psychic lovers
PAIRING: kwon soonyoung x reader GENRE: friends to lovers!!! WC: 544 WARNINGS: curse word
"10 o'clock, isn't that your Soonyoung?" your friend asks. Your head whirled in the said direction, watching as a group of guys entered the room. Soonyoung eyes caught a glimpse of you in the crowd, and a thin smile appeared on his face.
He's not yours, well not yet.
The class ended before your head could hit the table and fall asleep. You carelessly packed your stuff and quickly made a beeline to the exit, ignoring the call from your friend. You had one mission now. An important one.
"Soonyoung!" you called. Your eyes widen at the volume of your own voice, then try to mask it with a smile. The other guys turned their heads, grinning wide while pushing Soonyoung towards you. He lowers his head, trying to hide his smile.
It's so funny how everyone addresses both of you as a couple, yet you're not. Not officially. But you want to change it.
Soonyoung greeted you with a smile, a steady voice asking, "What's up?"
"I was wondering if you were free tonight?" you ask, shifting your weight between your tiptoe and heel. He looks at you, waiting for you to continue on before giving his answer. Tomorrow's Saturday anyway, he's already going to say yes to whatever you're offering. "Let's go to the cinema," you finally said.
"Okay," he agrees immediately. He took out his phone and pressed on some stuff before asking you, "Does 7 sound good to you?" Your grins grew bigger as you nodded your head enthusiastically.
"I'll meet you there, just text me if you're on your way," you said.
"Why don't we go there together?" he asks back, a smirk apparent in his face.
"Thought you'd never ask," you snickered back. "Come pick me up then."
"Okay then, I'll see you at 7."
And it's 5 minutes to 7 when you hear a knock on your door. Grabbing your sling bag, you open it with a smile.
"I didn't have the time to get a full bouquet," Soonyoung said, handing you a stalk of red roses. Your heart does a little jump when you receive it. This mission is going in all the right direction, and he even throws in his little surprises. You murmur a quick thank you before putting it inside.
It's a short walk to the mall where the cinema is located. It is, however, not a short walk to get to this point with Soonyoung.
"I like you," Soonyoung blurted out. He was looking at the sky ahead, hands in the pocket of his jeans.
"I know," you confessed. "Kinda see it coming from like, the first time around."
Only then did he turn to look at you with the biggest grin. "What are you? A psychic?" You laugh. Maybe you are, but maybe you're confidently moving forward because you fell for him first. Thinking that maybe if you believed he liked you too, he would actually share that feeling someday.
"Kinda," you winked. "I like you too."
"Yeah, no shit" he laughs. Both of you have walked this road many times before, sometimes way too carefully. Now you memorize all the cracks and wild bushes on the side of the road. It was familiar, it was natural, it was worth it.
a/n. i saw a cute couple some days ago and thought they were so cute... even I was taken aback at how i approach these things... because if i were 18, i'd probably texted my friend and said that it's cringe but now i just see it from a different perspective i guess?đ«

The First.Â
What is one thing that everyone wishes was free all the time? Of course, itâs food, and you were definitely someone who loved free food. So, when you saw the new ramen and boba place in the local mall was open, you were convinced. Your goal for today: get Soonyoung to pay for your lunch..
âSoonie, you love me, donât you?â you questioned your best friend, tugging a bit on his sleeve.Â
âI cannot believe you even had to ask that! Of course I do!â He wrapped his arms around your shoulders in a quick, but meaningful hug.Â
âOkay so, if you love me like you say you doâŠâ your voice droned on. âYou should totally take me to the new boba shop. Please!â you held out the end of the word, begging the man.
Soonyoung looked away from you and moved his gaze to the ceiling of the store before he sighed.Â
Exhaling loudly, he grabbed your hand and walked with you towards the restaurant. You quickly cheered with the hand that wasnât in Soonyoung's.Â
After arriving and ordering, you picked an empty booth to sit in as you both waited for your order number to be called.
"Thanks for paying, Soonie."Â
Soonyoung smiled, his teeth showing. "You're welcome, I-" He was interrupted by the sound of their order number being called.Â
Soonyoung stood up. "I'll grab them."Â
âAre you sure? It might be a lot for you to carry by yourself,â you tried to stand up to help. âLet me help you.âÂ
Soonyoung put his hand on your right shoulder and lightly pushed you to sit down again. âItâs fine, I got it.âÂ
Coming back to the table from the second (and last) trip to get their food, Soonyoung sat back down across from you, making quick work of taking his wooden chopsticks apart.Â
Immediately picking up your boba, you began swinging your legs a bit before speaking with a bright smile.Â
"Soonieee!"Â
Lifting his head up from his rice to look at you, Soonyoung smiled brightly. "Yeah?"Â
"I love you," you took another sip of your tea. "And boba. I think I love boba more though."Â
Soonyoung laughed. "I'm starting to think that you like the boba more than my friendship."
The Second.Â
âHey Y/N, do you want to do something today?âÂ
Looking up from your novel, you focused your gaze on Soonyoung. âIt depends. Where do you want to go?âÂ
âThey opened a new arcade down the street from that bookstore you really like. I wanted to check it out sometime, so I was just thinking that you could join me.âÂ
You smiled. âOf course Iâll go with you Soon! Give me like ten minutes to get ready?â You gestured to the pajamas that you were currently lounging in.Â
âOf course! Iâm so excited!â Soonyoung sprinted off back to his room, most likely preparing the most ridiculous outfit imaginable.Â
You shook your head and got up from the couch after placing the receipt-bookmark on the page before closing the novel.Â
After getting dressed and grabbing a quick snack from the kitchen, you sat and waited patiently for Soonyoung, who sprinted down the stairs and stumbled about half way through, tripping a bit and catching himself on the wall.Â
Of course, as one does when their best friend almost faceplants, you laugh. âGood going. You should do that again so I can record it.âÂ
Soonyoung, peeling himself from the wall, gave you an exasperated look. âHa ha ha,â he walked into the kitchen. âVery funny.âÂ
You looked up at him. âYouâre right. It was.âÂ
Soonyoung smacked your shoulder lightly before grabbing his keys off the counter. âYou ready to go?âÂ
âYeah, Iâm good. Letâs go.âÂ
About twenty minutes later, you learned that you should never agree to going to an arcade with Soonyoung. You watched from the sidelines, sweating, as he absolutely demolished the DDR machine he found in the corner of the small inner-city arcade.Â
Winning another round (and yet again breaking the highest score), Soonyoung got off the arrow-covered platform and walked to where you were sitting.Â
âAre you sure you donât want to challenge me again? I can go easy on you!â Soonyoung smiled, his gums showing.Â
Laughing loudly, you argued with the man. âIf you think Iâm getting back on that,â you looked at the platform in disgust. âThing, youâre absolutely insane. I love you so damn much Soonyoung, but you canât pay me to get back on that.âÂ
Soonyoung scoffed. âItâs not that hard!â âIâm sure you donât think it is!â
The Third.Â
The first thing you noticed after the countless minutes of sitting in this brightly lit room was that it was hot. You were leaning against the wall, phone on a tripod focused on Soonyoungâs movements in the wall-length mirror.Â
âSoonyoung!â you whined. Across the large room, Soonyoung looked up from the ground, his thoughts interrupted.Â
âYeah?âÂ
âIs there no air conditioning here? Like come on, itâs a dance practice room! Do they expect their dancers to die from heat every day?âÂ
Soonyoung smiled, âTheyâre working on fixing it right now. Something broke somewhere in the building so now the whole floor is not getting AC.âÂ
âThatâs awful. Terrible. A crime to humanity!â
âYeah, tell me about it. I'm here every day. Though, they said it should be done within the next couple of days, so donât worry about it.âÂ
Soonyoung begins the music again, and he begins dancing his routine, movements sharp and well crafted. But, as Soonyoung dances, the temperature of the room increases, and there is only so much a couple of revolving fans can do.Â
When Soonyoung is done dancing, he turns to face you. âHow was that?âÂ
You nodded and clapped. âIt was amazing! Though, Iâm dying. Youâre lucky I love you, otherwise I would have left an hour ago.âÂ
Soonyoung smiled. âBut you like the dance? Iâve been working on it for a while and I really just want to be done with it.âÂ
âYeah! Itâs amazing. You know that every dance you do is going to be perfect by the end of it! Youâre incredibly talented!âÂ
âThanks, Y/N. Letâs go back before you melt into a puddle that I have to mop up off the floor.âÂ
âWe both know if that happened, youâd be making Chan mop the floor. Thereâs no way youâd do it yourself.â
The Fourth.Â
The movie that was playing at full volume on Soonyoungâs TV was not your first choice, and you made that extremely clear to Soonyoung as you both sat next to each other on the couch for your weekly movie night.Â
âI just donât understand why youâd want to watch a horror movie when you know that youâre going to be more scared than the characters on the damn TV!â you argued to your best friend.Â
âOh, come on you scaredy cat! Itâs not going to be too bad! Jihoon said this one wasnât that bad!âÂ
Wrapping yourself in the blanket Soonyoung kept on the couch, you refuted the statement. âThere is a 99 percent chance that Jihoon was saying that just to fuck with you in hopes you get so scared you call him crying so he can laugh at you.âÂ
Soonyoung thought about your statement for a second before wrapping his arm around you. âOkay, while you do have a point there,â he began, âI donât think Jihoon hates me that much!âÂ
âWhile he might not hate you that much, he doesnât love you like I do---of course heâd pull a useless prank on you like that.â Once the words came out of your mouth, you could feel your heart start beating faster at the words you just said. It feelsâŠdifferent, somehow.Â
âOf course! He canât love me nearly as much as you do!â Soonyoung yays, hugging you and rubbing his hair into your cheek.
Grimacing, you complain, âOkay, okay, please get your greasy hair off of my face.â Placing one of your hands on Soonyoungâs hairline, you push him away.Â
Soonyoung lets go of the hug and leans to the other direction, pouting. âY/N doesnât love me anymore!â
The One.Â
âSoonyoung! Did you seriously?â you mutter to yourself. After a long day in classes and stressing about the endless amount of assignments you have to do, the last thing you wanted was to come home to the shared apartment and see piles of dirty dishes by the sink. Of course, it wasnât only the dishes that upset you: the living room was a mess of snack wrappers and empty water bottles and the TV was still on, the sleep screen lighting up the living room. The couch and coffee table were both pushed out of the way to create Soonyoungâs mini dance studio in the living room.Â
âKwon Soonyoung! Where are you?â you yelled up the stairs.Â
Soonyoung peeked his head out of his bedroom door to see you halfway up the stairs. âHey. Whatâs up?â
âDid you forget to do something?â Soonyoung tilted his head, thinking.Â
âI donât think I forgot to do anything? Why?â
âThe sink is filled with dishes! Didnât you say you were going to stop doing that? And the living room is a mess! None of the furniture is put back and there are wrappers everywhere! You promised that you wouldnât leave stuff around all the time!â you angrily tell your best friend off.Â
âIâm sorry! I forgot about it, Iâll go clean everything right now!â Soonyoung came out of his room and headed towards the stairs.Â
âNo, it's fine. I got it, just-â you sighed heavily. âActually remember to do your chores next time, and put the living room back together.â With that, you walked back down the stairs to the kitchen, but Soonyoung was hot on your tail.Â
âItâs not fine! The dishes were my chore and itâs my mess in the living room, just- move and Iâll do it.â Soonyoung began cleaning the dishes out of the sink in order to fill it with water.Â
You tilted your head down to the floor, eyes watering. The angry reaction you had was finally hitting you, making you feel terrible about yelling at your best friend.Â
âIâm sorry for yelling at you, Soon.â You wiped a tear off your face. âI really d-didnât mean to. I've just had an awful day and I didnât think about what I was doing or saying.âÂ
Soonyoung turned to face you, hands covered in suds. âY/N, itâs fine. Please donât cry,â he wiped his hands on the closest towel to him before wrapping his hands around your upper arms and making eye contact.Â
âI promise everything is fine -- you were right to yell at me, because I did promise you I would stop doing these things. I love you, Y/N, more than anything, and that doesnât stop just because you told me off for something.âÂ
Your eyes widened as Soonyoung kept talking. This action led Soonyoung to make a similar face, finally realizing what he said.Â
âYouâŠlove me? That much?â you questioned in a meek voice, still wide-eyed.Â
Soonyoungâs cheeks turned red and he looked away before whispering a small, âYeah, I do.âÂ
When he finally looked back at you, he smiled. âYeah,â he spoke louder. âI didnât mean to say it in this context,â He looked around quickly. âBut I guess now is better than never.âÂ
The dried tears on your cheeks begin to stiffen, but it doesnât stop you from smiling as widely as physically possible. âI love you too, Soonie.âÂ
You wrapped your arms around your best friend newfound lover, tightly squeezing. Of course, Soonyoung hugged you back.Â
You both quickly pulled apart when two voices scared you.Â
âSoonyoung? Are you guys done making out in the middle of the kitchen?âÂ
âHi, Y/N!âÂ
Turning around, you saw Soonyoungâs friends, Seungkwan and Seokmin.Â
âHi guys,â you began. âI guess that explains the living room being a mess?â you ask Soonyoung.Â
He nods, laughing a bit. âYeah.â
You smile. Of course.Â

You both knew it was coming. It was kind of weird that you could sense it. There was a shift in Soonyoung, both in how he was acting and other things that you could just sense -- things your instincts picked up on that werenât necessarily things you could physically see. They were signs you were already familiar with because of the boys in your pack, but these ones were impacting you, now. It was different. It was scary.
It was...intriguing.
Your mateâs rut was coming up very soon. Obviously that was a conversation that hadnât come up between the two of you, but now that you could sense the change, you knew Soonyoung would want to talk about it.
God, you moving in was really bad timing.
âYâknow, I was never quite sure if I believed in God or Gods or any higher power,â Soonyoung began as he sat in the kitchen, sitting at one of the chairs at the table with his head back as he stared at the ceiling, âbut now Iâm positive thereâs one out there because they fucking hate me.â
âCould just chalk everything up to fate like Lilly used to,â Jun shrugged.
âMaybe it is,â Seungcheol offered. âMaybe this is how you and _____ will really start bonding.â
Soonyoungâs eyes widened, his head lifting up like he was being raised from the dead as he stared at the eldest, âThat is not how I want to bond.â
âYour track record implies otherwise,â Danbi snorted, making the others in the kitchen laugh along.
âWell, not now!â
âSo whatâre you going to do, then?â Yeji wondered. âShe moved in hardly a week ago. Youâre gonna kick her back out?â
âWhat else am I supposed to do?â he sighed, running his hands through his hair. âI canât be around her like this. Itâs way too soon for us to be doing...any of that, and I donât want the first time to be because of fucking rut.â
Jihoon scoffed, âSince when are you a gentleman?â
âSpeak for yourself.â
âAw, Soonie was a hopeless romantic the whole time,â Danbi cooed. âHe just...had unconventional ways of trying to find his mate.â
âHowâre you going to boot her?â Yeji asked bluntly, changing the subject back.
âConsidering I probably canât word it very well, I was hoping...maybe...Kyu--â
âNo.â
The newer alpha walked into the kitchen before Soonyoung could even get her name fully out of his mouth. His golden eyes widened as his eyes followed her like a helpless puppy. He scrambled to his feet and immediately stood behind her as she opened the fridge door, her curly hair tickling his nose from how close he got to her.
âPlease?â he begged. âI canât nicely ask her to leave. I canât even explain to her whatâs happening! Iâd need your help anyway so why not just do it for me?â
âBecause sheâs not my mate, Soon,â she chuckled, turning around and putting a hand to his chest to gently push him backwards a couple steps. âIâm not talking to her about anybodyâs mating season. Thatâs between you, her, and Mother Nature.â
âAnd how am I supposed to explain it to her when I donât even know the words to do it?â he huffed, crossing his arms over his chest and furrowing his brow. âFace it, you need to help me.â
âI donât need to do anything,â she stated, mimicking his expression and body language. âYou donât have any alpha charge over me.â
The two stood there in a silent battle to see who would break, but neither seemed to do so. Eyes narrowed and tension so thick it was almost palatable, the two alphas stared each other down unwaveringly.
âIâll do it.â
All eyes in the kitchen went to the doorway to see a tired Josh standing beside an ever-chipper-looking Arinya, her hand in his. He looked like a disheveled and grumpy father bringing his daughter downstairs too early on Christmas morning, and a few of the wolves couldnât help but scoff and snort.
Kyung and Soonyoung both figured that if anyone were to concede and offer help, it wouldâve been Hansol. They were honestly both surprised to see the eldest of the English speakers being the one to step up -- especially considering he never wanted to help anyone.
âYouâll do it?â Junhui laughed. âDid we all just forget about the last time you âhelpedâ Soonyoung and _____?â
Joshua merely rolled his eyes as Ari let go of his hand to scurry into the kitchen in search of breakfast. He entered at a much slower pace, relaxing down into a wooden chair at the end of the table.
âI learned my lesson, alright?â he insisted, though he seemed pretty bored. âPlus, _____ unfortunately would be able to understand at least part of what he says, so lying would be kind of hard.â
âWow, how kind of you,â Danbi deadpanned.
âWhyâre you volunteering?â Seungcheol asked him curiously, studying him carefully for any signs of ulterior motives. âYou never wanted to help with their English lessons.â
âBecause,â he let out a deep sigh, âI really donât feel like hearing Soonyoung fuck her brains out.â
The kitchen filled with murmurs of agreement as Soonyoungâs face turned bright red and he frowned deeply at the older wolf.
Joshua took notice of his expression and smiled a stupid, shit-eating grin, âDo you want someoneâs help or not?â
âFine, whatever,â was all he grumbled in reply.
-
Maybe Hansol wouldâve been first to step in and offer his help, but he was out with you, anyway. Him, Minghao, and Jia went to the market with you because the pack needed a few things, and you knew of a vendor from New Zealand who always gave you really good discounts.
After only a few minutes of talking with Jia, though, he offered to give you some things for free.
âI really donât think he was hitting on her,â Hansol insisted so Minghaoâs jealousy wouldnât get too out of hand.
But he was jealous. He didnât understand why that vendor would just give them stuff unless he had some sort of interest in his mate.Â
â_____, what do you think?â Hansol asked you, turning to his right to look at you.
You had vaguely gotten the gist of the conversation, so you shrugged, âHe didnât look at her any kind of weird way. I donât know, Minghao, I think Jiaâs just really likeable.â
When Hansol translated, Jia giggled softly in response, âThank you.â
âI think anybody would give her the shirt off their back if she asked,â you continued.
âExactly!â Hansol chuckled.
The rest of the walk through the forest was mostly filled with Hansol trying to explain to Minghao the odd affect his mate had on everyone around her, which was why the vendor probably did what he did. But it seemed like Minghao wasnât letting up on his opinion that the guy had an interest in Jia.
As you approached the house, you could see Hanbin, Jaesang, and Baekhan standing in the yard, talking to Seungcheol, Jooyeon, Danbi, Joshua, and Soonyoung. As soon as you could be seen in the trees, Soonyoungâs eyes locked on you and his body went slightly rigid despite the wide smile on his face seeing you come back from the market.
It wasnât surprising to you that a few members of your old pack -- that felt so weird to say -- had shown up. They promised to help bring a few remaining things from your room to your new house.
Except they still had things in their arms, and it was things you had already brought to the house. So why did they have them with them outside?
You could tell they were talking about moving -- youâd heard enough about that all week to know. Something about moving and only staying for a week. Something about it being quick and easy, and something about wondering if youâd agree to it.
You? Why would you be moving away?
Were they kicking you out?
Your blood suddenly started to feel cold. You wondered if they maybe couldnât make it work like Kyung and Soonyoung insisted they could. Maybe there were too many people in the house. Or maybe you were too much of a handful. You tried to be helpful, but you obviously werenât the easiest person to communicate with, and you still tended to get shy and a little nervous pretty often.
As your small group approached, the eyes of your pack were drawn to you, causing your old pack to turn around to see who was coming. All of them -- except Jooyeon and Danbi -- were either smiling or laughing quietly at something.
âUm...did you guys forget somebody?â Jooyeon asked.
Minghao and Hansol both gave them confused looks before turning to make sure everyone was accounted for. Jia, who was the most likely to get lost, was still between them, her head angled upwards like she was looking up at Minghao to understand what Jooyeon was talking about.
Then they looked to the end, and Hansolâs eyes widened, leaning away from where he was sure you were standing, but he couldnât physically see you there.
You were invisible, your nerves getting the best of you and it just...happened. It was a typical occurrence, and it became so common for it to happen that you didnât even really realize when it did anymore.
âWhy are you hiding?â Soonyoung giggled, walking right up to you and taking both of your hands in his like he could see you.
He just always knew where you were. It was both endearing in a cheesy soulmate-y kind of way, and also somewhat frightening and a bit annoying.
You came back into view, your wide, worried eyes looking at Hanbin as you asked quietly, âAm I moving?â
Hanbin immediately looked at Soonyoung, seeming somehow more frightened than you.Â
Soonyoung looked at him, then back at you. Then he turned to look at Joshua over his shoulder, âHey, uh...help?â
Seungcheolâs arm was around Jooyeon, and he lightly tapped against he shoulder, âWe should go inside.â
âWhat? Why?â she whined as he began to slowly drag her away. âI wanna see what happens!â
âItâs none of our business, baby,â he told her.
âBut youâll know! Youâll hear everything!â
âWeâll be, um...in the backyard,â Hanbin decided, looking between you and Soonyoung. âCome find us when youâre done.â
As they walked away, and the rest of the pack went inside the house, Joshua stepped forward to stand beside your mate. He told you what your old alpha told you, and your eyebrows furrowed.
âWhatâs going on...?â you wondered in a small voice, looking between the two men like they were towering menacingly over you, when they were actually standing casually beside each other.
âYouâre fading again,â Joshua stated.
You fixed yourself and rolled your shoulders back, trying to relax yourself and take a deep breath. But the longer they werenât telling you, the more anxious you were getting.
â_____,â Soonyoung said your first name for the first time as he stepped closer and gave your hands a gentle squeeze, and it made your heart sink into your stomach. That had to be a bad sign. Soonyoung never called you by your first name, or even the nickname your old pack had given you. But he seemed to be able to tell how scared you were from how your eyes widened and your breathing hitched slightly, and he quickly said, âBaby, itâs nothing bad, I promise.â
Still, that didnât help.
âCan you just say what you need to say?â Joshua pressed. âYouâre stressing her out more doing it slowly.â
Soonyoung closed his eyes and took a deep breath, letting it out slowly.
âCan you relax, drama queen? Youâre hardly even the one telling her,â the older man told him, rolling his eyes.
Your mateâs eyes opened again, staring straight into yours.
âI need you to leave for about a week--â
Your eyes widened again.
âOnly a week!â he told you quickly. âYou will come back to me, I promise. I just...â
He looked to Joshua for guidance.
Josh was looking at you while he listened to Soonyoung, but when the alpha stopped, he slowly turned his head to look at him. Then he gave him a âwhat?â sort of gesture with a mean look to go with it.
âYouâre the alpha,â he reminded Soonyoung.
âYouâve been alive longer than me,â Soonyoung retorted. âAnd you said youâd help me, so help. What do I even say?â
âJust tell her.â
Soonyoung looked back at you, looking almost as scared as you probably did.
âMy rut is starting really soon, so I want you to go back with Hanbin for a little while.â
All you caught was âgo with Hanbinâ, so you just blinked as your look of worry started to border on confusion.Â
The alpha looked to Joshua again, âSee, you shouldâve just told her.â
The healer let out a deep and annoyed sigh, rolling his eyes before he looked back at you. Thankfully, any hostility he held toward his alpha didnât show when he looked at you. He looked much softer, which helped your nerves.
âSoonyoungâs asking you to leave while his rut is happening,â he told you earnestly. âYouâre obviously more than welcome to come back after itâs over, but he wants you away from him while itâs happening.â
Your body warmed, like you felt the blood rushing back into every limb. You felt like you could breath again, and your expression definitely relaxed. But still, you were confused. Soonyoung didnât want you around? Wasnât the opposite supposed to happen?
âI want to ask why...but-- ...No offense, but I donât really want you explaining any of this to me...â you admitted shyly, feeling your cheeks heat up.
Josh just let out a laugh and told you, âI donât really want to explain it to you, either. I just have to be here so you both understand each other.â
âOkay, then,â you breathed, figuring you really had no choice but to let Josh be included in your business. You wouldâve rather had Kyung or Rika, but Rika was a handful of miles away, and you didnât want to force Kyung to come play translator for you. So you looked to Soonyoung and carried on with the conversation. âWhy donât you want me around?â
âI will,â he told you with a chuckle. âThatâs the problem. My-- Um... My rut this time around will be a lot stronger now that I found you. So not only do I not want to hurt you or be too much for you, but...I really donât want our...first time together...to be during mating season. I know my rut also affects you, and I donât want you to feel...obligated. I donât want it to be forced because of instinct. I want it to be...special.â
You could tell even Soonyoung was getting uncomfortable speaking with Josh around, but his brother kept his expression neutral the whole time as he listened, and even when he did his best to translate. It was like none of it phased him even though the two of you were literally talking about sex.
