Hear me out:
Rex being desensitized to any kind of gorey thing, or at the very least he isn't scared of anything Emmet is anymore.
BECAUSE, at this point, he's seen things much more horrifying than blood or guts, or mangled corpses, or any of the standard horror movie scary things.
Like after Undar his view of reality is so fucked up to the point he just doesn't register what should be horrifying to a normal person as something he should be worried about.
He spent so much time in the 'real world', seeing the kids playing with the legos that he's bound to have seen them take the minifigures apart to build new ones.
Sooo, he's gonna have an even bigger existential crisis. And that's just him falling into the 'nothing is real' mindset. So if he does see these things when he's back in his world.
He can still process the fact that you know dead person. But he's just having less of a freaked-out reaction compared to what Emmet would have.
Raptors could also contribute to his apatheticness because of how they attack/eat things. Hmmmm.
Does this make sense? My thoughts are all over the place

Ok, I know I normally post about Marvel and Wings of Fire, but I've been needing a place to get this out and here seems like the best place.
Apologies if this doesn't entirely make sense, when I'm emotional I find it hard to word things correctly.
Ahem. Without further ado,,,
Hazbin Hotel Fans need to Understand what a Headcanon Is.
(argument after the break to save space.)
Hi. I'm an Alastor fan. I have been since the pilot. I'm an Alastor fan, and I am sick and tired of other Alastor "fans" attacking people like me.
What do I mean?
My personal headcanon for Alastor is that he started out 'working for' and endorsing the hotel with full intentions of betraying everyone's trust and using the hotel for his own gain. However, over the show, he genuinely grows fond of the people he's around, (as said by him to Nifty--a person he trusts), and after the battle, he begins to regret this, and starts to rethink his strategy. (That's what his part in The Show Must Go On is hinting at.)
If I were to say this on TikTok, I would be hounded by Alastor 'fans' who think they know everything and think he is The Big Bad.
Ok, first off, correct me if I'm wrong, but in a live stream, wasn't it said that Alastor is Chaotic Neutral?
News flash, a lot of characters perceived as "good guys" are Chaotic Neutral.
Learn What A Morally Grey Character is please for the love of God. Or Lucifer. Whatever.
The way most people think Alastor is going to end up is leaning more towards evil, not neutral.
Now I'm not saying Alastor is a good guy! I'm just saying,
Don't attack people for headcanoning his character.
As far as I'm aware, nothing has been confirmed yet. You CANNOT say You Are Right when What You Are Talking About Has Not Been Confirmed.
Could you be right about Alastor being the big bad?? Yes!!! But could I also be right about him being the "meant to betray them but now is regretting it" trope? Also Yes!!!!!!
Hazbin Fans, I am begging you. Please, please learn media literacy before speaking and please PLEASE understand YOUR HEADCANONS ARE NOT LAW.
Not everyone has to agree with your headcanon because it is not canon.
As I stated before, I'm not trying to make people agree with my headcanon with this post, I'm simply saying that you need to understand that until things are confirmed, everyone's Headcanons are valid, and you Do Not have the right to shove yours down everyone's throats, especially not people who clearly believe in something else.
I really hope I made my point clear, and I really hope I don't get attacked for this!! Withthisfandomitsunclear
If you got this far, please have a good day/night, and I thank you for hearing me out!
#hazbin hotel#hazbinhotel#hazbin alastor#alastor#hellaverse#hot take#please dont kill me#but this has been bothering me#i cant even listen to the finale song without feeling sick because of the way people have been reacting to my hc#this is wild

Welcome to your life - Pt 1:
Everybody Wants To Rule THEIR World Ch 13:
Summary:
"You need only close your eyes to it and be happy and safe with us."
The Keeper (player) has already secured the repository and Sebastian's loyalty, emboldening his descent into darkness. Now, they just need to win over Ominis, cure Anne, and create a domain to call their own.
And not necessarily in that order.
The Keeper's tale, a post-game story of a morally-grey, pragmatic, Chaotic Neutral, non-binary, muggleborn, orphan player character, so burned by 1800s orphanages, that they became a power hoarder who demands more payment for quests, burns paintings but doesn't want to rule the world, just their own territory and the two boys who'd caught their eye.
Warnings: Sebastian x MC x Ominis! Spoilers! Dark content! Slow-burn canon-compilant corruption! Fucked up 1800s orphanages! MC has no love for Anne or Solomon! Dubious happy ending (it's happy for MC, Seb and Ominis at least).
You can also read on AO3! (chapter specific warnings below)
Notes:
Warnings: Canon-typical violence, descriptions of blood and injuries, all that fun stuff.
So, I'm about to be a Game/Dungeon Master for a homebrew DnD campaign for the first time tomorrow, and I'm absolutely terrified- wish me luck and I hope ya'll like the chapter! TvT
Ominis hummed absently as he tended to the small garden outside the Feldcroft house. The Keeper had brought back some Plantain seeds with them from their last trip to Dìon Castle for him to plant in their garden.
It never hurt to have some on hand, in case they needed a healing salve for internal injuries that wiggenweld couldn't heal.
Hearing the sound of the front door opening and footsteps approaching, Ominis lifted his head curiously. From the light and carefully measured footsteps, it was likely to be the Keeper, since Sebastian’s stride was more quick and confident.
"Heading to Dìon?" Ominis asked with a small smile.
He’d come to realise over the school break, that the Keeper was always doing something. The only time they were still, was when they were thinking and planning, or sleeping.
He really wished they did the last one more often, Ominis simply couldn’t understand how they could function with so little sleep. Somehow, they’d even managed to find the time to complete their holiday homework while juggling their management of the castle.
The Keeper's voice reached his ears. "Yes, I'll be checking on the elves and I found a cave down by the lake I wanted to search for limestone."
"Alone?" Ominis' concern was plain in his voice, exploring was dangerous, especially without magic.
The Keeper chuckled fondly. "No, I will be exploring with Sebastian and Tynx, if and when Sebastian finally gets off the bed."
"I'll kick Sebastian awake if he doesn't get up soon then." Ominis shook his head with a wry smile.
"Tell him to get his arse to Dìon or I'll go without him." The Keeper's voice drifted away with a playful lilt, followed by a gust of wind.
Ominis brushed a hand over his hair, checking for any stray strands that might have been tossed by the Keeper’s broom. How did they even get such a fast one-
"Was that the fifth year mudblood?" A scathing masculine voice grated on Ominis' ears from somewhere off to the right. It sounded vaguely familiar.
"Looks like, what the fuck is that thing doing in a wizarding village like Feldcroft?" That voice was easier to recognise, a boy from the Macnair family, which helped Ominis place the other voice as Selwyn.
What in Merlin's name were those sixth-year bullies doing here?
"Oh, Sallow's guest? Well, they've been living with him since the break began." A feminine voice replied, one of the Ndiaye twins, Ominis easily figured.
"Sallow? I guess he has been hanging with it recently, can't believe he'd let that thing live with him, doesn't it stink the place up?" Selwyn sniggered nastily and Ominis struggled to quell the anger that swelled in his chest.
"We should teach it that it doesn't belong in a village like this, let alone our noble House." Macnair spat. Ominis tensed in alarm.
"Babe, come on, let's not waste time talking about other people." Another voice joined the conversation Ominis was eavesdropping on, that was definitely the other Ndiaye twin sister.
"Yeah, it's not every day we have the house to ourselves." The first sister's flirty voice reasserted itself.
"...fine." Macnair's voice was reluctant but quickly switched back to a cocky drawl. "Did I mention that we're able to use magic outside of school now?"
