This isnt a comprehensive list but it has many of the general beats that I'm interested in (my taste is quite divergent from the Naruto shonen realm). I love yuri, works that prioritize interiority (particularly that of women), intimate relationship development (platonic, familial, and/or romantic) horror, the gothic...( something about transgression and the taboo being used as a means of interrogation gets me), cozy catholic boarding school settings (boarding school fiction is always gay and it's the perfect setting for dealing with themes of entrapment and repression), etc.

My MAIN interest is in novels, however. I'm too indecisive to give a concrete answer BUT for my comfort works....Toni Morrison is my absolute favorite author and I collect scholarly analysis of her works. I live for explorations of the subjectivity of Black women and she set the bar high. Passing by Nella Larsen is my comfort book and it rewired by brain when I was younger along with the Berserk manga. I also love The Color Purple, anything by Elena Ferrante, Sharp Objects, A Seperate Peace, Les Amites Particulieres, Olivia by Dorothy Strachey, Regiment of Women, Vilette, Wuthering Heights, The Pictire of Dorian Gray, Frankenstein, and Demian.

I'm also heavily interested in poetry... my list included below.

I also like reading critical analysis and close readings..... plus linguistics works in the semantic, pragmatic, and stylistic realm. But since they're non fiction I think that's outside the realm of what you're asking about so I'll refrain from recommendations.

Bonding day with Sunghoon

(this is written in like the present tense because Sunghoon and Soyeon don't really spent time together)

Friday evening, '' hey Soyeon, seeing as we not so close yet like the others are with you",Sunghoon nervously voiced as you smiled, "let's hang out tomorrow.... Only if you wa-""of course", Soyeon said as she cut off Sunghoon.

Sunghoon POV

'Jesus christ that was nerve recking' i said to myself. I didn't want it to sound like I was asking her on a date but I want to but I can't, right?. We're bandmates, if something bad happens, it could hurt everyone.

Soyeon POV

I am so excited. Oh no, i can't believe i ran away. Shit, I hope he doesn't think i hate him or something. I didnt ask where we should go, should I drive, should I dress casual or fancy, what time should wake up!. Soyeon pulls at her hair. Just then she gets a text.

SUNGHOONIE:Um, Soyeon, what should we do tomorrow?

SOYEON:Oh, um idk maybe we should just go with flow tomorrow ig LOL

"Ok, good, lets get coffee!!", they both giggled. But standing from behind the wall in the hallway, watching them interact infront of the front door, was Jungwon. Jealousy ran through his viens. Why are you laughing with him like that, where are you guys going?

You can't possibly have feelings for him, right?. But then again would like Jungwon?

Jungwon POV

Does Sunghoon and Soyeon have a thing going on? They can't! I forbids it. But even if you don't like Sunghoon, would you like me. Do you even like younger guys?Maybe i shouldn't have my hopes up, but i still won't allow you and Sunghoon to be together.

Sunghoon POV

"Let's go the beach, dip our feet in water, listen to the waves.""Hm,sure, sounds like a plan"You guys walk to the bus stop from the cafe'. You reach the beach.

She's so beautiful. Pink lips, pretty smile. I feel so bad to feel this way. She'll hate me if she knew i like her. But I can't help it. She's perfect.

Fast forward to 3 pm, Jungwon is sitting infront of the T.V,when you and Sunghoon come in.

Jungwon POV

Finally she's home.

"Noona you're home, please make something to eat, I love your cooking" Niki states while hugging Soyeon. "Yah, don't aks her to cook, she is probably tired, noona do you need anything?"

"No its ok I'll make something, do you want too? You know what, I'll make enough for everyone" she's too kind.

Later that night at 10 pm,i saw Soyeon take a shower and go to bed.I should ask how her day went.

She's on her phone, great, she's not sleeping.

"Um, noona can we chat a bit?" "oh Jungwon, sure come sit, what did you wanna talk about?"

"I just wanna ask about your day, did you have fun" he half smiles.

"oh it was great-" she's just talking about Sunghoon.Sunghoon said this,Sunghoon did that, blah, blah, blah

Finally she noticed I'm not really listening but she doesn't say anything. "um, can we... uh cuddle?" "Um" "i mean only if you want, its just been along time since I actually hugged someone you know" "ok" Soyeon said.