After Josh was done, you frowned, sounding more offended than anything as you said, âYou canât hurt me.â
âYou know what I mean,â Soonyoung laughed, shaking his head. âIâm assuming youâve never experienced someone elseâs rut. We can get...intense.â
âAnd I can attest to that,â Joshua admitted after he translated.
You scrunched your nose as you thought, letting out a deep breath through your nose. When you relaxed your face after considering everything for only a moment, you looked back at Soonyoung and shrugged.
âI think Iâll be fine,â you stated quietly.
Joshua scoffed before he let out a loud laugh, and Soonyoung gave you an incredulous look.
âAre you telling me you want to stay?â he asked.
You nodded, âYeah.â
âWhy?â
You shrugged again despite your face feeling the hottest it ever has, and your voice came out shyly, âI donât know. We already know weâre made for each other and stuff... As your mate, arenât I supposed to...help?â
âThereâs never any obligation,â Joshua told you seriously without even telling Soonyoung what you said. âEven as a mate, you can always say no.â
âI guess I just...want to...?â
God, you wanted to sink into the ground.
But it was true. You felt these feelings for Soonyoung, and you liked the idea of being with him -- even if you hated having to admit it to not only Soonyoung himself, but also his grumpy brother.
âI canât even see you,â Josh said.
You came back into view as Soonyoung laughed loudly, his thumbs rubbing the backs of your hands, âItâs awkward, right?â
You nodded as you started to laugh awkwardly, too, âI hate this.â
Once you both stopped laughing, Soonyoung let out a breath. He looked deep into your eyes as he said, â_____, I canât even tell you how happy it makes me to know you trust me enough to be with me like that. Happy is an understatement, honestly. I know how you are, and I know that this is...a huge step. Iâm honored and elated and-- I just feel every good thing knowing you want to do all of that with me. But I really, really think itâs best for both of us if we wait. Not only does my hormones mess with you which is probably why you feel like you want to help, but what am I going to do if I canât understand you and I accidentally go too far or hurt you somehow? I couldnât live with myself.â
Joshua groaned, âDo I really have to say all of that?â
Soonyoung rolled his eyes before glaring at his brother, âYouâre awful help, you know that?â
âI got it.â
Soonyoung and Joshua turned their heads toward each other to look over their shoulders, seeing Kyung already coming down the short steps from the porch. Like when Joshua volunteered, Soonyoung expected to see Hansol coming to volunteer, especially after Kyung made such a huge deal about not helping. But God, was he relieved to see her coming to his rescue.
âI canât listen to you two bicker any longer,â she stated as she walked up between the two brothers. Then she pointed at Josh. âAnd if I had to listen to you sigh again, I think Iâd ask Seokmin to strike me with lightning.â
To that, he smirked, âI knew if I did a shitty enough job, youâd come do it instead.â
Her eyes narrowed, and you saw small flames start to spark from her fingertips. It was then that Joshua quickly wished you luck before walking about as fast as youâd ever seen him toward the backyard.
Kyung looked to you with soft eyes, placing a hand on your shoulder, â_____, it really does mean a lot to him that you trust him that much and want to be with him like that -- more than I think I could even attempt to put into words -- but he really wants you to wait. Since neither of you can fully understand each other, itâs more of a safety thing more than anything. If he canât understand you, thereâs a possibility he could hurt you. On top of that, his hormones have an affect on you and vice versa. The reason you feel like you want to help could totally just be because of the change in him. Itâs almost...forced, in a way.â
âHow could he hurt me?â you wondered sincerely, ignoring every other reason.
âYou know how during heat, you become... Whatâs the word...? Insatiable, I suppose? Like nothing is enough and you need more?â
âI guess.â
âItâs like that, but now itâs worse because now he has a mate,â she explained. âSo, he honestly could hurt you. Heâs not exaggerating.â
You frowned slightly. It seemed like there was no persuading him to let you stay. Considering it wasnât just a matter of not wanting to have your first time together be during mating season, but more so a safety risk, you didnât have much to fight against. You couldnât argue that youâd be fine and understand him well enough because Kyung and Joshua still had to translate the conversation you were currently having. You didnât have an argument here.
So you conceded with a sigh and a quiet, âFine...â
Soonyoung gave you an apologetic look as he let go of one of your hands to cup your cheek, the pad of his thumb rubbing across your cheeks that still felt impossibly hot, âItâs only for a week, give or take a few days.â
âI know...â you mumbled.
He stepped forward to press a soft kiss to your forehead before he tried to smile at you, even though your eyes were on the ground instead of looking at him.
âI made sure to give Hanbin and the boys your essentials,â he told you. âTheyâll walk you back with them.â
ââKay...â
âAre you mad at me?â he asked quietly, his small smile forming.
Finally, you met his eyes, âNo. No, Iâm-- ...I donât really know what I am. I think Iâm...disappointed, maybe. I donât know...â
Soonyoung let out a sigh and wrapped his arms around you in a tight hug, âIâm sorry, baby.â
âYou donât have to be sorry,â you told him. âI guess I just wish I learned faster.â
âCâmon,â Kyung tugged gently on your elbow to pull you away from Soonyoung -- who honestly, didnât really want to let go because of his rut nearing, âIâll bring you to Hanbin. Soon should probably go inside.â
So you said goodbye to your mate and followed Kyung to your old alpha so he could bring you back to your old home.
Only a week after youâd moved into your new one.

sweater wars
day five of junkissed's svt season's greetings event
member â soonyoung x reader genre â fluff, angst, hurt/comfort (happy ending) word count â 1.3k synopsis â you thought itâd be a fun idea to wear matching outfits to your office's holiday get-together. soonyoung, not so much. warnings â an angsty lil argument but it's resolved quickly, honestly that's it notes â lowercase intended. this is proofread very little so i apologize -.-
one reblog = one tiger print christmas sweater
âthis is so awful. you couldnât have picked something else? anything else?â
soonyoung groans from behind the bedroom door.
âthatâs the whole point of buying these for each other! you canât bring your own sweater to an ugly holiday sweater party!â you call back.
âbut i picked a nice one for you! can i at least take it off once we get there?â
ânope, you gotta wear it the whole night! now câmon, soonie, i wanna see!â
the door opens reluctantly and a pouting boyfriend steps out, wearing probably the worst looking ugly sweater in history.
you giggle and clap your hands. âyou look so cute!â
he glares at you. âthis is the opposite of cute! you couldâve at least gotten one with tiger print on it,â he says, walking down the stairs away from you.
âthat wouldnât have been ugly enough!â you protest. âweâve gotta have the worst to win the contest, iâm tired of mingyu winning every year.â
you flip off the upstairs light and race down the stairs to the living room area where heâs waiting. heâs standing in front of the hall mirror, staring at his reflection with a frown.Â
you walk over and slide your hands around his waist from behind.Â
âare you feeling festive?â you ask, grinning over his shoulder.
âsure thing,â he groans, rolling his eyes. âremind me why weâre doing this again?â
âbecause itâs the office holiday party! free drinks, free food, making fun of our coworkers! and weâll have fun, and then weâll come home. like we do every year.â
âhow come you didnât make me do this last year, then?â
you pout. âcâmon,â you say, patting his stomach and stepping around him so youâre at his side. âlook how good we look together, even in these awful outfits.â
you grab a santa hat from the closet and fix it on his head. âmr. claus, reporting for duty!â you giggle, trying to lighten his mood.Â
but not even your joke can put a smile on his face.Â
he sighs and grabs his coat, opening the door. âwell, letâs go get this over with.â
the drive to the restaurant isnât far, and because the traffic isnât as bad later in the evenings, the drive goes by quickly.Â
when you get in the car, you plug your phone into the aux, like you always do. but before you can play anything, soonyoung cuts you off.
âcan you not play music? itâs distracting,â he says, his eyes never leaving the road.
you look over at him. âwhy are you being so grumpy tonight? we always have music, especially during the holidays. first the sweater, now this?â
he ignores your question. âis there anyone at this party i even know?â he asks, exiting the highway.
you frown. âyeah, most of them were there last year.â
âi was way too drunk last year to know anybody i was talking to,â he says, finally cracking a little bit of a smile.
you grin back, relieved that heâs finally stopped being moody. âsee? itâs gonna be fun,â you say.
but to your dismay, his smile disappears almost as quickly as it came. âyeah, because this is definitely how i wanted to be spending today,â he glowers.
your eyebrows knit together, trying to figure out what heâs talking about. âwhatâs so special about today? why are you throwing a fit?â
he stiffens.
âsoonyoung, what is going on? what is making you so upset?â
an awkward silence fills the car for a few seconds, before he finally answers. âyou forgot our anniversary.â
âno i didnât, itâs tomorââ you stop suddenly. ohh, crap.
okay, maybe you did forget your anniversary. but itâs been a busy past few weeks, and itâs not like you forgot about it entirely; you just lost track of the days.Â
âwhy didnât you just tell me, soonie?â you ask softly. âi wouldnât have forced you to come if iâd realized. i mean, i did realize, justâ not today.â
he sighs, keeping his eyes on the road. âwell, you really wanted to go,â he says.
your face falls. âi only wanted to go because i wanted to be with you. i donât care about the party, or the stupid sweater contest. i just wanted a fun evening together.â
he stays quiet, just keeps driving.
âsoonyoung, can you pull over?â you say finally, exasperated.
âwhy?â
âbecause! will you do it, please?â
he doesnât reply, but the car starts to slow, pulling over in front of an apartment complex, decorated with strings of white lights. the car rolls to a stop, and for the first time all night, he looks over at you.
his eyes look⊠not sad, but disappointed. and it breaks your heart, because if youâd only just paid a little more attention, or put an alarm on your phone, or done anything, you wouldnât have ended up dragging soonyoung to this stupid, meaningless event when there are so many wonderful things you couldâve been doing together on your anniversary.
but because heâs just sweet the way he is, he was going along with this, because he thought itâs what you wanted. because he really would do anything for you.Â
you watch his eyes, waiting for him to say something, but heâs waiting for you. âcan we go home, please?â
his face stays blank. âwhy?â
you sigh and slump back in your seat. âbecause i donât want you to be unhappy, and i donât wanna be anywhere that makes you unhappy. i want to go home so we can spend whatâs left of our anniversary together and i can try to fix this.â
you look down at your lap, avoiding his gaze, but by doing so you miss the way his furrowed brows soften and the way his cheeks lift a little.
thereâs an awkward silence for a few more seconds before soonyoung starts the car again. âpizza or chinese?â he asks, and you look up, confused.
âwhat?â
âwhat do you wanna get for dinner? pizza, or chinese?â
you smile hesitantly, not sure if itâs supposed to be a trick question or not. of course youâll choose his favorite. âchinese?â
he looks over at you and fully smiles, and it feels like a weight is lifted off your shoulders.
after picking up takeout, you sit on the couch, eating quietly as the tv plays in the background.
you swallow and put your chopsticks down. âiâm sorry, soonie. about everything. i swear i didnât forget, i just didnât realize what day it was.â
âi know, baby,â he says, exhaling. âiâm sorry, too.â
you sigh. âi kinda deserved it, though. i couldâve set reminders or something.â
âno, but i was being a brat about it. i overreacted, i didnât have to be so rude,â he says. ânext time, i promise, iâll say something, okay?â
âi hope there wonât be a next time,â you laugh, taking another bite, and he smiles.
you pause, thinking while you finish chewing. âyou still have tomorrow off, right?â
âmhm.â he nods. âwhy?â
âweâll do everything tomorrow instead, then. i have some⊠surprises for you,â you say, flashing a grin.
he raises an eyebrow. âwhat kind of surprises?â
you giggle. âi canât tell you, itâd ruin it! but⊠i can give you this.â
you jump up from the couch and run to the hall closet, grabbing the paper gift bag from where youâd hidden it in the very back.
you come back into the room and hand it to him excitedly. âhappy anniversary.â
he beams, carefully throwing the colorful tissue paper onto the ground. you grin, waiting for his reaction
âoh my god, i love him!â his whole face lights up as he pulls the little tiger plushie out of the bag. he squeezes the stuffed animal to his chest. âour first kid!â
you laugh, eyes widening. âwoah, woah, first? slow down there, tiger.â
âyou donât want more tiger babies with me?â he pretends to pout, looking up at you with pleading eyes. he turns his plushie around to face you, waving its little arms at you, and you canât help but smile.
âweâll see what they have at target.â

JEWELS WITHIN; a wolf story pt.1
Part 2
word count: ?
summary: after being rejected by his mother at birth and parents being killed by hunters, soonyoung is faced with the responsibility of raising his little sister alone⊠until he finds you.
warnings: werewolf au, cursing, cold!soonyoung (except to Hana), character death (not in detail), I think thatâs it? If thereâs anything else please let me know!!
Note: not completely proof read, this is my first story on tumblr ( and first wolf story ) so this might be kinda rushed and I apologize for that đ hopefully this will reach people and will enjoy it :D
Another note: theres mainly only third person pov in this chapter and this is more of an introduction of what happened in the past. (Bold text is for when someone else is speaking in wolf form/time skips, italic is for soonyoung thinking to himself, bold italic is for âalpha toneâ)
âWake up!â A small voice says as soonyoung groans turning his back towards the voice. âGo back to sleep Hana, itâs to early for your screaming.â The dark haired boy says covering his eyes with his arms trying to doze back into slumber.
Keyword: trying
âBut itâs my birthday! Iâm six! You have to wake upâŠâ Hana says shaking the older boy who pushes her tiny hand away with a soft groan and slowly gets up from his spot. âItâs your birthday huh? Pretty sure it was last year.â He says jokingly, looking at her with a small smile on his face.
âBirthdayâs are each year soonie⊠and today is mine!â She says excitedly clapping her hands jumping up and down from where sheâs standing. âAlright alright calm down, letâs get you some food then shall we?â The boy says standing up and stretching before making his way out their shelter of the night to get Hanaâs food ready.
â
Six years heâs been alone, six years heâs been raising a child that shouldnât even have to live the way they do now⊠heâd be lying if he said he wasnât sick of it.
Donât get him wrong, he loves his sister and would quite literally do anything for her, even if it means sacrificing himself for her to keep going, but sometimes he asks himself⊠âwhat would it be like if we didnât have to be rogues?â Or âwhat kind of happy family would we have if mother hadnât rejected meâ and âhow would it be if our parents werenât murdered?â things like this keep him up at night. Soonyoung had been out on his own between the ages 13 and 17, despite his mother not caring for him his father on the other hand still loved him with everything he had in him.
when soonyoung was only 13, his father secretly picked him up from the teens shelter his mother had put him in and made a place for him inside the couples home so could take care of him without his mate knowing.
He made sure that the room he put the younger boy in could block out any smells that his mother would pick up and surprisingly, his father was successful in keeping his son with him for a majority of 7 years, teaching him to become strong and independent as heâd learn how to shift into wolf form some time ago, also being taught when and how to deal with the heat cycle and about finding his mate.
Recently soonyoung has been feeling odd about something within the home, so he decided to ask his father about what it is and why heâs feeling it.
âH-Hey dad?â He said to the man sitting across from him eating dinner In the little room they were inside of. âYes hoshi?â His dad answered using the nickname he had given him. âI-I have this⊠feeling? I-I donât know what it is but maybe youâd know?â He said watching his father grow a smile and turning into the chair to face him.
âI do know what it is, youâre a very smart boy soon, Iâm proud you picked it upâ jeongsoo started chuckling lighting making soonyoung confused. âYour mother is pregnant, soonyoung.â
Soonyoung was shocked when his father told him his parents are expecting to say the least, he felt his heartbeat in his head and was almost positive his father heard it too, was it nervousness? No, of course not, but in all honesty he was a little upset⊠okay maybe he was really upset but he wouldnât take it out on the baby. Never.
âSheâs pregnant?! She canât even accept her first born more so look at me, why would this happen again?â He said getting up from his seat on the bed and leaving the room where his father looked at him and left him alone.
â
Soonyoung ran in his wolf form and went to the only place he knew was safe to think about what he was just told.
Pregnant? The woman canât even come near her son for fucks sake, maybe she changed? I doubt it though⊠it just doesnât make sense,
Does the moon goddess have something against me? I hope not. Thereâs 9 months left though, who knows if sheâll reject the child or not.
While soonyoung sat alone in the grass filled field, he smelled a familiar scent and chuckled lightly.
âWhy did you come after me.â He said in a bit of spite. âDonât catch a tone with me boy.â His father said looking at him with eyes that basically said âdonât try itâ I know youâre upset but no need to be disrespectful.â He said in a scolding tone. âSorry, I just donât really know how to react right now.â He said scrunching his eyebrows and looking over to where his father sits in his wolf form as well.
âListen soonyoung, I know this is a lot to take in, I know how you feel.â
âMy mother rejected me when I was born as well, didnât want a thing to do with me⊠so when your mother did the same to you I was devastated. But I still did everything I could to be in your life despite that, your grandfather couldâve cared less to watch over me like I do for you.â
âDoes mom know that you were rejec-â âNo.â
Silence fell over the two for some time.
âYour mother came from a well supported pack, while as I⊠came from a pack where we had to fight continuously. For our will to live, it wasnât easy but we made it through.â Jeongsoo said choking up a bit but keeping his composure.
âDad.. Iâm sorr-â âno need to be son, the reason Iâm telling you this is so you know youâre not alone, Iâve been there where you sit and grew up to be who I am today.â He said turning towards his son who had tears filling his eyes. âDonât cry, save them for when you truly need them.â He said nuzzling his nose into his sons cheek.
âDad Iâm to old for thatâ soonyoung said laughing. âYouâll always be my pup whether you like it or not.â Jeongsoo said doing his nuzzle a bit more harder and the two then started play fighting while the moon shined so bright.
â
over the 9 months the boy was mentally preparing his introduction when he would meet his sister⊠little did he know that more than an introduction would be something he needs to prepare for.
The day had finally came when his sister would be coming into the world and he was actually excited, his father would show him ultrasound photos so that heâd some way feel included as well, even if it was from afar.
5 hours later.
Soonyoung was sitting down on the cold rug in his âroomâ eating a snack he had gotten while he snuck out and heard the door open with the noise of a baby crying filled his ears. The boys eyes lit up and quickly finished what he was eating, waiting for his father to introduce him to his sister⊠and when he did soonyoung was thankful his father told him to save his tears for something else, In other words.
A very special moment.
âIsnât she adorable hoshi? She looks just like you when you were a baby!â Jeongsoo exclaimed with joy over his face, watching his son hold his sister with a huge smile.
âI love her, whatâs her name?â Soonyoung said with a big grin and looked up to his father while rocking his sister who stopped crying. âWe actually havenât thought of a name yet, weâre still deciding.â Jeongsoo said with a nod. âOh okay! Whereâs mom? Iâm surprised sheâs not wondering where you areâ âsheâs upstairs resting, Iâve told her to do so and Iâll take care of this little girl for the meantime. In other words give her to youâ He said smiling. ïżŒ
The rest of the evening went smooth while soonyoung bonded with the baby, which by the way- never cried unless she was hungry, tired, or taken away from her brother which shocked the boy but made him happy too.
Everything went well for those 4 hours until it was time to wrap up dinner and head to sleep.
-
Soonyoung laid on his bed listening to his mother trying to calm the baby, but to no avail as he knew he was the one who could make her stop crying. He shook his head rolling his eyes as he turns to shut the small lamp next to him.
As he closed his eyes finally in a state of peace, he hears glass break and lots of voices shouting. What the fuck?
He quickly sccuries to his feet and opens the door to find his father with the newborn, a frantic look on his face as he gently shoves the baby into the boys arms. âDad Whats happening?â âSoonyoung, i want you to leave the house and run as fast as you can. Far as you can, weâre under attack and i know what they want.â Jeongsoo states looking into the boys eyes with red eyes.
âBut I donât understand why are they here so suddenly?!?â He says barley getting his sentence out when a loud pitch scream is heard.
âDad??!â âSoonyoung, go. Take care of your sister do you hear me? Be happy and protect yourself as Iâve taught you, now go!â Jeongsoo says rushing towards the back door of the home pushing the boy out and soonyoung takes one last look behind him to see his mother for the last time before the door is shut in his face.
âGet the boy and the infant!â He hearsâŠ
He starts running.
1 week later
âI never thought Iâd see myself having to become a parent so quickâ soonyoung says chuckling sadly. âIâm sorry for the life thatâs ahead, I promise Iâll always do my best to make you happy, only you.â He says looking down to the baby softly rubbing her cheek. âDad said you donât have a name yet so⊠how about Hana? You like that? Hm?â The baby in question starts smiling showing her cute little dimples making her brother smile too.
âI still wonder how you got dimples, but it doesnât matter theyâre the cutest on you.â He says poking her belly gently. âWe have a long journey ahead of us, Hana.â He says sighing.
Present
âSlow down Hana the food wonât run awayâ the older boy says laughing softly. âBut itâs so good! Want some?â She says with her mouth full of food and picks up some of her breakfast (soonyoung had previously hunted the day before) and putting it towards the boy who shakes his head.
âNo, Iâm fine thank you.â He says smiling softly and takes a moment to look at the trees.
New morning, new day which means they need to start moving from their place. Each day soonyoungâs goal is to get closer and closer into town, heâs been before, of course. But he needs to make a better lifestyle for Hana and himself quick, he refuses his sister living such a cruel life any longer.
âWhat you looking at?â Hana asks looking at her brother who seems to be in his thoughts. âSoonie?â She says in a high voice, moving to stand up and make her way towards the older boy. âHoshi!!â She screams making soonyoung flinch and turn around franticly, crouching down and holding her face in his palms.
âWhat?? Are you okay? What happened?!â He quickly asks. âNothing! You werenât responding so I scream!â She says laughing as if she was told the funniest joke on earth. âWell you scared me, anyways are you finished? We should get moving.â He says rolling his eyes and standing back up looking back at the trees again.
âBut⊠soonie you havenât ate!â She says worriedly with wide eyes. âIâll be fine Hana donât worryâ He says with an assuring nod. âLetâs get going.â He says taking her hand in his and starting their journey.
-
âSoon, my legs are sleepy.â Hana mumbles but soonyoung can hear it just fine. âI know nana, you wanna get on my back?â He asks and she nods.
He crouches down her height and suddenly hears a crunch in the leaves, thinking it was just his weight that naturally crushed the leaves until he heard it again.
âShitâ he mumbles as he looks up to see 3 wolves surrounding them with red eyes. âHoshi what happening?â Hana asks as soonyoung holds her close to his side and eyes turning red when he hears loud howling.
âSoonyoung Iâm scared!â Hana whimpers. âShhâ he says quietly. âHana cover your eyes.â âNo! Iâm scared!â âI wonât let anything happen to you just close your eyes!â He yells making Hana flinch and slowly cover her eyes and starts crying quietly.
Soonyoung steps a little further away from hana and shifts into his wolf. Stepping in-front of her protectively and growling lowly to the other wolves who had stood before them.
âWhat are rogues like yourself doing in my territory, you shouldnât be here.â The wolf in the middle who soonyoung assumed was the alpha said lowly. âI didnât know this was your territory, let alone one at all. You should have better guards cause clearly they donât do their fucking job.â Soonyoung said matching the alphas tone.
Surprisingly the other two wolfs looked amused. âWoah he talked back to Joshua, this is interestingâ one of the wolfs said making the wolf supposedly named Joshua growl at them. âYou need to leave before things get ugly and I donât think you want that.â He said nodding over the the little girl whoâs still crying making soonyoung move his leg to further more cover Hana.
âWeâll leave.â Soonyoung says sharply, laying down so hana can get on his back and walking another direction.
âWait!â One of the wolfs ran up to him and he instinctively got into a defense position. âCalm down dude, I just wanted to say.â The wolf looks at the other two before back at soonyoung. âYou two should come with us, for the night, itâs getting late and cold so you guys can stay at our home until morning.â âWhat?â Joshua says angrily. âIâm aria by the way!â She says running back towards the other wolf.
âI donât think thatâs a good idea.â Soonyoung says. âWeâre on your territoryâ âyes but-â â heâs right aria, and you canât just invite some rogue with a child into our pack house are you crazy?!â Joshua spits. âMaybe I am, but Iâve been in their position at one point in my life and so have you, so have some fucking decency for once and let them stay with us!â Aria says.
âFine, but for one night only.â He says turning back to glare at soonyoung who glares back instantly.
This is not how soonyoung wanted to enjoy Hanaâs birthday.

MINORS DO NOT INTERACT đ
In the frosty heart of the city, there's a large edifice owned by Soonyoung, a mafia boss, who goes by the alias Hoshi. He is a man of few words and even fewer smiles, a dangerously cold man who rules his criminal empire with an iron fist.
