Still haven't caught sight of Drag Strip's or Wildrider's names, but that's three out of five components of Menasor who show up in the race alone.

hey love your humanformers i was wondering how each pair got into dating each other since it looks like that motormaster doesnt seem to approve romantic relationships
heheheheheheheh i live for these questions please keep ‘em coming
i haven’t solidly decided how i wanted this group to start, but i do know it started back when they were younger. back then it was just a simple case of Motormaster seeing what he had and splitting the team into pairs for different missions (team Dragbreak for robberies and scouting jobs vs team Heatmark for intimidation, fighting and territory takeover jobs). obviously, the more they split, the more they got to know each other personally. (oh god this got long i’m SORRY)
Wildbreak fell hard, and poor boy fell fast for his partner. he was always scared of everything (about getting caught by the cops or WORSE), so he ended up clinging to the security of having a partner backing him up, even if said partner was rude and calling him an idiot constantly. this dependence turned into “love” in Wildbreak’s heart and mind, and no, this isn’t a healthy start for sure. during an argument the two had after narrowly escaping a botched robbery, Wildbreak confessed, and Dragstrip got really mad. it was hard enough having someone actually care for this asshole of a dude, but Dragstrip literally couldn’t understand how the hell Wildbreak could love him at all. they had split up, and stayed apart as long as Dragstrip could let them be, until Motormaster forced them to work together again. on that particular mission, when things got violent with some street thugs they stole from, Wildbreak ended up taking a pretty bad gunshot to his right arm, and went unconscious. by the time he woke up, Dragstrip had dragged him to a construction site and fixed up his arm best he could. they talked, and Dragstrip ended up yelling about his insecurities, and how Motormaster’s torment of him over the years had made him believe he’s not going to get anywhere in life, so when someone like Wildbreak comes along saying stuff about loving him, he assumed he was lying because he HAD to have been. there’s no way anyone could care about a worthless piece of trash like him. it was at that point Wildbreak got enough energy in him to land a strong punch to Dragstrip’s arm, telling him to shut up and stop degrading himself. Wildbreak proceeded to list off everything amazing quality he found in Dragstrip over the past few months they had worked together, and how lucky he was to have a partner like him, and that he wouldn’t stand for anyone telling him the things we was feeling were false. it was a loud discussion between the two in an otherwise quiet area, that ultimately silenced itself when Dragstrip kissed the ever loving heck out of Wildbreak. their relationship is rocky as hell, but they manage it well enough, often saving their flirting and fucking for their private missions, cause hell knows what Motormaster would do to them if he found out.
in Heatseeker and Slashmark’s case, they just couldn’t get along for the longest time. their personalities were too opposite; Heatseeker was loud, boisterous and in your face, while Slashmark was snarky, calm and rational. if Slashmark had a dime every time he told Heatseeker to shut up, he would’ve owned their town. the only thing they DID have in common however, was confidence in themselves. during their assignments, they’d constantly be challenging each other to things like, “I bet I could break more noses than you” and “Last one to get to other end of the warehouse has to buy drinks”. the more they did these stupid games, the more each found themselves not caring if they won or lost if it meant seeing their partner light up in amusement like they did. unlike the Dragbreak team, there wasn’t a huge emotional outburst that came with their romance. rather, one night at a bar, toasting to a battle well fought with bloody knuckles to prove it, their games became childish. they started playing 21 questions and truth or dare just to find out more about each other, with the punishment for avoiding a question being a drink. they knew they couldn’t try this shit in front of the rest of the team, lest they be mocked or worse. it was actually Slashmark, after having six shots, that made the first move unintentionally, daring Heatseeker to go kiss the most attractive person in the bar, not knowing his partner would without hesitation grab him the collar and pull him in for a kiss that made him see stars. after that, they realized that despite their differences, they just clicked and decided despite it being a stupid thing to do, they’d try dating in secret.
both pairs end up finding each other out when one of their post-mission dates (just walking in a park at night hold hands)ended up colliding with each other. they made a pact to keep their secrets on the down low, and above all else, never EVER rat each other out to Motormaster.
thing is, Motormaster knows. he knew even before the pairs started dating something would happen. he uses it to his own advantage, pulling his henchman’s heartstrings like a puppet master to make them work for him. like, “maybe i should let your partner go with someone else if you keep up your blundering” and “if you’re not up to doing this dangerous thing, maybe your partner would be”.
......this was very long but i hope i got the point across fjdkhdfkj sorry readers
