HemlockClan - “The Poison That Heals”

HemlockClan made their home in a pine forest with absurdly soft mossy ground.  The other Clans regarded them as strange, stupid, and air-headed.  HemlockClan cats certainly tended to be more spiritual than their neighbors, and had quite the number of superstitions- you’d never find a Hemlock cat stepping into a circle of mushrooms, that’s for sure!

HemlockClan named themselves after water hemlock, a deeply poisonous plant that’s one of the few flowers that grows on their territory.  They have a number of beliefs about poison, chiefly among them being that it’s the most dignified way to die.  HemlockClan cats, upon coming to the realization that their death is approaching, will seek out poison to consume.  Healers will feed their patients poison as they die.  Bodies are laid to rest among hemlock flowers by the oldest cats due to their deadliness.  These beliefs are where the Clan’s motto, “The Poison That Heals”, comes from.

HemlockClan brought moss, sweet woodruff, sweatroot, and wild ginger as trade with the other Clans.  Though healers highly appreciated the herbs, the moss was in high demand from everyone else due to its softness.

The last known HemlockClan leader was Sandstar.  Her deputy and healers were Erminedrift, Skyflake, Beachbee, and Pinepaw respectively.  There are no known HemlockClan survivors at this time.

Took about 14 hours (8 hours hike going up, 6 hours going back to base) and we did zero research, expecting it to be a quick day hike hahahaha. Packed lunch was nothing but skyflakes and a can of tuna that we split between us.

Was indeed a muddy adventure. Although I would never do this again, glad to have experienced this still.

ok ok confirmed masama pakilasa ko,... kahapon kasi ang kati ng lalamunan ko dry cough, tas kagabi naligo nga ako maaga pa yon mga 9 pm malamig na tubig pinapaligo tas ayon bigla ako nilamig hahaha yung parang kinuryente katawan ko, natatawa pa ako non kasi kutob ko naman na nga na magkakatrangkaso ako, so after ko maligo take agad ng med. nakatulog ako agad, tas ito gising na may sinat sinat pa may ubo pa din masakit kasukasuhan, may gana naman ako kumain pero bakit ang pait ng skyflakes haha confirmed mawawalan ako ng panlasa.

Hazels always loves eating Halo-halo... and I can't explain but I'm sure she loves Mr. Chips

didnt keep up with whale weekly moby dick but ishmael is soo right. feel so ill mentally that you think you might just snap one day and hurt someone. put in a world that seems ill-equipped to handle it or care or give you what you need that isolation seems like the only option. except instead of resigning myself to being a sailor in constant step with the sea im in my room eating skyflakes.