However, even the coldest hearts can take a hit under the circumstances. One day, Soonyoung's advisors come to him with a proposition: an arranged marriage to you, brilliant young physician and the daughter of a powerful ally now, but previously your clan had been prime rival of his clan, things still on the brink of simmering sometimes.
The advisors believe that this union would strengthen Soonyoung's hold on his territory, as your father controlled a large part of the city's medical services and underground capo. Always a man of strategy, Soonyoung agrees to the arrangement, despite his initial lack of interest in matrimony.
The reason, more of the truth is, Soonyoung's empire is under threat from a rival gang and your family has the resources and influence to help turn the tide in his favor. By marrying you, he would secure an alliance that could tip the balance of power in his favor.
Soonyoung has always been a complex man, a man who has built his empire on fear and ruthlessness. But beneath that icy exterior, there is a hint of loneliness and sadness. He has always been a solitary figure, never allowing himself to get close to anyone.
Being an orphan, he was basically raised on the streets of the city. He had learned early on that the world was a cold and unforgiving place. He had made his way up in the criminal underworld, using his cunning tactics and ruthlessness to secure his position as a boss.
To begin with, he had fallen in with a small gang of street thugs and by providing himself as a quick learner, he soon became their leader. It was during this time that he met a seasoned mobster, who recognized his potential and took him under his wing.
Soonyoung's rivals are the Kims, a powerful and ruthless mafia clan who controls a significant part of the city's criminal underworld. They had been feuding with his gang for years over territory, resources, and power.
You, on the contradictory note, are a fiery, independent spirit. You had grown up as the heir of another wealthy and influential mafia clan. Despite your privileged upbringing, you had never allowed yourself to be intimidated by the criminal world that surrounded you.
You had always been a bright and curious child, with a love for learning, excelling in studies, particularly in the field of medicines. Despite your family's objections, you had pursued the medical degree from a prestigious university.
You have seen deaths growing up, so the main reason for becoming a doctor was a way of protesting, while your family killed, you wanted to save lives.
You are shocked on receiving the marriage proposal from Soonyoung's advisors. It's not that you had never expected to be married into another mafia clan but you had never imagined it would be Soonyoung's. You have seen your brothers held at the gunpoint by the said man, in exchange for royalty. Things might look good on the surface but you know better.
So after much discussion and negotiation, you agreed to the marriage. Your family saw it as an opportunity to broker a more prominent peace treaty with Soonyoung's gang.
Though you have agreed to the marriage, your impression of Soonyoung was simple, the leader of the Kwon mafia clan who's ruthless and walks on the blood of people.
You saw this marriage as an opportunity to gain more independence and autonomy within your own family, a chance to make a difference in the criminal underworld by promoting peace and cooperation.
The first time you two meet is at a formal dinner arranged by your family. Though you both are seated next to each other and pleasantries are exchanged, Soonyoung doesn't pay much mind to you.
He is distracted during the dinner, paying more attention to the men of the gang and their discussions, than to you. However as the meal went on, he couldn't help but be drawn to your strength and poise.
Later that evening, when the dinner ends and the guests are leaving, Soonyoung finds himself lingering near you. After much consideration, he asks you to go for a walk in the gardens outside the estate.
As you both walk together in the moonlit gardens, you try to make small talks with him only to meet with dry replies. You can sense the coldness and aloofness in his aura.
His eyes narrow as he asks you bluntly, "So, tell me. Why did you agree to this marriage?
You weren't expecting a blunt question this quick but who are you kidding, it's Soonyoung afterall. Feeling a pang of disappointment, you reply tersely, "My reasons for agreeing to this union are none of your concern. Enough about that, let's return inside."
He seems to ignore your words and continues to press on you, his voice low and rough as he asks, "Do you really think you can handle life with me, as my wife? As the leader's wife?
Soonyoung's sharp tone causes a chill to run down your spine, but you refuse to back down. Meeting his frightening gaze boldly, you reply, "I can handle whatever comes my way, Soonyoung. I am not some delicate flower that will wilt at the first sign of trouble."
His lips quirked into a small smirk at your bold response, his demeanor softening just a little. He couldn't help but admire you for your bravery and strength, and he suddenly feels a desire to know more about you. "Well then..."
He begins to lead you to a secluded part of the garden, away from prying eyes. The moonlight illuminates your path as you both walk together in silence. "I suppose we will have plenty of time to get to know each other once we are married," he says at last with a hint of sarcasm.
After a few moments of comfortable silence, he abruptly stops walking and turns to face you. His expression is unreadable as he says, "Y/N, I want to make one thing perfectly clear. Just because we are getting married, it doesn't mean that I will be easy on you."
He continues, "You will be my wife in name only. I expect you to follow my orders, no matter what they are. My position as the leader of our people is everything to me, and nothing, not even you, will ever come before it."
You look at Soonyoung, eyes narrowing as you listen to his harsh words. Despite his warning, you could see the uncertainty in his gaze, and it gives you a hope. "I understand." you say quietly.
Over the next few weeks, you are forced to throw yourself into the preparations for your wedding. The entire city is bustling with activity, but one person seemed to be conspicuously absent - Soonyoung. He sends his men and servants to assist with the preparations but he has not been seen in days.
Despite your frustration, you try not to let it show. You don't want to give your would-be husband the satisfaction of knowing that he is getting under your skin. But as the days turns into weeks, you couldn't help but wonder if he is even going to show up for the wedding.
You try to reach out to Soonyoung numerous times, but never receive a response. You have even sent messengers to his estate, but they all returned with the same message - he is unavailable. You even attempted to visit him herself, but were turned away at the gate.
As the days went on, you couldn't help but rethink your decision to marry Soonyoung. You shouldn't have given the nod, shouldn't have agreed under the pressure of your family because Soonyoung is distant and completely unwilling to let you in. You are compelled, you divert yourself back into your regular routine, living in the hospital dorms just to keep yourself busy and your mind away from all sorts of unpleasant thoughts.
With each passing day, you grow more and more convinced that you have made a mistake. You couldn't shake the feeling that Soonyoung would never truly care for you and that your marriage would be nothing more than a political arrangement.
The day of the wedding arrives. You stand wearing the white gown, looking out at the assembled guests. Your heart feels heavy with doubt and you couldn't help but wonder what your life would have been like if you had followed your heart.
The crowd grows restless as the ceremony draws near and there is still no sign of the groom. You try to push down your growing anxiety but you can't shake the feeling that something is terribly wrong. And then finally, as the sun begins to set, Soonyoung appears.
He looks unapologetic and nonchalant as he strolls towards you with small smile on his lips, seeming completely unfazed by the fact that he has kept his bride waiting and takes your hand without a second thought.
As the vows are exchanged, you feel your doubts grow even stronger. You wonder if you would ever be able to truly accept a man who has so carelessly disrespected you. But for now, you bury those feelings and force yourself to smile, knowing that it was too late to turn back now.
The rest of the wedding day passes in a blur. You go through the motions, dancing and laughing with your guests, all the while feeling a growing sense of emptiness inside. And as the night wears on, you are convinced that you have made a grave mistake.
From the start, Soonyoung's cold demeanor and possessive attitude caused friction between you two. He expects you to cater to his every whim, but you have promised yourself to never be intimidated by his threats and his icy stare.
As newlyweds, you both settle into the honeymoon suite. You feel your heart sink once again because you had hoped that the spark would be reignited once you both were alone, but Soonyoung seems more interested in the bottle than in you.
You sit on the edge of the bed, your eyes fixed on your hands. Your husband stands by the window, nursing a glass of whiskey. The silence is palpable.
"Soonyoung," you begin, your voice barely above a whisper, "Why did you leave me alone at the altar today?"
Soonyoung turns to face you, his expression unreadable. He takes a long pull from his glass before answering, "I didn't leave you at the altar, if I did then we wouldn't have been married and you wouldn't have been here."
His face hardens as he steps closer to you, "I don't have time for your tears or your theatrics," he snaps, "You knew that this isn't going to be a normal marriage with rainbows and sunshine so stop whining and play your part."
Your eyes are narrow as you stand up to face him, "I may have agreed to this marriage, but I will not be treated like a doormat," you say, your voice is steady and strong, "I am more than just a trophy wife."
Soonyoung sneers at you, his annoyance growing. "Then what are you, Y/N? You're nothing but a foolish woman because you agreed to this marriage knowing there would be no love, no obligations."
Your eyes flash with anger as you bite back with a retort, "Fine. If you want to play the game of cold indifference, then let's see who breaks first."
You take a step closer to him, your voice low and dangerous, "Don't test me, Soonyoung", you warn, "I may not be a man, but I am not as weak as you seem to think. I can give as good as I get.", you reach up and grab a handful of his shirt, your fingers digging into the fabric.
Soonyoung's eyes widen in surprise at your sudden burst of anger. He opens his mouth to speak, but you cut him off with a sharp look, "I am done being your doormat", you say, your voice full of fire and determination.
After that night, you both settle into a cold and distant marriage. You live in a lavish mansion but the tension between you both is palpable. But even after the heated word exchange, you tried your best to make the marriage work, but Soonyoung's cold and rude demeanor made it impossible.
You made constant efforts to engage with him. You organized dinners and gatherings, hoping that you'd connect over shared interests. You tried to talk to him about the relationship, expressing your desires for a more loving and supportive partnership.
You also made an effort to spend quality time with Soonyoung. You would plan trips and outings, clearing your schedules, hoping that the time alone would help you both grow closer. You would often try to initiate deep conversations in the hopes that it would melt his cold exterior.
Despite your best efforts, your husband remains the same. He shows no signs of caring for you or reciprocating your affections. The lack of feelings weighed heavily on you.
You try to warn Soonyoung when you discover that he has been secretly meeting with a member of the rival mafia clan. As a doctor, you feel strongly about upholding the law but as his wife, you couldn't help but worry about his safe being.
Soonyoung isn't a fool. He knows what he is doing. He has his own reasons for secretly meeting, whoever he is meeting. He believes that forming an alliance with them would bring more power and wealth to his own clan, securing their position as a dominant force in the criminal underworld but if he fails to coax them to form an ally then he'd finish the whole clan.
"You don't understand the ways of the mafia, my dear wife. I do what needs to be done, whether you approve or not.", he answers you.
"And you don't know what you're getting yourself into," you plead, your hands gripping his arms in desperation. "The rival clan is ruthless and they will stop at nothing to take us down."
Soonyoung's expression hardens as he pulls his arms out of your grip. "You don't trust me to handle this, do you?" he accuses, his voice full of rage, "I am the leader of this clan, and I know what I'm doing."
Suddenly, Soonyoung's expression darkens as he looks at you, "You have a secret it seems," he says, his voice low and dangerous. "Is there something you're hiding from me because how the hell did you know that I'm meeting the people of rival clan?"
Your eyes flash with defiance as you walk out of the room, leaving Soonyoung standing there. You couldn't believe he would accuse you of hiding something from him even after she have just warned him about the danger. He seems to have forgotten that you too belong to a powerful mafia clan.
Since that day, your relationship becomes more strained as you both stopped speaking to each other. Soonyoung is always staking out doing something you don't care about anymore and you sort to spending more time at hospital.
Your heart stops, one night, as you see Soonyoung walk into the home, his clothes soaked in blood. You run to him, your hands reaching out to touch him, to make sure he is okay.
"What happened?", you ask, eyes scanning his body.
Soonyoung's voice is distant as he speaks, "It's not my blood." he says, pushing your hands away. "I killed someone before he could kill me."
Your eyes wander before you look at him. Something about his story doesn't add up. You step closer, studying his face and see the faint traces of tears in his eyes, "Soonyoung," you say softly, reaching out to touch his cheek. "What really happened?"
Soonyoung's reaction takes you by surprise but you don't let it deter you. You follow him quietly to your shared bedroom, watching as he collapses on the bed. "Soonyoung," you repeat, your voice softer now, "Tell me the truth."
Soonyoung lets out a sigh as he turns to face you. He looks into your eyes, knowing he couldn't hide the truth from you any longer, "I had planted a mole, one of my trusted men in their gang.", he admits, his voice barely above a whisper, "He got caught by them and was already dead when I found him."
Soonyoung hesitates, taking a deep breath before continuing, "If I had arrived a bit earlier, I could have saved him. But I got a hold of some of them and killed them all.", he turns away, his voice filled with regret.
Your concern for your husband overpowers any disappointment you have in him. You move closer to him, your hands gently examining his body for any injuries. "Are you hurt? Is that your blood?"
He looks up at you, his eyes filled with pain, "Yes," he whispers, "I was stabbed."
He lifts his shirt, revealing a long wound on his side. You gasp, your hands immediately going to the wound as you inspect it.
You quickly grab some bandages and disinfectant from the first aid kit and carefully clean the wound before wrapping it up, making sure it is clean and protected. "We need to get you to a hospital," you say firmly, "This needs stitches."
He grabs your hand and tells you that he can't.
You frown at his response, but you don't let it deter you, "Soonyoung, this is serious," you say, trying to keep the worry out of your voice, "You need medical attention."
Soonyoung shakes his head, his grip on your hand tightening.
His actions cut through you like a knife, "I don't need your help", he spats out, his voice filled with anger and frustration, "Just leave me alone." He pulls his hand away from yours, turning his back on you as he tries to hide the pain in his eyes.
You know that he needs medical attention and you are not going to let him suffer any longer. Gathering up your sewing kit and some painkillers, you approach him again.
You sit down next to him, carefully cleaning and numbing the wound before starting to stitch it up. The entire process is painful and tense, with Soonyoung gritting his teeth and occasionally flinching as the needle goes in.
You don't receive a thanks, rather you receive an ultimatum to never interfere in his matters again.
As the weeks went by, you both grew more distant. You'd only see each other in the bedroom that too occasionally and your conversations are always short and perfunctory. As demanded by your husband, you have finally stopped caring about his matters.
Soonyoung bursts into the mansion one evening, his face red with anger. He has heard something he couldn't believe. He shouts out your name, closing in on you as you sat on the couch.
Your confusion turns into fear as you see the anger in his eyes.
"You dated Minho.", he declares, gritting his teeth, "The son of Kim's, the next boss of their clan."
You hadn't expected him to find out about your brief relationship with the rival gang member. Your voice is stern when you say, "I did date him, but it was years ago when we were both in college. But I broke up with him as soon as I found out who his family was. I never would do anything hurtful for my family or the people I care for."
Soonyoung has been boiling the entire time, he is frustrated, he is mad. So he hurls some insults at you and you do too. The fight has turned into something else entirely. You both are overwhelmed with emotion.
"What kind of man doesn't want his wife?", you yell at him, "Maybe I should go back to Minho, at least he would treat me better."
At this point you're saying anything and everything to bottle out your frustration.
"So you want me to treat you as my wife?", Soonyoung turns calm suddenly, his tone low, "You want me to want you?"
And before you both know it, the anger has turned into something darker and more primal.
Soonyoung reaches you in long strides and kisses you by grabbing your head.
He backs you to the bedroom, lips still connected. One gaze after he pulls away and the tension snaps. You both rip each other's clothes off, your bodies colliding in a rough wave.
You bodies now move in a desperate rhythm, each thrust and grind a testament to the months of frustration and pent-up desire that had been building between the you of you. Soonyoung's hands roamed all over your body, gripping your hips, pulling your hair and squeezing your breasts roughly.
His voice is low and rough as he speaks into your mouth, "You're mine, Y/N.", he says, his hips pistoning into yours, "I can't get enough of you, even when I hate you for speaking of some other man when I was infront of you just because you were feigning for some touch. I'll show that I could all and above."
You meet his intensity with your own. You claw at his back, leaving red marks on his skin as you scream out your own frustration, "I'm not yours, Soonyoung," you spat, "I never was."
You buck your hips, meeting his thrusts with equal ferocity, gripping the sheets tightly. Your body is aching with pleasure and pain because of the roughness.
"You're just a means to an end," you say with a feral glint in your eyes. "You always were."
Soonyoung's lips curl in a savage smile as he hears your words. He grips your hips tighter and slams into you harder, the headboard banging against the wall with each thrust, "I'll make sure you never forget me then."
His hand wraps around your throat, not enough to choke you but enough to assert dominate. He leans down, his breath hot against your skin as he sucks and bites at your neck, marking you as his, "Happy to finally get what you wanted?"
Your breath hitches as his hand tightens around you throat but you don't back down. You meet his gaze with a fierce glare, your fingers digging into his back deeper as you hold on, "I'll always be a thorn in your side."
Soonyoung chuckles darkly, his hand finally releasing your throat, now placing it on your hips again, pulling you closer to him as he thrusts deeper, "And I wouldn't have it any other way."
In response, you wrap your legs around him and meet each of his thrusts with one of your own, your bodies slapping together in a heated dance.
His eyes darken with desire as he continues to thrust, the two of you getting lost in a wild and animalistic rhythm. He reaches down rubbing your clit, causing you to moan loudly as you come undone beneath him.
Feeling you clenching around him as you came, Soonyoung couldn't hold back any longer. He thrusts into you a few more times before spilling himself inside of you, his fingers gripping your hips tightly as he releases everything he had.
But even as he holds you close to him, he knows that your relationship would never be simple. You are fiery and independent, a woman who would always challenge him and keep him on his toes. But he wouldn't have it any other way.
You lay in Soonyoung's arms, your body still trembling and humming with pleasure. You have never felt so alive, so free. You have always been a thorn in his side, always pushing back against him, never making it easy for him.
But in this moment, as you lay together, bodies still entwined, you couldn't help but feel something more for your husband. You aren't sure if it is love, or just a deep and primal attraction, but you know that you have found something special in him.
And so, as the night wore on, you and Soonyoung lay there, holding each other tightly.
But eventually, the night had to end. The first light of dawn begins to break over the horizon, casting a golden glow over the room as you wake up to an empty bed.
And as the sun continues to rise, you both go back to your usual ways, each pretending to be indifferent to the other. But deep down, you both know that something has changed between you both, that you are no longer just enemies, but something more complicated and unpredictable.
And so, as the days passed and the war raged on, you both find yourselves drawn to each other again and again, your fiery chemistry impossible to resist. You fought and fucked, through it all, never not craving each other's touch.
Another such episode comes when you storm into Soonyoung's office, your eyes blazing with anger. You had a long, shitty day at the hospital so you are here, into the vicinity of your husband, ready to give him a piece of your mind.
As soon as you see him, sitting there behind his desk, claded in a fitting suit, all your other thoughts go into the gutter. You couldn't help but feel a deep, primal desire for him. And from the look in his eyes, you could tell that he felt the same way.
Soonyoung's jaw clenches on seeing you and he couldn't help but let his anger show, "What the hell do you want?", he snarls, standing up and slamming his fists on the desk, "How dare you barge into my office? Can't you see I'm busy?"
Your eyes narrow and you let out a low, dangerous laugh, "Oh, I see", you say, sauntering towards him with a seductive sway in your hips, "I thought you'd be busy jerking yourself off to the thought of me."
Soonyoung lets out a laugh as his control snaps. He reaches out and grabs you, pulling you towards him before turning you over and bending over the desk, his hands roughly gripping your hips as he grinds himself against you.
You gasp as his hands roam over your clothed body, igniting a fire within you that you couldn't resist. You moan as he presses himself against you, your body craving his touch despite everything, "Fuck me, Soonyoung."
His voice is low and rough as he leans in close to your ear, "You want me to fuck you, my wife?" he growls, his hot breath sending chills down your spine, "You've been begging for it since the moment you walked in here."
Your smirk turns into a gasp as he turns you around again, hands ripping your clothes. His gaze marvels at you in nothing your lingerie before tearing them as well, revealing your naked body to him. You swear under your breath as the cool air hits your skin, but it's quickly replaced with the heat of Soonyoung's touch.
"You're a fucking animal."
Soonyoung's only response is a guttural growl as he lifts you onto the desk, spreading you legs and entering harshly into you without hesitation. Your hands work on undressing him as he thrusts in. The sound of the bodies slapping against each other fills the room, along with your moans and his grunts of pleasure.
The heat of your bodies is overwhelming and your head falls back as you surrender to the pleasure that your husband is giving you. The pain of his rough treatment mixed with pleasure and you find yourself moaning loudly, scratching at his back as he continues to rearrange your insides.
His thrusting never slows as he looks down at you, his eyes dark with desire. He smirks, leaning down to whisper in your ear, "You like that, don't you? Being treated like the filthy slut you are."
Your glare turns into a snarl as you grab Soonyoung's throat, your fingers digging into his skin. "Shut up and fuck me harder.", you growl through gritted teeth. Your grip tightens around his neck as you pull him closer, your faces inches apart.
Soonyoung snickers at your response, the smirk never wavering, "With pleasure, my dirty little whore," he responds with a chuckle before kissing you passionately.
"You're damn right, I am." you say pulling away, your grip tightening even more, "Now fuck me like the animal you are."
You pull him down for another rough and bruising kiss, refusing to let go as your bodies collide in a mess of sweat and heat.
He breaks the kiss, a triumphant smirk on his face as his thrust takes animalistic speed.
Your moans and his grunts of pleasure, floods the rooms. You bite on his shoulder blade, leaving an angry red mark as you hold on and let him ravage her body.
Soonyoung's thrusts became more erratic as he feels his orgasm building up within him, ready to spill. Your body shakes with pleasure, the two of you reaching the climax together.
He pulls out of you and collapses onto you, panting and covered in sweat, "Fuck," he says with a grin.
"You're wild.", you glare at him, but a smirk of your own forms as you try to push him off you.
Soonyoung slides off and stretches, his muscles aching from the exertion of your passionate encounter.
"You think that was good just because you could keep up with me?", you laugh with a seductive smirk on your lips, "I've fucked better and rougher."
Soonyoung flexes his muscles, a smug grin on his face, "Well, I guess it was a good thing for you then, wasn't it?" he shot back, pushing your buttons with ease.
You roll your eyes but couldn't keep the smile off your face.
"You know what?", you say as you hop off the table, "Keep telling yourself that.", you start walking towards the bathroom, "I'll take a shower first, wanna join?"
You look down at your torn clothes and laugh with a playful glint in her eye, "Well, looks like I'll be walking out of here naked", and look over at your husband with a smirk, "I guess you want all your men to see me like this."
Soonyoung's temper flares at the thought of all the men in the office seeing his wife naked. He quickly follows you into the bathroom with a fierce determination on his face.
"Fuck no." he mutters to himself and turns you around to face him.
He cups your face and looks deeply into your eyes, "You're mine and I won't share you with anyone.", he says possessively, a fierce protectiveness in his gaze, "So, either put on my spare clothes or wait till I get you something to wear."
Your eyes flashed with a hint of defiance as you shrug off in hold, "I don't care if anyone sees me naked.", you snip to rile him up.
Soonyoung steps closer, "If you let another man look at this state of yours whether or not I'm around, I will rip them apart," he growls.
And he doesn't waste any time. His carnal instincts takes over once again so you are now bent her over the bathroom counter, his hands gripping your hips as he plunges into you from behind as he fucks with a wild abandon.
The bathroom was filled with the sound of your heavy breathing and the slick slap of the bodies. His fingers dug into your hips as he thrust deep inside you, his lips pressing a savage kiss to your shoulder, "Mine."
Your head falls back, breath hitching as Soonyoung hits a particularly sensitive spot deep inside you, "Yes.", you gasp, "All yours."
As your orgasm subsides for the second time, Soonyoung gently pulls out of you and turns you to face him. He wraps his arms around you, holding you close, pressing a tender kiss to your forehead, "I mean it," he murmurs, "You're mine."
You are taken aback by this sudden affectionate gesture. You hadn't expected tenderness from him after your rough session earlier. You look up at him and smile softly, a strange warmth spreading through your chest, "I'm yours, Soonyoung.", you repeat, your voice softer this time.
Your husband smiles back and tilts your head up so he can see you better. He looks into your eyes, his own softening as he sees the sincerity in your gaze., "And I'm yours.", he whispers before leaning in and kissing you softly.
You have already melted the icy shield and Soonyoung thinks it's time he starts to show that he can be sincere, that he too wants this marriage to work.
Urgent knocks on the office door makes Soonyoung scrumbling out of the bathroom, searching for his clothes in a hurry. He knows that the pattern of those knocks always meant some trouble.
Just as he goes to open the door, he hears the clanking of the gun and turns back only to feel the metal being pressed on the skin of his forehead.
"Hey, Hoshi.", you smile at your husband condescendingly, holding him at the gunpoint.

author's notes: i wrote this while recalling a lot of my own harrowing experiences with boys growing up and had a lot of embarrassing fun with it. i hope you all fall in love with this soonyoung the way i did.
Thereâs something to be said about how youâre hiding in your neighborâs bush right now but youâre not interested in dealing with it at the moment.
