FFXV Glamtober Day 20: Another Time/Another Place part 1
Tumblr media
Eurydice was a hungry young girl A runaway from everywhere she'd ever been She was no stranger to the world No stranger to the wind
Tumblr media
Orpheus was a poor boy, But he had a gift to give. He could make you see how the world could be: In spite of the way that it is
Tumblr media
Once upon a time there was a railroad line Don't ask where, brother, don't ask when It was the road to Hell, it was hard times It was a world of gods…and men!
Welcome to Hadestown AU!
This AU is set on another shard, one that still exists. But it happened long ago, not long after the Sundering. The conditions on this shard are dire. The world becomes steadily more stagnant and less fruitful and the people are suffering. Orpheus has a talent for manipulating aether and an enquiring and scientific mind. He's working on a theory that will bring the world back into balance. Eurydice is a survivor, a wanderer, a loner. One day she arrives at the small waystation where Orpheus lives and works. On the road to Hades.
(Gear pieces below)

Severia's theme song for ARR-EW is Gravity from Wolf's Rain, sung by Maya Sakamoto. It reflects her uncertainty about herself, the memories that haunt her, her drive to seek something more, a general sense of longing. The melancholy of the tune suits her in the earlier part of her story.
youtube
Lyrics:
Been a long road to follow Been there and gone tomorrow Without saying goodbye to yesterday Are the memories I hold still valid? Or have the tears deluded them? Maybe this time tomorrow The rain will cease to follow And the mist will fade into one more today Something somewhere out there keeps calling Am I going home? Will I hear someone, singing solace to the silent moon? Zero gravity what's it like? (Am I alone?) Is somebody there beyond these heavy aching feet? Still the road keeps on telling me to go on Something is pulling me I feel the gravity of it all
Her new theme song, beginning with DT is written and sung by Maya Sakamoto.
youtube
Lyrics (translated):
Looking down from the castle wall, I saw the city bathed in light of the morning sun Somebody’s window opened, and birds took flight Far away, so far away in the past, lie the traces of heartrending history Please, oh please, let these peaceful days continue on If we want to, we could go anywhere at all From here, we can become anything at all While atoning for our mistakes, we obtained freedom Light from hundreds of millions of years ago has reached me, just about now Living here on this planet that overflows with the strangest things Flowers that bloom only in the desert Lakes that turn into mirrors I want to see, I want to see it all, Ah, with my own eyes If I want to, I could go anywhere at all From here, I can become anything at all Swimming through this limited time, freedom is in my hands The planet remembers everything The planet carries everything with it If we want to, we could go anywhere at all From here, we can become anything at all Swimming through the cold galaxy, we obtained life
I feel that this fits the world of FFXIV surprisingly well and really calls to Severia's love of travel, discovery and adventure.
Fittingly, the singer of both of these songs is my voice claim for Severia! So if you want to know what she sounds like when she sings, take a listen.
WoL Question:
What's your character's theme song and why did you pick it?

Orpheus: Come home with me! Eurydice: It's you. Orpheus: It's me. Eurydice: Orpheus! Orpheus: Eurydice!
Another edition of Hadestown AU, featuring Eurydice after she's gone to Hadestown and Orpheus when he chases after her. Heritage Found is the perfect place to use for Hadestown considering that it has a train line, a giant wall and Hades calls his town "the electric city".

She learned to feel the song in her heart. To let it pool deep inside to well up through her body and spill forth from her lips. She learned to coax melody from harp an flute and send the sounds soaring around the field of battle. The magic of fire and brimstone, of ice and wind was for others. For her was the magic of heart and soul. And yet, she knew there was something missing from her songs. Some truth that eluded her. Perhaps the journey would reveal it to her.
Severia's ARR mid-level Bard glam. I headcanon her getting the Choral Chapeau a lot earlier because it's just such a fundamental part of her Bard identity for me.

This is Severia’s theme song throughout ARR to Endwalker. It’s sung by the voice actress I HC as her voice claim, Maaya Sakamoto. And it’s a really beautiful song.
I am looking forward to seeing where the game takes us from 7.0 on and finding out what her new theme song will be.
Does your WoL have a theme song(s)?

Walking in the sun, I remember someone Someone by my side, turned his face to mine And then I turned away, into the shade
Severia as Eurydice from the musical Hadestown. Featuring lyrics from the song Flowers by Anaïs Mitchell. This song has a chokehold on my brain. It's really beautiful and emotional.

