oh no, you wanted this milk too? I think I just took the last one” you nervously scanned all of the options looking if there was any other strawberry milk left, as the spot from where you took yours was empty. „Oh no, I’m so sorry!”

Normally, Tendou Satori would sigh, shrug, and say that’s how it's supposed to be, but not this time. This was not a coincidence. This time, it was like all of the planets aligned for him. He looked at you with a smug at his face and then sighed dramatically. 

„This is actually my favorite drink of all time” he said with such a dramatic undertone. „I always have it before lunch, and today I have such an important match…. And I don’t know how I will handle it without my good luck charm, my routine” he sighed again and put the back of his hand on his forehead in the most dramatic position known to man. You really hoped he was joking, otherwise, you will start sweating nervously. You handed him the milk. 

„It's fine, I don’t need it that much…”

„No” he said and stopped your hand. His finger brushed your palm just for a second, and somehow still you felt a shiver going down your spine. „You got it, it's yours. However” he smirked. „How about you go on a date with me instead?”

You blinked twice, processing what you just heard. 

„…I’m sorry, what?” You couldn’t hide your surprise from him. But instead of getting all nervous and backing away from this bold request, he just sent you the warmest and brightest smile you ever saw. 

„Let's go out somewhere. We can get strawberry milk in a park, or go to the cinema: whatever you’d like.”

You felt your face getting warm and you crumbled under his gaze. You never expected to be asked out, especially not like this. 

„…Okay” you mumbled under your breath, hoping he wouldn’t notice your blush. You looked back at him, only to see an expression of a child getting their dream gift on Christmas all over his face. He took out his phone and handed it to you. 

Still in shock over what is happening right now, you put your number there, to an unknown guy from your school, and when you handed it back with your contact information, you noticed him repeating your name quietly as he was trying to engrave it in his memory. After that, he looked at you with the most adorable smile you saw. 

„I’m Satori Tendou” he introduced himself. You couldn’t help but think about how that’s you should start this encounter, not by agreeing on a date first. „And I think we will see each other way more often now” 

He walked away, leaving you with the feeling that he was right. 

At least you really hoped he was.

You stared at the text for an obscene amount of time. The number wasn’t saved in your phone- who was it? Who were they trying to reach? Should you even respond? You shook your head. You couldn’t focus on that, choosing to hurry ahead to the gym so the players didn’t have to wait for you. The only that could reach you right now would be Ushijima, as the captain he was the only one you traded numbers with.

Could the text be from a player?

You shook your head again. There was no way. Sure, these boys were essentially your lifeline since you lacked a social life outside of the club, but they didn’t you look at you like that.

No matter how much you wished just the one would.

He had been the reason you joined, not that he knew that. He was so determined, dreaming to become the ace- you just wanted to be there to see it happen.

So you pushed the text out of your head, it must’ve been a mistake.

But the next day you got another.

And one more the day after.

Every day there was new one.

Never the same message, never an acknowledgement when you finally told them they may have the wrong person.

Instead the messages had become personalized- like they were trying to make sure you knew they were meant for you.

Daily reminders that someone saw you.

If I had to embody you in a color, it would be yellow- because you make me feel like the sun is shining when you smile at me.

The care you put into being a manager is astounding.

No one could get the team to work as hard as you do.

But honestly, the daily reminders had you nervous. Ushijima was the first to say anything, though you were sure Tendou noticed it first.

“Something has you on edge.”

“As blunt as ever, huh?” You sighed, rubbing the side of your temple, “Yeah, I think I have a stalker.” The majority of the team hadn’t made it out of the club room yet, Ushijima and Tendou being the only ones around you.

“Stalker?” The red headed boy looked at you with those big curious eyes that made people distrustful of him, you never understood that. “Our amazing Y/N has a stalker?”

“Look for yourself,” you pulled the texts up, showing them, “I’m not sure how they got my number.”

Tendou made a considering face, but Ushijima started speaking, “Couldn’t that be-“

“An admirer, yes!” Tendou interrupted him so quickly, making the both of you frown, “They’re like modern day love notes.”

