Royalty verse info: The four kingdoms, pt 4! (technically 5, but we're ignoring the issues the Plains post had)
Vasyri
- Technically they're considered the youngest of the 4 kingdoms, because they had absolutely no leader figures, unlike the others, until very recently.
- The current ruler is Sivel Eszenra Vasyri, and he has only officially been named Luminary within the year...maybe even within the last 6 months, I can't decide for sure. Either way, the people of Vasyri seem to adore him very much, and he cares deeply for his people, in turn. He isn't married to Quella just yet, but there are rumors circulating that the two will likely end up binding themselves to each other soon.
- Sivel is supported in his ruling efforts by the High Scholasticate. These are beings that were originally known as keepers of knowledge among the people of Vasyri, and though that's still their primary function, they've since sworn themselves to Sivel's cause of creating peace between Vasyri and the other 3 kingdoms.
- Though Vasyri is primarily inhabited by the Vasyrus, there are quite a few other species that live here as well! Most of them being magic users of some kind or another!
- The Vasyrus here are the only completely ageless species, and I reason that it's okay because most of them end up dying fairly young anyway, when they lose control of their magic. (orz) I'd say average lifespan for them is only about 250 years, though if they make it past that, they can easily live for a few thousand years. (I'd say maybe 3000 would be the next average?)
- While the Vasyrus tend to be a species that never settles into one place, and wanders most of their lives, they have very few towns and settlements. Most are more trading posts than anything, or places where other species have made their homes...though in all honesty, most of those are ultimately meant to be temporary, as well.
- Vasyri's capital is extremely new, and the people of the kingdom have taken to simply call it The Convocation. A lot of trade happens here, but it is also where the people of Vasyri tend to go to exchange information. Another common thing people come to The Convocation for, is learning, as it houses what is likely the single largest archives in...just about any kingdom, I'm sure.
- Vasyri's monolith is called Nereius, and floats in place in the large pools of magic that surrounds the Grand Archives...so it's technically beneath Vasyri's palace, which is connected to said archives.
- Nereius, and those that worship it, are heavily aligned with elemental energies and magics (minus light and dark), as well as emotion. I will say that worship of Nereius is a very quiet thing, and most people don't discuss it. Essentially, it's seen as more of a personal thing than anything else.
- One of the reasons that Vasyri is on kind of thin ice with the other kingdoms, is something that is mentioned above in the bit about the Vasyrus' mortality. The Vasyrus are essentially beings made of magical energy, and in certain cases, even slight imbalances in that energy can cause them to lose control and start to break down. This breakdown manifests as a large, and extremely destructive blast of magic that always results in the death of the Vasyrus that lost control.
- Not many people realize what this loss of control is, because up until extremely recently, most of Vasyri's people are nomadic and live their lives traveling in small groups (if not alone), and thus there...isn't really a lot that's known about those that live there. Even some Vasyrus don't know about it, if that says anything.
- Anyway, their relationship with Setia is currently the worst, and many say that the two are on the verge of a war.
- Next would be their relationship with Ahnia, which...though they're technically neutral with each other officially, there are a lot of Ahnian people that are openly antagonistic to those from Vasyri. Currently though, the relationship between Ahnia's king, and Sivel, Vasyri's Luminary, is actually pretty decent. (I'll also take this as a good time to say that, in the regular verse timeline, this is very shortly before the war between the Setana and Ahniri, and the Vasyrus breaks out. So. Take from that info what you will.)
- Their relationship with the Aifaen is probably the only one that can actually be considered a decent one, as the two have a more or less mutual respect of each other. Even if both sides are also a little wary of the other.