You had been pulled from the comfort of your bed by the smiling, panting, hunk of hair known as your dog Ddalgi. He had been startled awake by the film you were watching and despite the ungodly hour, he had demanded to be taken out for a walk. If he had just closed his eyes and fallen back asleep, you wouldnât be in such a predicament.
On most nights your neighborhood is dead quiet and pretty much abandoned at 1AM, everyone having retreated into the comfort of their homes. But tonight is an exception and the only other person outside makes you swear something unladylike. Itâs Soonyoung.
Itâs Soonyoung who had moved into the neighborhood three months ago. Soonyoung who you were able to successfully evade for all those weeks. Soonyoung who had just put a pretty lady into a taxi, his wishes of safety and to let him know when sheâs made it home audible just as you rounded the corner from the Jangâs.
You try to stay as still and as quiet as you can, willing him to walk back up his stupid driveway and into his house so you and Ddalgi can make a run for it to your dogâs favorite stop just past his property. Had you been alone youâd be successful, but your Golden Retriever's bladder is ready to burst and his whines and antsy tippy tapping toes are enough to sell you out.
Then comes a call of your name, âIs that you?â
Thereâs no use in hiding now and you make a face before trying to compose yourself, moving behind the bush and sending a tentative wave his way.
âEvening, Hosh!â You wave from your spots.
You curse every god you can name at the top of your head because of course it had to be Soonyoung.
He waves back tentatively and turns his wrist to look at the time on his watch and you can see him furrowing his eyebrows, probably not believing the time.
Ddalgi is having none of it, by the way, and tugs at you impatiently at the sight of someone new. Heâs wagging his tail ferrociously as you two make your way to Soonyoung â your dog excitedly, and you begrudging.
All questions fall from Soonyoungâs lips as he greets Ddalgi with open arms allowing your dog to lick at his face. Youâll forever remember this night as your dog getting further with your teenage crush in his two years of life than you have in all twenty eight of yours.
You start cursing gods again.
You will have to admit that the two of them are cute and you wish you could snap a picture of the sweet moment, Soonyoungâs love for animals still ever present. You have to keep the smile down when he looks up to you from where heâs kneeled down to play with Ddalgi.
Once heâs had enough of your dogâs wet, slobbery love, he gets up, dusts off the imaginary dust from his pants and looks to you expectantly. As always, Soonyoung looks fresh and young and bright. You wonder if you should shield your eyes from his natural brilliance.Â
Ddalgi busies himself by sniffing at Soonyoungâs bushes, no doubt ready to unleash his bladder, while you kind of sway there in your ratty sweater and sleep shorts.Â
âSo!â You start, flashing him a cheesy smile.
âSooooâŠâ Soonyoung replies with a laugh, shoving his hands into his pockets.
Youâre saved by the bell when you hear the telltale sound of your dog going and you canât help but make a face, âSorry about that, he really needed to go.â
Soonyoung himself canât help when he lets out a laugh and you want to melt.
âItâs no bother, reallyââ
âAlso uh, sorry about uh, you knowââ
âOh!âÂ
Youâre both cutting each other off and when you meet his eyes you both canât help the genuine laughter that spills out of both your mouths. Ddalgi canât help it either when he lets out a gleeful bark, wanting to join in on the fun.
When youâve caught your breath, you canât help that a smile stays on your face.
âWhat I was trying to say,â You finally get out, âis uh, sorry for walking in on you and your uhh, ya know, lady friendââ
Soonyoung tries to butt in with a âNo, it reallyââ
You stop him with a hand on his chest and a playful, overexaggerated wink.
âDonât worry, I wonât tell dad youâre still up this late or whatever arcane rule of his youâve broken,â with a slight tug of his leash, you start to lead Ddalgi towards the direction of your house.
Soonyoung gapes at you and you send him a thumbs up.
As youâre walking away he seems to get a hold of his bearings and yells out, disrupting the calm evening, âIt wasnât like that, I swear!â
You turn to him, walking backwards, âDonât worry, Hosh! I can keep a secret!â
And keep this secret you will. Youâd take it to the grave if you have to. Because it was mortifying.
The mere idea that Soonyoung was going to be caught in a dating scandal had been your personal nightmare for years. Harboring a crush was brutal in and of itself, but harboring a crush on a world-renowned football player who you sort of spent your childhood around and is now a professional playing under your dadâs guidance is a wholly unique experience that very few would be able to relate to.
Your history with Soonyoung started when you were twelve and realized with utmost alarm that boys can be cute.Â
You had grown up with an older brother and just that experience alone made you think that boys sucked. But having spent a good chunk of your after-school schedule at the HYBE training facilities meant you were always surrounded by rowdy football players (who smelled and were loud and annoying).
Soonyoung was all of those things, of course.Â
But he was also cute.
The realization was quite unwelcome because you liked turning your nose up at the gaggle of teenage boys who barrelled their way into your dadâs office after training, asking for photos and autographs, going on about a new play they wanted to try, and if heâd let them play forward for the next scrimmage.
Such was the life of the head coach for an Under-18 league team.
But none were as consistent as Soonyoung had been. He was in that office after every single practice; hounding your dad about how he had played, and if your dad saw how he improved, and if your dad could teach him that move from the 2005 cup final.
At first it had baffled you. Soonyoung didnât even play under your dad's guidance. He was just as old as you were and wouldn't be part of your dad's team for another three or so years. One day you gave him a real good look and your eyes hone in on the gloves he had under his arm.
He was a goal keeper.
Playing keeper wasn't a particularly flashy position for most kidsâthe glamor of scoring goals was usually at the top of most's heads. Kids who were put in front of the goal usually groaned and kicked the dirt at the little ball possession they'd get, and of course, not being able to score any goals.
Even you had preferred to play, during your brief football career, what you then considered a more active position of right back.
But Soonyoung wore his keeperâs gloves like a badge of honor and looked at your dad like the second coming of Christ. Which made sense as your dad had been one of the most prolific goal keepers in the Korean league. You donât fault Soonyoung for looking up to your dad like a hero, he was yours as well.
While most of the players leave you be to work on whatever homework you brought to kill time, Soonyoung always bade you goodbye after his little consultation session, always a little rushed and mumbling how he might miss his train back home.
Admittedly now it seems a little bare minimum but you were twelve and no other boy really paid you any mind. Soonyoungâs bright eye smile and sweaty face had been tattooed in your brain since then and you looked forward to his rushed, sweaty, and sweet goodbye almost every day.
All of this comes to mind as you faceplant onto your bed and leave Ddalgi to his own devices. Your convoluted past with Soonyoung swims before your eyes like a movie montage and you canât help but squeeze your eyes shut at your mistakes, lapses, and missed chances. You survived eight years of his professional career without the worry of a WAG coming into the picture but all of that may be at an end at 2AM on a random Sunday.
Sleep had evaded you in the early hours of the morning and what little sleep you did get was subpar.
Thereâs a frown on your face when you jog down the stairs, opting to join your dad in the dining room for breakfast.            Â
âGood morning, sweet peach. Thereâs strawberries and croissants on the table,â your dad greets, briefly looking up from the game of Candy Crush on his iPad.Â
Your squinted eyes finally focus on whatâs in front of you and you perk up.
âOoh my favorite!â You press a kiss to his cheek and observe the simple breakfast spread before you.
Thereâs an open box of strawberries you recognize from the weekend market you visited a few weeks ago. They always run out before youâre able to wipe the sleep from your eyes to try them again.
âWhereâs Ddalgi?â You say, staring at a wall, still a bit dazed as you reach for and bite into a strawberry.
âHeâs outside with Soonyoung,â You stop chewing.
âOh,â you start. Now youâre waking up, âSo I guess the strawberries and the croissants areââ
âYup, Soonyoungâs brought them over.â The way your dad says this all so casually makes you want to scream. He hasnât even looked up from his game.Â
Youâre still bleary-eyed, but you slide open the side door and find Soonyoung and your Golden Retriever on the patio. They turn their heads to you at the same time, both happily munching on something.
âKwon, what are you feeding my dog?â Your heart is racing, your mind suddenly going to the possibility of Ddalgi having eaten something he isnât allowed.
âStrawberries!â Soonyoung gleefully exclaims, raising one in the air, âI found out that they were quite good for them! Whitens their teeth and they have a really healthy enzyme or something.â
âThatâs cannibalism,â you frown as Ddalgi sniffles at Soonyoungâs hand, asking to eat another of his namesake.Â
âBut look, he likes them so much,â You canât help but roll your eyes as you watch Ddalgi charm yet another guest.
You make soft cooing noises at your dog, but he refuses to separate himself from Soonyoung, who is happily plucking the leaves off of the strawberries, popping them into his mouth, and offering them to Ddalgi.
You frown again. Your dog wasnât there when you woke up, meaning you were deprived of your routinary 30 minutes of giving him sleepy kisses and cuddling before mustering enough strength to get out of bed.
You sigh and drop yourself onto a sunchair, crossing your arms over your chest. You werenât wearing a bra.
âWhat are you doing here Soonyoung?â
Heâs trying to avoid your eyes, pretending to squint at the distance, âI was just in the neighborhood and decided to drop off some breakfast.â
âYou live like 10 houses down, youâre always in the neighborhood.â
âTheyâre big houses,â He says in all seriousness, finally meeting your eye.
You try to hold it in, but the second he breaks out in laughter, you canât help but join in.Â
When he catches his breath he says, âI just wanted to make up for last night.â
âLast night?â
âYeah, I just wanted to say that what you saw⊠wasnât what you saw,â he explains poorly.
You nod playfully, putting on a faux smirk, âWhat I saw doesnât matter,â You say, âYour business is your business.â
The reality is that you want to make it your business.Â
Sleep had come with much difficulty the night prior, your heart reminding your head of all the silly interactions youâd had with Soonyoung growing up. You tossed and turned, thinking of how you could have used them to your advantage. To maybe charm him all those years ago. Maybe then you would have been the pretty thing on his arm during team dinners or wearing his jersey during games.
âWhy were you even out that late?â Soonyoung questions, knocking you out of your reverie.
âWoke Ddalgi up while watching a movie,â you explain.
âNew one for The Log?â
The Log was the unofficial horror film log you had started on your Instagram a few years back. You didnât think anyone really paid any attention to that but some of your film buff girlfriends.
âYou keep up with The Log?â You ask, genuinely surprised.
âHell yeah,â He says, eyes lighting up, âI donât have the time to always watch the movies but I like to know what theyâre about. Vernon made us watch that one where they made that girl play Hide and Seek, at the last team dinner.â
âReady Or Not,â you say, providing him with the title.Â
âYeah, that one!â
âItâs a pretty good one. Good choice.â You nod in acknowledgement at his teammateâs superb film taste.Â
âSo do you and Ddalgi always do that?â Soonyoung asks, circling back to the previous topic.
âWhat, 2AM walks? Yup.â
Soonyoung gapes at you then looks to Ddalgi as if heâd understand Soonyoungâs disbelief.
âYeah! All the time, even!â You begin to explain, âHe always has to go out once heâs woken up. It doesnât even matter what time it is.â
You can hear your dad calling for him from inside the house, catching your attention.
âYou should text me,â Soonyoung says all of a sudden.
âWhat?â Youâre genuinely taken aback. You donât even have his number.
âIf you two are going for a walk,â He says earnestly, looking you dead in the eyes, âYou should text me.â
Youâre stunned speechless. Before you even muster up enough courage to say something, he stands up, gives Ddalgi a pat on the head, and goes inside.Â
Youâre too much of a coward to do anything. Too afraid to go inside, knowing heâs in there talking with your dad. You wait until you hear him bid your dad goodbye before you and Ddalgi go back inside to eat the strawberries.
Upstairs thereâs an unread message on your phone waiting to give you the surprise of your life.
Unknown Sender Today 3:49AM
Hey, I'm sorry about earlier!!! It really wasn't what you think bec That was my cousin đ©
Pls the thought of people thinking the two of us are dating makes me sickkkk
R u there
One day youâre going to get told off for just walking about the HYBE Training Center as you pleased but that day will not be today. The perks of having pretty much grown up in this building meant that you almost knew it inside out and upside down. The promotion from âA Coachâs Daughterâ to âThe Manager's Daughterâ is a big one and one you never really thought of taking full advantage of.Â
As you grew a bit older you found your own interests and opted for after school extracurriculars, taking the train home with your friends, and soon, time spent walking through these halls in your school uniform dwindled down to zero.
It makes what youâre doing now a little awkward.
While you werenât skulking around like a creep, this was far from what it used to be. Youâve completely run out of your childish charm that made being a menace around the center cute. Now you were just Mr. Choâs temporary stay at home daughter, much too old to be bringing her old man lunch.
You remember walking next to your father, acting self important and snooty, thinking you were far better than the silly boys who spent hours kicking a ball around a pitch only to net one or two goals a game, and celebrating those goals as if they were playing in the San Siro in Italy. You were all just in Gangnam. Of course this was all to veil the poorly hidden enthusiasm you yourself had for the game. And the players. A player.
Soonyoung.
It isnât uncommon for players to start of their careers in bottom or midrank teams, make a name for themselves, then get transferred to teams in the upper rungs. Several of the Diamondsâ players had such histories.Â
But not Soonyoung.Â
Soonyoung had grown up in these halls probably more than you did. You donât know when exactly he joined the Diamonds but heâs one of the few players on the first team thatâs been here since his grass roots days. Aside from his dedication to the sport, he was without a question, dedicated to the Diamonds.
You suppose some twenty or so years have led to this.
Youâre standing in front of a wall-sized photo of this yearâs squad. Soonyoung is standing proudly at the center with his arms folded over his chest and the Captainâs armband wrapped around his bicep. After the shock and upset that wracked the city upon Seungcheolâs retirement and subsequent abdication from the post of captain, Soonyoung had a heavy burden on his shoulders to get the Diamonds back in action.
It was impressive what heâs done in three years.
âYou never texted me baââ
âOh my fucking GOD!â
You were a second away from caressing poster Soonyoungâs face on the wall when the voice of the real Soonyoung knocked you out of your reverie. You canât see your face but you know youâre beet red and frazzled when you turn to look at Soonyoung who has a jolly smile on his face, eyes forming crescents.
Heâs dressed in training gear, a simplified version of the home kit with the number 1 on the middle of the shirt. Heâs slightly flushed from what may be exertion from the session, hands free of the gloves heâs usually wearing.
âYou canât just do that!â You cry, a hand on your chest to ease your rapid heartbeat.
âSorry, peaches,â He says, the nickname making your ears perk up.
âPlease, not that tiredass nickname.â You canât help but roll your eyes.
Peaches was a family nickname that originated from way back when you were born with no hair on your head but peach fuzz. Your dad had a particular affinity for it and had used it up until now. Everyone else from his close friends to co-workers had taken to the nickname as well and it had become your unofficial Diamonds title.
Now even his players were calling you Peaches.
âItâs a cute name,â Soonyoung says.
âMy dad has a penchant for nicknames, truly,â You begin, âPeaches for me, Hoshi for you.â
Hoshi, Soonyoungâs nickname, had been a moniker bestowed upon him by your father some time in the 2010s. Tigerâs gaze, it had meant. An apt description for how Soonyoungâs eyes sharpen when heâs on the pitch.Â
Heâs become known for it, how he shifts from Soonyoung to Hoshi when the whistle blows, signaling the start of a match. Youâve fallen down a TikTok rabbit hole of these Soonyoung to Hoshi transformation compilations one too many times before. Not that thatâs anyoneâs business but your own.
âWhatâre you doing here? Havenât seen you around here in ages,â Soonyoung says, scratching the back of his head and ruffling his hair. Itâs longer than you remember it being, like he hasnât cut it since the end of the last season.
It looks good.
You hold up the paperbag in your hand, âWanted to surprise my dad with some lunch, but uh, I havenât done this in a while, so I kind of forgot to check his schedule before heading over.â
Soonyoung nods in understanding.
âHeâs skipping the start of morning practice for a meeting of some sort with Seungcheol. He should be back in maybe twenty for the second half,â Soonyoung explains, âWeâre starting back in a while. You should come watch while you wait.â
Watching training sessions had been a weekend pastime. Getting through morning sessions on Saturdays meant lunch out, heading to the mall, or your favorite, seeing a matinee show afterwards. Youâd spent hours sitting around the pitch dedicated for the under-18 teamâs coaching staff with a book in your hands (a mere prop, really), secretly eyeing the cute older boys and, when the fates would permit, the under-15 team playing on the adjacent pitch.
You can picture it in your mindâs eye â Soonyoung and Wonwoo, the two members of the Diamondâs current team who were in the same batch of grassroots players, shoving each other as they walked from the dugout to their teamâs pitch. Theyâd offer a polite nod to your father and his staff, and a small wave to you. The memory makes you smile slightly as you nod at Soonyoung and let him lead you to the main pitch.
Throughout the years, the constant exposure to one another led you to befriend the players that stuck around. It was surface level, but the familiarity is welcome as you really take in how long its been since youâve involved yourself with the Diamonds on a personal level. Despite the teenage angst and the mostly made up agony from those years, you hold them all in your silly little heart dearly.
You suppose its only fair that things have changed since then. When Soonyoung leads you to the main pitch, itâs far bigger than the ones he and Wonwoo used to play on, back when youâd eye them doing drills and blushing when theyâd pull their shirts up to clear their eyes of sweat. Now Soonyoung strides onto the pitch with confidence that comes with years of experience and success under his belt. It looks good on him. It looks right, even.
When you turn to the spectator seats you find yourself met with familiar faces. You can't help the excitement that courses through you as pigtails and pink ribbons run towards you.
âSeunghee-ya!â You squeal as a little girl launches herself into your arms.
Seungcheol, your fatherâs assistant manager and an ex-captain of the Diamonds, had blessed the team with their own little princess four years ago. In no time she had taken to the attention of her uncles and their respective partners like a fish to water. Sheâs what you imagine you were like at four years old and stomping around the pitch in pink cleats and a mini version of the home kit on.
She peppers your face with kisses and you press a big one to her cheek in response and you carry her on your hip. You turn to Soonyoung and find him grinning at the exchange between the two of you.
You canât help but blush before saying, âSorry, its just been so long since Iâve gotten to babysit her.â
The smile on Soonyoungâs face just grows, âNah, itâs fine. I get it. Itâs cute. You both are.â
The flush on your cheeks feels downright painful now as you try to pretend you didnât hear anything Soonyoung had said and instead head towards where Seungheeâs mom is seated with a few other spectators. Soonyoung just follows behind you, not saying a word.
You go up to Seungheeâs mom, Sunhee, and pass her daughter along as you exchange hellos and how are yous. When you meet her eye, she raises a well manicured eyebrow at you then quickly flicks her eyes over at Soonyoung before eyeing you again.
You make a face as if asking her to drop it, but a smile threatens her lips and you cut her off before she says something that might embarrass you further.
âI was going to bring my dad some lunch, but he wasnât in his office and I kind of just ended up wandering around. Hoshi found me is all,â You explain.
âSure.â Is Sunheeâs only acknowledgement before sitting back down with her daughter.
âYouâll be okay hanging out here, right?â Soonyoung says, gesturing to the seats in front of you.
âYup, Iâll be fine. Iâve been sitting at the WAG bench forever,â You joke, before realizing how it sounded and quickly correcting yourself, âI mean, because of my mom! Like, you know, WAG for over twenty five years, and all of that haha! Not that Iâve ever been a WAG? Like imagine that, haha! I wish!â
You want to scream.
Soonyoung just nods and you bite the smile threatening your lips as sit yourself down next to Sunhee.
âThat was like watching a car crash, I couldnât look awaââ
âStooop,â You whine, dropping your head onto her shoulder as Soonyoung walks away.Â
You had been sitting at the WAG bench for ages. Just like little Seunghee is right now, you had accompanied your mother to many of your dadâs training sessions and matches, both when he was an active player and then later on when he became a part of the coaching staff. Itâs only really hitting you now that you were sitting at the WAG bench with no real purpose.
Sunhee and her daughter were her for Seungcheol, and up a few rows you spotted Bang Ahreum sitting in her boyfriendâs lap, giggling. If it were the weekend, and not a random Thursday, youâre sure a few more ladies would fill the seats.
âYouâd make a really cute WAG,â Sunhee says with a giggle, âSoonyoung would agree.â
You canât help the small smile of appreciation at Sunheeâs words, indulging at the little fantasy, but turning towards the slight commotion coming from the players on the pitch as they greet the newcomers of Seungcheol and your father.
You send a big wave towards your dad, catching his attention and seeing him wave and smile back and he walks to you. You fix the little snacks youâd put together in your paperbag and pull one out to hand over to Sunhee with a little wink before standing and dusting off your jeans. You greet your dad with a hug and a kiss to his cheek. He leaves training in Seungcheolâs capable hands, wanting to enjoy the surprise of having you back at HYBE like the old days.Â
The players all wave and bid you two goodbye when a loud, âBYE PEACHES!â comes from the chorus of Jun, Woozi, and Wonwoo by the goal at the far end of the pitch. You turn with a laugh and wave goodbye and catch Soonyoungâs eye from behind his teammates.
He sends a small wave and smile before he makes a phone with his gloved hand and brings it up to his ear, quirking his eyebrow, as if in challenge.
You shake your head and offer a little nod, hoping he sees from where heâs watching you.
âWhat was that about?â Your dad asks with a laugh as well.
You arenât sure and tell him just as much.
If there was ever a time you thought your dad mustâve been clued in in your debilitating crush on Soonyoung, it was when you were sixteen and in need of a date. Being sent to a stuffy all girls school meant you had to deal with all the annoying ceremonials and traditions like classes spent on ladylike dancing and good manners in front of boys.
That was all to be put into practical use in your 10th year, where those in your year were allowed to take part in a charity dinner. It was really just some lame version of American dances that your school had pirated and you had dreaded since entering high school. While it was really a family and friends thing, people really mostly paid attention to two things: what you wore and who your date was.
Most students played it safe by bringing their parents and wearing their momâs jewelry, but it was the perfect opportunity for the upper grades to bring their boyfriends and show off to everyone that they were so cool and mature. You want to say youâre unaffected, but upon hearing that most of your friends were brining people other than their dads, you were starting to sweat.
Despite having been around boys your whole life thanks to your dadâs work, it wasnât like that ever took fruit in any way, shape, or form. At sixteen you had never had anyone show any interest in you aside from asking about your dad or if they could somehow get into the club through your connections.
Your dad had likely warned away any interested guys or set a rule of âhands off my daughter!â from an early age. It wasnât until recently did you find out that your suspicions were somewhat true and the team had a long standing rule that family was off limits, all thanks to Jeonghanâs girlfriend cluing you in.
In addition to that, after youâd started putting more time into your extra curriculars and found hobbies you could be passionate about. Your interest in meeting boys and finding romantic connections simply just didnât register. At this age even Soonyoung was just sitting at the corner of your mind, your crush only making itself known if your dad mentions him in passing.
With the charity dinner coming closer and closer, you were running out of time to look for someone to take you. Your brother and any of his friends were out of the picture, all off to college and too busy to take you to what heâd deem a silly little dance. You had no cousins your age that lived around the area, so that was out of the picture. And unlike your friends, you had zero to no male friends to ring in a favor to.
The realization had dawned over you slowly and torturouslyâwere you so undesirable that no boy would look your way if not for the man you called your dad? Was the only time you could interact with the male species through your after school drama club? It was all so mortifying.
You had explained as such to your mother as you faceplanted onto your parentsâ bed, dumping onto her the woes of being a teenager and the troubles of girlhood that you were merely at the cusp of.
âYou can ask your dad if he has any players who can take you,â She had suggested offhandedly.
Youâd already considered that weeks prior. You knew that some of his players were already making names for themselves in the juvenile leagues and Under-18 National Team. Surely bringing one of those players would have you as the Belle of the Ball. But you quickly shut that down because the only way that would happen was if you asked your dad. That in itself was an embarrassing enough idea that you want to die just thinking about it.
With your mother bringing it up again, you canât help but partially entertain the idea. If she brought it up, maybe it wouldnât be so bad.
During dinner that evening the topic of the Charity Dinner is brought up in the middle of one of your dadâs training stories. He was going on about how close he had gotten with this crop of Under-18s, watching them grow since he became part of the clubâs training staff after his retirement from professional playing.
Soonyoung in particular was growing up to be quite the goal keeper.
You tried to keep your eyes down and trained to your quickly cooling Samgyetang, avoiding either of your parentsâ eyes but it was to no avail as your mom joyfully mentioned the school activity. You didnât need a mirror to know how red your ears had gotten.
âDo you think Soonyoung would mind taking her to the Charity dinner?â
You wanted to drown yourself in the soup when you brother laughed and your dad had coughed.
âYouâre thinking of asking the starting Keeper of the U-18 National Team to take this loser to her pseudo-prom?â Your brother mocked.
You sent him a scathing look as your mother said his name as a warning, âItâd be a good idea! Soonyoungâs a really good boy.â
âIâuh, Iâll check with him,â Your dad had said and that was that.