"Are you sure, im not forcing you or anthing" "im sure" Wow this is a memory I'll never forget. ✨

I gotta say, the more relatable the Pads try to seem, the more they piss people off.

I am a mother two. My husband constantly works to keep us afloat and I take side jobs when I can as long as it works with my kid's school schedules because we can't afford child care. I don't have multiple nannies to watch my kids or help with housework and you know what? I don't complain about how hard it is. It's the life I chose to have. I don't expect praise for doing what I am supposed to do. My husband works 5 days a week and when he isn't working, he's spending time with us. Sometimes he'll even take the kids off my hands for a few hours so I can get a break because that's what a good father and husband does. When he posts about them on social media, it's always talking about how grateful he is to spend the time with them that he does get to spend. And we all get on each other's nerves. The kids drive both of us crazy and we drive each other crazy, but we don't try and pretend like we're perfect. We're a typical family.

A family who can afford to have staff on hand at all times, a mother who never has to worry about bills and education, who never has to feel guilty for taking a few minutes to herself because she knows someone else is there to take care of whatever she's putting off, a mother who has time to do anything other than provide for her spouse and her children...a father who spends all his free time away from home, who complains about how hard it is to be around his kids, a man who praises his wife for all that she does without acknowledging that she has help, all while pretending that they are perfect...that's not a family, that's Hollywood.

Pictire perfect doesn't exist and anyone with a brain knows that. If they want to peddle their crap they need to stop trying so hard and be real for once because, lets be honest, you cant live off the money of adoring fans forever. People lose interest in thing over time and Walker isn't exactly thriving. Eventually the spn crowd is going to fizzle out (of course there will still be those few who stay forver) and a handful of people emptying their pockets to line theirs isn't enough to keep their lifestyle. People don't want to see perfect and they sure as hell don't want to listen to people with more money than anyone needs and help around every corner complain about how hard life is for them. And sure? Celebrities have struggles, but those struggles are not on the same level as the people they're trying to relate to. People definitely don't want to keep shelling out their hard earned money give to a celebrity so that celebrity can donate a portion of it to a charity when thay celebrity has more than enough to reach the goal that they set on their own.

I hope they wake up to reality soon. Otherwise they're gonna end up like the rest of us and as much as I would pay to see that wake up call, i don't wish that kind of abrupt life change on those children (being raised by parents who don't know how to function without gobs of money and never had to raise them alone could be seriously damaging)

I want to say that I commend you and admire you so much! I can’t imagine the strength and willpower it takes to do what you do, and if no one has told you today, you are so appreciated! <3 

Your family is the exact type that Jared and Gen are trying to portray. They wanna paint themselves as the hardworking parents that work so hard to support and take care of their three kids and how Gen is a hero for doing it all on her own while Jared is winning that bread. They’re definitely actors playing a role here and their “family” is as authentic as Jared’s sobriety. 

I think by trying to be relatable, they just make asses of themselves. Everyone knows they have a staff of help, but Gen acts like she has to fight to get time to herself. Jared acts like seeing his kids is the worst thing on the planet and he makes sure everyone knows it. Like I said, some parents joke around about the kids driving them insane, but it’s not every single post. On top of that, those parents who make those jokes once in a while are present all the time, they’re with the kids, they appreciate their kids, they don’t pop in for the weekly dad appearance and then complain about it the whole time. Jared might think he’s being cute and relatable, but he looks like an asshole. 

I don’t know if anyone else here ever watched Wife Swap, but I would LOVE to see the Pads swap lives with an actual family who has actual problems. They would implode. I think you’re right about the kids, they’re the ones who are going to suffer ultimately, more than they probably already are.  Their father is barely there (I wanna say Jared brought that up about his kids not really knowing him? Maybe it was someone else so don’t quote me on that.) and when he is there, he acts like he can’t get away fast enough. He just pops in for the staged “family goals” pictures and then shovels the kids back onto the nannies so he can go act like a 20-something college kid.  Their mother only pays attention to them when she needs them to pose for her charade of happy family on instagram. When she doesn’t need them, she’s shilling them onto the nannies so she can go have “me time” which she certainly doesn’t get enough of, being unemployed and letting ghost writers take care of her passion projects. When she should be a caring mother, she monetizes it. Nothing is genuine and you can tell that the kids are getting tired of being the performing monkeys for her clickbait social media posts. 