"Wow, really?" The second Ndiaye twin tittered in exaggerated amazement.
"Of course…"
Ominis relaxed as the giggles of the girls and the boys' voices faded into the distance. It looked like the Ndiaye twins were dating a pair of sixth year Slytherin bullies. Great taste. Or maybe it was their money the twins liked.
He'd heard of Macnair and Selwyn bullying half-bloods and muggleborns relatively often. Sadly, with Professor Black as the headmaster, ruffians like them were getting away with it far more than they should.
Hopefully they wouldn't try anything, the next term was their seventh year after all. Surely, they wouldn't compromise their own graduation by doing something stupid only a week before the new school year.
"What's down that alleyway?" The Keeper asked curiously as they shoved the last textbook they'd purchased into their pouch.
Sebastian glanced in the direction they were pointing. "Oh, that's Knockturn Alley."
"Doesn't seem as popular as Diagon." The Keeper mused, noting the way the crowd flowed past the entryway, as though trying not to acknowledge its existence.
"For good reason, Knockturn plays host to many dangerous and unpleasant people." Ominis muttered darkly.
"You've been down that street before, then?" The Keeper asked, their interest growing at that statement.
"Unfortunately." Ominis grimaced. "My family often has dealings with unpleasant people. So, I've been forced to accompany my parents now and then. Trust me, you don't want to go there."
"Well, at least while we can't use magic." Sebastian whispered into the Keeper’s ear with a grin.
"I heard that." Ominis glared in Sebastian's direction. "Trust me, having magic wouldn't make it any less dangerous, particularly for you, Sebastian."
The Keeper shook their head. "I agree. Your emotional self-control is still not ideal for a dangerous encounter that can't end in murder."
Sebastian grumbled but, to his credit, didn't argue. Ominis looked mildly unsettled by the Keeper's wording but also relieved to have had them on his side on the subject.
"Let's get going then, we still need to buy potion materials and I want to check out the rest of Diagon Alley." The Keeper nudged the boys along as they continued past and away from the fork leading into Knockturn Alley.
If Ominis thought the Keeper wasn't eventually going to explore Knockturn Alley on their own, they weren’t going to correct him.
Sebastian'd had a point, traipsing into a dangerous place without magic would be foolish. As such, the Keeper would simply wait till they got an opportunity to investigate during the school year. For now, they would focus on acquiring the materials and textbooks needed for the new term.
Hopefully they’d still have time to see everything Diagon Alley had to offer. They'd already burned a decent amount of the day in a meeting with Fixtlick Flitwick. He'd given them their shiny new vault key, made of goblin silver, and they'd then spent the rest of the meeting discussing the wards they wished to place on the Dìon Castle grounds.
The Keeper had requested some basic wards; the unplottable ward that removes a location from all maps, the anti-apparition ward that prevents apparition within its borders like in Gringotts, a distraction ward like the one on the Leaky Cauldron entrance to Diagon Alley, and an illusion ward that made the plot appear to still be a hill with some ruins rather than a proper castle.
They also got a rather expensive blood binding ward that gave them full control of any magical aspects they add to their territory. Such as detection charms that would go off if anyone approached their land and allowed the Keeper to track intruders. As well as grant or deny the ability to apparate freely and permit access to management of the wards.
These protections would have to do, till they could figure out how to cast the Fidelius Charm. Which would render a majority of the basic wards moot, but the Keeper wasn't going to risk their sanctuary just to save some galleons.
The Keeper paused, noticing Sebastian staring into the window of a gaudy looking shop. They couldn’t imagine what could possibly be attracting his attention in there.
"How much money do we have left?"
"No."
"Come on, Ominis, I haven't even said what I wanted to buy!"
"You don't need to, Sebastian, we don't need it."
"Ominis!"
The Keeper's eyes were narrowed in concentration as they measured and calculated the quantity of limestone that they had been collecting for the last three days from the caves they'd explored with Sebastian. Scribbling notes on the journal that they were using to keep track of the work they'd been putting into the plot over the past five weeks.
It had been slow going, but it wouldn't be very long before they were ready to lay the foundations. Though that would have to wait till after school began in four days. Deciding to keep as many rare plants as they could had turned out to be even more complicated than the Keeper had anticipated.
The sheer amount of rare and valuable plants growing in random spots across the castle grounds had necessitated a tedious amount of planning in order to avoid losing them during clean up. Forcing Ominis and the Keeper to spend hours selecting various locations to temporarily move the potted plants to, where they wouldn't, well, die immediately.
The house elf magic of Tibsy and Tynx had been instrumental in the actual uprooting, potting and relocation of the plants and, over the course of working together, it seemed that the elves were becoming more comfortable around the Keeper.
"Master, we've finished tending the plants, perhaps Master should consider retiring for the night?"
Well, the elves still insisted on calling the Keeper 'Master' despite having been given free rein to call the Keeper literally anything.
The Keeper shot Tynx a lazy smirk. "Giving me orders? You've been spending too much time with Ominis."
"Not at all, Master, merely a suggestion." Tynx lowered his head respectfully, adjusting his coat as he did. "Tibsy has already returned from preparing dinner at the Feldcroft house."
"Is that so?" The Keeper sighed, tucking away their journal. "Very well, Ominis would be upset if I skipped dinner."
"I'll speak with Sebastian about the ratio of clay to limestone needed and give you and Tibsy the verdict tomorrow morning." The Keeper summoned their broom, grasping the handle loosely. "For now, you guys can move the limestone Sebastian and I found to the Keep ruins."
"Yes, Master, have a safe flight." Tynx nodded as the Keeper mounted their broom, waving as they shot off into the night.
The Keeper smiled to themselves, honestly, the development of the castle was going much faster than they’d expected. In the muggle world, such an undertaking would be beyond ludicrous for three sixteen-year-old kids with two slaves.
In the wizarding world, it only took them a little over a month to get reasonably close to being ready to start mixing and compressing the materials to create the foundations. The collection of materials that they needed to build their castle fortress was going surprisingly smooth, thanks to Sebastian's tireless research.
The caves in the area were good sources of limestone and one could easily harvest clay from soil. Fortunately, the dry and cracked earth by the northern mountainside seemed to be particularly rich in said clay. Making cement from them shouldn't be too difficult as long as they got the ratios correct.
Same went for the Cement-stabilised Rammed Earth that they were going to use to craft the castle walls, roofs, and foundations. They'd selected this material for its ease of crafting, incredible durability, unshakeable stability, weatherproof properties, insulating capabilities and excellent shock absorption.
Cement and clay were already checked off the list, sand was easy to gather from the coast, and soil was literally everywhere.
The elves had spent the last three weeks sifting soil for clay, mixing the loose soil with water, and waiting for an hour before pouring away the debris and collecting the wet clay that sank to the bottom with bags made of fine thread. It took about a day for a bag of clay to dry enough to be used, so the Keeper and the boys had kept busy gathering everything else while the elves prepared the clay and tended the plants.
They would soon have somewhere safe to hide the repository and the Keeper could then start experimenting with their power. They could barely wait.
With these thoughts in their head, the Keeper's mood was pleasant as they arrived in Feldcroft, hopping off their broom, tucking it away, and casually strolling down the dirt path to Sebastian's house.
Which was probably the reason that they were caught off guard by a depulso slamming into their side, throwing them into one of the stone fences around the Feldcroft house.
Searing pain erupted across the Keeper’s side as they crumpled to the floor, a few stones coming loose and falling with them. Ignoring the agony, they scrambled to their feet, tucking, and rolling out of the way as a diffindo slashed uselessly against the rock behind them.