The days that followed that were torturous but you were hopeful. You couldnât help yourself when you had daydreamed about what kind of night the Charity Dinner would be with Soonyoung on your arm, and you were unable to stop yourself from gushing to your friends about the possibility of a teenage celebrity coming as your date.
Your date.
Your date.
You were over the moon with the realization that your crush was going to be escorting you to this event and that it could possibly a kicking off point for you two to get closer and maybe become something more.
papa đ Today 1:28PM
were you able to asksoonyoung?
Iâll ask him later.
That Monday you had texted your dad.
Training was every day except Fridays and weekends, so you had known theyâd see each other.
Not wanting to sound too eager, you had dropped the subject and thought that youâd allow your dad to his task.
On Tuesday, you had heard nothing.
On Wednesday, you were going out of your mind in anticipation. More and more people were talking about the dinner and your big talk about your date had started to taste ashen in your mouth.
After school you couldnât help yourself as you sent a âDid you ask Soonyoung yet? What did he say?â off to your dadâs number, unable to focus as you mess up the lines in a monologue you knew by heart just last week.
After rehearsals you had felt your heart lodge itself in your throat at you took in the words on your phone, trying to keep the pressure building in your temples at bay.
papa đ Today 2:04PM
did u ask soonyoung yet? what did he say?
I am your dad, not one of your friends. You still need to talk to me with respect.
Soonyoung has a prior commitment on that day and canât attend the dinner.
You felt hot tears well at your eyes as you blinked rapidly to shoo them away and wiped at your face to avoid any questions from your peers.
It didnât help that your dad had picked you up that day, the car ride tense and completely awkward for both of you, youâre sure. You had grasped at straws to make sure the topic of the dinner or of Soonyoung did not come up, your usual How did training go? out of the question. Instead you had lied about how good rehearsals had gone and how happy your moderator was with your performance.
Once you got home you had skipped dinner and cried in the shower while Taylor Swift blared from your iPod Touch.
Drama really was the perfect club for you.
With Soonyoung unavailable, you had decided to go stagâwhich was a perfectly acceptable decision. Still, you felt the sting of rejection as it burned deep in your heart. Your dress was gray, a perfect match for the heavy raincloud that hung over your head, you thought. And though it swayed and flounced perfectly when you twirled, you couldnât help the dissatisfaction painted on your face.
When you had dragged yourself down the stairs, you were already bemoaning how you didnât want to take any photos, but was surprised to see your dad standing at the foot of the stairs, fixing his cufflinks while your mom adjusted his tie. A gray that matched your dress perfectly. You took his arm proudly and smiled for all the photos your mom directed your brother to take.
That night your dad drove to your school in his flashiest car, made a jaw dropping donation, and pretended like he could dance. On his suggestion, you had left the dinner earlier and stopped by a Lotteria instead. You rested your chin on his shoulder while he ordered your usuals and you ate and laughed before heading home.
That night he had pressed a long kiss to your forehead before sending you off to bed.
Mustering enough courage to finally text Soonyoung takes about a week.Â
His number is saved as a conservative Kwon Soonyoung (Diamonds) as if he was a business associate you didn't want to get mixed up with your regular contacts. You stare at the conversation window for longer than than deemed normal, though. You havenât been this nervous to message a boy since you were a freshman in university, that by the time you actually send the message, Ddlagi is whining and anxious to get going.
kwon soonyoung (diamonds) Today 2:04PM
would u happen to be awake ?
Soonyoungâs swift reply almost gives you whiplash because you hadnât expected it to come so soon, or for it to come at all.
kwon soonyoung (diamonds) Today 11:04PM
would u happen to be awake ?
You bet I am
When you look at yourself in the mirror, you find that you're far from what you deem as âSoonyoung worthy.â But when your phone pings with another message, you find that you donât have the luxury of time.Â
It also wouldnât make any sense if Soonyoung ever caught you outside and your âjust woke up like thisâ couture was inconsistent. Right. Baggy hoodie and pajama shorts will definitely have to do.
Youâre kind of at a loss when you read the message as you clip on Ddlagiâs leash and put on a pair of outdoor shoes. Soonyoung becoming your neighbor in the year of our Lord 2023 was not something you considered, and definitely not something you thought would ever lead to tandem dog walking.
But when you open your door, it kind of takes your breath away when you see him, soft and barefaced in his own ratty hoodie and sweats combo, smiling at you from behind the garden gate. This image of him almost rewrites the last ten or so years of his semi-absence in your life, offering a chance to relive some teenage fantasies youâd set aside as impossibilities.
âHi,â comes your small, hesitant whisper of a greeting when youâre standing face to face.
âHi,â he replies simply, a hint of hesitation as well, but heâs smiling, still.
Ddalgi is a bundle of excitement when he sees the newest addition to your night walk and tugs at your arm impatiently, wanting to shower Soonyoung with kisses, the gate between them be damned. It makes Soonyong let out that little laugh that makes you want to die and the small smile he gives you spreads on his face wider at Ddalgiâs joy.
Your delay in texting him had come from the fear of not having anything to talk about. Despite all the years together you werenât always actually together. You worried that the initial connection of being in your dadâs office or within the halls of HYBE has withered away any possible topic for you to broach without it being forced or awkward.
God, you always hated the talking stage. And while thatâs obviously not what this is (you think), you donât want to mess up at least being friends with Soonyoung. And you should have known that would be enough to break the tension with Soonyoung. Conversation comes easily between the two of you with him as a natural people person and you as a natural yapper.
âYou managed to catch the game today?â He starts.
âI managed to catch it in my free time,â You answer coyly.
Partially true. Being in between jobs meant nearly every minute of the day was âfree time.â
âAnd?â He goads.
âAnd what?â
âWhatâd you think!â
âThat late game save was insane,â It seems like youâre laying it on thick but the way Soonyoung preens makes it worth it.
âNah, it was nothiââ
âBut!â You interject.
Soonyoung gives you an incredulous look, âBUT?â
âBut you challenged it too late,â you start, âYou could have definitely gone for the tackle while he was a ways away from the goal.â
âNo way, Kang wouldâve made that shot!â He argues back, heâs amused by your argument but doesnât believe you.
âHe wouldnât have!â You laugh at how badly he isnât taking your criticism. âKang is a right foot kicker, he was coming at you from the far left, the angle was all wrong for him!â
âWhat! How can you do that?â He accuses.
âDo what?â
âSay exactly what coach did,â Soonyoung says as you two walk past the Jangâs and the bush you so unceremoniously hid behind that night.
âNo way,â You say in slight disbelief, âBut that just means Iâm right!â
âIââ Soonyoung starts, âThatâs not the point!â
âSure it wasnât, Captain,â You smirk and let Ddalgi drag you over to the patch of grass by Soonyoungâs own gated property.
âYou should come see the game in person next time youâre free,â He suggests, shoving his hands deep into his hoodie pockets and avoiding your eyes.
His eyes look a little pink from the cold.
âI donât knowâŠâ Just as it was with the training center, you havenât really been as present at the Gangnam stadium as you did when you were much younger.
âOh come on, you used to go all the time when your dad was first made manager!â
You blush at that. You try not to read into it, but thereâs a little bit of a rush that comes over you at the idea of Soonyoung taking notice of you back then, even if it was some 8 years ago and you were probably a completely different person.
âI donât knowâŠâ You say, not wanting to commit to anything, âItâs just been so long and Iâm worried itâll feel a bit awkward just popping up like I did back at HYBE.â
âNo way! Youâve been Diamonds family since like, conception!â He argues.
You give him a pointed look.
âSunhee and Seunghee come a lot, Ahreum tries to make it to just about every game too,â Soonyoung lists down faces youâre familiar with, âAnd I mean, you canât beat the home crowd.â
You canât help the smile that blooms on your face then, âThatâs very true, Captain. You drive a hard bargain.â
He smirks as if to say well, what can I say!
Then he says, eyes trained to the sky, âIf it means anything, Iâd want you to be there too.â
Thereâs a beat of silence.
âYeah?â You ask and he finally looks back.
âYeah.â
âOkay. Iâll come to the next home game.â
Youâre standing by the path that leads straight to Soonyoungâs garden gate and you tut at Ddalgi to head back towards your house as heâs relieved himself while you were conversing with Soonyoung.
âI guess this is where we say goodnight?â You say, walking backward.
âWhat, no way,â Soonyoung says, following you, âIâll walk you home.â
âSoonyoung, weâre literally at your house,â You deadpan.
âYeah, so what?â He waves it off and jogs next to you and following your stride, âI want to walk you home.â

Meet you at your gate
This text becomes Soonyoungâs go-to on nights and early mornings when he joins you and Ddalgi for short walks around the neighborhood. Even with the football season on going and your job hunting taking up both of your daytime schedules, youâve found these walks to be the most sought after moments of your day.
Having these twenty or so minutes with Soonyoung almost everyday feels like some kind of silly dream come true. His presence feels less like something out of the ordinary, and you feel yourself beginning to feel less like youâre fumbling for something everytime you and your dog step out to meet him.
kwon soonyoung (diamonds) Today 9:36PM
No walk tonight?
had his monthly checkups today he's out like a light sorry đ
Nah its cool You still down for a walk though?
bet
Without Ddalgi there to serve as the focal point of your walk, youâre left with little choice but to put all your attention on him. And for someone who's been doing that for most of their pre-teen years, as a twenty eight year old it serves as quite the struggle. Despite your newfound confidence in spending time with him here and there, somehow the air feels a little different this evening.
Soonyoung is set to take off for international duty in a few days and youâre loathe to admit that youâre a little sad that this little growing habit of late night walks was taking a little bit of a break. Youâre lost in your thoughts when Soonyoung, expectedly, breaks the silence.
âIâm happy weâre becoming good friends,â He says.
A little goofy smile comes onto your face. You know itâs a little silly looking because you can feel the corners of your lips twitching as you keep your cool.
âWe are friends, Soonyoung,â You say, âUnless, Iâve been reading things wrong these past like, fifteen years.â
âNo, I mean real friends,â He insists with a bright smile, âLike friends who do stuff together and talk about their interests and stuff.â
Heâs right. Youâve always just been in each otherâs peripheries, but up until recently, you had never really had any real conversations or interactions with each other.
âWe were around each other so much growing up,â He reminisces, âI remember you were always doing homework in your dadâs office or like, reading a book on the pitch. How you could focus, I have no idea. We were so fucking loud.â
You flush at the belated attention. Back then you had done your best to seem aloof and above it all, but the idea that Soonyoung had somehow still seen you is a lot to take in so many years later.
âI guess when you put it like that,â You start, âIt is nice being friends with you after all these years.â
Friends is just the start of what you want with Soonyoung. But at this point you feel like it would be a disservice and dishonest to seek something more from him. You canât imagine what his life must be like, if Soonyoung from sixteen years ago would have ever thought this would be his reality. So you ask him as much.
âIs it hard?â
âWhat is?â He clarifies.
âMaking friends?â
He gives you a funny look, as if heâs not quite sure what youâre getting at.
âI mean as you, you know? Captain of the Cheongdam Diamonds, part of the World Cup team last year, and like, just being a professional player and all of that.âÂ
Soonyoung hums for a bit, considering his answer, âI guess itâs easy for Hoshi.âÂ
Now itâs your turn to give him a confused look.
âEvery season we get new members on the squad and as captain, I become friends with them. Meeting new people at events or work engagements, Iâm able to build good bonds and stuff like that. But I think thatâs Hoshi who's good at it.â
âAnd Soonyoung?â You suggest.
âI think Soonyoung is a little shy,â He laughs, blowing at his hands to keep them warm. You feel your fingers twitch at your sides, wondering what his hands would feel like clasped between your own, your breath warming them up.
âSometimes Iâm still a little shocked and like, astounded that this is my life,â The two of you have gotten to his house now and he takes a moment to take the property in.
Just as many of the other houses and properties in the neighborhood, its quite a house. More modern than those on your street due to how newly developed it is. Itâs definitely something he should be proud of. As the daughter of an ex-professional player, youâre aware of the economic benefits that come with the job.
And Soonyoung is very good at his job.
âDid you always know youâd make it?â You prod, joining him in marveling at his home of just four months.
He lets out a bark of a laugh, âI think I ran towards this dream like I had no other choice. I think I would have rather died than be anything other than me now.â
You turn to look at him and smile, âWell if anyone deserves it, it's you.â
âOh come on, now youâre just laying it on thick.â He says.
âNo way!â You argue, âIâve seen every step youâve taken to get here, Captain. You deserve it.â
âDonât remind me, youâve seen me through just about every goddamn phase Iâve ever been through,â He whines, rubbing at his face in embarrassment, âMy academy days were brutal. Fucking Wonwoo cruised through that shit so smooth.â
You canât help but laugh at the memory of the two of them. While Wonwoo wasnât as permanent a fixture in your fatherâs office as Soonyoung was, you still saw him quite often, with him and Soonyoung stuck at the hip for years.
The left-back had always been tall and lean even as a pre-teen with black hair swooping across his forehead in what was a then-fashionable mop. There were always girls giggling in the stands talking and gushing about Wonwoo. Then you remember Soonyoung who stood next to him with his braces and choppy mullet and soft round cheeks and you canât help but smile fondly at the days gone by.
âI think you did fine on your own.â
Soonyoung shakes his head as if there was no way youâd understand his boyhood woes, âStill, I think twelve year old me would piss himself if he ever found out weâd made it pro, we live in this house, weâre friends with you.â
Your ears perk up at that but you bite the smile threatening your lips, âYeah, whyâs that?â
âOh come on, donât make me say it,â He says, cheeks tinged pink.
âNo! You already said it so I might as well come out with it!â You laugh.
He gapes at you for a second before shutting his mouth, shutting his eyes in embarrassment, then turning to look at you again.
âOkay, for a lot of the guys in my crop of players back then, you were kind of like the first girl we ever knew and wanted to impress, you know? It didnât help that your dad was an actual living legend.â He says, the flush on his face seemingly contagious as you feel a warmth in your face as well.
âShut up, now youâre just gassing me up.â
âNow you canât take the heat?â He laughs as you two continue walking, your heart at ease as you walk past his house and not back towards your own, your walk far from over.
âWell they can all rest easy, Iâm not much to fight over now,â You say lightly.
âWhy not?â Soonyoung says, almost dead serious.
The atmosphere around you feels a little heavier now and you feel as though you must have said the wrong thing. You want to smack your head for feeling a bit too comfortable around Soonyoung to let the thing in the back of your mind rear its ugly head.Â
You always knew your self deprecation was going to kick you in the ass one day.
âItâs nothing!â You panic, âIâm just saying, Iâm nothing to write home about, is all!â
âWhy would you say that?â Soonyoung says, genuinely confused.
âIâitâs nothing, Soonyoung,â You fight to get out, âCan we drop it?â
Soonyoung only nods and allows you the comfort of a change in topic. He talks about their upcoming match against Croatia; how he wishes one day heâll be able to captain at the national level, talking about how well his nickname matches the white Tiger logo of the National team.
Youâre thankful he doesnât bring anything up for the rest of the walk, but it should come as no surprise when he walks you to your gate he speaks up on it.
âIf it's worth anything, I think thereâs something to write home about. Tons. Paragraphs, even.â He says it lightly, jokingly even.
The smile on his face is so radiant that it tickles that little spot in your heart that triggers a smile of your own.
âGoodnight, Soonyoung.â
âSweet dreams!â He shouts as he walks backwards, heading to his own house, as if not wanting to turn away from you until he sees you smile.

ahreum hi! uhhh idk how to say this but soonyoung and i arent dating
girl what
âThat makes absolutely no sense,â Ahreum says, her pretty eyelashes fluttering as she blinks at you in disbelief.
âAhreum,â Sunhee warns as she takes a sip of her coffee.
âBut the lovestagrams!â She cries out.
You donât know what to tell her that wonât disappoint her. Itâs 3PM on a Friday and youâve spent about three hours convincing two extremely well known WAGs that you are not in fact dating Kwon Soonyoung.
Unfortunately.
Grabbing lunch with Sunhee and Ahreum is more intimidating in theory than practice. While worlds apart in their daily lives, they were probably the two most publicized WAGs of their respective generations.Â
Back when Seungcheol had been front and center for the Diamonds, Sunhee had been a permanent fixture at games. She was the WAG for ages with how long she and Seungcheol have been together. She was basically like a cool, funny older sister to you and much of the current squad.
Ahreum on the other hand was an enigma of her own. It should come as no surprise that the Diamondsâ flashiest player would have a girlfriend that matched him in renown. Mingyuâs girlfriend may stand at just five feet tall, but she commanded the room easily with her light presence and sometimes overly excitable energy.Â
Must come with the job of being a top female K-Pop idol.
It should come as no shock that after your brief exchange over text, Ahreum had insisted you change into a cute little springtime dress and took a cab to a lunch spot in Garosu-gil within the hour. She had dragged you away from the maĂźtre dâ the second you arrived to sit you down in front of her and Sunhee. Sheâs been trying to pull out every single sordid detail of your debilitating childhood crush on the Diamondsâ captain and keeper all afternoon.Â
âThey arenât lovestagrams,â You try to argue, âTheyâre just regular, you know, posts!â
âBut they matched!â She cries out, âI was so close to turning on notifications for both of you in case you updated while I was at practice or something!â
âI guess it just happened. We went to some nice places, that's all.â You wished there was something there, but Soonyoung has had a wealth of opportunities if he was interested in you. Heâs had them since you were like, twelve.
âMaybe heâs just shy,â Sunhee offers, âI saw you two at training a few weeks back. There was something there.â
âSomething! Something is good,â Ahreum nods, excitedly, âI can definitely work with something!â
âNoooo,â You whine, âNo working on anything!â
Ahreum flashes you an overly exaggerated frown, âWhy not. You two are so cute.â
You arenât blind to what's been happening. How you once distantly existed to Soonyoung and how rapidly that had grown into this budding friendship. And while it was fun (and at times lovely) to fantasize about what it would be like if it grew into something more, Soonyoungâs admittance that this friendship is something he appreciated keeps you grounded.
âHe just doesn't like me like that,â You say, trying not to sound defeated.
âThis doesnât make sense with my fantasy.â
âIâm perfectly okay with how we are right now,â Lie. âIt took years for me to befriend him like this, so I really appreciate it for what it is.â Truth.
âYears? What!â Now it was Sunhee who was shocked.
âWhat do you mean what!â
âHave you and Soonyoung seriously been, you know, skirting around each other for years?â
You roll your eyes playfully, âWe werenât skirting around each other, Sunhee.â
She gives you a dead serious look.
âIt justâit just never happened!â You blurt out, âI had a silly little teenage crush on him and was too socially inept to do anything about it.â
Speaking it out into the world feels pathetic but itâs also been a while since you were able to let it out. You consider keeping your cards to your chest, but when you look at Sunhee and Ahreum who are both lovely and just want to chitchat, you think it shouldnât hurt to lend your stupid teen years to todayâs gossip session.
So you tell them about your disastrous attempt to have Soonyoung escort you to your Year 10 Charity Dinner and find yourself being able to smile at how melodramatic you were about it. They listen with rapt attention, coo at your antics, and canât help the visceral melting when you retell your dadâs knight in shining armor moment.
âThat shouldnât have kept you away from Soons for so long!â Sunhee considers.
âIt didnât! Not really,â You start, âI think I kind of just had to wake up a bit after that.â
And wake up you did.
After the Charity Dinner you realized you could never show your face back at the HYBE training center, or at least in front of Soonyoungâs squad. There was no way you could sit on the pitch and be perceived by him as Coach Choâs daughter who couldnât get a date and had to pull strings with her dad to get one. And all things considered, even with the nepo baby connections you still showed up with your dad on your arm.
âIf Iâm not mistaken, Soonyoung started playing for my dad that year,â You reminisce, âI was just too embarrassed to be in front of him, you know?â
âSoonie must have hated that,â Ahreum pouts, picking at the croissant on her plate.
You doubt it, really.
âI think,â You start, âI think I never considered being friends with Soonyoung because I was so fixated on like, liking him, even if it was probably just a silly crush, you know?â
âOh come on, it wasnât silly. We all have crushes! Itâs a teen girl thing!â Sunhee comforts.
It is a teen girl thing, you agree. But when you look at the two women in front of you, you canât help but marvel at how they probably cruised through their teen girl crushes. Ahreum had probably just turned twenty when she and Mingyu got together while Sunhee was literally married to her teen crush, having been Seungcheolâs childhood love, their love story a favorite among Diamonds fans.
âWell, silly or not, I was sure he didnât like me back then,â You laugh at the bitterness of years gone by suddenly making itself known, âHe showed up at my schoolâs charity dinner the following year.â
If his rejection of your invite was the final nail on the coffin, showing up with someone else the following year buried you six feet under.
In your 11th year, you and your friends had all decided to go stag and be each otherâs dates, buying matching flowers to pin to your hair and making a whole day out of getting ready together. It was such an exciting way to look at an event that was so bittersweet to you, the unnecessary burn of humiliation still there whenever you thought about the previous yearâs failed attempt to get a date.
The joy lasted for maybe three hours. After all the formalities of a fancy dinner and a charity auction for the parents in attendance, the event turns into a run of the mill dance with a subpar DJ and a makeshift dance floor. Youâd skipped this part the year prior and dancing like a crazy person screaming the lyrics to Best Coastâs Boyfriend to your friends was something you were looking forward to.
You donât get to do either because first of all, you put too much trust in the DJ to play anything other than A Thousand Years and Enchanted. Second would be that, in the midst of all the people in attendance, a face you never thought youâd see in your school gym is suddenly right in front of yours.
Soonyoung was standing there in an ill fitting blue suit and his hair haphazardly gelled down and he was your every silly daydream come to life.
You remember opening your mouth to say something to him, maybe a greeting, a question on why he was there, but you quickly shut it when his attention is pulled away by an upperclassman you werenât familiar with.
When your gazes break, the silence that seemingly engulfed you disappears and you remember where you are and the implications of Soonyoung being there.
Boys were prohibited from campus except on select days you could count on one hand. He had to be there with someone. And that someone wasnât you.
Your hands had grown clammy at the realization and you scramble to get your bearings. When you turn around to run off to the bathroom to maybe cry in frustration, you find yourself face to face with a boy who offers you his hand and a friendly smile.
Your poor self esteem had taken such a beating from that mere shared look with Soonyoung that this hand in front of you had felt like such a kindness. So you graciously took his hand as the opening beats of Boyfriend had come on the shitty gym speakers.

Mingyuâs surprise birthday party was being held at this swanky private speakeasy that was a favorite of the Diamondsâ striker according to Ahreum.
Initially you had felt discomfort when you arrived. You had come down the stairs and was immediately greeted by the smiling face of Ha Yves. You didnât know who would be considered as party guests for people as popular and famous as Ahreum and Mingyu, but you shouldnât have been surprised if they were all celebrities or A-Listers.
The room was filled with the members of AMâĄRE still scuttling around, adding finishing touches to the long table in the middle of the room. Despite the burning feeling of being out of place, you couldnât help the smile that had spread on your face watching these celebrities put on a surprise for a friendâs birthday.
You suddenly feel unprepared for the evening, your usual extroverted flourish having diminished quite a bit lately.Â
The group is quick to greet you with a squeal of âUnnie!â and Choi Yena, who youâre familiar with, gives you a quick squeeze of a hug. The warm welcome eases your mind, introductions are given and you tell them youâre at their disposal with the decorating.
You quickly learn that this evening is a private affair of friends and family as more of Mingyuâs friends arrive, players from other teams that youâre familiar with, Ahreumâs brother being one of them. The implication of you being a part of that classification makes the pleasant feeling in your stomach grow, and the weight of imposition lifts from your shoulders.
Youâre standing on a chair and holding up a gold foil balloon, helping Yves decide on the best placement when a bellowing âAMOOOOOOREEEEâ cuts through the music playing through the speakers.
You bite your lip to stop the smile attempting to split your face in two.
Yves abandons you to go on and play the good leader and greets the members of the squad who were able to come, giving fist bumps and quick high fives. After the typical niceties, Soonyoung catches your eye, and laughs.
âWhatâre you doing all the way up there, Peaches?â He walks up to you, eyeing you from head to toe, and sending warmth throughout your body following the same path, âIf you fall from there, youâll be out for the rest of the season.â
The smile wins this round. You roll your eyes as he offers you a hand to help you down.
You pray your hand isnât sweaty as you take his hand in yours, trying to step down as gracefully as you can without flashing the whole room. Your skirt much too short for standing on chairs even with the stockings you (thankfully) decided on last minute. You steady yourself with a quick grip on Soonyoungâs shoulder with your other hand.
Once youâre safely on the ground you flash him a thankful smile as you let go of his hand and shoulder.
âYou good?â He asks, voice now a little quieter, only for you to hear.
