Day 5 - Singing

Originally planned to do three prompts, but I went with a different plan altogether once the idea for this prompt popped into my head. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to do more prompts for next year’s ShadAmy week!🤞 I figured why not run with it? So, that’s what I did and I’m loving how this turned out!

Did I include Amy and Shadow’s chaos laughing at one of their owner’s getting caught singing? Yes.

Do I regret that decision? Not one bit! XD

What details/characteristics do you absolutely love seeing in Shadamy fanfics?

For me its when:

1) Shadow and Amy tease each other as a way to show their feelings without confessing.

2) How they’re able to have deep conversations that can last for hours, which stems from both of them being comfortable and content around one another.

It’s Always Been You

With STH 3 releasing later this year, it’s only fitting to create a piece centered around SA2B. Especially one that includes the iconic Space Colony ARK cutscene (you know the one) and our two favorite hedgies.

Here’s my second piece for Sonic Garden @shadowxamyweek! Yes, I did two because why not?

Decided to step out of my comfort zone by drawing a Sonic character I don’t normally draw, as well as picking a flower many may not know a whole lot of information about. So, I figured who better to draw than Rouge with a hibiscus tucked behind her ear? A decision I’m glad I made because I absolutely enjoyed creating this and love the final product!

I’ll also quickly dive behind the scenes and say I wanted this to have a video game-esque feel. Hence the character window, dialogue box and selection arrow that are often seen and used in games. I even made Rouge’s hand, wings, ears and a bit of the hibiscus poke out and onto different areas to help give the artwork a sense of depth.

I’d also pick either SA2B’s or Sonic Prime’s VA to voice Rouge, if this was part of an actual STH game.

*Ayurveda is a system of traditional medicine native to India. The hibiscus flower is used in Ayurveda to help promote healthy hair growth.

I like to think and even headcanon that Shadow and Amy’s chaos doodle pictures of them when they’re together in Chao Kindergarten.

Here’s my short written piece for Sonic Garden @shadowxamyweek!

Shadow, Amy and mint.

Did you know Mentha is the scientific name for mint? Native to Australia, North America, Southern Africa and Eurasia. Mint has even naturalized in many places and is widely distributed throughout temperate areas of the world.

Mint also contains vitamin A and C, manganese, calcium, folate and iron. Hence why Amy brings her personal mint tea recipe, when knowing she’ll be away from home for a while. Plus her and Shadow often enjoy a cup of mint tea together while continuing to learn about mints many nutrients and health benefits.

Fun fact: One way to identify a mint plant is by their square stems and aromatic leaves - that are a dark green color, small and pointed with slightly notched margins.

Side note: This was originally going to be either Shadow or Amy with the mint plant. But that all changed when learning about what nutrients and health benefits mint has. So, I figured why not have both? That way it’ll make a more interesting concept instead of having one or the other.

A Rose and her Shadow

Headcanon: Having been together for years Shadow and Amy are able to figure out what's bothering each other through the use of verbal and nonverbal cues.

I’ve always wanted to see/found the concept of Amy becoming and working along side Shadow as a G.U.N. agent interesting, so I figured why not make it a headcanon as well as write a short one-shot that’s listed below.

Amber eyes glanced down at the female beside him; pink locks, that once appeared neat and orderly, were now a disheveled mess rested firmly on his shoulder. It also indicated both exhaustion and lack of sleep had finally caught up with the sakura colored hedgie. He couldn't blame her; their recent mission of finding Dr. Eggman and infiltrating his newly discovered top secret base proved more difficult than originally anticipated. Setback aside Shadow pulled Amy toward him and wrapped a warm protective arm around her. She was his top priority now and forever and nothing would ever change that. Unbeknownst to the ebony agent however, a pair of emerald eyes witnessed this sweet gesture and quickly got acclimated to her newfound comfort.

“Find anything new?”

“No, unfortunately.” He said, “But I guess that’s our sign to call it a night.”

Amy overlooked the nearby city, “We don’t have to go back, y’know.” She uttered dropping a subtle hint to her boyfriend.

“Whoever said we were?” Inquired Shadow, who, like his bubblegum pink flower; had no intent of leaving their perch anytime soon.

The pink hedgehog placed an index finger on her chin, “G.U.N. for one, then there’s our friends, family- oh! And we can’t forget about Midnight and Angel.”

A smirk etched itself onto his muzzle, “Those are valid reasons, Rose, but you and I both know it’s been a while since we’ve had any real downtime.”

“Especially with how busy life has been lately.”

That’s true. That’s very true. The two G.U.N. agents had been exceptionally busy these last few weeks, and though neither wanted to stop their search nor mission midway; as well as lose sight of their targets coordinates, both agreed it’d be best to rest and let their strength and powers get back to normal before needing to use them again.

“Well then.” The pinkette expressed, a glint in her eyes, “What do you suggest we do during our night off, Mr. Ultimate Life Form?”

His smirk grew into a devilish smile.

Amy was teasing him and she knew it too. Shadow loved seeing this side of her, but rarely saw it, when they were busy with a mission. Tonight however luck appeared in the crimson streaked hedgehog’s favor, and he wasn’t going to let it slip through his grasp.

“How bout a race just between us?”

“A race, hu?” The rose colored agent thought aloud indicating she was interested in his offer, “You mean the ones we did before becoming agents.”

“And involved us using our powers, so that the other couldn’t win.”He added, a knowing tone lining his voice.

Interest peaked, Amy tilted her head a bit, “Like my Storming Heart, Amy Flash and your Chaos Control and Chaos Spear.”

“Well? What do you say, Rose?” Shadow pondered, waiting for the pinkettes answer.

“Hmn, what else can I say other than,” she chirped with a grin, “enjoy losing to your girlfriend.” before kissing him on his tan muzzle and dashing off; with the black and crimson streaked hedgehog following close behind.

Some concept art/sketches that I’ll post a digital and more detailed version of later, but without further ado, I’d like to introduce my fankids! Scarlett and Dusk Hedgehog (Shadamy), Max the Bat and Crystal Echidnabat (Knuxouge), Sierra Hedgecat (Silvaze) and Flash the Hedgehog (Sonic/Alicia).

Fun fact: I took artistic liberty and styled the ends of Flash’s quills after Sonic’s Werehog quill design from Sonic Unleashed.

What’s one thing you want to see in the upcoming STH movie? The SA2B Shadamy Space Colony Ark cutscene with additional Shadow/Amy moments.

Shadow helping Amy learn how to use her Amy Flash and Storming Heart after discovering she possesses powers similar to his own.