Every breath made their side scream in protest, but each throb of pain only pumped more adrenaline through their veins, sharpening their mind and senses. The instinct to fight drowning out their body’s distress.
The darkness was a disadvantage since they couldn't use magic to cast a revelio, but it seemed like their attackers didn't have enough intelligence to shut up or hide.
"Just- hic- die mudblood!" A young male voice spat, slurring through half his sentence as he threw a reducto at them.
"Nowhere to- urk- run! Expulso!" A second target shouted, sounding equally as intoxicated as the first.
The Keeper rolled again, dodging the second spell while the first shot went wide, stopping their body’s momentum behind the temporary safety of a crate.
Taking the momentary respite, the Keeper knocked back a shot of wiggenweld, tossing the bottle aside and rolling again as a bombarda hit the crate.
Seeing the boys staring stupidly at the crate, the Keeper took the opportunity to map the area, their targets were standing just a few feet from each other. Good, it'll be easier to take them both out quickly if they clustered.
Unfortunately, there were many more feet between the Keeper and their targets. The Keeper ducked a glacius, feeling their ribs creak in their chest, the wet cloth covering their side sticking heavily to the ripped skin that was still knitting itself closed along their side.
The Keeper knew they wouldn't be able to fight for very long, so they would need to focus on disarming the targets and prevent them from using their magic.
Pushing themselves, the Keeper sprinted towards the closest boy, dropping to the floor, and swiping their leg out to knock the first target onto his arse.
With a curse the boy went down, and the Keeper wasted no time, punching him square in the face. They felt a satisfying crunch against their knuckles and the boy fell backwards with a muffled wail.
"Galen!" The boy still standing shouted, stupidly throwing a diffindo that barely missed his friend's thrashing form.
Dodging his spell, the Keeper shot towards the second boy. Ducking under his outstretched wand arm, the Keeper threw themselves into his waist, tackling him to the floor.
Twisting their limbs around the boy, the Keeper kicked his wand out of his grip, stomping on his hand and hearing his fingers crunch under their boot. The boy's mouth opened to release screeches of pain, but before they could escape, the Keeper grabbed a fistful of his black hair and shoved his face into the dirt.
"Now, who the fuck are you and why are you trying to kill me?" The Keeper growled into the pinned boy's ear.
Hearing a sound to their left, the Keeper grabbed a rock off the floor and flung it at the other boy as he tried to crawl away. The rock landed square in the cowardly boy's back, knocking him back to the floor as he choked on the blood streaming from his nose.
The Keeper tightened their grip on the pinned boy's hair, about to lift his head so he could answer their questions, when they heard Ominis' worried voice.
"That way Sebastian!"
The Keeper paused, the red haze of battle clearing slightly from their mind. They probably wouldn’t be able to torture their would-be assassins with Ominis nearby. A part of them hissed at being deprived of satisfaction, but a larger part of them couldn't bear to worry him longer than necessary.
With a reluctant sigh, the Keeper raised their voice, feeling a bite in their chest as they did so. "Over here guys."
"What happened!?" Sebastian called out, as he and Ominis rushed over, alarm sharp in his voice when he caught sight of the red patch of torn cloth along the Keeper's side. "You're hurt!"
The Keeper was mildly amused when Sebastian stepped on the other boy’s back, pushing his face back into the blood covered floor uncaringly as he hastened to their side.
"How bad is it!?" Ominis exclaimed, worriedly hovering behind Sebastian.
"I'm fine, I already took some wiggenweld." The Keeper reassured them, standing gingerly. "These two drunk bastards decided to try and kill me out of nowhere."
"You fought off two wand wielding attackers without magic?" Sebastian asked, sounding impressed.
The Keeper shrugged. "I've known my way around a fight long before I took up a wand, and these morons relied too heavily on theirs, didn't even know how to dodge. I don't suppose either of you know who they might be."
The boy they'd been pinning struggled to his knees, trying to crawl away. It was a truly pathetic display.
"I recognise this one from our house, a year above us I think." Sebastian turned to glare at the boy who he'd stepped on before. "That one I'm not sure."
"Selwyn and Macnair, I believe they're dating the Ndiaye twins." Ominis grimaced, feeling guilty for not having mentioned what he'd overheard a few days ago.
"Ah yes, I believe I saw them bullying a half-blood that one time in the Defence Tower." The Keeper mused.
As they spoke, the two injured boys dragged themselves to their feet, standing together as though that would make them look more intimidating.
"Fucking mudblood, I'll tell my father and you'll be sorry for this." Selwyn spat, the words coming out nasally thanks to his broken nose.
To the Keeper's surprise, Ominis scoffed imperiously, his voice cold and biting. "Just try, if we report you to the ministry, the only damaging spells they'd find here are yours."
His sightless eyes narrowed dangerously. "I wonder how humiliating it would be for everyone to know that a wandless muggleborn laid you both out without any effort."
Macnair snarled at the offence, but backed down when the Keeper cracked their knuckles threateningly.
"You'll regret this!" Macnair growled instead, cradling his broken hand as the two bullies limped away.
The moment the two boys were out of sight, the Keeper doubled over with a groan, placing a hand over their ribs. The bleeding had stopped thanks to the wiggenweld but it felt like their ribs were still fractured.
At their movement, Sebastian quickly reached for them, supporting their weight, and letting them lean against him. "Merlin, I thought you said you were fine!"
"I am." The Keeper huffed with a pained grimace. "Relax, it's probably just a fracture, the wiggenweld closed the gashes and started the mending, but it's not as fast as a healer's treatment. I just need some rest before the bones heal fully."
Sebastian shook his head with a sigh. "Come on, let's get you back to the house."
Ominis placed a hand on Sebastian’s arm. "I'll go on ahead to start mixing a plantain salve. It should accelerate the healing process."
"Good idea." Sebastian nodded and Ominis hurried back towards the house at a brisk pace, while Sebastian refocused on the Keeper. "Alright, let's take it nice and easy."
The Keeper chuckled, wincing at the burn it caused. "My hero."
"Here to rescue your victory lap from the tragic fate of ending on your face." Sebastian grinned as he helped them stumble towards the house.
The walk felt far longer than the Keeper thought it should have, but after much effort, they were finally hobbling through the doorway and limping towards the sofa.
Pausing, the Keeper braced themselves against the backrest while Sebastian carefully cut their clothing off their body. Removing their garments, Sebastian placed the bloody cloth on the table and returned to the Keeper's side.
"Easy now…" Sebastian murmured as he helped them settle on the couch carefully.
"We need to clean off the blood." Ominis dragged the tub they used for bathing out from under the kitchen table till it was beside the sofa. "The elves would probably be helpful to give us some water for that."
The Keeper grimaced, they must be more out of it than they'd believed, to not have thought of that sooner. "Tibsy."
With a pop the small elf appeared, immediately she gasped in shock at the drying blood covering their left side. "Master! Are you alright!?"
"I'm fine Tibsy, could you summon some water in the tub?" The Keeper reassured her.
"Of course!" Tibsy snapped her fingers, conjuring water in the tub immediately.
"Thanks." Sebastian nodded, grabbing the cloth that the Keeper normally used to wash with and dipping it in the water.
Wringing out the excess water, Sebastian began to gently clean the blood off the Keeper's torso. "Does it hurt?"
The Keeper shook their head. "Don't worry about that, I'm more eager to be clean so I can lie down."
Ominis sighed as the Keeper evaded the question, shaking his head as he mixed the salve together, grounding up the Plantain with chamomile and adding the powder to a bowl with the wet ingredients.