“But how did they get my number?”

Tendou shrugged, “Maybe someone close to you figured they could be trusted.”

You frowned deeper, watching the guess monster continue listing logical reasons.

Suspicious.

You watched the blocker as the days continued- he obviously wasn’t the mystery texter, but he knew who was.

He wasn’t going to tell you, he loved games too much, but there were only a few people that would’ve trusted Tendou Satori enough to let him in on this information.

And they were all on your team.

You waited until after practice on the walk back to the dorms, Tendou flitting around as usual- you knew he’d never lead you to the mystery man, but you didn’t need him to.

You just had to wait until they were all starting to relax. And then you sent the text.

I finally know who this is.

You had no idea, but right on cue someone’s phone buzzed.

And you felt like your heart seized in your chest as he pulled it out, nearly dropping the device as his hands fumbled from reading the message.

His cheeks almost as red as his accomplice’s hair, but you just smiled at him.

He was overzealous, he was confident, he was eager to learn- he had your attention from the first moment you saw him whether he was on the court or not.

And he liked you back, it seemed.

Tendou didn’t miss the exchange, ‘tripping’ as he moved to bother Shirabu, sending his blushing kohai stumbling into you.

“Hi, Goshiki.”

“H-hey.”

Smiling, you brushed your hand against his as he helped him regain his footing, “Thank you.”

“Y-yeah, you’re welcome.”

You chuckled, taking the risk to press a kiss to his cheek, “Next time just ask for my number.”

“My babbbyyyy,” Satori sing-songs, arms spread wide to greet you at the airport. “My baby’s here!”

You all but slam into his chest and within seconds he’s lifting your feet from the floor, twirling you around as he presses dozens of little kisses wherever he can reach. Satori lets out a pleased sigh as he squeezes you closer, crushing you into a hug. 

“I missed you so much.”

You capture his cheeks in your palms and plant a sweet kiss on his lips. “I missed you more.”

He returns you to your feet, but doesn’t let you slip away so easily. As you start to walk towards the exit, Satori loops his arm around your shoulders, tugging you close until no space remains between you. “Nuh-uh. Not possible. I almost withered away and died without your kisses!”

“You sound like Tinker Bell,” you tease, pinching his cheek.

Satori puffs his chest out a bit as you stop to wait for your cab to pull up. “We’re the same, her and I. We understand each other.”

The two of you make idle chit-chat as you push your weight into his side, his arm curled tightly around your waist, occasionally exchanging kisses to keep Satori alive.

When the cab finally pulls up, Satori is quick to pull your suitcase from your palm and the backpack from your shoulders, carefully packing them into the back of the car. Snapping the trunk of the taxi shut, Satori grins at you eagerly. “Are you ready for a Valentine’s Day in Paris, baby?”

The Valentine’s Day festivities start with a trip to the bakery down the road. On the walk there, Satori tells you he comes nearly once a day for a coffee and to gossip with the sweet older woman who owns the place. Apparently, he started watching her cat in exchange for French lessons and now they’re a dynamic duo. 

She gushes when the bell over the door signals Satori’s arrival, reaching across the counter to smooch both his cheeks. And when she locks eyes with you, she gives you much the same treatment, excitedly rambling in French.

Unfamiliar with the language, all you can do is smile and nod as Satori responds in stride. It flows from his tongue with practiced ease, hands moving animatedly as he gestures to you and then to the display case. You catch a thank you and a chocolate croissant order somewhere in there, but that’s where your French knowledge starts and ends.

When she turns to pull the treats he ordered from the glass display case, Satori worms his arm around your waist, brimming with pride. “She said you’re very beautiful, and she’s mad that I haven’t brought you around before.”

“You talk about me?”

His grin only grows. “Of course I do! Nicolette knows everything.” He pinches your side. “Even about all the times you’ve drooled all over my pillows.”

Scandalized, you reel back. “You didn’t.”