Tumet Tribe Headcanons and Young Severia Lore
The children of the Tumet, upon seeing their tenth summer, are tied to a sacred tree while the remainder of the tribe packs up and moves to their next location. Those children who manage to break free from their bonds and catch up with the tribe at that next location, are given a name and allowed into the tribe. ~Official Tumet Lore
Because Tumet children do not earn their names until they undergo their tribe’s ritual, it is common practice to have a “childhood name”. This childhood name is often something very simple. It might be the color of the child’s hair or eyes. Or it might be their place within the family, i.e. “first daughter”, “third son”. However, some parents choose to use an “taboo name”. The purpose of the taboo name is to make any source of ill fortune or evil influence would overlook the child and thus make it more likely for the child to reach its tenth summer. These names take forms such as Nergüi 'No Name', or Enebish 'Not This One'. They are merely temporary and not considered a “true name”.
Any child who cannot succeed in the tribal ritual to earn their name and place in the tribe is effectively banished from the tribe. It is taboo to aid any child in the midst of their ritual. Any child who receives help is also banished. Their parents are to live as if the child never existed.
When Severia’s mother became pregnant with her, her mother had already suffered through two miscarriages and a stillbirth. It was considered a miracle that Severia survived and her father immediately insisted on using a taboo name to avert any ill luck that might take the child from them. The name they chose was Khünbish meaning 'Not a Human Being'. But Severia proved to be a frail child who was allergic to sheep, the source of their livelihood. Deeply disappointed and bitter, Severia’s father blamed his wife and had only contempt for his daughter.
When the time approached for her naming ritual, an influence came upon her father and whispered in his mind that it was his opportunity to rid himself of the useless child. And so when the day came, Severia’s father tied the ropes more tightly and securely than was generally done. He did not want her to have any chance of escape. The tribe moved on and the child could not loosen the ropes or free herself. For three days and nights she was bound to the tree.
Nearby there was a young man of the Mol tribe, a singer of healing songs, who traveled much to practice his art. In the midst of his travels he heard the voice of one of his gods urging him to change course. Thus did he come upon the nearly dead child tied to the tree. Had he not possessed the gift of healing, she would surely have died. But she lived and could not go back to her tribe. Young Ayanga Mol had committed a taboo of the Steppe.
The voice of his god directed his footsteps southward towards Yanxia and he brought the child with him. He was a mere 9 years her elder, but had no choice but to become her guardian, at least for the time being. Ayanga was reluctant to call her by her childhood name, the meaning of which made him uncomfortable. Yet also the child resisted the idea of being given a name by him. So it was that he took to calling her emegtei düü, or little sister.

Additional Pre-ARR Severia Lore
A continuation of the Tumet Headcanons and Young Severia Lore post.
The two traveled throughout Yanxia as Ayanga practiced his vocation as an itinerant healer. During this time, since he had rescued her, the child had not spoken a word. It was a malady not of the body but of the mind and yet even Ayanga’s most powerful songs could not heal her.
One day, Ayanga was given payment in the form of an old, battered and stringless shamisen, the only possession his patient had to give. Some time later, he was able to trade his services for new strings for the instrument. Ayanga had no skill with it, but Severia became entranced by its sounds. She taught herself to play by listening and watching other musicians in the towns they visited and learned to communicate her mood through its tones. She was never seen without it; shamisen became like an extension of her body.
But healing was not the only task that Ayanga Mol performed as they traveled. Early on he became entangled with the Doman Resistance against the Garlean occupation and agreed to use his itinerant ways to carry messages for them. This he did for several years before he was finally caught and executed by the Garleans leaving Severia alone once more. The Garleans were aware of Ayanga’s “little sister” but she slipped through their net when they tried to capture her. Ayanga’s last words to her were to run far, far away.
Through much hardship Severia eventually found her way to Kugane and stowed away on a ship bound for Eorzea. All she had were the clothes on her back and her beloved shamisen. The ship arrived in Vesper Bay and Severia slipped ashore. She did not know the language or anything of the lands she had come to. Her shamisen became her salvation. She played on street corners and roadsides as she traveled and lived on the meager offerings of her listeners. She also listened very carefully everywhere she went. Slowly by ear she picked up the common tongue.
And then one day as she played her music, that so many Eorzeans found quaintly foreign, to a small audience of folk in the southern parts of the Black Shroud, she made a decision. A kind Elezen woman, after placing several gil in her offering bowl, asked the young musician what her name was. In a rough whisper, for it had been 11 years since she used her voice, the musician spoke. “I am Severia Zetsuen.”
The name was chosen carefully. She had learned from her listening the word “sever” and liked the sharp sound of it. She was cut off from her former life. Cut off from her tribe and family. Cut off from the kind stranger who had become her brother. Her life had been cleanly severed when she boarded the ship bound for the west. So let her be Severia. The word Zetsuen echoed this meaning. For it encompassed the idea of having one’s connections and relationships severed, one’s fate interrupted. This she took from the language of Yanxia, for having left that land, she now realized how much it had become a part of her.
Newly christened, Severia boarded a chocobo carriage bound for the city of Gridania, of which she had heard many things. Still unaccustomed to using her voice, Severia sat in quiet anticipation of her new future. It was fortunate that the garrulous passenger traveling with her had no problem filling her silence himself.