"There, that should do it…" Sebastian nodded, dropping the cloth back into the, now red, water. Wincing at the sight of the dark bruise forming on the Keeper's skin.
He should have been there. Fighting by their side.
Sebastian felt his stomach twist.
"Hey. Don't do that." The Keeper chided, glaring at Sebastian. "I'm used to magic-less combat, you aren't. You would have been a liability."
Sebastian blinked. "...I don't know if I should feel comforted or offended."
The Keeper shrugged. "Take it however you will, it's simply a fact. Without a wand your presence would not necessarily have prevented my injury. It might have even been worse. So, stop beating yourself up for this."
"They're right Sebastian, we would have been useless in that fight, now move please." Ominis chimed in, holding up an armful of bandages and the bowl of mixed salve.
"Fine fine, I'm just in the way, I get it." Sebastian rolled his eyes as he moved to sit on the other side of the Keeper. While Tibsy snapped her fingers, vanishing the bloody water from the tub.
Ominis placed the bowl and bandages in his lap, searching out the Keeper's left arm and placing it on his shoulder. Running his fingers over the swelling bump, he carefully scooped a handful of the salve to apply over their skin.
"Thank you, Ominis." The Keeper sighed as the cool goo was gently massaged into their side. Ominis would definitely be a great healer, his careful handling of their side was delicate and steady.
After a few moments, Ominis wiped his hand on a cloth and began to bandage the Keeper's torso, Sebastian helping him hold the bandage from the other side intermittently.
The Keeper closed their eyes, they and Sebastian had tended each other's wounds often during their adventures but using magic and wiggenweld was much less personal than doing so the muggle way.
The way that they were used to.
Except that they'd always had to tend their own injuries, no one else had ever given a damn what they were feeling at any given point. So, the Keeper found themselves savouring the feeling of being so gently and lovingly cared for.
"Take a deep breath, how does that feel? It's not too tight, is it?" Ominis asked worriedly as the Keeper took a careful breath, testing the bandage to be certain that they could breathe without issue.
The Keeper shook their head, opening their eyes and gently caressing the back of his neck with the fingers hanging over his shoulder. "No, it feels just right."
Ominis smiled with relief, carefully tying off the end of the bandage and tucking the ends neatly into the folds. After that, he carefully felt the Keeper's left arm and fastened a sling around their neck for their arm to rest in.
Satisfied with his work, Ominis nodded. "There we go, try not to move your left arm too much. Now, all you need to do is rest."
The Keeper gazed at him fondly, Ominis was so sweet. They leaned forward slightly to press a kiss to his forehead. "Yes, Healer Gaunt."
Sebastian covered his laugh with a cough and Ominis rolled his eyes. Leaning back, the Keeper sighed and glanced over at the anxious house elf hovering by the sofa, wringing her soft blue dress in her hands.
Softening their voice, the Keeper gave her a tired smile. "Relax Tibsy, I'll be good as new by tomorrow evening. Could you clean up a little here before returning to Dìon? Let Tynx know that I was injured by some stupid kids and that I won't be dropping by tomorrow."
"O-of course, Master!" Tibsy beamed, quickly snapping her fingers, vanishing the remains of the salve ingredients from the table, sending the bowl to wash itself in the sink and setting the table with dinner. "Please eat, Master, Tibsy will be going now!"
The Keeper snorted in amusement as the house elf popped away and Ominis lightly bopped them on the head in response. "See? Even the elf thinks you should eat more consistently!"
"Both of them apparently." The Keeper chuckled as Sebastian stood.
"Come on then, better follow Healer Gaunt's orders." Sebastian grinned as he helped the Keeper to their feet, supporting them as they made their way to the table.
Ominis sighed in resignation as he followed behind, it looked like the nickname was going to stick. Well, it wasn’t like he really minded that much, especially if it got his reckless lovers to actually take his concerns seriously.
Sitting beside the Keeper, Ominis carefully moved his hand along the table till he found the Keeper's plate and slid it closer to himself. After using his knife and fork to examine the steak's position and size, Ominis carefully began cutting the meat into bite size pieces.
"You could just ask me to do that." Sebastian protested as he poured a glass of water for the Keeper.
Ominis shrugged. "Surely I'm allowed to help too."
"Of course, you are. Thank you, Ominis." The Keeper shot Sebastian a glare as they accepted the glass of water.
Sebastian winced. "I- yes, sorry Ominis, I didn't mean to imply…"
Ominis gave him a wry smile. "It's alright, I understand, and I appreciate the concern."
"You're spoiling him." The Keeper shook their head.
Ominis smirked as he slid the plate back over to the Keeper. "As if you don't."
"Do you have to talk about me like I'm a child?"
"You are."
"I believe you are."
"Oh, come on!"
Notes:
Ominis be like "it's dangerous to go alone, take this." *Picks up Sebastian by the back of his shirt and drops him in front of Keeper.*
Am I the only one who thinks Ominis' hair is incredibly neat? Like, wow, man must spend ages combing and gel-ing every morning.
And I mean, the last fight that Sebastian got hot headed during resulted in a death sooooooo, self-control man, gotta work on that. Also Ominis totally can't even see that the shop Sebastian was looking in was gaudy-

What do you think of each of the smg4 gang members???
OOOOOOOO THIS IS INTERESTING! I will mainly do the SMG4 Crew one since ya know, SMG4 Crew status, anyway, here's what I think of them!!
SMG4 - He's a very silly fella, I love him, but he is also pretty interesting to analyze him as a character and his personality. Too bad some have missed the point for his character. Hopefully this year they touch on SMG4's development this year since 2023 was SMG3's year. Speaking of SMG3...
SMG3 - He's my favorite character as a whole, I mean, can you blame me? LOOK HOW I DREW HIM!!! /silly. Ok in seriousness, like SMG4, SMG3 is pretty interesting on analyzing him, while also sadden that some misses the point of his character. Those two meme guardians basically needed a character analysis on them since they deserve better to let everyone know that those two are more than you think. The only thing I want for him to get even more develop is that he should interact with the other crew outside of the main three (SMG4, Mayro and Meggy).
Mayro/Mario - Mayro is such a fun character, while also a morally grey type that basically a chaotic neutral package! What else can I say! He's a silly Avatar!
Luigi - I like Luigi! It's nice to see that they are using him more than back then I believe (probably like pre-Arc related stuff if I can remember). Would love to see Luigi and SMG3 would interact since they somewhat have a same interest.
Meggy - Oh boy! I know for the fact that 50/50 of peeps either love her or hate her. I am for the former as I like her addition in the cast when she was new to the cast. The only thing that I have a bit of a gripe from her that I do agree is that she was overutilize than the other girls, which I hope this year they will utilize the other girls than just Meggy, ESPECIALLY Saiko and Melony.
Tari - I love Tari!! I even love her Meta Runner counterpart! Glad she got a development last year, especially Western Spaghetti! Hope they made her appear a bit more, but not as the same level as Meggy. Balance is what I need.
Saiko - She's cool, wish they developed her more, since KS-2 mini arc is more of an upcoming redesign for her, which I am not mad about it, I just wish they utilized her more.
Melony - Same opinion for Saiko, except here's the thing, I want to see her and SMG3 interact more since they're like the only Anti-cast crew that joined SMG4 Crew, and according to SMG3's Sussy Notebook, Three seems to have a mixed feeling to the deity melon goddess, which makes it interesting to me. Also, Father-Daughter dynamic headcanon is one of my favorite headcanon I have seen in SMG4 Fandom.
