Hello me again, sorry if I'm getting annoying. I'll make this the last ask for a while.

That being said, this might be a bit of a ramble, so I'm sorry in advance. Anways, I have another way to look at Catnap, which I think you might find interesting. In most of the fanfics I've read, when Dogday is saved, he always has guilt over not being able to save his friends. Well, what if Catnap feels the same, but just from a different perspective.

I believe Catnap definitely did care about his friends, and killing them really did hurt. But what I think might have hurt even more was that he couldn't save them. Not in the since of them dying, but that he couldn't get them to follow the Prototype.

Sure, maybe the Prototype might have told him that they were safe with him now that he killed them. But I feel Catnap would have rather has his friends worshipping the Prototype with him. Rather than having to kill them for them to be "saved."

Also, something else I notice in the game. Catnap is rather skin, malnourishement, obviously showing. Whereas Dogday doesn't look too skinny. There's no way Dogday is able to get food since he's trapped in the cell we see him in.

This leads to two probabilities, one, Dogday hasn't been trapped in that cell for too long before we stumbled upon him. Or two, Catnap has been making sure to feed. Maybe so much so that he neglects to feed himself, so Dogday is fed. Which gets you to wonder if it is outcome two. Why would he care so much for a so-called "heretic" that he would forfeit eating for himself just to feed him?

THIS. AAAAAAAAAAAAA. YOU'RE SO CORRECT. To me Catnap as a character would be someone who would rather be worshipping the Prototype with his friends rather than alone. We know Theo was a "troubled" child, and to me he clings to his friends for dear life whenever he had them. I think that for the game, having Catnap feel bad for losing all of the Smiling Critters would make more sense narratively speaking and also add a lot more to the story's themes.

And I'm so glad I wasn't the only one to notice how skinny he was! I had the impression that the factory was either having a huge food problem (more than the usual), and/or that Catnap was feeding the cult (and even Dogday) with every little amount of food he had. Like! ARGH THAT IS SO TRAGIC. LIKE. SCREAMING. EXACTLY LIKE YOU SAID! WHY WOULD HE CARE SO MUCH FOR A HERETIC IF HE'S SO SKINNY AND DOGDAY IS LOOKING LIKE THAT?

Okay okay okay... Im not gonna say Vox 100% for sure doesn't actively enjoy other people suffering, or isn't at the very least apathetic to it, because. Look at him. Just look at him. But I WILL say that this is a really bad argument for that because Vox is putting on a front in this scene. Moments before this clip, while he was talking to Velvette, he dropped the act and then immediately put it back on(when he was saying "what's got him so out of sorts today"). Vox is not being genuine here. He very clearly isn't happy Val is beating the shit out of Velvette's models(not because he values them as individuals but because it's bad for busi- ARGH I HATE THAT I HAVE TO CLARIFY THAT I DON'T THINK VOX IS A GOOD PERSON-), and if you watch the full scene you can TELL. This bit is taken out of context, and if you take the context into consideration this isn't good evidence for the point that I assume you're trying to make(that Vox likes it when Velvette's models get killed by a rampaging Val). The scene where he lets Val shoot the lowest earners would probably be better evidence for this, but even then that still implies more apathy then it does active enjoyment. Which, I have to clarify because I don't trust this fandom's media literacy(not a dig at u OP Im just jaded from other posts...), APATHY IS NOT MORALLY BETTER, but it is a different type of bad. Vox, from what we've seen, seems to be more of an enabler than an actual sadist.

He does really like it when Alastor gets his ass kicked tho we know that much for sure-