A kiss lands on the crown of your head in an attempt to soothe you. You can feel Satori’s smile against your hair. “I’m kidding. She thinks you’re un ange — an angel.”

Your cheeks burn as he pulls away and takes the box of treats from Nicolette. You both give your thanks, and she tells Satori to bring you back in before you leave. With a promise that he will, you set off to eat your pastries in the park.

Bellies full to bursting with fresh pastries and with sunshine warming your cheeks, Satori brings you to what he calls hidden gems. The streets bustle with life as he brings you first to a bookstore with old wooden floors and a creaky staircase that leads to shelves of vintage books that stretch far above your heads. 

Satori plucks a thin book with a red spine and gold lettering from the shelf and smiles. Long, lithe fingers flick through the different pages, his eyes scanning over the letters. In the silence, you crowd his space, peering over the top of the book to catch a peek at the yellowing pages. 

When his eyes meet yours, he taps the tip of your nose. “They’re love poems.”

“Since when are you a poetry kinda guy?”

He tucks the book under his arm and takes your hand. “Mm,” Satori fixes you with a gaze you can only describe as sweet before he leans in to kiss you. “I’m feeling inspired.”

The next “hidden gem” is a tacky, over-the-top souvenir shop close to the heart of the city. It’s jam-packed with tourists, all standing shoulder to shoulder as they peruse the Eiffel Tower-shaped hat options and the gaudy shirts with Paris plastered across the front with an Eiffel Tower as the “A”.

“This is a hidden gem?” You ask, cringing at the neon pink lettering of the shirt in front of you.

“Maybe not hidden,” Satori corrects, plopping one of the hats on your head, “but definitely a gem.”

The moment you’re able to, he crams you into the photo booth in the far corner, taking a little photo with a poorly designed Parisian border, one decorated with baguettes and berets and bright red hearts. In it, he’s squishing your cheeks in his palm to give you a fish face and pushing his nose into your cheek, lips puckered.

You leave that store with a keychain that proudly displays the new photo and a design that reads, “the city of love” plastered in sparkly black font below it.

Satori’s tour of Paris continues with a brief stop at his work for chocolate. There, a photo of the two of you together is pinned on the family cork board behind the counter. And as Satori puts his order in, his co-workers threaten to steal you away from him, friendly affection for your boyfriend glimmering in their smiles and hidden in their jokes.

Next, he brings you to a quiet rose garden tucked away from the hustle and bustle; a spot where you spend a quiet moment, munching on delicious chocolates and taking a break from the onslaught of tourists.

“Act natural.”

“What?”

With the dull snap of a stem, Satori tucks a soft pink, and thankfully thornless, garden rose behind your ear. Once it’s perched in its new spot, he presses a kiss to the shell of your ear before whispering, “You’re really not supposed to pick the flowers.” He pushes a stray hair away from your face, jostling the rose a bit as he does. “But I think they can make a Valentine’s exception, don’tcha think?”

After a long day filled with food and little shops and the warmth of Satori’s hand in your own, the whirlwind tour of his new home city comes to an end at the base of the Eiffel Tower at ten o’clock at night. Tourists and locals alike still meander about, sharing kisses beneath the twinkling landmark, but the cool night air has quieted the sidewalks, giving you a moment of peace. 

The moon sits high and bright in the sky, as you curl up between Satori’s legs, his chin hooked over your shoulder as he reads from the love poems book resting in your lap. Love settles and blooms between your ribs as beams of moonlight decorate the pages and kiss Satori’s fingers where they curl around the book. Your hand moves on its own, coming up to circle his wrist, rubbing a soothing thumb into his skin.

Satori’s voice travels on the breeze, the French rolling from his tongue in soft lilts — a poetry reading just for you. “... Les indifférents n'ont qu'une âme; Mais lorsqu'on aime, on en a deux.”

The concluding line is punctuated with a beat of silence and a kiss to the plush of your cheek.

“What does it mean?” You ask quietly, as if speaking any louder will shatter the moment.

He rereads the poem, kissing your temple every few lines. “... The indifferent have but one soul,” he translates, “but when you love, you have two.”

