"Hi??" His sudden presence before them nearly had Penny dropping their phone, they had to scramble just to catch it. Penny vaguely recognized the stranger as one of a set of twin Battle Facility operators invited to their academy to give a presentation to the students. The whole thing was rather boring to Penny so they'd tuned most of it out, including the introductions. Before Penny had time to ask anymore questions however the older one was already talking again.

"Whose asking and whhhyyy...?" Was this a setup? Were they being pranked or was this some sort of weird test from the league to see if they'd break the rules? Or was this guy just really weird?

Peek-a-floof, pufflings!

We’re egg-cited to welcome the newest additions to our tufted puffin colony! These two fluffy puffin chicks (a.k.a. pufflings!) recently hatched here as part of a Species Survival Plan managed by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums that oversees the health and breeding of nearly 200 tufted puffins across 15 zoos and aquariums.

The adorable, fuzzy voids will grow up on exhibit, assisted by our un-beak-lievable aviculture and veterinary teams. You can peek at these precious pufflings among the diving birds in the Open Sea. It might be a little hard to spot them inside their burrows and they’ll be heading behind the scenes for a little while soon.  But don’t worry! They’ll be back on exhibit once they’re fully fledged. 

Chick #2’s name is… Yuzu! But we need your kelp naming Chick #1! Our animal care team has picked three options and we’re asking YOU to help us choose the perfect name by voting in the poll! ⬇️

This is how he reacts when you come to him crying because you lost your stuffie once again, and he is getting tired of it 😭 You don't even have to speak; just him hearing your footsteps coming towards him with sniffles getting louder, he already knows what's happening, :(( But he still asks you, 'Hey, what's going on this time, uh?' He acts all soft, but the moment you mention the real problem, he sighs and looks down at you like this🤭

He tries to not let it get to him but the fact you're standing in front of him because you most definitely lost your stuffie, again, was really testing his nerves. Still, he's staying calm to comfort you and help you, that's his job as your caregiver.

"A'ight, what happened this time?" He asks despite knowing the answer but he wants you to know that you can always come to him even for the smallest things.

"P-Puffles s'gone!" You sob and Rafe sighs, closing his eyes he purses his lips and scratches at one of his brows. He swears he's gonna cuff that lamb to your wrist, but the way he knows you you're still gonna manage to lose it anyway.

"Okay. Let's not freak out." He exhales, not knowing if he was more trying to assure himself or you. "Did you look everywhere?"

"'Course I did stupid!" You blurt out suddenly, your emotions too big of a mess to control them.

"Hey!" Rafe snaps his fingers, his eyes narrowing.

He has been calm and collected but there's a line when it comes to respect, he won't tolerate being disrespected from anyone and especially not you in littlespace, you know that but he gets that you're overwhelmed right now and can't help yourself.

"You better watch it, I'm trying to help you here."

You sniffle, a new round of tears forming in your eyes you lift your hands to rub at them. "M'sorry daddy..."

"Yeah, I know. C'mere." He pulls you into his arms, swiftly lifting you up with ease, his hands beneath your thighs as he walks over to the nearest couch. "Shh, just breathe for a moment."

He sits down with you perched on his lap, pulling you back to cup your face in his hands, his thumbs wiping the tears from your cheeks.

"It's not the end of the world and I'm pretty sure your lamb isn't far."

After you calm down from your small fit he helps you search your lamb and in the end it turns out you left it in his truck earlier when you both came back from the beach.

In the evening Rafe orders a lot of those apple airtags. He ain't gonna do this debacle every week anymore.

I don't know if Smooches knows or plays Wuthering Waves, but there is one character (Zani) who in her combat animation summons a chair to sit on. she does this in a cool manner and also to have a short break from a fight for a while

so imagine a fragile reader, fighting for their life, and when the swap with Dottore happens, the little birds and the fox slides them a comfy chair

reader just sits there and enjoys the show while their husband beats the hell out of some poor treasure hoarders

The fact that you're even allowed on the battlefield is one thing, much less allowed to even fight! But The Doctor can't help it if you're glued to his side. That's just who you are, and at least he can keep an eye on you efficiently. After all, such weaklings hardly require any attention. But funnily enough, you aren't even doing much of the fighting.

Dottore has created devices for multiple situations that probably won't even happen. You have a gun (very cutely decorated to your tastes, like Sigewinne's one) that shoots out puffling bombs even if you have terrible aim. It has a button to create a shield for any dire situations. He has put a fan and heater in it for whenever you're hot or cold. He has thought of everything. It is a compromise to let you fight while making sure you don't overexert yourself. It's like... a trick to let you think you're doing great (which you are!) without making you stress.

So of course, if he's made you simple weapons of destruction, he needs to make sure you're comfortable in the wild. You get tired easily after all. Fitting to Dottore's nature, the chair isn't just any standard chair, though. It's an odd device fitting in the palm of your hand, its purpose seeming confusing at first sight, but with a press of a button, it transforms into a mechanical chair. With another click, it's back to being portable. How it works, you don't know. You're just happy you don't need to stand up all the time anymore. (Dottore creating random inventions to make his beloved's life easier is my fav thing ever...)

