If Arthur was a single dad, would he ever find someone else after enough time had passed after D's death? (Which is sad to think about, but interesting to explore). Also, Gil would probably still have plenty of people to look after him in theory, but would he want a new mom? I'm very curious to see where this goes if it is applied. And of course, my noodle is here to support his alternate if he needs it. -mysteryhunterarthur mun

Oh, all interesting questions...and honestly I haven’t thought far enough into the idea. I will say that the only solid idea I had is Gilgamesh would’ve never have meet Mr.D who died probably right as he was born (by probably using his magic to instead protect Gil from harm, which lets face it probably would be Rama cause that dude would) or after he was born (same scenario)...it would be very sudden and especially a shock given Mr.D is immortal and it’s very hard to kill his species.

So, I’d imagine it be a long while if ever Arthur would find someone else and probably be a little shut-off or least a little more guarded...and hell of protective of Gilgamesh in the process, since it’s pretty set in stone Gilgamesh own magic isn’t powerful (which had to do also with Mr.D’s health physically and mentally during his pregnancy;which I explained in more detail in another art piece) and thus his magic can hurt him if he’s not careful/uses a spell that’s too powerful for him. It safe to say Arthur would be a very protective father over his son...which sometimes Gil wishes he wasn’t so overly protective and doesn’t understand it (cause I imagine Arthur wouldn’t talk much about Mr.D for sometime, cause painful memories and such; Gil wouldn’t even know his ‘mom’ was a djinn either).

Vivi, Lewis, Uncle Lance, and such definitely helped Arthur when he needed it...and keep a watchful eye on Gil, making sure he’s okay (not just for his sake but for Arthur’s too). Gil definitely loves his extended family a lot, but again doesn’t like how much they fuse over him (Lewis would probably fuse the most and watches him like a hawk).

As for wanting a new mom...I don’t think he’d mind if his Dad did find someone special again, but also be protective. Cause he knows Arthur rarely talks about ‘mom’ and whatever happened, he doesn’t want his Dad to go through more heartbreak. So, he’s not hostile but he’d definitely be like ‘one wrong move and I will bite BU’ deal.

So...it definitely be fun to explore if I do implement it here or least make it an AU scenario that can played around in X’3
