quite a fair chunk of shit happened i think. when i redownloaded the app i weighed up if i was gonna make a post abt what's happened, but ultimately decided against it bc i wasnt sure how active i was gonna be. looks like the answer is very, so i might as well for anyone who's curious (:

on with the details in no particular order!

just before we stopped posting, we mentioned how the company we worked for announced big profits, an expenses-paid trip for the top employees, and also the tiny small news that the team we were on was getting downsized from 20 ppl total to about 3 (6 to 1 for my role specifically). well, we did end up losing our job completely because the company was unwilling to make reasonable adjustments so we could move to the same role in a different team (we don't have any legal grounds to take action unfortunately). but this was fine for us bc we grew jaded with how management was doing shit anyway. they also laid off about 700 people from across the company a few months later.

we spent months trying to find a job, and eventually applied to university on a whim. we got in! we're studying game design and are currently in foundation year (level 0) of the course. we were pretty worried about "fitting in" and suff but honestly we made friends instantly and it turns out a lot of lgbt autistic folks are studying game design foundation year. strange! (/s). its a little weird being part of the popular clique now.

we built a site. a real one! with colours and scripts and all that! a couple sites, actually, but only one is what we're comfortable sharing publicly (other site is sys member info for friends to reference). the site is on neocities, available here. we got really into coding for realsies around the time that we stopped posting. we also got into something called choicescript, but the site took priority as we use it as a digital portfolio. we also started practicing API work by making little tools for the discord bot pluralkit, but they are. uh. far from finished

we got an rgb bulb that actually works with shortcuts, so it inspired us to actually code shortcuts again. they're pretty advanced now; we have a series of them dedicated to forcing us to sleep (it obviously isnt working given i'm still awake at 4am !!), but they're really smooth and helpful

we started drawing properly again (i know we've posted a lot of art on here but most of it is low effort memes. and also none of it was trad art, which we got back into), in order to prep for being asked for a portfolio for uni. which we eventually didnt even get asked for. we opened an instagram account to post it to while we work on getting our art on our actual site, and recently a deviantart account for crossposting.

i stopped writing. i also largely stopped building on my ideas for games and comics and such. this was more because i had More Pressing Things to be writing about, like our CV, and our applications, but i havent really picked it back up. in a bit of a plateau of inspiration rn. wanna fix that though.

we started playing hotline miami, which we'd been meaning to do for years. completed the first, got halfway into the second before a TERRIBLE AWFUL THUMB INJURY (dramatic. didnt even need glue) rendered us entirely unable to use a controller. it healed but we havent finished the second yet. today's actually the first time since august that we've even touched a controller, let alone played any games.

we got back into making music. we decided the system was going to start releasing music as a collective, so we set up a whole youtube channel and stuff for it. videos'll start january 1st, we hope.

i convinced two people to watch red vs blue. my token cishet guy friend who was my colleague at Shitty Workplace (i sent him slutty locus from earlier and his only response was "amazing") and one of my new uni friends (very autistic i think they will go feral for it). token cishet just finished season 8 and uni friend is in season 3 i believe.

health wise has been. a ride... our normal gp stopped practicing entirely, and we dont trust the other gp's at our clinic, so we've been entirely unmedicated and unchecked since november of last year, barring OTC stuff. except for the part where at the end of october we finally saw a rheumatologist (after being referred in 2019!) who said we probably had fibromyalgia. earlier this month we also caught some Mystery Illness that lasted two weeks and nobody knew what it was. our voice still hasnt recovered fully and the whole experience was weird, but the hospital nurse wasnt concerned and it didnt come back as positive for That One Illness That Got Really Popular In The Last Three Years so its honestly likely that it was just the regular old flu, which we werent used to after only really suffering from Disabled Person Sicknesses for the best part of the last 15 years.

we met steve downes and jen taylor, the voice actors of halo's master chief and cortana! got photos & signatures (: steve complimented my jacket and jen Really Wanted A Nap.

WE GOT THE GRIFBALL PLUSH (: i would make this bigger if i could. it's just one of those Material Gains that has a lot of sentimental value to us. and i found my glow in the dark ring which i cried about. again: material gains of high personal significance.

so yeah! a lot. im probably missing something because i have the brain of a sieve. but we're alive and thats the important part.

Im just- kind of scared i suppose? It would make slot of things make sense though- why I like using multiple avatars to show myself, why I mentally talk to myself more often.. And it could be why I have all of this extra anxiety and why I am the way I am. I'm just- scared of what will happen after. Sure, I'll get a lot of Clarity and answers, but it'll bring up so many questions. Am I really genderfluid or is it someone else fronting? Do I really role play as a certain character or is it that character fronting and acting as themselves? What are their names? How many are there? It just.. It scares me and it comforts me at the same time. I try to shove it into the back of my head and tell myself "Oh, I'll deal with it later!" Or "oh, I'll talk about it when I get therapy!" But the thought keeps popping up. I'm not sure what to do. I know my friends and family will support me (hell, A few of them are systems) im just. Scared of the change, I suppose?

Im sorry for rambling, alot of thoughts have built up in this head of mine..

I’d say ask a therapist about it, ask a discord server (a really good one to find out more about this stuff in is the Therian Territory discord server, it has sections for plural ppl, plural faq, and to ask questions), or just google or go on Reddit. Research is key. All plural experiences are different. Hope you feel better!

I cannot for the LIFE of me think of anything specific but I did meet my gf on tumblr rp and my faves tend to be the fucking emotional drama between her Sync (Tales of the Abyss) and my Etude (OC) these siblings are SO emotionally stunted it's hilarious.