Regardless, it's perfect for you and Foxttore to rest on while Dottore wipes out everyone else. Well, you won't really be resting that long, to be honest. After you blink once or twice, anyone who threatened your safety will have been taken care of. Dottore will wait for you to finish the chocolate you just unwrapped, though, and pat your head while looking for any injuries.

But…. I will start off with this…. there’s the potential there is a… killer on the island… and I understand that may sound silly… the island has thus far been quite the peaceful place aside from the occasional issues from the bear…

A killer..? Now that definitely is silly sounding to me- ya sure this wasn’t some kinda… I dunno- a prank?? Just done by some teens or whatever?

I know I’ve pulled my fair share of dumb pranks… do they still count as one if I end up injured…?

What? It’s a genuine question- plus I mean… it’s not that far out there, it is only like a week or two after the Halloween Party… and I’ve seen a bunch of spooky pranks going round that month

Not to mention… this seems to be tied to the last case from what I’m seeing here… but that’s just a hunch….

Gary’s team saw this first from my understanding… thus this file was sent to him… and uh… do be warned of the contents Agents… it’s not pretty in the slightest….

And worst part of what I witnessed… this doesn’t seem to be tied to those puffles we’d captured either… it seems… bigger…

Wait bigger..?!

Ugh… this all just reminds me of Operation Blackout… all those poor penguins that passed… especially Simon… w-while not as… violent of a death… it’s just… horrible…. No other penguins should’ve ended up killed since then-

We’re supposed to be keeping the island safe… and yet penguins have been going missing left and right! With no trace as to where they went! Or if they’re even alive-

And if this is tied to the case with that… mauled puffle- this is definitely something that needs to be detained immediately! Taken off the island if necessary or even just euthanized if it’s that bad- we can’t just have more instances like this!

While I do agree… I don’t believe we should immediately take out this…. whatever it seems to be…. that’s been causing penguins to disappear or the latter…

We need to be smart here…

If it’s able to kill penguins… it can kill others just as easily…

And if it is another penguin causing these issues…. they have other alternatives of punishment for such a thing that aren’t so severe… despite how severe the situation is alone…

We need to plan for all possible scenarios… even if that means it can cause grave consequences… understood…?

Dot and Paige… I’d like you to both scout around to either find Herbert for questions… or to perhaps find any suspicious penguins or creatures… I don’t believe Herbert would pull something like this off, but it’s safer to ask and figure stuff out from there than to accuse immediately…

Rory, dear…. I’m sure Gary won’t be joining anyone on the field this time for obvious reasons… but if you must have a partner you may need to pick another agent that’s not here at the table…

Oh that’s fine hun! I uh… I actually found a little fella recently that I was gonna try to train! A cute little puffle me and Paige had found about a week ago now, I called em Lucky since, well- they’re a cute little Golden puffle

Very well… you should know how puffle training is done by now, dear…. Do be careful with them and make sure they don’t get harmed… if you must have another puffle with you for help, do let me know, but just remember that may just make it a little bit more difficult to keep track of things…

As for your task… I’d like for you to perhaps set up a few traps around the igloo village please… make them as strong as you can but not able to harm anything or anyone that steps into it, understood? If it is a penguin we’d need to interrogate properly…. Catching them would be the first step

Just do make sure to let anyone passing by that this is for safety purposes and not to disclose anything further-

As for the rest of you… please stay safe… especially if you find anything crucial…. I’d hate to see anyone harmed from a mission, even if it’s an accident…

Grab yourselves an Elite if you feel it’s necessary to your respective missions, just note that they too must stay safe at all costs… they’re as much of an agent as the rest of you are… they’re family here and are also pets… treat them properly… PH will know if they’ve been harmed by any of you-

The Supportive, Rookie - Growing up, this penguin witnessed as the joy and fun of the island was slowly replaced with sadness and cruelty. Rookie has always had a desire to help those around him. But with no method of doing so without the PSA, he found himself becoming less helpful and more alone. Rookie always tried to look on the bright side, but as time went on, everyone became more hopeless and agitated when he would try to be positive. But that changed when one night, he stumbled upon a small puffle hiding within a thicket of O-berry bushes, if they could even be called that with how few O-Berries there were. It’s a mystery how Rookie managed to communicate and befriend such a frightful and timid puffle. After all, she has been through a lot.

Rookie was so happy to have a friend that he could look out for and spend time with. He fed, cleaned and protected her, giving her the name Clover because he felt lucky to have met her and she was lucky to have the ability to hide so well. And she is green.

Together, they would sneak around the island. Trying to scavenge and collect things to survive, or make their “igloo” feel more homely. Clover coming into Rookie's life was the best thing that could have happened to them. But he hopes that they can live somewhere better. Where Clover doesn’t have to hide and can have all the O-Berries she wants.