You nuzzle your cheek into his before turning in his arms, capturing his jaw in your palm and leaning in for a kiss. It feels like a promise, a press of your lips with a sense of finality. At that moment, you decide you never want to do this with anyone else.

“I love you,” you tell him the moment you part.

He regards you with honeyed affection, snuggling close to peck your nose and then your cheek before finally meeting your lips again. As the light of the Eiffel Tower casts his face in pretty, amber shadows, he assures you, “I love you more.”

"Baby, come to the kitchen!" you heard your husband calling you from downstairs as you were playing with Chihiro.

It was another one of those days that he spent almost entirely in the kitchen experimenting with new chocolate recipes. Sometimes he found himself a new bestseller, but most of the time you and your daughter just ate strange chocolate samples and nothing came of it.

You and Chihiro went downstairs, Chihiro almost falling down the stairs because she was so excited to try some chocolate.

"Tadaaa!" Tendou slid a tray of small chocolate samples towards you and Chihiro, smiling proudly and rather... mischeviously.

You helped Chihiro up on the chair, and her little hand immediately grabbed one of the chocolates, shoving it in her mouth. Both of you giggled at her eagerness.

"It'sh gooh!" Chihiro shouted, mouth full of chocolate. Tendou laughed, and said "What can I say, I've got a knack for making good chocolate."

"Not only is that factually untrue considering the amount of times I had to wash my mouth out after trying one of your weird chocolates, kids like anything sweet." you reached for one of the chocolates, smirking.

"Ouch, my heart's been shattered into a million pieces. You just don't understand my artistic expression." Tendou dramatically grabbed his chest, pretending to be hurt, but he still had a goofy smile on his face.

You put the chocolate in your mouth, and it tasted... normal. Strangely normal.

You shrugged it off, since there was usually one or two normal tasting chocolates among the selection every time he did this.

Chihiro was already on the third one, and she was praising each one of them, which you found a bit strange. By now she would usually be retching and telling Tendou one of them tastes gross.

So you followed behind her, tasting the second and third sample, and finding them to taste like good, regular chocolate.

Hmm, maybe he was actually more serious about expanding the menu of chocolates this time.

The fourth and fifth also tasted fine. Tendou smiled as he watched you two eating and praising his chocolate. But there was something... off about his smile.

You reached for the sixth and final sample and gave one to Chihiro, who devoured it immediately, smiled and said it tasted great. So you took the chocolate, putting it in your mouth and chewing, unsuspecting.

Immediately, your throat started to burn.

"Satori- What the-" you yelped. What the hell did he put in this chocolate?!

"What's wrong?" he asked with an innocent tone, but you knew better. "What did you- Put in this chocolate?!" you wheezed at the hot feeling in your throat.

He smiled mischeviously, pulling out a bottle of extra hot hot sauce. "Oh, just a bit of hot sauce. What do you think?"

"Hot sau-" you were in utter shock. So this is what he was planning all along. What a sly little devil. You ran to the fridge and started downing a carton of milk. Chihiro watched with a worried expression while Tendou cackled wildly.

Once the burning in your throat subsided a bit, you angirly looked to Tendou. "Satori, what the hell?!"

He laughed, wiping tears from his eyes.

"I'm sorry, it's just- I wanted to prank you a bit." he wheezed.

"You freaking- I'm so getting you back for this, you better watch your back from now on." you said poking his chest with your finger as a warning. You should have known he was planning something.

He just laughed in response.

"I hate you." you crossed your arms.

"I love ya too, darling." he smiled and pecked your cheek, and then the other.

"Hey, don't try and win my forgiveness with kisses. It won't work." you tried angling your head away, but he still somehow managed to land a kiss on your lips, making him giggle victoriously.

"Eww, dad! That's gross!" Chihiro yelled at the top of her lungs and ran upstairs to get away.

"Well, now we got the kitchen all to ourselves." Tendou looked at you, shrugging and smiling.

"So why don't you taste test something even sweeter than chocolate?"
