Also shipping aside Speedy means so much to me as a rival for Tails because I could really see them both growing as characters thanks to each other. Like yeah Speedy's not nice to Tails initially but I could see Tails growing from the experience and learning how to stand up for himself, be more independent, etc. Meanwhile I think by meeting Tails Speedy's whole world view starts to shift, especially if he's very much been coddled by his father and doesn't know much about mobius outside of the battle bird armada. And as the next heir to inherit the battle bird armada (I assume anyway) it'd help him to grow as a person to be humbled by someone like Tails. Anyway I miss their Archie interactions so much and I want the Battle Bird Armada to rejoin the comics so bad! Or a Tails Adventure remake or sequel!

But anyway the comics were cooking with Speedy and I miss him so much!

Yes, I am making all four of them cousins you cannot STOP ME

Anyway Predator Hawk, Bean the Dynamite, Jet the Hawk, and Speedy are all cousins in the 9 Years universe, and there is lore involving like. Why their grandfather is like that I'm not gonna get into most of it here.

All you need to know is that in an attempt to "correct" their bad behavior, their grandfather decided to homeschool Jet and send Predator Hawk (also known as Cirrus), Bean (also known as Zephyr), and Speedy (also known as Slipstream) all to (separate) private schools.

SPOILER ALERT: it did NOT work at ALL and if anything made all of them dive into "worse" habits (for Cirrus, Zephyr, and Slipstream get into mercenary work when they got out of highschool and for Jet continue his father's Rogues).

Oh, and unrelated to their behavior, all four of them would later realize that they are queer, with Cirrus realizing he's bi, Zephyr realizing he's a demiboy (also gay but I didn't note that in the picture), Jet would realize he's gay, and Slipstream would realize that he's genderqueer.

So yeah, all around "stick it to the man" behavior from all four of them.

Do you think that if Speedy survived being blown to freaking pieces in Tails Adventure, Tails would actually be gunning for him if he saw him again. Tails just can’t leave a job unfinished.

i actually don’t think he would. i think he’d take the sonic approach and give him another chance. it’s not like speedy can really do anything world threatening without the rest of the empire so like- he’s kinda just some guy at that point

i do think he’d give him a warning shot tho

Tails Adventures sprite editing test. this is ingame btw- but i dont have more sprites imported for these two and speedy took a while so i’m likely not returning to this. really this was a test to see if doing this was even possible

Nine stared at the trio currently bickering over the emerald ‘this is Team Hooligan?’ two foxes, Maia and a red one along with a green bird.

They didn’t seem particularly impressive but Sonic was grimacing at the sight of them “great all three of them... I could talk down Tails and Fiona but not Speedy.”

Oh brother...was this Sonic seriously not wanting to fight? They should just grab the emerald and leave them already! Nine honestly didn’t care much for the emerald it was the warp topaz that had his interest.

Maia scowls “Speedy, Fiona we aren’t selling it, we’re trying to keep it out of Eggman’s hands remember?”

“Yeah well I don’t want Eggman or Sonic after us” Speedy sneered back “c’mon Maia you sell them all the time when they show up and we grab ‘em what’s different this time?”

“Oh I don’t know maybe because Eggman is feeding them to some god he summoned!” Maia was gesturing with her words “that’s why!”

Okay he’d had enough “and that’s why you should give them to us” Nine fixed his older counterpart with a calm look appearing nonchalant even if the idea of summoning a god was a bit concerning, well he can always leave before it gets dangerous.

“....” Maia is staring at him, all three are just staring at him, how his metal tails have moved exposing two furred ones.

...why are they just staring like this it’s honestly freaking him out a little.

The chaos emerald is dropped on the grass forgotten about by Maia “no way....no way... I have a little brother?”

Her tails were a one in a million mutation for there to be another could to her mind with the limited knowledge she had only mean one thing to her.

Nine grimaced, he’d not encountered this before the other Sonics and Tails had figured out he was a different reality version pretty quickly, the hope in her eyes...it was so familiar it hurt.

And why...why did part of him want to lie and say yes?