You're not sure what happened, one moment you were getting ready for a silly outing with Charlie and the gang and the next?

You curled around yourself. Your blood rushed in your ears as your heart beat at a thousand miles an hour. Your clammy palms dripped with sweat as you hyperventilated into your legs. Everything around you felt fuzzy, distorted, nothing felt real.

You didn't even hear the door click open

He sighs. Seeing you like this was, well, scary. He slowly rubbed your back, being sure to be slow and calm. Making sure you recognized he was there.

"Deep breaths Y/N." He continued to slowly rub your back.

Your body didn’t want deep breaths! It wanted to stop the heart rate in your chest. It wanted to stop the feeling of you about to die again. It wanted to-

You took a sharp inhale, the air around you felt like the antartic wind, scratching and nipping at the inside of your throat.

“Hold it…” Your chest lit up with flames as you tried to hold your breath.

“And exhale, Duckling.” You tried to breathe out slow and steady, chuckling through the tears at his pet name. Slowly, but surely, he repeated the process. He checked in on you, got you some water. Made sure you weren’t starting to hyperventilate again. Hell, he may or may not have summoned a cute little rubber duck for you to squeeze to help you breathe in time.

“You feeling any better?” He asked eventually, rubbing your arm gently. You nodded, still a bit dry from the cottonmouth. He smiled a bit.

“I went ahead and told the others that something came up so don’t worry about it.”

“Thanks, Lucifer.”Your voice let out a shaky smile.

“Anytime, Duckling.”

Ghoul Jobs in the Ministry!

So, I was thinking. The Ministry is huge, rivaling that of it’s opposite, the Catholic Church. They have multiple locations that are often huge. Humans do most of the jobs, yee, but what about the ghouls? I got some thoughts on that!

Security

The most common position for a ghoul to fill, security. It makes sense, they all have strong pray drives, are territorial, and if treated right, are extremely loyal! Guard ghouls can be tasked with multiple things, such as:

Guarding the property lines of the Abbey

Being assigned to high ranking members of the Ministry. Ex. Papa, Imperator, Clergy Members

Extra security during rituals. (Not all the security would be humans ;3)

Guarding forbidden sections of the Abbey. Ex. Veneration of Relics, Catacombs

Nursery

Just like a human nursery, the ghouls have a nursery for their young in the Abbey too. While yes, ghouls are discouraged from baby making, surprises always happen and there are kits to be taken care of. While Ghoul Handlers assist in the nursery, mainly ghouls care for the young. At least one ghoul from each element works in the nursery. Each elements tasks are:

Fire ghouls tend to all kits except for water ghoul kits. They only work with water ghoul pups if absolutely necessary, mainly for the pup’s health and safety. Fire ghouls often teach kits how to rough house safety, as well as how pack structures in the Ministry work.

Water ghouls handles earth fawns, water pups, and the occasional air pufflings. Water ghouls also teach older kits how to swim. They are the only ones who can handle water pups freely.

Earth ghouls work with all elements except for Quintessence. They often make sure ghoul kits are getting the right foods so they can grow properly, which can be difficult because they don’t have access to the normal food these kits would eat if in the Pit

Air ghouls work with air pufflings and quintessence voidlings. They often snuggle for nap time, encourage socialization, and flying lessons for older kits.

Quintessence ghouls can work with all elements, with some restrictions on water pups. They’re great when it comes to medical check ups, nap time, the occasional flying lesson, and supervision. No one is more observant than a broody quintessence ghoul.

Bonus! Multi-Ghouls! Multi-ghouls, depending on their element, can work with different combos of kits. Swiss is the latest member of the Nursery team and with him being a mix of quint/fire, he’s almost always on playtime duties. Kits love him btw!

Housekeeping

Housekeeping tasks are mostly split 50/50 between ghouls and humans. In the Ministry, everyone pulls their weight to help keep the place nice and clean, but they have found ghouls can get a lot more things cleaned compared to humans, simply because they have the abilities to get places humans can’t. The tasks ghouls help with are:

Cleaning the stain glass windows

Cleaning the rafters of the Grand Church building

Keeping pests down (no rats are hurt I promise xD)

Some ghouls are specially chosen for certain jobs, two examples being Sister’s Chamber Ghoulettes, who act as sort of her own little council, keeping her secrets and following her orders. Phil Ghoul is an honorary ghoulette in that group.

The second example being the position of Clergy Ghouls. These ghouls are summoned by members of the Clergy and them alone. These ghouls are the more dangerous ones from the elements. They’re favorites are the Shadow Ghouls from the quintessence element, Ancient Ghouls from any element, and the rumored Reaper Ghouls that show up to foretell death in the Ministry.

Thats what I got for my headcannons for now! I found that as much as I love my creature dives into looking at how the ghouls are, I love seeing how they fit into the Ministry other than them playing up on stage! Feel free to add to my list btw! Till next time!