I’d hope that Jared has some money stored away and has invested it well so they’ll be prepared for when Supernatural fizzles out and when Walker (hopefully sooner than later) dies out. Gen won’t be able to jet around the country and buy clothes that are as much as car payments, and Jared won’t have the extra money to go blow on weekend getaways and traveling to anywhere that isn’t his compound. They might even have to downsize and what are they gonna do without their 3 gyms, tennis court, pool and guest house? 

I hope they get a wake-up call or snap out of it, but I don’t see that ever happening with these people.

-Your P.O.V.-

All of his clothes were gone. All the pictires of me and him all locked away. I knew it would happen again. We would have an argument, break up and then a few days later, he wants to start again. It was like an on going battle between me and him. Ashton tells me that he always goes to his house and sleeps on the couch or he goes to the studio and stays there all night. Maybe this was the last time me and him will be together. I just couldn't do it anymore. I hated fighting with him. Dating since school, then we broke up, then we got back together again. It just kept going on and on like that. He tells me it's over and that we're done, he wants to start again after a few days. Or sometimes even a few weeks. I felt my phone vibrate as I saw a text from him.

"Can we talk?" The text read. Rolling my eyes, I tossed my phone onto the bed. Why should we talk now? He told me we were done and now he wants to talk? Knocking on the door knocked me out of my thinking. Letting out a sigh, I walked down the stairs as I opened the door to reveal Luke. I was about to shut it when he placed his foot there.

"(YN), we need to talk"

"There is nothing to talk about, Luke. You told me we were done. Why can't you just admit that we are?"

"Because we aren't" He pleaded to me. I opened the door more as I crossed my arms over my chest.

"You've always told me it's over. Every time we broke up, you said it yourself that we were done. You say it, then you wanna start over?"

"I want to make it work this time"

"Yeah like all the other times you said it as well" I looked at him as he looked down. It could've been the fact that me and Luke have been dating for so long that maybe he doesn't want to give up on our relationship. But I can't keep going on like this. I montioned him to come into my home as he walked in. I shut the door as I walked into the living room where Luke was.

"Where's all the pictues of you and me?"

"I just put them somewhere"

"Why didn't you leave them up?" Is he seriously asking me that?

"We broke up, Luke"

"The other times we have you never tookk them down before"

"I thought this time we were officially done" I shook my head, sitting down on the sofa. Luke sat on the same sofa as me but he left some space between me and him.

"I'm sorry. I really am sorry. I don't mean to say that we're done when I know we aren't. It's a lame excuse to use, I know that. It's not because I don't love you anymore, I still do and I always will. We've been through a lot together since school and I just can't keep away from you" Luke told me as he looked at me. I could tell he was sad by the fact that we did keep breaking up and getting back together but most of the time it was Luke who would say sorry.

"What I don't understand is why you tell me that everytime you tell me it's over...you wanna start over again"

"I can't live without you (YN). I don't think I'll be ever able too. It's hard expressing it and even saying it. I've got it in my head what I want to say but I don't want to say it and it comes out wrong" Nodding my head, understanding what he was going on about.

"We can't keep going on like this. It's not healthy"

"It isn't no. I think Ashton is getting fed up with me saying how much I want you back" I smiled slightly. I can just imagine Ashton telling Luke to talk to me. Even when Luke's stayed with Calum or Michael, I think they've said the same thing.

"If we get back together, I don't want this to keep happening. I don't want you telling me it's over, then we start over again. We've got to work things out"

"And we will do" Grabbing hold of my hands, he looked at me. I looked at him.

"I want to make this work. I'll make sure I don't say it's over, as long as you say it isn't either"

"I will do but you've got to promise me it. If this ever happens again, that's it. We'll be done for good and just stay as friends"

"It won't. I promise"

"I promise that too" Looking into his blue eyes that I love so much, I saw him lean in, as I did too. As soon as our lips pressed together, I knew in that moment he meant what he said.

Luke kept his promise. We've had our ups and downs but he hasn't said that it's over and that he wants to start again.

We are perfect for each other. No matter how many arguments we have, we're there for each other.