Bob - It's Bob, what else I can say.
Fishy Boopkin - I don't get why everyone hate this kid, I mean sure his voice can sometimes be a headache, but some kids do can be like that ya know. AND YES! I DID SAY KID SINCE CANONICALLY, BOOPKIN IS A KID! NOT MAD, JUST SAYING
anyway, that's all what I think about the gangs!

The Invisible Life of Addie LeRue by V. E. Schwab -- A Review
Trigger Warnings: Death, starvation, suicide attempt, depression, drug addiction, alcoholism, mentions of sex, mentions of oral sex, mentions of rape, prostitution, emotional manipulation, abusive relationship, war, imprisonment, mentions of WWII, sexism, grief, homelessness, family trauma, mentions of homophobia.
My Rating
10/10. My best friend has been telling me to read this for 3 years, and I finally got around to it. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint at all. The way that I felt Addie's pain, joy and fear was incredible, and the little twist at the end was so good. The characters developed and evolved so well. Since Addie has lived 300 years, it does give you a lot to work with, with how she can change, grow and develop. Same with Luc, he was such an amazing character. He is definitely the epitome of chaotic neutral, satisfying his own needs before others, but by no means evil. He has his rules and he plays within them. Luc is neither a villain nor hero. I really love morally grey characters, they are so much fun, and because they are neither good nor bad, you don’t really know what they will do next.
Overview
Addie LeRue asks for a wish she doesn’t understand the consequences of. Being able to live forever and be remembered by no one, is a sure way to become a living ghost. Still determined to find adventure and love, she wanders around in the big wide, ever-changing world, completely alone. Well, except for Luc, who asks every year if she has had enough, asks if she is ready to rest in exchange for her soul. And every year, Addie declines, continuing on to spite Luc. Their back-and-forth game of lies, testing, and gentle touches goes on for three hundred years, until, someone remembers her. And her once lonely existence is not so lonely anymore.
My Thoughts
This whole book revolves around time and feeling like you don't have enough of it. Addie asks for more time saying “... so scared of the years rushing past beneath my feet. I do not want to die as I’ve lived, which is no life at all … I want more time” (pg 46). Luc comments how humans need more time when he is showing Addie how different they are. He states “The vexing thing about time is that it’s never enough. Perhaps a decade too short, perhaps a moment. But a life always ends too soon.” (pg 333). This is something I think everyone can relate to, I’m constantly hearing, ‘Time is flying’, ‘I can’t believe how fast they grow’, or ‘It's already been a year?’. Even for myself, it feels as though every year is passing faster than the last. You always need more time, more time to learn, to love, to live. There will never be enough time “God, what he would give for just another day” (pg. 422). It can be really depressing to think about, how, we as humans only have a little to accomplish so much. But it can also be so invigorating because we don't have a long time we have to do things that matter, that we enjoy. After all, we won't always have the time to do so.
“Because happiness is brief and history is lasting, and in the end, everyone wants to be remembered” (pg 351)
Everyone can relate to this quote. No matter who you are or what you do. People want to be remembered. Whether it is through graffiti, books, inventions or art, people want to leave a lasting impression.
Luc is neither a demon nor a god, Luc has no gender and he is absent of appearance. He simply appears how you want him to appear. For Addie, he is tall dark and handsome. We first meet Luc when Addie feels as though her life is falling apart, she prays after dark and he is the one who answers. When Addie says what she wants, he originally declines “I am not in the business of charity. You ask for too much. How many years until you’re sated? How many, until I get my due?” (pg 47). This deal does nothing to benefit him. It isn’t until Addie says he can have her soul once she is done with it, that he agrees to it. Every anniversary, Luc shows up. Whether or not he makes his presence known, he is always there in the shadows. It originally starts so he can ask if she is ready to give him her soul, to make her cave, saying “Come give me what I want, and the deal will be done, this misery can end” (pg 117) Addie denies him, just to spite him. This continues on for years until it is no longer just to taunt Addie, but it becomes a form of a relationship. Not only is Luc the only person who remembers her and sees her once a year, but Addie is there for Luc. Whether Luc realizes it or not, he desires connection, and Addie has been there for multiple lifetimes, much longer than his normal deals last.
Henry's curse is for people to see what they want to see. I think that this is something that so many people can relate to. We want to fit in, we want people to like us, and especially, we want the people who we love to be proud of us. Henry goes through his life, before Luc, becomes a disappointment, his brother is a doctor, his sister is an art critic, and Henry dropped out of college. He is the black sheep of the family. His ex-boyfriend, whom he loved and deeply missed, wants him back, Robbie says “You were different, we weren’t a fit … You didn't know what you wanted … You have to know who you are. Back then, you didn’t” (pg. 276), but Henry knows that his feelings are not his real feelings. We all want love, and the things that we will do for love can be drastic, “You want to be loved. You want to be enough” (pg.248). When you know that they don’t love you, they love the idea they have created for you, sure, it feels nice in the beginning. But it doesn't last long, it is not real, and sometimes it can hurt more than not being loved. Because it isn't you. “Henry has no idea who he is, and now, neither does anyone else” (pg 276).
Throughout Henry and Addies time together, Henry made a point to record Addies life. So people could remember her and speak her name. A year after Addie's disappearance, Henry published her biography as a work of fiction. Not only was he able to keep the memory of Addie alive, so people could, in a way, know her, but he also found something to do. Instead of feeling like he is existing for no reason, just taking up space. I thought it was such a cool idea to have us read the whole book, looking at it as if it was all fantasy. And having that reveal that it was a biography. It really makes us as the audience feel as though we could be part of this world, as we would never remember seeing Addie, and this is a book we just read. And we can really resonate with Bea’s anger at the end of the book when Addie just disappears, we also feel that anger/loss that Addie and Henry are not able to stay together.
Conclusion
I loved this book. I thought it was so interesting how it jumped around from times. Sure it was a little confusing at times, but it was able to make us understand why Addie would react a certain way, or how it affected her. I think this would be a great first book for someone new to fantasy, as it is low fantasy. Meaning it takes place in our world, with our history. You should definitely read this.

Heyy !
☀️ Sun - What's your favorite part of your WIP?
and
⚡️Lightning - Have you ever spontaneously added something to your story that you wouldn't have added normally? If so, what made you do it?
for Supernova Initiative pls ? :)
Thanks for the ask, @thepeculiarbird!
(Ask Game Here)
☀️ Sun - What's your favorite part of your WIP?
Let's see, (:
I really love the dynamic between the three main siblings of the story (Jack, Cassie and their adoptive brother, Deimos), and writing their backstory has been really fun so far as well (mainly because its really interesting to see how their past shaped them into the people they are today, as well as how their dynamics changed over time while also somehow remaining similar at times).
I love, love, love writing the sci-fi settings for this story. I have a lot offun every time I'm writing a new setting, planet, etc! Since Supernova Initiative takes place on a set of fictional, futuristic galaxies, I have a lot of leway to make the settings as unique and varied as I want, even outwordly or uncanny at times. I can have grimy, crime-filled mining moons with streets filled with neon lights, or a giant ocean planet which hosts some of the largest creatures in the system and has beautiful rings (like Saturn, but different, utopic-dystopian high-tech space stations ruled by the intergalactic Junction with an iron fist, etc!
I love writing my morally grey characters - Kye Thalax, Zenyth Astrophell and even Deimos Soll has a morally grey streak at times (though he is more 'chaotic good' than neutral lol). The contrast between them and the more do-gooder, kind personalities of this series - such as Jack Tithus, Lyorna Alyrii, Cassie etc - is really interesting and grants the story a great deal of variety that I think makes it even more fun to write! I also do love angsty, badass, hot and undyingly loyal antihero-type characters so I may be a bit biased lmao.