Hmm I can't think of anything specific? I usually write if I'm motivated enough, and I usually have music on. If I'm having a problem with motivation I either use a wheel to decide which muse to do threads for or if a muse is awake I just do all the threads that they're in at one time.

✉ : On average, how long does it take you to write a reply that you’re pleased with?

I don't keep track of how long I take to write something tbh... all my replies are kinda like first drafts bc by the time I'm motivated enough to write I have a decently solid idea of how I want my reply to go. For the actual writing... anywhere between 10-30 min as long as I don't get distracted by something else.

With other ppl for sure!! Discord and tumblr are my two go-tos for writing lmao it's more fun to write with other ppl than to write by myself (like with fics or something [pls don't ask what my ao3 username is I'll die]) tho I do sometimes write by myself if I have enough inspiration and motivation.

hey anon! honestly, thus far from what i've seen the server is very accepting and welcoming! i myself am lgbtq+ and nd, and they've accepted me with open arms. i've seen/interacted with multiple trans people in there, they have they/them and any/ask pronouns roles you can apply to yourself (of course binary prns as well), and there have been multiple trans headcanons talked about! and i also love that people hype each other up in the cosplay chat.

with any public discord server of course there is a risk of bigoted freaks joining, but as far as i've seen it's a really nice place with active mods that are accepting themselves, so even if someone gets rowdy they'll be shut down quickly. i don't talk in discord servers i join very often aside from a select few, but i actually feel pretty comfortable talking there! i'd say an overall positive place! :)

I actually have a question about larping! my boss let me know where there's a community here that larps, though in unsure of doing anything until covid cases are lower since where I am is a very major city with lots rising cases and I would be at high risk. so I know where to go when I feel comfortable to do activities but is there any things to know as a first time larper, things I should prep for? I play dnd so I'm not really worry about getting into character much and the roleplay aspect gets lost once I start but I can be a little shy around new ppl 😓😓

Ahhh I’m excited for you,I’m glad you have a larp community to get into! It does depend on the type of larp they do I suppose because there’s different rated systems. You’ll want to look into if it’s a boffer larp or a full contact/full speed combat larp,or if it’s more roleplaying,or if there’s any fantasy or a magic system built into the game. The larps I do are full contact/full speed with official liscenesed weapons,which means you go into a battle and literally beat the shit out of each other with the kinds of weapons you find through Epicarmoury. Not all larps are like that,so you’ll want to google what you’re getting yourself into to be prepared and so you know at least on a basic level,what kinds of rule systems they work off of. It’s great that you play dnd already because that’s definitely prepped you in some ways. First time larpers often struggle the most with getting into the role play and taking it seriously or going into an event with an actual created character they’re playing.

For any new larper the main tips I have are for putting together a kit on the cheap. Larping is,unfortunately,a very expensive hobby,and it can be incredibly intimidating looking at cool gear and people’s whole kits and seeing just how much it is. Armor is expensive,leather is expensive,fabric is expensive,handmade goods are expensive. In the five years I’ve been larping I’ve sunk well over $2,000 into just the kit I wear and that’s on the cheaper side for the kind of armor and kit I have because I’ve made a good portion of it myself. But don’t let the $800 armor and $200 cloth outfits freak you out.I went to my first larp with $120 put into a kit and you don’t have to pour a bunch of money into your outfit to look cool. Just remind yourself that the big larpers on social media who are really intimidating and have phenomenal kits have sunk a colossal amount of money and time into what you’re seeing.

For starters I recommend that if you have any crafting ability to make what you can yourself. Even if you don’t sew,I recommend teaching yourself the basics so you can at least sew something as basic as a tunic or leg wraps,or hem a cape. The super foundational pieces to your kit can add up to be expensive if you buy them from places like Berschneider or Armstreet or other big larp companies. But they’re simple and cheap things to do yourself. Muslin and linen are great fabrics and you can often find them on sale,fabricstore.com is my go to place for high quality linen. Thrift stores and eBay will be your best friend,and they’re great places to find shoes,leather,used larp gear,furs,belts,and other knickknacks.

But the #1 thing I recommend for someone new is to contact and talk with people you’re going to larp with. Most groups have Facebook pages or discords. Experienced larpers 100% understand that it’s an expensive hobby to break into and going into your first or first few events,I recommend asking a group if there are extra weapons or gear that people wouldn’t mind sharing so you don’t have to buy a high priced larp weapon going straight into it. Larpers are extremely generous people eager and willing to share gear as long as it means getting new people into it. We understand not having all the essentials and we also depended on other people for stuff like weapons when we first started,and it’s very much a mentorship,right of passage type dynamic you’ll find with experienced larpers and people new to it!

And if you get into it and want to buy your own weapons and more expensive gear that’s an investment,be sure to keep a lookout on sites like epicarmoury or medieval collectibles,they do Black Friday,winter, and spring sales out of larp season on high priced gear. Etsy is also a wonderful place to find handmade and custom gear for super descent prices. Larp is huge in Eastern Europe so you’ll find a ton of sellers from the Ukraine and even Russia who make really nice stuff very affordable. If you want any specific recommendations for shops or gear you can totally message me,god knows I’ve spent plenty of money.

I hate people. Really, if i don't have to deal with other ppl's shit ever again it would be too soon. I just want to be at peace, just want to do my thing. But it's so hard when ppl are constantly playing games and projecting their issues on you. I'm done putting up with their nonsense or playing by their rules. That is good, better than the alternative of just allowing them to push you around. But constantly having to push back is so fucking exhausting. I hate discord and conflict, and I'm just constantly mired in it. I wish i could go back to my younger self when i just walked the fuck away from those who caused drama or pushed my buttons. But at some points in your life, it simply isn't possible... you're trapped in all these roles that require you to maintain all these fucked up relationships... sigh.
