AND NOW I CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT DAY TRACING MORK’S TATTOO EITHER LIKE. day asking mork to describe himself so day can picture him in his head and mork not being sure what to tell him except for some very vague characteristic (brown hair, brown eyes, straight nose), but then he mentions the tattoo on his arm and day perks up, making questions about what it is and what it means. so mork takes his hand and guides it over the tattoo, making day’s fingers trace the lines of the three triangles over and over again as he explains the meaning of the valknut, how he decided to get it after his parents died because it was used as a way to honor the ones who passed away, how it’s also a spiritual symbol of life, death, and eternity

it’s the first time mork talks about himself so much, so day just listen quietly while his fingers commit to memory the lines engraved in mork’s skin. after that, day’s hand often wanders towards it, finding that same spot without fail every single time and tracing it almost absent-mindedly as he talks to mork. the gesture always makes shivers run down mork’s spine