I really like writing and reading some whump, and this story has its fair share of it, so there's also that!
I like my character's unique quirks and how they all feel so distinct from one another in their own ways while also forming a cohesive and compelling team/crew.
⚡️Lightning - Have you ever spontaneously added something to your story that you wouldn't have added normally? If so, what made you do it?
That's a tough question lol. Since I'm a plotter, my WIPs and stories are usually carefully thought out and developed by the time I start the first draft, and this WIP (Supernova Initiative) especially, was intentionally tailored to my personal tastes, with my favorite tropes and dynamics, as I needed a passion project LMAO. But even then, there are a few things that took me by surprise as I reached the final stage of plotting and moved onto the first draft. So let's see what those things were!
Originally, Deimos wasn't going to have left the crew five years before the main story and had nothing to do with the set-up that had the team arrested in the inciting incident of the main act of this series. I usually don't like the "sibling rivalry" or "traitor sibling" trope in movies and books, as I think it is rather overdone and it often isn't compelling to me/feels annoying when not done well. However, as I reached the final stage of plotting, I realized this story needed a bit more stakes and that a bit more of internal conflict in the crew could spice things up, as well as give Deimos a change at a really meaningful redemption arc. So, I changed things up a bit: in the new, final version of the story, Deimos, Jack and Cassie grew up as siblings and best friends, but after they became adults and the civil war started, Deimos wanted to get involved with the conflict directly and rebel more openly against the Junction, while Jack & Cassie wanted to keep things as they were and continue simply undermining the Junction by stealing from it. This leads them to have an argument, after which Deimos leaves the crew but ends up caught by an insane warlord in the Khosmonian galaxies, who tries to turn him into a living weapon. He escapes a few years later, but is still being hunted by that General. With no resources and no other choice, Deimos makes a deal with the Junction to set-up the crew (since he knew how they operate and how their heists work) in exchange for temporary protection and with the promise of being given the resources to take down General Laylah. He later regrets betraying his family, as despite their estrangement they were still his siblings whom he loved more than anything, and ends up starting a redemption arc later on while trying to make amends.
Vesper originally wasn't going to be a relentless cyborg mercenary seeking revenge for the deaths of her brother and their mother. In the first version of an outline I developed for this WIP, she was actually a character much similar to Pax Stellaryn - she was going to be a spy and cadet at the Junction, and her personality was going to be much kinder, funnier and softer. She was also going to be a childhood friend of Pax's in another version of the series. However, I felt that their personalities were far too similar and that her character felt like her story was lacking something. So I scratched that original concept completely, and changed up her backstory, character and personality a lot and thus the cold, calculating, ruthless and painfully socially awkward Vesper we now know was created. And I quite love this new version a lot more!
Not exactly something that I wouldn't have added, but which was still an unexpected change I made in this story and which actually fit really well into the plot: Aleks Keldora was originally going to be an orphan, like quite a few of the other main cast. But somehow I felt that didn't match his personality and worldview, and also felt that at least some characters in this story should have happy, healthy, living relatives/family, so I scratched his original backstory and gave him two loving mothers who raised him with all the care in the world, and whom Aleks wants to give a better life to now that he has the means to help them.

Hi! I’d love to participate in your game 💕
My initials are FSCV, and I choose Kim Hongjoong, leader of Kpop group Ateez…
To be honest I don’t know much about Godzilla, so I looked it up on Wikipedia, and one thing that stood out to me was that he was described as being beyond the human standards of good and evil. So, since I think tarot is also not good or bad by default, but just a tool, I think (given he was a sentient, rational being), Godzilla would be quite interested in your work. He’d be curious about how you’d put your human moral compass and biases aside to give out an impartial and accurate reading, and intrigued by the negative effect your readings could have on the person who receives them, even though you don’t seek to hurt anyone, just to give out information. Since there seems to be a theme of “destruction and rebirth” associated to Godzilla, he could be interested in how, as a tarot reader, you can guide people through their own spiritual deaths and rebirths.
I don’t know if that’s what you’re expecting, but still thanks in advance 💕
Hello, thank you for joining if only I've known you. I forgot to write no anon in the game rules (I updated it yesterday) so I'm gonna do yours, plus your exchange was amazing!!! I really like how it was in this psychological perspective. I do agree that Godzilla is beyond the black and white standards of good and evil. He has an undeniable grey character. I do believe he is neutral and represents the aftermath of the awful things humans have done to nature. So he's here to restore balance in his own chaotic way. Readings are yes, made with the intention of sending a message forward. How the receiver reacts or responds and what they do with that message (as well as the emotions it invokes) is then their responsibility. So to each their own, we all live a little or die a little with each revelation of truth. I like how this grey, neutral but chaotic element of readings ties in with Godzilla's. That part about spiritual deaths and rebirths was really interesting.
I'm sorry about this little rant lol. This is so far my favourite exchange! Thank you so much for your time and energy. Now, onto your reading! 🌊
Card: The High Priestess
There is an element of mystery in what he feels about you. You have a softness in your personality that would make him view you as a special person. Because of this softness you feel vulnerable to him, not like the negative kind of weakness but more of like you have a rich emotional world that he doesn't want to hurt or destroy. He wants you to preserve this softness in you because he feels it radiating from your being like a breeze of self love. It's contagious and he would smile whenever he talks to you because this feeling would be so wholesome for him.
I feel that he is a visionary, he focuses on his goals, very goal-based person so he has practical plans about what he sees himself doing 5 years, 10 years after. He is a planner and a doer. He could be quite serious when it comes to his dreams and goals so he would put on a big boss stature whenever someone questions him or tries to discourage him from pursuing his goals. I think that's why when it comes to you, the things he'd most want to know (and care about) would be your life vision, your ambitions and how you're gonna plan out your future. He'd take on a brotherly role to care for you and offer his assistance in the form of advice, suggestions and sharing his personal experiences because personal experiences are what he feels most suitable to base on for realistic situations. There are times he might frown at you because you could be behaving in a very all-over-the-place manner, or doubt yourself when you should trust yourself, or just generally being messy. This man likes things to be tidy and he doesn't appreciate seeing laziness on display.
I don't listen to a lot of K-pop music so I didn't know about Kim HongJoong but oh my he does have amazing energy haha. Please feel free to let me know what you think ^^

ANONYMOUS ASKED | OOC MEME .
god, since like, for fucking ever? i started off in 2013, just before the big update changed the site entirely. when it was still ran by david. i was a super ooc, self-insert sober!gamzee that was basically just an oc at that point. but i grew and grew and i've done every character you can think of under the sun. morally grey, chaotic evil, lawful evil. neutral good. i did aph germany for a long time, king boo for a long time, and arthur hastings for years. i even did mr. krabs and mung dahl. 💀 after 21 though, i slowed down considerably. i was with this dude who was a narcissist and extremely toxic. trauma bond type stuff. for some reason, after he broke up with me, rping became super hard to do. so i haven't really been like back, back in ages. i've tried multiple times but it never really got super far. i'm hoping ivor can be something that is! but i think so, considering i am sort of using him for closure.

Ranking from little angel to little devil?