You offer him a small nod, âYeah, all good now. Better now.â
The rest of the night goes according to, if not better than, planned. Mingyu had jogged down the stairs with Ahreum and played the part of shocked boyfriend perfectly, beaming at her as she pulled the string of a party popper. He planted the biggest kiss onto her awaiting lips as you and the rest of the guests hooted at their PDA.
Mingyu flipped everyone off mid-kiss, of course.
You found yourself seated shoulder to shoulder with Soonyoung on your left and Vernon to your right, while Wonwoo sat in front of you. Youâd spent the majority of the evening discussing films with the two of them while Soonyoung remarked about ones heâd yet to see, saying, âWe should add that to our list.â
The list being an ever growing shared note on the Notes app on both your phones with a working list of movies you think he needs to watch.
âDude, just get a Letterboxd account,â Vernon suggests.
âI said that too!â You laugh.
âHaha, okay laugh all you guys want,â Soonyoung says, attempting to stand up for himself, âBut I just figured that shared note thing out and that works just fine for us, thank you!â
You elbow him playfully and he sticks his tongue out in retaliation.
âIâm getting another Coke, Wons you want one?â Soonyoung asks as he downs the last of his soda.
âNah, Iâm good. Iâll get another later.â
He turns to you, âAnother daiquiri, passenger princess?â
You flush as he pretty much announces to everyone who was paying attention that you were coming home with him. Well, technically just riding his car to his house then walking on foot to yours as has become your routine from nights out.
âNo, I think Iâm good for tonight.â The realization that you were going to be seated next to him on the way home quickly sobers you up. There was no way you could get sloshed now.
He nods in understanding as he undrapes his arm from around the back of your chair and gets up.
Vernon has been pulled into a conversation by the other end of the table and you find yourself sitting in comfortable silence with Wonwoo.
Soonyoungâs best friend has become a more familiar presence in your life just as much as Soonyoung himself. Itâs nice, you think, getting to know the quieter half of this duo youâve known for so long.
You learned that Wonwooâs not really all that quiet when Soonyoung is there to prod and pick on him, and that Soonyoung is so much more easily humbled with the keeper of all his secrets present.
âYou two look like a couple,â Wonwoo says after a while.
You gawk at him, unable to think of a quick enough retort.
âJust say, âthank you, Wonwooâââ He says with an easy laugh, quoting himself from a few days ago.
Now you scowl, âTake that back, Wonwoo!â
âWhy? Itâs the truth!â He argues, âI donât think either of you notice how close you two always are.â
âWe are not!â
âYou canât tell because youâre too busy ogling my best friend. I can because you guys keep asking me to come hang out with you two so it seems like youâre not out on a date!â Thereâs a smile on his face and while heâs accusatory, Wonwoo seems to get some joy out of pointing out your glaringly obvious crush on Soonyoung.
âYouâre delusional,â you attempt to argue and Wonwoo can only sputter at you.
âTakes one to know one?â He retaliates.Â
Before you can stick your tongue out at him, pulling a card from Soonyoungâs repertoire of moves, the far end of the table starts to sing Happy Birthday.
Soonyoung is precariously carrying a two tier birthday cake and a beer pint filled to the brim with ice and Coke as he yells out the words to Happy Birthday. Heâs beaming as he presents the cake to Mingyu and Ahreum urges Mingyu to make a wish.
He closes his eyes quickly, makes quick work of blowing out all the candles and giving Ahreum a kiss on the cheek.
Soonyoung cheers the loudest again and almost drops the cake as he sets it down on the table. His antics makes the rest of the guests laugh but next to him Yves, playfully whacks him on the shoulder and chastises him with a litany you canât hear from where youâre seated.
Soonyoung bats his eyes at her and pouts cutely, no doubt attempting to ease her annoyance. You feel the blood draining from cheeks as the green monster of jealousy creeps up behind you and you avert your eyes from the scene.Â
When you turn back to your drink, now more water than strawberry daiquiri, you catch the look on Wonwooâs face.
Thereâs a devious little smirk on his silly little cat boy face and you want to slap it off of him.
âQuit it, Jeon.â
âI donât know what you mean, Cho.â
âI mean that look on your face,â You say with an index finger wagging in front of his glasses, âI donât like it.â
âI donât have a look on my face,â He laughs as he sips on his glass of Coke.
âYes, you do! It's a sneaky little face,â you pout, âDonât you have your own love life to worry about?â
His smirk grows into a full on grin, his teeth on full display, âFirst of all, no I donât. And second, so you admit it? Youâre in love with Soonyoung.â
Your heart is pounding in your ears. You donât dare to say anything out loud for fear of who might hear because you donât know what to say.
âWonwoo Iââ
âYou know, you donât have to worry about that,â he says, âYou donât have to worry about anything. Not with Soonyoung. Never with Soonyoung.â
Not long after everyone had their fill of the cake Ahreum lovingly baked for the occasion, people started splitting off into their own little groups around the bar to talk or have more drinks. Still, you were seated next to Soonyoung, but this time making a conscious effort to keep a comfortable distance between you two. His arm may still be draped around your chair, but this time you rested your crossed arms on the table in front of you, trying your best to stay focused on the story Heejin was telling.
You almost jolt in shock at the warm hand that rests on your knee and the breath at your ear when Soonyoung whispers, âLetâs go ahead?â
When you turn to him and try not to flinch at the close proximity between the two of you.
âYou look like youâre about to nod off,â he chuckles.
Humming and nodding in agreement with him, Soonyoung clears his throat and announces, âYou guys keep going but weâre headed out.â
Thereâs a chorus of disappointed âawwsâ that follow as the two of you stand and Soonyoung helps you into the coat you brought for the cold. When you turn to wave goodbye to everyone still at the party, you see Wonwoo giving you a shit eating grin and you fail to stop yourself from sticking your tongue out at him one last time that night.
âDâyou have fun tonight?â Soonyoung asks, eyes flicking over to you for a second before turning back to the road before you.
âHhm, yeah. Iâm glad I went,â You say, âI almost bailed for a second.â
âYeah? Whyâs that?â
You consider for a moment if you should tell Soonyoung about your afternoon before the party. But you worry that maybe trauma dumping on him after having had such a good evening with his friends and teammates would sour the day. So you keep your mouth shut and try to wrack your brain for an acceptable reason to turn down an invite.
âI bombed at practice today,â He says out of nowhere but lightly, with a bit of a chuckle, and you know that a corner of his lip is upturned.
The focus you put in trying not to turn your head and watch him drive is commendable. You try your utmost best not just keep your eyes on him as he does the most mundane of things.
âGot into trouble for it, your dad yelled at me and all. Said I wasnât focused.â He clicks his tongue, shakes his head and continues telling you about his day. âIt didnât get better of course, âcause I started overthinking it and I got worse. But you know what?â
âWhat?â You ask, finally looking over at him as he pulls to a stop at a busy intersection.
The red glow of the traffic light streams in through the carâs windshield despite the heavy tint and washes Soonyoung in a moody glow, only cut by the flashing lights of the LED billboards that are so commonplace in Gangnam.
âIt ended,â He says as he turns to you as well, the red light offering him a respite, âTraining ended and I got in my car and drove over to that speakeasy. I celebrated my teammateâs birthday, had a bunch of laughs with my friends, and now Iâm driving you home.â
âTomorrow, Iâll go back to training and try again. And if it doesnât work out, Iâll talk to your dad again and ask for his help. And when that ends, Iâll come home and Iâll probably ask you if you want to go for a walk.â
He ends all of that with a big, bright, beautiful smile that makes your lower lip wobble. Soonyoung is so wonderful and your heart feels so vulnerable. Youâre worried that you might end up going off on a litany about how your school girl crush from nearly sixteen years ago had awoken from its dormant slumber on a chilly evening in March, and was wreaking havoc in your heart and brain as it fed on every right and perfect thing Soonyoung had said to you since then.
But you keep it in.Â
Instead you let out a shudder of a breath and tell Soonyoung about your day.
âI feel like Iâm running out of time,â You start, âWhich is stupid because Iâm like, twenty eight and probably not dying soon, and I know you probably wonât get it because youâve had a career since you were like, nineteen, and thatâs why I donât think I wanted to get into it with you but also because I donât want you to think about how pathetic I am.â
Saying all of that in one breath almost has you panting, but more than anything, itâs that worry youâve been trying to bury in your chest all these weeks, pretending you were above it all, thatâs been weighing you down.
âYou know how Iâve been trying to get a new job right?â
He makes a sound of agreement, not wanting to cut you off while you were clearly in the middle of a tirade.
âWell, I feel like Iâve been floundering, you know? I put in all these applications and I do the interviews, and I do great because I know I can turn it on when I have to but itâs just such a fucking drag!âÂ
You know youâre whining but youâve already started and everything is coming out like a tidal wave from your mouth.
âIâve been at this for months and today I got an email that sounds really promising but I still havenât really gotten hired and I feel like Iâm going around in circles with these companies, trying to convince them Iâm the shit but itâs not like I really care all that much about them, really.â
âI just donât want to keep wasting my time doing nothing and being no one.â
Silence. Breathe in, breathe out.
âThen I kind of got into it with my dad this afternoon,â You finally let out, âI was⊠I was planning to come see you at practice today. And he kind of, I donât know⊠He kind of told me I couldnât be there. That it was private practice today and that none of the girls were going to be there either and that⊠that maybe I was overstaying my welcome when I had no affiliation with the Diamonds.â
Soonyoungâs gripping the steering wheel firmer, from what you can tell and you want to ease his mind, but your own was aflame with the indignation you had felt that afternoon.
âI thought about skipping on Ahreumâs invite because well, I didnât know who would be there, but I knew Ahreum and I kind of know Mingyu, and I knew that place was going to be chock full of beautiful, famous, successful people, and I just didnât know if I could handle that after everything, you know?â
You donât realize that youâve made it all the way home throughout your tiny meltdown and Soonyoung has been idling in front of your familyâs garden gate for a minute or two.
âThen?â Soonyoung prompts.
âWhat do you mean?â Youâre confused.
âThen what happened?â He clarifies.
âWhat do you mean âthen what happened?â Soonyoung you were there,â You point out with an arched brow. Youâre a little peeved.
âJust play along, Peaches. Donât be a soil sport,â He encourages.
âFine. Then I got dressed and went straight to Mingyuâs party. I helped set up, and then you guys arrived, and we had dinner and drinks, and talked about movies, and⊠we got in your car, and we talked, and now youâre dropping me off at home.â
âI think our days turned out pretty okay in the end,â Soonyoung says with a gentle smile.
Oh.
Oh.

ddalgi misses you ig :/ come back from jeju fasterrrrr
Yes maam! And I'll make sure we win too Don't want to upset Ddalgi with a poor showing
of course he'd be so upset
This weeks feels like its going by sooooo slowly Will you be at the gala?
hate to say it but ya
I'll see you then :)
The gala Soonyoung had mentioned was the Gangnam District Arts Gala. The exclusive gala was to be televised live and the guestlist was filled with brand execs, celebrity performers, and A-List socialites.Â
The press release was that they were pledging obscenely large donations to uplift the arts and encourage the young, creative minds of students in schools with underdeveloped arts programs. It was a fairly new development and was something that you felt was just an excuse for rich people to dress up, drink, and bask in each otherâs wealth.
Initially the idea of an entire sports team and their managers and staff being a part of such an event was uncommon. You understood if a handful of the first team was present, personalities that were instantly affiliated with big name brands like Mingyu, Minghao, Jeonghan, and even at times, Soonyoung. All the connections with the Diamonds instantly made sense when you found out the brains behind the operation.
The whole thing was planned under the watchful eye of Choi Seoah, Seungcheolâs business-mogul younger sister and Jeonghanâs girlfriend.Â
If you paid more attention to local entertainment news youâd be more aware of how Seoah wanted this gala to be a âfamily affairâ and having her childhood team and Gangnam representatives, the Cheongdam Diamonds, to not only attend but also co-host the event was her goal.
You hated it as soon as you heard about it, only to somehow be roped into it last minute.
All of that led to you sitting next to your dad at the dinner table, waiting for the team to arrive from their red carpet appearance. As your dadâs (begrudging) plus one, you were free from being in front of the public eye, with the coaching staff opting to come through a different entrance. But with the first team being the eventâs hosts, they were considered one of the highlights of the evening.
There was a commotion as soon as they stepped inside the venue, and rightfully so. You knew these events were always somehow about the fashion, and even you werenât exempted from the frills and frivolities of looking good for an evening. But nothing could have prepared you for how Soonyoung would be dressed this evening.
If there was ever an expert at having their breath being taken away at the sight of Soonyoung, you would certainly be a credible candidate. Soonyoung was dressed in smart pinstripe pants and a blazer speckled with sparkling gems, but the focal point of his look had been the sheer black tank top he was wearing underneath. You had felt your throat go dry and the hairs on your arms raise when he came through the doors and the team was led to their seats.
You spend much of the night willing Soonyoung to look your way, but with him being the captain of the team meant to be the figureheads of the event, heâs got his hands full speaking to other honored guests and VIPs wanting to get a chance to meet him.Â
Thereâs a pit in your stomach where jealousy collects and starts to overflow everytime a beautiful, statuesque woman comes close to him, whispers in his ear for him to hear her better, and laughs at his jokes. You know theyâre funny, and whatever joke it is, youâre sure youâve heard it before and laughed harder.
The silliness of your mindset looms over your head like an angry cloud and you canât help as it sours your mood even when Ahreumâs girl group comes on to perform their latest song. When it ends she forgoes sitting back with her group and you catch her slipping away with Mingyu as you had excused yourself to go to the ladyâs room.
Your neck feels stiff from having to crane it to get a decent view of Soonyoungâs table the whole night but being outside of the main venue gives you a second to breathe and for you to ease your mind. When you spot a line leading out of the closest bathroom, you decide it and opt to look around the intricately designed foyer. You empty your mind as you run your gloved finger along the edge of a gilded art frame, glistening under the flickering light of a nearby decorative candle.
âI told you Iâd find you,â comes a voice from behind you that spooks you so bad, you tip the decoration you were toying with off the edge of the table.
His years of practice honing his reflexes kick in and Soonyoungâs able to catch the frame before it crashes to the ground. He places it back on the table carefully, no one the wiser about its almost demise.
âWhat did I say about coming up behind me like that, Soonyoung!â You chastise raising a hand to slap him playfully on the chest. You stop short when your eyes catch his outfit once again and how you could see his skin so clearly even through the opaque black fabric.
Soonyoung catches your hand mid air and brings it to his lips, pressing them lightly against the silky fabric of your gloves and looks down at you, âYou clean up good, peaches.â
Your skin burns so hot you feel sweat start to dot the back of your neck and you tear your hand away from him. You pretend to be unaffected, giving him a playful roll of your eyes, âYou havenât even seen the half of it yet, Kwon.â
The two of you have found yourselves in a quieter hallway, away from prying eyes and smartphones with a million megapixel cameras. Itâs been about a week since youâve seen each other and the weight of the albeit short time away from each other lifts from your mind.
âHave you been good?â
âMmhhm,â You hum, âBetter now.â
As much as you wish you could whisk him away from the party forever, you know you have to give him back to his teammates. To your surprise, Soonyoung pulls up a chair from a vacant table next to theirs and situates it right next to where he sits down.
You gawk at him for a second, unsure if you could fuck up the seating arrangement at a whim, but before he says anything, a tall elegant woman situates herself on Jeonghanâs lap and drapes a slender arm around his shoulders.
âSeoah, this is Mr. Choâs daughter,â Jeonghan says and you straighten up with a start, offering your name and hand for his girlfriend to shake.
âFinally, we meet properly!â She says with a tinkling laugh, âHannieâs told me all about you and Soonie. Come, sit!â
Upon her insistence you situate yourself on the chair Soonyoung had pulled up just as Ahreum and Mingyu arrive at the table, panting, and Ahreum having changed out of her performance costume into a pretty pale pink dress, her hair flowing down her back in pretty waves.
When she notices you seated at the table, she lets go of Mingyuâs hand to run over to you with a hug and a squeal of âUnnie, youâre here!â
Had Seungcheol and Sunhee been in attendance, thereâs no doubt they would be seated at this table with the rest of you, and it comes to you belatedly that you were seated at the WAG table. Weeks earlier and you might have been uncomfortable at that fact, displeased with being out of place, but the longer you think about it, the more you wished that it could be the norm for you.
Youâd been toying with the idea in your mind for a few days now, that maybe, just maybe, you did want to be a WAG. Maybe whatâs been going on between you and Soonyoung wasnât just a friendship that was long delayed.Â
Maybe, just maybe, it was okay to indulge in the prospect of Soonyoung reciprocating your feelings, and that this long standing crush was no longer unreciprocated.
The conversation between you and the rest of the tableâs occupants was light and fun and with Seoah calling for more champagne every so often, you felt the tension at your shoulders melt away. Even when your father had dropped by, asking if youâd be riding back home with him, you smiled at him brightly, saying youâd find your own ride back.
You donât miss the nod and salute Soonyoung gives him from beside you.
When you let out an unintentional yawn, the alcohol making your eyelids droop slightly, Soonyoung pushes back the sleeve of his blazer to check the time.
âWe can head out if you want,â He says, âIâm sure Ddlagiâs waiting for us.â
Your heart soars at his words. You nod at him and stand as he holds his hand out to pull you up.
âAlright, thatâs a wrap for the two of us,â He says, tugging off his blazer jacket, âIâll see you guys on Monday. Ahreum, Seoah, lovely as always.â
Alarm bells are ringing and sirens are blaring in your head as Soonyoungâs bare arms come into view and you can see how the muscles of his back and stomach move beneath his skin as he waves and motions for you to follow him.
Soonyoung goes up behind you, steadying you in your heels, and places his blazer over your bare shouldersâthe heat from his clothing warming you up in a split second. Ahreumâs giggle from behind you catches your attention and you manage to see her wink from the corner of your eye.
âBye, everyone!â You greet, âThanks for letting me crash your table.â
âAny time, lovely!â Seoah says with a flippant wave of her hand, âIâll try to make it to lunch with you girls next time, please be there!â
âHave fun, unnie!â Ahreum calls out and you donât know whether to smile or curse her as you and Soonyoung walk away.
âI like sitting with the WAGs,â You say kind of mindlessly as you stare out of the window, watching as Gangnam passes you and Soonyoung by.
âYeah?â He says, encouraging you to go on.
âYup,â You say with a pop, âIt feels like Iâm part of a sisterhood or something when Iâm with them.â
âYeah, they all got really close in no time, especially when Tiny came into the picture,â Soonyoung recalls, âSeoah and Sunhee are pretty much sisters now, so it was exciting for them to have someone new join in.â
âI hope theyâll welcome me as warmly,â You blurt out.
Fuck. Idiot.
Thereâs a beat of silence and you feel yourself floundering as if you were underwater.Â
âWhat do you mean?â Soonyoung asks, cutting into the silence.
You keep your eyes trained out of the window, willing him to let it the fuck go, but you know he wonât.
Heâs about to turn to your street and you consider for a split second if itâd be feasible for you to jump out of his Maserati right this very second and hide under your sheets. Soonyoung does you a kindness by not saying anything until he pulls up in front of your house, saving you the awkwardness of having to walk home with him from his house like you usually do.
You try to quickly unbuckle your seatbelt but the second you turn your head to look for the button to press, Soonyoung gently takes your chin in between his fingers and brings your face closer to his.
In this position thereâs no way for you to escape his gaze and under it you feel like youâre on fire.
âIâll ask again,â Soonyoung starts in a whisper, as if he spoke any louder that bubble that surrounded you would pop and shatter this very moment, âWhat did you mean?â
This close and you can take him in, really look at him, smell him, breathe him.
âI mean,â you say slowly, gathering all the nerves you can muster, âThat I want to sit on the WAG bench and cheer your name during games. I want to wear your jersey and have you dedicate saves for me.â
You gulp as you feel yourself grow in conviction, âI want to hold your trophies with you at the end of the season and bad mouth refs who give out shitty calls when you have to deal with a penalty. I want it all, Soonyoung. I want it with you.â
There it was, laid out in front of him, plain as day and no way to misinterpret. Your silly teenage fantasies had followed you into adulthood and had grown into real life yearning, hoping that the boy you had watched grow up into the most wonderful man would just take you out of your misery and say yes, that he too had felt the same tugging at his heart when he was around you.Â
Soonyoungâs silence was killing you as the seconds felt like hours but when his fingers twitched beneath your chin, your heart gave off a thunderous thump, and he pulled you in closer, and your eyes slipped shut.
You let out a breath through parted lips and you feel the warmth of Soonyoungâs own shaky exhale on your lower lip. Just as you feel his lip press against your ownâ
âIâm sorry, I canât.â
In a flash your eyes fly open and you pull yourself away from him. Soonyoung is shellshocked at the speed at which you put distance between the two of you and how you scramble to successfully free yourself from his presence.
âWaitâwait a second, listen to me!â He tries to say, but everything sounds like a garbled mess to you.
You feel like youâre underwater again, your nose flaring as you try to get as much air into your lungs. You can feel your lips turning downwards and the telltale wobble of your lower lip. The heat and sting from behind your eyes tell you that youâre seconds away from falling apart.
How stupid. How stupid to think that after all this time he would see you as anything other than his coachâs daughter. His coachâs stupid, pathetic daughter who couldnât do anything right, couldnât achieve anything even after all this time.
When you free yourself from the mess of the seatbelts and youâre able to wrangle the door of his car open, you stomp out, nearly tripping over yourself in your stupid heels. Soonyoung gets out as well and tries to call out to you without causing a scene.
Youâre about to open the gate to your house when you realize youâre still wearing his blazer. Youâve grown comfortable in it and the warmth of him, and it's agony as you rip it off, turn around and throw it in his face.
âGo fuck yourself, Soonyoung.â
You expect your anger and grief to fuel a tirade but you find yourself moving so slowly and so cautiously around your own home. You had guided the front door shut so that only the clicking of the locks and the springs in the knob disturbed the silence. You pressed your back against the door and held your breath as you watched the shadows move on the walls as Soonyoung pulled out of your familyâs driveway.Â
Only when you were doused in darkness could you slowly exhale.
You feel so much smaller than you are as you tiptoe up the stairs, clutching your heels to your chest, and lifting the skirt of your dress. You had felt so beautiful tonight, only to come home feeling more rotten and ugly than you ever have in your life.
When you close your bedroom door behind you, you turn to the Golden Retriever curled up by your pillows and you sniffle. Then the first tear drops when you think of how youâre supposed to let Ddlagi know that Soonyoung wonât be coming over anymore. You bury your face into Ddalgiâs coat and allow the sobs to wrack your body.
You had always thought it would be beneath you to cry over a boy.Â
Feeling disappointment, anger, or sadness you would understand, it would only be normal to do so. But you felt like your body was caving in on you, the embarrassment of his rejection, the idea that you had misread all the queues, that you were deluded this whole time, thinking that maybe after all these, you would finally be worth a second thought to Soonyoung.
While the thought of losing him as a lover hurt you, the idea that you may lose him as a friend forever after what you had done has you shedding more tears. You took bits and pieces of every walk youâd been on, every movie you watched, the dinners you ate, and hid them away in your heart because you had longed for Soonyoung for so long, that all these moments were truly treasured.
But youâre also angry.
Youâre angry because you know there must have been something. Sunhee had seen it that day when you came to practice, Ahreum had thought you were a couple just from photos, and Wonwoo, Wonwoo had reassured you that with Soonyoung you hadnât a thing to worry about.
Have you all misunderstood? It couldnât have all been in your head. Some part of it must have been true, and maybe still is.Â
Your anger sets you into motion. Despite having been the one to walk away in anger, you feel like maybe you were entitled to an explanation. If you were going to cut Soonyoung off from your life from here on out, you wanted to do it on your own terms.
In the shower, you worry that you were speedrunning through the stages of grief. From how immensely you felt for Soonyoung and for just how long youâve been carrying a torch for him. For the chance that heâd look your way and think of you as someone more than just your fatherâs daughter who had watched him from where she sat doing her homework.
You want to yell at him. You want to curse him and shove him and tell him how much you felt for him. Maybe that way he would understand how much he hurt you.
You dress quickly and haphazardly, not caring how you look, because youâve let him see you look worse in the past weeks, grown so comfortable in his presence to truly be yourself around him. All your past actions feel like double edged swords. On one hand you were elated, so taken with how things had panned out before this evening and on the other, you felt the dread of regret, of sharing so much of yourself, and so willingly, to someone who could walk away without a second thought.
As you rush down the stairs you childishly you wonder if your father could kick him off the team for breaking your heart.
You make a conscious effort to close up after yourself quietly, guiding the door shut gently, just as you had earlier that evening. When you turn around, your heart falls to your stomach at the sight before you.