please tell me about songs #4 and #15 from your ship playlist!! 💗
So, have I mentioned that I love Frank Sinatra? Cause I love Frank Sinatra and there are quite a few of his songs on my ship playlist.
4
youtube
All or Nothing at All really describes Severia's feelings about romance with Nero during the Crystal Tower series and in particular the night they spend dancing at the Gold Saucer.
All or nothing at all Half a love, never appealed to me If your heart, never could yield to me Then I'd rather have nothing at all
When it comes to relationships, she's a very all or nothing person. She can't help giving all of herself to those she cares about. And she's afraid to give her heart to someone (Nero) who she believes can't give all of his own in return. But oh how she's tempted.
Please don't bring your lips so close to my cheek Don't you smile or I'll be lost beyond recall The kiss in your eyes, the touch of your hand makes me weak And my heart, it may grow dizzy and fall
15
youtube
And coincidentally you also picked the song that describes how Nero feels that night at the Gold Saucer.
What a day this has been What a rare mood I'm in Why, it's almost like being in love There's a smile on my face For the whole human race Why, it's almost like being in love
Thanks for sending me an ask! 🥰

Nine people I'd like to get to know better
Tagged by: @airis-ray and @starrysnowdrop also @ainyan and @sasslett tagged me almost a month ago but I forgot. Thanks!
Last song: Unfortunately(?), this AI Frank Sinatra cover of a FNAF song that my son sent me because he knows I love Frank Sinatra.
Favorite color: Red
Last movie/TV show: My husband and I are rewatching Blue Exorcist to get ready for the new season coming out soon.
Sweet/spicy/savory?: Sweet or savory. Anything but spicy. I can't handle spicy.
Relationship status: married to the love of my life
Last thing I googled: the definition of "perpetuity" just to make sure I was using it correctly. I was.
Current obsession: Still Severia and Nero. My brain chemistry revolves around then now. I wonder if I'll ever get over them.

Fandom Peeps to Get to Know Better
tagged by: @dragonsongmakhali and @wisteriaphyte Thanks!
Three ships I like: Hmmm... To be honest I've never been much into shipping. So I'm going to cheat by naming my own OTP.
Severia and Nero have had me in a choke hold for years now. They show no sign of relenting.
Noloty Malche and Enlike Bishile from Tatakau Shisho (The Book of Bantorra). This is a bit of an obscure LN series but I love it to death and reread it regularly and these two destroy me every time. (You might recognize the names from my occasionally mentioned alt, Noloty Bishile.)
Lumine and Childe from Genshin Impact. I don't play the game anymore, but I still can't resist this ship. Of course I played Lumine and Childe just captured my heart. Their chemistry is so good.
First ship ever: Probably Snape and Hermione. Yes, I was one of those.
Last song you heard: Got My Mind Set On You by George Harrison, which is on my Severia and Nero playlist.
Favourite childhood book: I've been a voracious reader since I could read and I read a lot as a child but I'm not sure what my favorite would be. Maybe the Chronicles of Narnia books. I've read them all so many times.
Currently reading: Prism Cloud by Jeff Wheeler from the Harbinger series. It's the 4th book in the series which has been really enjoyable so far.
Currently watching: A number of anime from the winter 2025 season. Including the Apothecary Diaries, My Happy Marriage and Blue Exorcist. (Waiting for Re:Zero and Unnamed Memory to start.)
Currently consuming: Energy.
Currently craving: More sleep.
Tagging: I'm not sure who's done this already. But I'd love to get to know all my followers so if you follow me and haven't done it yet, then I'm tagging you! Yes, you!

Number 2 from my Severia playlist for @starvoidsailor!
youtube
This song is called "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence" from the Japanese movie of the same name, played by the ensemble Mahora on traditional Japanese instruments. I've never seen the movie, but I thought the music in this video was beautiful.
Severia spent a large portion of her upbringing in Yanxia and Doma and picked up a lot of their culture, including instruments. So I have several videos on her playlist that feature instruments such as the koto and shamisen.
Thanks for making a request!

There not yet 69 songs on my ship playlist so this one has to come from the Severia playlist.
This song is just really beautiful and emotionally moving and I find the lyrics are perfect for Severia as the WoL.
youtube
Kamado Tanjiro's Song from Demon Slayer.
I can't turn back, I can't return home There's a deep, yawning darkness A tender sound that makes you want to cry No matter the pain
Go forward, go forward, keep going ahead Cut away the despair Even with all I've lost, even with all I've lost I have no choice but to keep living Even if I am beaten down There are things to protect
If there is nothing but this fate for me, I will be prepared for it Even if I struggle and claw through the mud There's a thin thread that can't be seen And a tender sound that makes you want to cry No matter the frustration Go forward, go forward, keep facing ahead Cut away the despair Even with all the pain, even with all the pain I have no choice but to stand up again There are things to protect