I'm glad you asked! Let's try going from angel to devil. All those lists are like a continuum scale huh? Great, I like a good continuum scale, it's like ambivert personality continuum scale mmm, anyway:
To no one's surprise on the heavy end of little angel is Penny Ling. She's just the goodest girl among them, what can I say? She still has her devil moments, don't get me wrong, but compared to the rest of them she has the least amount of them. Overall a good, compassionate soul, bless her. Follows the rules, likes helping others, but will sometimes use her nicness it to sway others her way (like in that one highschool ask I answered when I said that since she's so nice teachers really like her and if she asks for example to watch a movie that day instead of a normal lesson they will usually agree. A good few times when she really didn't feel like studying she was like "Eh, I'll just ask the teacher to postpone the test until nest week." and went to do her own things. Yes, she was just that confident about it, for a good reason too.) Closest to lawful good.
Russell - well, it's Russell. He's a good person too of course, but another big reason why he's here is his tendency to follow the rules and just overall good manners. He tries to take everyone's needs into account (like in the beggining of the Fun Russell episode) and does genuinely like helping, though more from a leader position. It gives him innumerable fulfillment to see something get done, the harder it was the better, no matter if it was for his or someone else's sake. However, he can be quite stiff when it comes to his rules, because he thinks his own internalized ones are the best. However, it doesn't apply to insitutions like museums or pools, he won't fight with whatever rules are there unless they are genuinely ridiculous, but to other things it does apply. Somewhere between lawful good and neutral good.
Minka - he's kinda in a weird place honestly, because I didn't get to the morally grey ones on this scale, but she juuust a bit is in this area. She can do things that are questionable, but she genuinely mostly does them out of just her easily-excitable personality, so things like violating others' personal space or being overwhelming for them. But as I said, it's not her trying to be rude or anything, it's just Minka being Minka. Besides, her goodness really overshadows all that in the end. She can genuinely be such a cute, kind angel, accepting towards everyone and doing that with fervor. Closest to chaotic good.
Sunil - he's a good person but damn, he can sometimes get really grumpy or impatient, just not in the mood at all to do the right thing. In those moments he just lets whatever is going to happen, happen. He doesn't make the situation worse but doesn't make it better either. That's only sometimes though, he can and absolutely will be very kind and understanding most of the time. He is a pretty patient guy after all, but will roll his eyes every now and then. Just, when he hears about someone's problem etc and from his perspective this problem is completely unimportant or very easily solvable, he will help but be sarcastic about it the entire time like, "Oh yes, I can definitely see why it's such a big problem that I had to abandon my lazy afternoon and get here instead." Somewhere between neutral good and chaotic good, closer to the latter.
Vinnie - now we're getting more into morally gray characters, at least in my headcanon. So you can see that Zoe and Pepper will be here as well. But I'm getting ahead of myself. On a morality scale Vinnie is a pretty good perfect middle because he can be an absolute angel but also complete opposite. The main reason for it are his double standards. He looks completely differently at his friends or just people he likes and differntly at everyone else. For example: if Zoe was to date someone but break up with them for no other reason then that she was bored of them (so the person was not bad to her in any way) he fully supports it, you go girl, get the best for yourself, but if it was that someone breaking up with her for the same reason then how dare they and they should die. Ok, maybe not that much, haha. If something's not too harmful to others but beneficial to him or he just wants to do it then he will (i.e. cheating on a test or eating a couple of grapes in the grocery store). But at the same time he also is a good guy who will help strangers and seeing someone's wallet fall out of their pocket he will return it to them, no doubt about it. Honestly idk where to put him, I think he's the closest to lawful neutral but it's hard to judge with those double standards.
Pepper... oni - the thing about her is that generally she's not the most empathetic person and can care more about her own enjoyment than others' feelings or rules and often doesn't think about them at all. Straight up won't play by the rules, granted not necessarily because she disagrees with them, often she will do it just to annoy someone and see their reaction because it's funny to her. If she is to help someone and it will take a lot of time and effort then she has to at least feel a connection with them, she won't do it for a complete stranger. Still, the thing about her is that she does all that not because she wants someone to be upset, but because she wants to enjoy herself. If it has longer or bigger consequences she will feel bad, so she's not evil or anything. Closest to chaotic neutral.
Zoe. Zoe, Zoe, Zoeeee. Look, I say that with love, but she is kind of a bitch and that's why out of the pets she's my least favourite. I still love her, don't get me wrong, I just love her the least. Even in my 'softened' version she can be pretty arrogant and absolutely self-centered. If you play by her rules and admire the things she does when she wants them to be admired you're fine and dandy, but if you say that you disagree with her, or worse yet dislike her singing or anything else she will NOT be happy. And I don't mean disagreeing in a rude way, just simply having different opinion. Yes, that includes her friends, though to a lesser extent. As long as you agree with her she's a sweetheart. She's prone to revenge though. Not a bad person but out of 7 of them she's the closest. Also chaotic neutral. Also everyone from Vinnie to Zoe would genuinely enjoy seeing someone who wronged them suffer.
Idk how that took me two hours... Ta-da! I know nobody asked for the whole neutral lawful stuff but I couldn't help myself.

an entire collector analysis. somewhat
in a previous analysis post about the Collector, i said that their "bad" intentions weren't entirely their fault in almost any case. i acknowledge that they definitely had some things that were conscious decisions of their own accord, but most of what WE see, is.. ehehdh. yknow?
especially with Belos. aka Philip.
this is a child, so they're obviously gonna be gullible and easily influenced. even negatively influenced. they have no way of knowing whats wrong and whats right, and I doubt their morals are in check, so the only adult figure in their life doesn't help with that. at all. he's an evil jackass who clearly abuses the Collector, mainly emotionally. not to mention that he literally lied to them for hundreds of years, and kept them trapped under a false promise. (pinkie promise at that)
he had never intended on freeing them. and when he did have them in his possession, it seemed like he encouraged lots of bad shit. my main point to this is how he kinda played along with them, and smiles at their silly "accusations"(hint hint: grimwalkers). he also clearly fucking uses them. for the magic, spells, and its also implied that they helped with the grimwalkers. "we can make another grimwalker" is a main line of indication.
i saw a few people say that, with them being a child and Belos the only adult around, they wanted to "impress" him and make him proud. like how most kids might do. and i agree with this, i would even consider it canon! and based off of my own personal experience, its probably true either way. i used to do stupid stuff all the time as a child, just to make the adults in my life laugh or smile. sure, the outcome wasnt always good, but its what kids do anyways.
also Collector has been around for thousands of years and I doubt they ever had a positive role model, parental figure, or any good adult in their life. and with no consequences to their actions(disregarding entrapment), it makes sense.
also their lack of empathy and understanding of others' safety makes sense as well. being alone with little to no social interaction for hundreds of years can do that to somebody. especially someone so young(mentally).
they're just immature, gullible, easily influenced, quick to trust(like with King and Philip), and more. overall, a child with too much power. i do think they understand this power(in contrast to what others think), since they have loads of powerful knowledge on magic and spells. so its only logical if they understood their own abilities, at least to varied degrees.
and they're far from a villain, at least an intentional one. at the most, they're just an antagonist(so far). they're also literally described as morally grey/chaotic NEUTRAL. and morally grey basically means: "The simple definition is that morally grey characters are those who are not completely good or completely evil. It's the characters who wobble in the “grey” area between hero and villain."
as to say, they don't really have their "own" morals put into place. in a way, they usually just go with whatever is asked of them as long as theres some form of game involved. once again, a childish trait.(or a pinkie swear, usually used a "deal". another childish thing)
and on the topic of pinkie swears/promises, Collector views these things as sacred. to them, you *cant* break a pinkie swear. its the ultimate bond, the best type of deal, you CANNOT break it no matter what. until someone does break it, their world just. shatters. hint HINT: Belos.
thennn cut to them being thrown off of a bridge into a pit of dead children after trying to "reason" with Belos. and so many people have pointed this out before but the collector was probably crying before King found them. their eyes indicate some type of puffiness, (to me)their voice sounds like its cracking/breaking, and the sorrow in their voice at "leave me alone". crying or not, theyre still very obviously saddened by the betrayal. and its understandable as to why theyre upset. someone who they thought they could trust for hundreds of years just turns around and backstabs them, out of greedy selfishness. and others have said Belos was in the right for not freeing them, since they're so dangerous. and yeah, they're dangerous, but what Belos did wasnt okay. especially since he promised that he would set them free after the day of unity for YEARS. and when the day finally came.. nope. it didnt happen, and they were literally thrown away. Belos still abused them, lied to them, used them, took advantage of their trust and gullibility, and probably more.