Soonyoung stands in front of your gate looking just as he did that first night he walked with you and Ddalgi. Soft, barefaced, and dressed in a ratty hoodie and sweats, you find your false bravado whittling away in his presence. His ability to render you speechless felt so unfair but you canât help but acquiesce to it as you always do.
You loved him like this, just him, the him you had grown so used to and so comfortable around, and so in love with.
You love him, you love him, you love him.
And thatâs why you donât stop him when he unlatches the gate and walks up towards you. You donât stop him when he goes to stand right in front of you, towering over you and bowing his head to be closer to you. You donât stop him when he takes your face into his hands, tilting it ever so slightly so your eyes are locked. You donât stop him when he uses his thumb to wipe away at a stray tear that betrays the strong front you wanted to put on.
You donât stop him when he says, âIâm sorry for what I did. And Iâm sorry if this is selfish, but Iâll never forgive myself if you think I donât want you, that you donât fill my every fucking waking moment, that I could let you walk away like you did.â
Your chin is trembling with the effort of keeping yourself together but a ragged sob escapes your mouth as you try to make sense of what Soonyoungâs saying.
Your chin is trembling with the effort of keeping yourself together but a ragged sob escapes your mouth as you try to make sense of what Soonyoungâs saying.
The hard look of determination on his face softens at your reaction and he shushes you, tries to ease your thundering heart but how can you when he says, âI have wanted you for so long. How could you not have known?â and finally presses his lips to yours.
Soonyoung was fifteen when he got the shock of his life
He was in the middle of a scrimmage game against the other members of his squad when he caught Coach Cho Woonjae coming down from the second pitch. His hands were already sweating in his gloves but he felt flames lick at his feet, willing himself to move quicker, react faster, anything to catch the attention of the living legend that was walking his way.
They wrapped up the game with his team managing a 1-0 win, extending his scrimmage clean sheet record. He made a show of cheering his team on, clapping them on the back and showering them in praises.
Wonwoo had raised a skeptical brow at him, clearly having noticed his odd behavior.
âYouâre scaring me,â Wonwoo commented as he rubbed the sweat from his eyes.
âFuck off,â Soonyoung laughed, âCoach Cho is watching.â
Soonyoung was eager for their coach to wrap up their training, he had wanted to go up to his idol so badly, to ask him if he saw how he played, if he had improved in any way, or if he had any wisdom to impart from one goalkeeper to another.
It turned out that Soonyoung didnât have to do anything at all. Once the final team huddle had dispersed, Coach Cho had come over to Soonyoung himself, clapping him on the back and greeting him with a âGood job today, Kwon.â
Soonyoung tried his best not to sputter, gave him a curt bow of his head and said, âThank you so much, Coach. I learned from the best. I meant from you! Because, you know, youâre the best.â
Iâm a fucking idiot, Soonyoung thought to himself.
Coach Cho could only laugh at his blunder and offered him a thanks, son, so at the very least Soonyoung could take pride in having been funny. But when his laughter died down, he had affixed Soonyoung with a look that had been, at that time, unreadable.
Then, with no preamble, Coach Cho asked him if he could take his daughter to a school dance.
When he stumbled into the locker room, the rest of his teammates were already undressing, pulling out toiletries from their lockers and a fresh change of clothes. Soonyoung was still shell shocked when he sat down next to Wonwoo, body moving on autopilot as he dodged gangly elbows and stray towels being tossed around.
âWhatâd Coach Cho say to you?â Wonwoo asked in a hushed voice.
âHe asked me if I could take Jiae to a dance. I-if I could be her date.â
Wonwooâs jaw had dropped comically, not having expected that.
âWell?â He had urged.
Soonyoungâs eyebrows furrow, âWhat do you mean well?â
âWell what did you say, dumbass?â He asked with a flick to Soonyoungâs to ear.
âIââ Soonyoung had trouble voicing it out, because now that he was repeating it, it sounded even more stupid than when he had blurted it out to Coach Cho, âI said I couldnât.â
âWhat?!â Wonwoo had yelled, pulling the attention of some of the players sitting by them.
âI canât go that day,â Soonyoung had tried to reason out, but the more he thought about it, the more he regretted saying no so quickly.Â
âWhat could you possibly be doing that is somehow more important than taking Coach Choâs daughter to a dance?â
Soonyoung drops his head into his hands, groaning out an answer.
âWhat was that?â Wonwoo taunted.
âI said, Iâm getting my braces out.â
Word of Coach Choâs request had spread amongst the Under-18 and Under-15 team like wildfire and Soonyoung had never felt so embarrassed in his life. Not because it was embarrassing to have been asked, but because he had said no.Â
But for many of those he had called teammates, it had become a running joke that maybe they too would be tapped to take you to this school dance, and it made Soonyoungâs blood boil at how crass the thoughts of some of his teammates were.
âI still canât believe you said no,â Youngho had said to Soonyoung when he had dropped his backpack onto the bench in front of his locker.Â
Soonyoungâs shoulders were heavy with the fatigue from his commute from school and this was the last thing he wanted to deal with. He wanted to run a few laps, do a few drills, then pummel whoever his team was playing against during the scrimmage to the ground.
His teammateâs thoughts and comments were far from what he wanted to deal with that day.
Wonwoo had given him a warning look, to just ignore it and move on, and against his usual instinct, Soonyoung followed his best friendâs advice.
âDude, imagine if you had said yes and like, impressed her or whatever.â Youngho had started up again, âYouâd probably make it all the way to the first team on Choâs good graces alone.â
But there was only so much that Soonyoung could stomach.
âAnyway, Iâm sure Choâll ask someone else after practice tonight,â Youngho continued, âShe must really want to fuck a footballer or something.â
He doesnât think heâd ever moved so fast in his life, but within seconds Soonyoung had Youngho up against a locker, his body hit the metal and alerted everyone in the room that a fight was about to break out.Â
Soonyoung had no intention of actually hurting anyone, it wasnât in his nature, but his blood had boiled at how something so innocent as an invite to a dance was suddenly being used to dirty your name without you even knowing.
âYouâre disgusting,â Soonyoung had said through gritted teeth, âEven if that was the case, Iâm sure she wouldnât stoop as low as you.â
Even as one of the tallest players on the team, that day Youngho looked small under the fire of Soonyoungâs rage.
Shortly after the confrontation in the lockers and both Soonyoung and Younghoâs one week suspension from training, any talk of dances and daughters had died down just as all topics of locker room discussion did.Â
But it lived in Soonyoungâs brain incessantly.
From the moment Coach Cho had asked him, he had rewinded back to every single memory of you he could recall. Soonyoung had considered you a permanent fixture at the HYBE training center. He could recall that very first time he came into Coach Choâs office after training, and you were seated by the coffee table with your nose in something or another.Â
Back then you had been so intimidating and snooty that he never dared to talk to you even as he waited for his turn to talk to your dad.
As he grew more comfortable in his place at the training center, no longer gobsmacked at every shiny trophy or starstruck at every first team player that passed him in the hallways, you had started to look more warm towards him too. He was proud to have gotten a smile at the very least, when he would wave to you goodbye.
The years that followed were spent relentlessly chasing his dream, spending every minute that he could to prove his mettle at his sport, and that left him with very little time for anything else.
It wasnât that Soonyoung never had anyone catch his eye, he just never really did anything about it. Well, that and no one had ever expressed any interest in him. He tries not to focus on that, despite how he enjoys the spoils of the wars waged between the girls vying for Wonwooâs affections. He never longed for that kind of attention.
But when he received it from you, despite how it was through that awkward conversation of an invite from your father, he considered it, even if it was just for a smidge of a second.
The smidge of a second grew into minutes, then hours, then days. When Soonyoung found himself wondering why you hadnât visited the training center in weeks, he started to worry.
âWhat if she thinks I donât like her?â Soonyoung said to Wonwoo.
âWhat are you talking about?â Wonwoo asked as he strapped his shin guards on.
âJiae,â Soonyoung whispered, âWhat if she thinks I donât like her.â
Wonwoo could only snort, âYou bet she thinks you donât like her, you said no to her dad.â
Soonyoung groaned as he hit himself in the face with his gloves.
âWhy does it matter,â Wonwoo pushed, âYou like her?â
Soonyoung could only blush.
âSoonyoung, please donât tell me you have a crush on your idolâs daughter?âÂ
The silence was deafening.
Soonyoung keeps his crush on you like a dirty secret.
It was probably the worldâs worst kept dirty secret, but nevertheless, Soonyoung persisted.Â
After having blown the chance to take you to a school dance with the blessing of your father, he had been hoping to get the chance to make it up to you. He just wanted to know, did you like him like that? Why hadnât anyone else on the squad gotten asked to take you to the dance but him? Why him?
Your presence at the training center had gone from few and far in between to once in a blue moon. And as much as Soonyoung hated to say it, it made him sad. He doesnât want to assume that it was because of him, but just not being able to see you at all for weeks and eventually months at a time was a departure from what he was so used to.
Sometimes he went into Coach Choâs office just in the hopes that he'd see you seated by the coffee table, reading a book, and he could just wave hi.
After about a year of your scarce training visits, Soonyoung realizes he may have underestimated his crush on you. While there was little he could actually do in between school, training, and hagwon, that didnât stop him from silly little daydreams and fantasies of seeing you in the stands at one of their official league matches.
That year Soonyoung and Wonwoo had officially joined the U-18 team that Coach Cho personally handled and it was the start of the most grueling period of football growth of Soonyoungâs life. With a defensive expert leading the team, there were suddenly more eyes on him, greater expectations, and the added pressure of playing in front of his hero almost every single day.
There were many nights that Soonyoung thought training would end on a much lighter note if you were watching.
The first time Soonyoung saw you in months was on a random Wednesday evening when he was on clean up duty. He was trailing behind the rest of the guys, wheeling the cart of training balls to the correct storage rooms when he saw you leaning against the wall by your fatherâs office.
He doesnât know if you had seen him, but he ducked into the storage room regardless, self conscious of how he looked post-training with grass stains on his white kit and his hair stuck haphazardly to his face.
From where he was hiding he simply appreciated seeing you in the flesh again after so long. He tried to make a mental tally of things that may have changed since he last saw you, maybe your hair was a little longer, or your lips were colored a different shade by a new lip gloss. Soonyong didnât know, he was always bad at those things, all he knew at that time was that you were the prettiest girl heâd ever seen and that he had missed you.
Wonwoo thought it was a horrible idea. And in hindsight, he was rightâbut hindsight was always 20/20 and Soonyoung believed back then that Wonwoo was almost laughably blind. So, being Soonyoung, he had ignored his best friendâs wise words and jumped head straight into his plan.
The plan being to surprise you and woo you at your school dance. Soonyoung had thanked his lucky stars when his cousin had mentioned it off hand that she was going to dress shopping for a school event that was coming up. Soonyoung usually tuned this kind of talk out when he spent weekends with his extended family, but the mention of a school dance had perked up his ears and suddenly he was begging on his hands and knees for his cousin to take him as her designated plus one.
Very rarely did Soonyoung use his placement in the Cheongdam Diamondsâ U-18 team as leverage, but even his cousin couldnât deny how impressive it would look to take him to the dance.
What he didnât expect was having to fend off everyone that assumed he was dating his snooty older cousin.
He didnât expect coming face to face with you before he was ready to sweep you off of your feet.
He didnât expect that youâd turn your back at him instantly, and take another boyâs hand in your own.
He didnât expect how badly it would hurt to have been rejected without even getting to say a word.
He tried. He tried to keep away, to be satisfied having that brief teenage crush on you. He had fallen into bed with the most beautiful models and some of the most promising rising actresses, but found himself going home thinking about that seventeen year old girl who had turned away from him and danced with another boy.
Soonyoung supposes, after a while, that maybe he doesnât deserve you. He was a far cry from what your father was at his age and having been raised in the game, the lifestyle that he now had, it was possible that you would be far from impressed.Â
On particularly bad nights, Soonyoung thinks of the worst: that maybe you despised him and what he stood for as a professional athlete. Maybe you had sworn to absolutely never be with an athlete, that they were all good for nothing playboys and tricksters. On those nights Soonyoung tried to think of the positive: Youâd probably never date any of his teammates.
The spark that set off a wildfire in his heart that night he came across you and Ddalgi had been warming his body for weeks. Heâs never felt as weightless in his life as when he had managed to place himself in your life after so many years. He tried to stay satisfied, happy to be your friend and to stay by your side in any way, shape, or form you preferred.
But it was so difficult.
Every time he got close to you, he could feel the way his heart thumped louder, faster, telling him that you were here, just out of reach, but if he just put out his hand and took your own, then maybe you could calm it, satisfy it.
But Soonyoungâs made nearly a million and one mistakes when it came to you. And this evening was the worst. Despite his best efforts, he almost always seemed to fuck it up with you, and he couldnât believe he had managed to hurt you to the point of tears.
Heâd spend every second, minute, hour of every day making it up to you if he could, to lavish you in words that would put your mind at ease, make your heart race, and set your skin aflame.
Soonyoungâs made nearly a million and one mistakes when it came to you, but pressing his lips to your throat, and holding you down onto his bed to hear you sigh out his name, would not be one of them.
This evening felt like a dream, Soonyoung thought. In his rational mind there was no way any of it could have happened outside of his imagination. From the second he had pressed his lips to yours, he thought that he was on borrowed time, that just as easily as he had gotten you, you could slip away, change your mind, turn him away.
But when you had pulled away from him and your eyes had met for the first time since the revelation that there were so many years of yearning between you both, your gaze had set his blood aflame.
There was no other way about it. He had to have you.
It was a bold move to take your hand, something he had been longing to do for ages, and tug you towards the direction of his own house. It seemed awfully presumptuous but the way you gripped onto his arm, wrapping your fingers around his bicep and nodded in agreement was all the confirmation he needed.
While your first kiss was wistful, misty, and so long delayed, Soonyoung had made sure that the following kiss was the exact opposite. The second he had closed the door behind the two of you, he had pressed you against it, held the back of your head, tilted it backward just slightly and kissed you breathless. When you had groaned into the kiss, Soonyoung had taken the opportunity to lick into your mouth, his tongue a welcome intrusion in your own. Soonyoungâs head was spinning as he let out a breathy moan of his own.
You tasted of toothpaste and smelled of coconut conditioner, your hair still slightly damp and cold from your recent shower and Soonyoung wanted to be wrapped in it, in all of you.
At the very back of Soonyoungâs brain he wondered if he was being too eager, if it was so fucking uncool for him to want you so badly. But this evening was no longer about rationality. It was about finally giving in, it was finally time for you to both let out the breaths youâd been holding in for far too long.
Soonyoung wanted you to know that he was here and he would be here for as long as you wanted him. If that meant until next week, two years from now, forever, or even if just for tonight, he would gladly accept it.
âMore, Soonyoung,â You had whispered in between small, softer kisses, and stuck out your lower lip in a pout. He couldnât resist you.
He had playfully bit on the fullness of your lip, licked at it with his tongue, then brought it into his mouth to suck. He watched as your eyelids fluttered shut and you wrapped your arms around his head, elbows hooked over his shoulders. It was easy work for him to lift you up by your thighs and carry you up the stairs.
You asked for more so more you would get. Every kiss that followed felt bruising, when Soonyoung felt that you were short of breath, heâd pull away just to press his lips to your pulse instead, and when that wasnât enough, he licked a hot strip onto your pulse and pressed the softest of bites, eliciting a broken moan from your lips.
He wanted to be everywhere, touch everything, hear every desperate gasp, swallow every hungry groan.
Hungry. Thatâs what you were.
And thatâs what heâs always been.
The heat coursing through his body is almost too much for him to take, so Soonyoung quickly pulls away from you with a displeased sigh. He grabs at the bottom of his hoodie to pull it up and over his head before diving back in to press his lips to yours. He refuses to have his mouth parted from yours for too long now that he finally knows what you taste like.Â
His fingers itch to feel your skin and while your thighs had been soft, smooth, and pliant in his hands when he carried you up to his room, he needed more. He needed to know how your skin would feel pressed against his own, how your thighs would feel wrapped around his waist.
You must want the same thing because you follow his lead and pull your own hoodie up and off.
In the locker rooms, there are plenty of mindless and stupid questions thrown about. It wasnât too long ago that the conversation of âass or titsâ was brought up. It was met with loud jeering and playfully scandalized hooting.
Soonyoung had very cheekily said, âHer heartâ and was met with boos and fuck yous from his teammates. If you asked him again today, heâd finally have a proper answer.
âYouâre not in a bra,â Soonyoung says in a whisper, eyes zoning onto your chest.
âIâm undressing for you, Soonyoung. Thatâs kind of the point.â
âI-i-yeah, I get that but. That whole time? You werenât in a bra?â
âWell, yeah,â you start leaning back on your elbows, âI was planning on going to bed straight after yelling at you, but⊠well, here we are.â
His mind goes back to all those weeks prior to tonight when he had greeted you at your front gate and you were wearing this exact same outfit.
When his eyes meet yours it seems youâve come to the same realization as him.
âDo you like them, Soonyoung?â You ask, one hand coming to grasp at the fullness of your left breast and barely fitting in your palm, and the other hand traces your right nipple with a finger slowly; teasing.
âFuck yes,â He says, unable to hold it in, âWere you walking around me these last few weeks without a bra on? Tits just out of my reach?â
The fake coy look on your face makes him so painfully hard but he tries to play it cool, âYes, captain. Wonât you like to give them a touch?â
He shakes his head no, and youâre almost confused until he says, âLet me have a taste of you, baby.â
Baby.
Soonyoungâs pulling all these moves heâs been too terrified to try, despite all the times heâs been openly flirtatious and heâs tried to push the boundaries between friendship and that something more.
But heâs always wanted to try and call you baby.
He doesnât see what your reaction is like because just as he says it, he leans down to lick a broad stripe onto your breast and captures your right nipple between his teeth, the tip of his tongue playing with the stiffening bud.
The sigh you let out fills his head and itâs then that Soonyoung decides that he wants to draw every possible sound of pleasure he can from your mouth. Soonyoung knows heâs loud, mouthy, and just short of talkative in bed, but he wants to know how loud you can get, if he can have you screaming his name too.
Heâs determined to make every second from here on out as pleasurable as he can but heâs been painfully hard since he had you pressed up against his front door. In an attempt to get you as riled up as he can, he switches his hand and mouth, making sure to lavish both of your breasts in licks and kisses, litter them with small nips and love bites, fit them in his hands almost painfully, so the memory of his hands on you sticks.Â
Soonyoung could spend hours praising your chest, but your litany of his name, growing breathless by the second, and the way youâre undulating your hips, trying your best to get some kind of relief finally pulls him away from where heâs be stuck in his own heady cloud of lust.
âSoonyoung, I want to make you feel good,â is what you say when he pulls away from your chest with an obscene pop, moving to press kisses on the valley between your breasts.
You almost make his brain go offline when you grab him by the long, scruffy locks of hair by his nape to lock eyes with him.
You are a vision.
The heady look in your eyes and the way you bite on your plush lower lip is just so much to Soonyoung. Its enough of a distraction that he lets you maneuver him any which way you want and he settles comfortably on his back and against the plush pillows at the head of his bed.
You stand on your knees between his legs and make quick work of untying the drawstrings of his sweats and his hands instantly fly down to yours to help you pull them off along with his underwear. He kicks them to the floor unceremoniously and you push his shoulder back lightly to have him fall back to his pillows.Â
âOh fuck!â is all he can comprehend to say when you drag your tongue from his balls to the tip of his cock, swiping at the precum thatâs started to leak from his slit. Without giving him a second to recover from your initial onslaught, you sink your mouth onto his cock, holding his hip down with a firm hand to support yourself as you give way in your throat for him to slip all the way in.
Soonyoung tries to keep himself from slipping into his baser instincts, to cant his hips upward and have your nose press against his abdomen, fucking himself into your mouth. He lets out a breath he didnât know he was holding through his nose just as you groan around him, eyes slipping shut, and your throat clenching around the head of his cock.
Your mouth was so fucking warm and wet and your throat so tight he wonders if heâll make it out alive from this blowjob to fuck your pussy.
You pull off him with a slight gag and a cough, but you deal with it like champ and slip your mouth over him again, this time your mouth in a perfect âOâ to suck on him quickly, your head bobbing and your spit spilling onto the sides of your lips and down the length of him.
The sounds are filthy and the gasp that you let out when you pull off of him to sit up slightly straighter could make a lesser man cum untouched.
Your fingers are wrapped around him by his base, staving off his impending orgasm, when you decide to blow Soonyoungâs mind again. You press your puckered lips against the side of his cock, dragging them from top to bottom repeatedly.Â
When youâve gotten him sufficiently wet with your spit, you suck on the tip of him again, collecting his precum only to pull off slightly. You lock eyes with him, part your lips, and let your tongue loll out to let a filthy mix of his precum and your spit dribble out of your mouth and onto his cock.
âYouâre fucking insane,â Soonyoung breathes out with an upturned mouth.
You pump his cock once, twice, before saying, âWeâre just getting started, Captain.â
He can only groan happily and let his head fall to his pillows. Heâs going to have to unpack how that title coming from your mouth has him close to orgasming.
Soonyoung keeps getting surprised by the little tricks youâre pulling from thin air, but this definitely takes the top spot.
Once youâve deemed him sufficiently wet, lubricated by your spit and his precum, you start to crawl back up his body while pressing kisses onto the prominent veins on his lower stomach. In no time he can feel himself pressing against your chest, and it becomes clear what youâre about to do.
âYouâre going to let me fuck your tits?â
The smirk that spreads across your lips has him shaking his head in amusement, âYou seemed to be quite taken by them.â
You were a fucking dream come true.
If Soonyoung is only ever going to have you tonight, he needs to make the most out of it. He takes the reins and switches your positions smoothly so youâre on your back in the middle of his humongous bed. He cages your body between his legs and lets his cock settle between your breasts.
You move your hands down to grasp at the sides of each breast when Soonyoung swats one away and takes another into his, pressing your fingers to his lips for a quick kiss then says, âHands off, baby.â
He grasps a breast in each hand and squeezes, plays with each nipple with his thumbs before pressing them together to create a tight, wet heat to fuck into. Your skin is so soft and pliant as he continues to push his cock between your tits that it's starting to mess with his head.
As much as people want to put him onto a pedestal for his footballing accolades and successes, at the end of the day heâs just a guy whoâs finally in bed with the girl heâs had a crush on for ages. The fucked out look on your face just from pleasuring him with your mouth and tits has him biting his tongue to keep from cumming.
Each thrust of his hips has Soonyoung closer and closer to the edge. He wants to make this last as long as he can but it never crossed his mind how youâd be able to play him like an instrument, know which strings to pluck, chords to play, to pull the most pleasure from him.
âFuck, I want to cum on your tits,â He breathes out with a laugh. Heâs done a lot of growing up, but Soonyoung feels like a teenager as he confesses this to you, âYouâll let me cum on your tits right, baby?â
âYeah,â you breathe out with a dumb nod of your head, âCum on my tits, Soonyoung. Make them yours, yeah?â
Soonyoungâs always liked to fuck messy. Plenty sweat, spit, squirt, and cum is par the course when he fucked, but that was mostly for his enjoyment. When you agree to let him spill over you, to cast the assumption of ownership of your body, Soonyoung thinks youâre made for him.
After one, two, three thrusts between your breasts, Soonyoung pulls back, and grasps his cock to jerk himself off to completion, hot spurts of his sticky white cum falling onto your breasts.
You must truly be made for him because as he tries to catch his breath, kneeling over you still and pumping his cock to get hard again, you trace your fingers over your chest to collect his cum. You catch his eye as you bring your sticky fingers to your mouth and suck them clean.
You groan around two fingers and Soonyoung lets out a dark chuckle as you stick out your tongue to show him how youâve swallowed his spend. He does the same, swiping his fingers through the mess on your tits and shoving three fingers into your awaiting mouth. Your tongue presses against them and you go to suck each one, your tongue dancing between them, not letting a single drop of him go to waste.
He canât help it, he has to kiss you.
And Soonyoung is a master kisser.
Each time he pressed his mouth to yours, you felt your head go blurry around the edges and every thought that isnât him simply fades away. The taste of him was addicting and the slip of his tongue against yours had you gushing despite his hands holding you by the back of the head innocently. But you didnât want innocent, you wanted desperate, you wanted depraved, you wanted disgusting, if he would give it to you.
It doesnât take long for him to move down your body, paying copious amounts of attention to your sensitive nipples and marked up tits, and eventually pulling down your sleep shorts.
If it was anyone else, it would be embarrassing how wet youâd gotten, but this is Soonyoung. This is Soonyoung who youâd wanted for so long, Soonyoung who had felt the same and just as strongly, Soonyoung whose touch could set you ablaze and whose one word could give you release.
You want him to know. You want him to see and taste just how riled up heâs gotten you, that maybe from this day forward, only he could press his mouth between your thighs, only his tongue could press into your hole, only his lips could wrap around your clit to make you cry out for God.
âFuck, you taste so good,â He breathed, pressing kisses to the mound of your pubic bone, âI knew youâd taste so good.â
Just his praise has you keening, eyes slipping shut as you feel him spread your legs. He uses his fingers to part your folds and that action is enough to have you clenching around nothing, wanting so badly to be filled, with his tongue, fingers, cock, anything just as long as he could grant you some relief.
âSoonyoung, please,â You manage to whisper.
âPlease what?â comes his voice, itâs almost playful, and maybe you want to kick him, but itâs so fucking hot you can feel how badly it gets to you, a sudden wave of arousal making itself known as it starts to trickle out of you.
You let out a frustrated groan, canting your hips upward uselessly as Soonyoung uses his strength to keep you in position. He moves to spread you even further with one leg hoisted over his shoulder and the other pressed flat against the bed. There was no hiding in this position, you were displayed for him, ready and open for whatever it was he wanted to do to you.
âHereâs what Iâll do,â He says, placing kisses onto your knee, moving down to your thigh slowly, âI want to taste this delicious pussy some more, get you all nice and wet, hmm? Then I want to fuck you open with my fingers.â
You nod stupidly as he speaks and you think that you may just agree to anything he says, happy to take anything he wants to give you.
âWill one be enough?â He teases, running one finger along one of your lower lips.
You open your eyes to communicate what your mouth canât, rendered speechless by his tone of voice alone.
âNo? How about two then?â Another finger joins the onslaught in framing your hole but his touch is feather-light and offers no relief whatsoever.
âSoonyoung,â is the only thing you can get out and it comes out as more of a whine.Â
âFine, seems like my girl can take three then? How greedy.â
You bite your lip and nod before saying, âI can take four, Soonyoung. Youâll give me four, right?â
Thereâs a mean glint in his eye as he says, âYouâre perfect.â
Soonyoung eats pussy like he kisses. Itâs messy and itâs deep and youâve never had it this good. He fucks his tongue into your hole with no hesitation, licking deep and lapping at your folds like youâre the best damn thing heâs ever tasted. When he pulls away itâs only so he can move to sucking on your clit. After having teased you with his fingers earlier, itâs like heâs decided fuck that and just thought to ruin you with as much pleasure as he could pull from your body.
Moans and whimpers pour out of your mouth freely. The knowledge that there are no nosey neighbors to disturb means you can be as loud as you want. You want Soonyoung to know how well heâs pleasuring you, that he can pull these ragged breaths and pleasured sighs from you so easily just because itâs him.
When you feel the prod of two fingers at your entrance you bite your lip but a scream breaks through when you feel a third finger push into you as well. Soonyoung had gotten you so wet and prepared for him with his mouth and his tongue that you welcomed the stretch. It was incredible how each of his touches could make you feel this good.
With his fingers inside of you pumping steadily, he peppered your thighs with kisses, moving upwards towards your clit. He flattens his tongue against it and shakes his head to heighten the sensation. On instinct you want to shut your legs closed but he still has you spread open for him and the position has you twitching as you feel yourself about to cum.
âYouâll give me everything, wonât you?â He says, finally pulling away from your clit, âI want to see how hard you can cum.â
Soonyoung sits back onto his knees so he can watch when he pushes four of his fingers into you. Four fingers is a tight fit but you take it like a champ, enjoying how he stretches you open. You watch him watching you and the look of determination and the way his chest heaves has you impossibly turned on. You never thought youâd be in this position, but he is every lonely night fantasy come to life and more.
He is everything.
You enjoy how his arms look, one wrapped around your thigh to hold you open and the other flexing as he pushes his fingers into you repeatedly, gaining speed as the seconds pass. You clench around his fingers as the heat envelopes you and you feel the pressure slowly take over.
âSoonyoung,â You start as a warning, âSoonyoung, Iâm gonnaâIâm gonna cum!â
He says nothing but instead hastens his actions, plunging his fingers even deeper, hooking his fingers just right to press into that spot inside you thatâll have you exploding in no time.
Your own fingers scramble on his bedsheets, looking for something to keep you anchored as your hips start to buck and you can feel yourself dripping around his fingers inside you.
âSoonyoung, please please, Iâm serious. I canât hold it in,â You cry out.
âI know baby,â He says with a smirk, âGive it to me. I want it.â
Itâs like he flipped a switch inside of you and in the same moment he demands you to come, that thread in your stomach snaps and you gush all over his hand and forearm. Tears slip from your eyes in relief but also shame at the mess you made of yourself, his arm, and the bed.
He pulls his fingers out of you gently and you jerk in his hold, the sensitivity starting from your cunt and spreading to your arms and legs. You let Soonyoung rearrange you on his bed but the heat simmering beneath your skin continues to fuel your lust-addled brain.Â
âGod, youâre fucking perfect,â Soonyoung says, pressing kisses onto your stomach, onto your left breast, then the right, and taking your nipple between his teeth with a gentle tug, âIâve never had anyone cum as beautiful as you.â
You hate the idea of Soonyoung being with someone that isnât you. Itâs stupid and immature but his confession earlier sets you at ease. Just as you had been with others with the assumption that being with Soonyoung was a far and unreachable dream, he too might feel the same pang of jealousy.
That jealousy rears its ugly head even now. But this time you can do something about it.
You confirm your suspicions about how much he enjoys when you thread your fingers into his hair, so you tug at his locks to bring his mouth to yours. When he licks into your mouth you think that you can taste yourself on his lips and you canât help but press your lips to his even more.
âThat was so fucking embarrassing, Soonyoung,â You sigh out when you manage to get your breathing somewhat back to normal.
Soonyoung refuses to part from you, lips sucking a bruise high on your neck, a love bite that you know will be hard to hide.
âDonât fucking say that again,â He says between licks, sucks, and kisses, âI want to make all your orgasms that insane. Hottest woman Iâve ever been with, Iâll ever be with.â
You want to roll your eyes at him. Itâs an exaggeration if not an outright bold faced lie. But you canât help but think about it as well. You doubt anyone will ever come close to how Soonyoung has made you feel in the last few hours. The rage, the sadness, the confusion, the joy, the elation, and the euphoriaâall of that had stemmed from how much youâve longed and loved him. You fear you will never feel as strongly for anyone ever again.
You want him so much.
You want him so much that despite how sensitive you still feel, you had to have more of him.
So you push him onto his back and straddle his hips. Your center is still wet, stretched out so nicely by his fingers, and when you lower yourself to glide over his cock, you can feel how heâs recovered, already hard.Â
He sits up to catch your lips in a heated kiss, riling you both up as you cover him with your wetness, âI have condoms in the drawer,â He whispers when he pulls away from you by just a fraction.
âDonât be stupid,â You say as you grind down on him, âI wouldnât fuck you if I wasnât clean.â
âAnd I know youâd be off the squad if you didnât pass your monthlies,â You continue, now gripping him by the base of his cock.
âAnd Iâm on the pill,â You say with a slight falter in your bravado as the head of his cock catches at your entrance, âSo donât you want to fuck me raw?â
You should have known not to challenge Soonyoung because there was never a challenge he stood down from. He pushes into you at the same time you begin to sink down on him and it causes him to slip all the way in, his cock filling you completely and the stretch leaving you speechless.
The feeling of his cock driving into you at once has the hair all over your body standing and you feel the electric shock of pleasure racing up your spine to the very top of your head.
The noise you let out is nearly demonic.
Despite the position, thereâs no mistaking who is calling the shots. Just his first thrust into you had your brain turning into mush, so when Soonyoung continued to fuck up into the heat of your cunt, you had grown useless on top of him. There was no way to decipher the nonsense you were spewing, just that they were surely words of praise for how thoroughly Soonyoung was fucking you.
It should have come as no surprise that fucking a footballer meant that your stamina would be put to the test. But still, youâre wholly unprepared for how long and how hard Soonyoung could go when it came to fucking. When you had fallen into his arms, unable to hold yourself up as he fucked into you from below, he had pushed you onto your back to fuck you while he had both of your legs over one shoulder.
By then he could match you with how he could hardly keep himself shut, groaning out praises about how tight you were around him with your legs pressed together.
âOn your hands and knees, baby,â He instructs as he pulls out and lets your legs fall to the bed, you donât miss how breathless heâs beginning to sound and you revel in how wreaked youâve gotten him as well.
You quickly position yourself as he has requested but take it further by pressing your chest onto the bed, arching your back and folding your arms behind you. In a brief moment of tenderness, Soonyoung takes one of your hands in his and intertwines your fingers.
Of course he matches it with filth when he spanks your backside then grabs the meat of your buttcheek to spread you open for him, âLook at this wrecked pussy.â
You preen under his attention and smile even if he canât see your face in this position.
He collects the wetness of your pussy to lubricate himself before pushing into you and you swear the world stops spinning for a minute. Soonyoung was big, long enough to curve into you nicely, and his girth enough to have you gritting your teeth at the initial thrust into you.
But the position he had you in let him into you so much deeper, you swear you can feel him up to your throat, and you know youâre clenching around him with a vice grip. He felt so perfect inside of you that you could only wish he felt as good.
âYouâre so deep, Soonyoung,â You say shakily, as he stills you with a hand on your hip.
âFuck your pussyâs perfect,â He says as he presses even deeper, âLook at you stretched out for me. Making space for me inside of you. No one else can fuck you like this.â
No one can. No one will.
He slips out of you slightly just to press back in harshly with a jolt of his hips and soon he begins an almost punishing pace. He cock presses into the spot inside you incessantly and the feeling of his hands gripping tightly onto the meat of ass is the perfect mix of pain and pleasure that has you gasping out his name in a sinful litany as you cum, unintentionally tightening around him.
The groan he lets out tells you heâs close to coming and when his thrusts start to grow sloppy he pulls out of you suddenly, to wrap a fist around his cock, pulling at himself to cum onto your backside. You know from his first orgasm that Soonyoung can cum a lot and when he spills all over you again now, it lands everywhere, some of it dripping into your hole, still gaping and clenching around nothing when he had pulled out of you.
You whine, a frown making itself present on your face as you turn to face him.
âI thought you were going to cum inside me,â You say, squirming at the cum quickly cooling on your ass and the few drops that had made it inside you keeping you sticky between your thighs.Â
âFuck, youâre going to kill me,â is all Soonyoung can say as he moves to sit up against the headboard and his pillows.
Your eyes follow his hand thatâs wrapped around his still hard cock and you push it aside to take over, wanting him back in your mouth. You lay in front of him for a while, letting your tongue lap at him, and leisurely bobbing your head to get him fully hard and wet again.
In no time Soonyoung pulls you up to lay on his chest and slips back inside of you.
You sigh as your body grows boneless against him and he does all the work, hips undulating and pushing his cock into you just right so that you see stars and you gasp into each sloppy kiss. There is not even a millimeter between you two and if someone asked, youâd want to stay this way forever.
Even without the pleasure of fucking, you wished to never part from Soonyoung again.
The realization is jarring at this very moment but you let yourself ride the wave as it makes your orgasm so overwhelming tears fall from your eyes.
When Soonyoung sees the tear stains he moves his lips to kiss them away and whispers words of reassurance before he himself groans, spilling into you and finally filling you with his cum.
You canât contain the fullness in your heart as Soonyoung lays you on your back, and drapes himself over you. You wrap a leg around his waist, not wanting him to pull away just yet.
Then he smiles.
âIâve wanted you for so long,â You whisper, afraid that saying this now would shatter the moment. But you have to tell him again. Remind him that this cannot just be for one night.
âYou have me, you have me, you have me,â He says.Â

svt as boyfriends ⥠soonyoung edition
member: soonyoung (i tried to make this gender neutral) genre: fluff, bullet points, maybe idol au? word count: 922 summary: soonyoung's boyfriend things :P warnings: none! all fluff like hoshi !! author's note: yuh yeet i forgot to post this :)
I feel like Soonyoung would definitely be the playful type ! He loves doing anything as long as itâs with youÂ
Similarly to Jun, I feel like youâd never know what his next move is -- heâs insane like thatÂ
I also think heâs a loud boyfriend, always wanting attention from you, but also is not afraid to give that same attention back to you
Quality TimeÂ
Soonyoung always wants to be around you no matter what he is doing or where he isÂ
Though, since heâs an introvert, he definitely is going to want his alone time at some pointÂ
He usually claims his alone time as universe factory time or dance practice time,,,he uses the silence to create masterpiecesÂ
Yâall would absolutely choose one night a week to go out for dinner together, just to fill each other in on what youâve been doing during the few times youâre not together
Absolutely loves taking you on trips !!Â
Soonyoung also seems like the type where one minute heâll be loud, demanding you play a game like mario kart or smash bros with him, and the next, heâll be asleep on the couch, cuddling his designated living room tiger plushieÂ
Words of Affirmation
I think Soonyoung is big on words of affirmation
Of course, it works both ways, as he doesnât want to just be complimenting you and then receiving nothing on his endÂ
He never fails to tell you how amazing you are all the time, no matter what youâre doingÂ
He (like me) would just say random encouragements like âI believe in youâ and âIâm proud of youâ even if you were just doing chores or brushing your teeth
Of course, you compliment him back, never failing to notice his talents in singing, dancing and song writing
You are the first person he shows all of his music too, and loves when you mix his songs into your favorite playlistsÂ
Soonyoung, a very loving person, never fails to tell you how much he loves you. Itâs a constant thing -- so much that you almost get annoyed at itÂ
Physical TouchÂ
Soonyoung is the king of physical touch, but instead of it being more of a comforting thing, heâs just constantly in your bubbleÂ
He wants to rest his head on your shoulders or thighs, he hugs you any time he possibly can, he holds your hand in the car while he is drivingÂ
When he laughs, he falls on top of you, because he canât control himself <3Â
Heâs definitely also big on cuddling - he wants to have you in his arms, all the time
âSoonyoung I need to roll over, my shoulder hurts.âÂ
âYay, I love being the little spoonâÂ
You put up with his antics, no matter how insane they are because you love him and would do anything for him, if it means the smile stays on his face
Of course, with wanting to be around you all the time, he also needs his alone time, and you are never against that -- you need your own space too, and youâre glad that the both of you can respect each other
Acts of Service
I feel like this is the love language that Soonyoung lacks in the most, but not in a bad wayÂ
Rather than doing things for you, heâd rather do things with youÂ
Instead of cleaning up after dinner himself, he helps you, carrying the bigger dishes and washing them
Instead of doing chores like dusting or vacuuming, you split the chores -- heâll dust the higher shelves and cabinets since you canât reach themÂ
I will say, Soonyoung always drives!Â
Even if you love driving and honestly prefer being behind the wheel, Soonyoung wants to be the one driving you just to make sure that you get places on time, and safelyÂ
Honestly, he cares almost a bit too much tbh
Though, on the other hand, when youâre sick or not feeling wellâŠ
Soonyoung is doing EVERYTHINGÂ
Heâll do all the chores, clean the whole house, make you food (even if itâs just ramen), heâll make sure your favorite show is queued up on the TV and that you always have medicine and water for when you need itÂ
He will also do this when he notices your stressed - he wants to take care of you as much as he can, and if that means doting on you, heâll do itÂ
Gift GivingÂ
Opposite of Acts of Service, I think this is the category that Soonyoung strives in obviously besides physical touch that man is gorilla glued to youÂ
Soonyoung loves to give you things, whether it be just bringing you a cup of tea in the morning, or buying you the most expensive jewelry he can find, even if you donât wear it that often
Heâs also big on seeing you in his clothes !! He wants to give you all of his tiger print shirts, jackets and hoodies, loving how it makes you think of him when youâre not togetherÂ
For your birthday, though, heâll always go all out: asking Mingyu to teach him how to make your favorite dessert and seaweed soup
Heâll buy you something thatâs been on your wishlist for forever, even if itâll be a little hard to pay forÂ
Like seriously if you wanted a new house for a gift, heâd pay the down payment in a heartbeatÂ
He just wants you to know that he cares for you, and when words donât work, his presents would speak for him

[Tales from the Pack] Soonyoung: Imperfect (Epilogue)
Characters: Soonyoung x female reader
Genre/warnings: werewolf au, fantasy, fluff, mentions of smut but nothing explicit
Word count:Â 980
Summary: Soonyoung has always been desperate to find his mate, often going out into town at night to fill the void of imprinting that he craves so much. Then suddenly, you (quite literally) appear in front of him. Heâd always dreamed and fantasized about what having his mate would be like, but the reality is nothing like he expected. Â
a/n:Â dialogue in bold is meant to be english and whenever someone says readerâs name itâs meant to be readerâs surname
Previous | Imperfect Masterlist | TftP Masterlist
"Love of my life, can you grab the other carton of eggs from the fridge for me?"
All the wolves loved using terms of endearment for their mates, but everyone could mostly tell who was being called to based off of the voice. Jooyeon only pretended to get confused to annoy Seungcheol, rushing along with Arinya or Suvi and claiming "you call me baby, too" when he'd pout she didn't know it wasn't him. But you found it easy to know it was Soonyoung not just from the voice, but from the too-cheesy pet names he gave you.
"Honey bun, can you come here?"
"Peach cobbler, where are you?"
"Princess of my heart, I need you!"
Another thing was Soonyoung loved to flex his English now that he was essentially fluent. You both were doing well, only not understanding or remembering a few words here and there. But Kyung and Hansol reminded you both that even they needed refreshers on some words sometimes, so you were 'basically fluent now'. Soonyoung loved to switch languages in the middle of a sentence just because he knew how to now. Sometimes it confused you but he let you take a second to process what he was saying.
When he'd called for you after he'd noticed you enter the kitchen, your brown eyes met his golden ones with a raised brow. He was standing at the stove, throwing you a warm smile over his shoulder before he went back to talking quietly with Mingyu beside him.
You had been at the market with Felix, and the younger wolf was currently babbling excitedly to Kyung about the colorful woven-string bracelets he'd spotted.
"Friendship bracelets!" he'd gasped when he saw them, running over to the booth.
You loved hanging out with Felix. As soon as you got to properly meet him and his alpha, Chan, you immediately hit it off. It gave you a similar feeling as to when you would be with Luka. It felt safe and like home. It felt like you were hanging out with your brothers again.
But you were no longer paying attention to the bracelets Felix had bought the two of you -- and one for Chan, of course. You were looking at your mate's back with a raised brow.
"Are you...making breakfast?" you asked slowly.
Soonyoung turned again to face you, "Yeah, why?"
"You're cooking?" you asked, sounding more worried now. "You're being allowed near a stove?"
You heard Joshua off to the side of the kitchen imitate your accent when you said the word 'cooking' but you only threw him a short glare before looking back at Soonyoung.
Mingyu turned to look over his shoulder, promising, "I'm supervising."
Soonyoung just pouted and loudly whined, "I'm not that bad at cooking!"
"I love you, but you absolutely are."
He seemed to have not heard anything you said after the first part, because he grinned widely and chirped, "I love you, too!"
"I'm sorry, but can you fight about it another time?" Suvi whined. "I'm hungry."
"Don't tell them that," Jeonghan quickly snapped. "They will fight about it, and nobody wants to hear it."
You immediately felt your cheeks get hot. You knew everyone in the pack did things like that and never really minded when people heard, but whenever it was brought up, you always got embarrassed. You were always a pretty quiet person when it came to that -- especially in comparison to your counterpart -- but you always forgot in the heat of the moment that at least half the people in the house could hear everything.
Something else about Soonyoung was he was...well...insatiable for lack of a better word. Not that you were against it because you liked doing anything with him and he was always great to you, but you felt like the two of you were getting teased even more often than Joshua and Arinya now.
To be fair, the guy was a hopeless romantic who had been looking for his mate for the last 50 or so years, so you couldn't blame him for being a little excited.
"Give them a break," Soomin sighed, standing up for you, "we all do it. We all hear each other. It's not just them."
Seokmin sat up straighter, turning away from where he was listening to Felix and admiring his bracelet to look toward the conversation, "I beg to differ."
As the pack began to bicker among themselves, Felix turned to look at you, wanting to ask if you wanted to go hang out outside or something and wait for breakfast. Instead, he was met with an empty space, which he found odd since he hadn't heard or sensed you leave. He whipped his head to the other side and then scanned the kitchen, wondering if you'd just moved your location.
"Where's _____?" he finally wondered.
The pack slowly died down and searched the kitchen for you, but Soonyoung burst into laughter. He weaved through bodies packed in the kitchen, effortlessly finding you still in your spot next to Felix as he put his arms around your waist perfectly like he could still see you.
It didn't matter how far out of your shell you'd come since he'd met you, your old habit of unknowingly disappearing when you were embarrassed never seemed to die.
"You'll always be my shy little baby," he giggled before placing a big, dramatic kiss to your cheek.
You faded back into view, face still hot and a shy but grumpy look on your face, "Thanks, I think..."
He placed his fingers under your chin and turned your head to look at him, pressing a sweet kiss to your lips that lasted maybe a little too long for being right in front of the entire house, plus Felix.
"Get a room," Junhui coughed.
And just like that, you were gone again, making Soonyoung laugh even louder.

JEWELS WITHIN; a wolf story pt.4
Pairing - Kwon Soonyoung (Hoshi) x 6 year old!oc x fem!reader
Warnings - werewolf au, cold!soonyoung, cursing, hoshi using nicknames for his little sister (baby, honey, etc), painfully shy!reader, but also lowkey childish and adorable, angst, age gap, (4years). Bipolar!josh (he can get so soft and then be an ass but we all know he cares), not the best of writing but I try.. :)
Summary - After being rejected by his mother at birth and parents murdered by hunters, soonyoung is faced with the responsibility of raising his little sister alone⊠until he finds you.
Word count - ?
Hanaâs pov
Itâs been 2 hours since my brother left. I miss him so much! Who am I going to annoy now? OrâŠor play games with?
Today Iâve realized how boring it is without hoshi.
Speaking of games⊠the nice girl Aria offered to play games with me, but I didnât like the idea of playing with someone else without my brother here. It made me feel bad.
So, I sat on the long rectangle like chair (thatâs called a couch⊠I think.) and watched what they call a âshowâ on a box called a tv!
The show wasnât all that good to be honest, a bunch of puppets singing and I was already a bit bored by it.
Who am I kidding? This show is great!
I probably watched about 2 episodes of it until I heard people starting to talk due to someone coming in through the door.
âJosh! Your sisters here!â Said somebody.
The scary guy has a sister? I wonder if sheâs my age!
No⊠maybe?
Joshua came downstairs the greet his sister the same time I turn my head to see who this mystery sister is.
Sheâs not my age. Shouldâve known Hana!
âY/n? What are you doing here?! How did you even get here?â The boy asked. âI⊠missed my brother?â The girl said quietly, chuckling nervously.
âY/nâŠâ he said. Sternly looking at the younger girl.
âCan we just talk about it later? Please.â The girl said looking away from the older boy. âFine. I want you to meet someone, We have a guest.â Joshua said pointing to Hana.
âHi! Iâm Hana!â The girl said loudly making the girl flinch. âHello..â the girl said with a small voice.
âI have a brother too! His name is Hoshi!â She said smiling. âHow nice⊠how old are you Hana?â The girl asks. âIâm six years old! Yesterday was my birthday!â Hana says giggling.
âYouâre very cute Hana, I can see us being friends..â the girl says looking at Joshua who smiles encouragingly.
âMe too! Wanna watch this show with me?â Hana says turning back to face the Tv with a bounce.
âSure, sounds amazingâ
â
Soonyoung
âShifts are normally around 8 hours a day, 12 if you do an extra shift.â Aria says.
âI know you wanted to keep as little amount of time away from your sister as possible but this is the best itâs gonna be Soonyoung.â She continued.
âIâm definitely going to hate this but, I really need the money.â I sigh. âWhenâs the fastest I can start?â
âWell, I can see if I can get you an interview perhaps by Friday, which is in two days so it would be a tight fit but not impossible.â She breaths out. âHow about you wait here and Iâll go find my boss so you can chat with him?â She begins walking away before I could answer.
I wonder what Hanaâs doing right now⊠I sure do miss her
Despite the amount of hours I need to spend away from her, I donât feel anything bad is to go with this chance,
Because Iâll be able to make enough money to get us a new home just for the two of us, raise her the correct way, the only same thing is Iâll keep her homeschooled, nobody will change my mind on that.
She deserves so many great things and life and I just know that Iâll be able to give it to her.
Although I do wish she could have some type of woman figure in her life but even if she doesnât so what? So many people raise their kids alone, besides Iâve been doing it for 6 years, whatâs decades more?

Hi everyone! I apologize for the delay in this series and also for a short chapter, writing isnât my strong suit and I do so many other things out of this. Plus I really wanted to get something out as itâs been soooo long đ
. I plan to have a but of a dramatic time skip in one of the chapters but I wonât say when or whichđ€âŠ
Hereâs some other things to look out for (hopefully)
New writing layouts
New master list
New one-shot (letâs hope hard on this one)
So thank you all for being patient!