"you can trust me", "we have to wait until after the draining spell/day of unity", "your patience will be rewarded".
then, when King set them free after finding them, Belos STILL attempts to gaslight them. even when he's terrified. "Collector? you're free. just as promised."
and luckily, Collector catches on this time because now they KNOW better. "as promised? i remember someone throwing me off a bridge." then they ask if Belos wants to play tag, and then.. SPLAT! they boop him to death(literally. and while Belos may not be *dead*, thats for a different post). and honestly, good on them!
and this is the thing I really wanted to talk about. i can't rephrase my own words any better so I'll copy and paste them from a different analysis of mine. its from this clip if anyone wants better context:
not like this matters or anything, but i think it could have been a 50/50 thing. i say this because the Collector's eyes were still glowing and the line: "you guys look slow, too" probably indicates some malicious intent(and we know the Collector's eyes only glow whenever they use their power/magic, or at least something similar). but he's still a kid, he still enjoys games;;legitimate games. i remember him saying to King: "do you like hide and seek? I'll hide first" which just tells me that they genuinely like playing traditional, childish games. however, their way of playing games can definitely be considered dangerous,,unsafe. that can be for several reasons, but its probably just because they don't consider that they are actually hurting people. well, either that(or something similar)OR they just don't care. which makes some sense in Collector's POV, they're a young child mentally. and most children don't actually think about their actions or the consequences that follow. and for the Collector, there probably isn't any consequences(disregarding entrapment). so i do believe that they wanted to actually play tag, or something, with the other kids. but the game probably would have ended up being dangerous for the others, without the collector fully realising that(or caring, like i said previously). also yeah, their eyes do stop glowing whenever King shows up("King!" and their arms are spread wide in a welcoming manner), which probably was indication of the "game" ending before it even started. maybe their eyes glow whenever they're playing? it would make sense, in some context at least.
and yes, i do agree that the Collector was trapped for a reason! probably more than once given some clues. they're dangerous and their way of playing is straight up unsafe(given that they wanted to play with King whenever he hadn't even hatched yet.)
but so young(mentally), being trapped was obviously traumatic for them and probably terrifying. whether they "deserved" it or not.
they also MIGHT be linked to the wailing star, but my only evidence for this is because the cries sound similar to the Collector's voice. hopefully we get some insight on this in a twitter post, or even better: season three.
also, whenever Belos picks up Collector's disc, i SWEAR they said "stop". maybe im hearing incorrectly but i just wanted to say it here.
and if that is true, then.. hdgdgdh /neg ueghb
and if there is more than one collector, i hope we get some type of backstory. maybe its like an "extinct species" situation. like with the grimwalkers and titans. specifically the titans since they're clearly linked.
also copying and pasting this from another post.of mine: " isnt it so fucked up that Belos had intended on killing the Collector when he threw them down. he probably expected the disc to just shatter, but luckily it was caught on some bones instead. also throwing them into a "pit of failures" whenever all they had done was help him is kinda messed up.. like dude, that kid helped you for HUNDREDS OF YEARS and only wanted freedom in return. like how selfish do you have to be to consider that a "failure" or something similar.. this is just from Belos' and Collector's POV, but man. what the Fuck" and its true. i dont think they would have actually died, based on context clues we are shown, but the INTENT is still there. and thats what makes it so messed up.
i also dont think that the Collector understands the gravity of their actions. they reconstructed the titans skull, and possibly the rest of the boiling isles. or even the entire demon realm itself. we dont know yet. and they did it for a *game*, and i dont think they understood how harmful that was. they also clearly don't see how upset King is to leave his friends behind just to play with them. but in all fairness, King seemed to want to leave the Collector after promising them he would set them free and play with them. so their small rage fit and "you pinkie swore!" was somewhat justified. but all in all, King just wanted to save his friends, family, and everybody else. he didnt want *this*, but Collector doesnt know that. all they know is that the baby titan who they wanted to play with for years is here, alive, and promising to play with them. and that is what theyve been wanting. and waiting for.
i would also like some more information on that dream sequence! yknow, Collector's first appearance like a year ago or so. they seemed to have trapped the owl beast, aka Eda's curse. and from what i can tell, that beast didnt always use to be a curse. the Collector seems to have trapped it inside of a scroll. some have speculated it to be related to their *collection*, given their name, but im not too sure. theyre a god in relation to Titans of all beings. surely theyd have a more valuable collection than some curses and/or random beasts. but who knows? theres probably more to that event than we know, since this curse has shown to take a big toll on Eda(and Lilith, later on). "don't bother, beast. you can't run away anymore. its over." so maybe they had a chase that lasted a while? considering, in the dream, Collector is being remembered as much more menacing than they actually are. which is a common theme with memory in TOH. like with Luz remembering her mom, the collector, Hunter exclaiming how Belos probably remembered events incorrectly, and King recalling Luz saying something that she didnt actually say. or maybe theres separate collectors, like i said. and there is evidence for that, but theres also evidence that goes against that theory as well. at this point, its really just a 50/50 shot. but the appearance was still wicked /pos
okay! i will add onto this post later

so i sort of made a fantasy ew au...? i was writing a draft that i might probably publish about the main four going on some adventure into a forest and it's something i wanted to make??? for quite a while??? does that make sense :|
um, here's some character descriptions for tord and matt since i have yet to make edd and tom's designs XD
Tord Olsen
so first things first, tord isn't actually his real name, it was a nickname that had been stuck for a very long time since he kinda felt awkward hearing his birth name out loud.
he's like some kind of species of demon?? honestly, i have no idea
tord met matt first and he has a very close relationship with him
he's the youngest of the bunch, simply about 24 years old.
no one knows he is transgender and the only person he told is matt. also, he is bi
he is a huge nerd about magic and stuff that interests him. if you want to know something, tord is absolutely your guy.
he is kinda insecure about his capabilities.
somehow, he lost his right arm and had a scar on his nose bridge from a very traumatic incident. tord doesn't want to talk about it.
tord doesn't care about pronouns
he can use spells, specifically fire and ice magic, but he prefers to use handmade weapons he built for himself.
oh yeah, tord can build stuff with just one arm, pretty impressive, right?
he doesn't talk much because he is often uncomfortable around people he doesn't know, which makes people assume he's mute.
he enjoys any kind of food.
he loves to do pranks with edd
tord hates that everyone keeps staring at him, considering that demons like him aren't common in every part of the region, except for his hometown.
his relationship with tom is neutral. he does not carry any negative feelings about him, though it varies depending on what his actions are
tord will do whatever it takes to help his friends, even if it means hurting someone, he's doing it for a good reason. so yeah, the dude's morally grey
if you hurt matt in any way, he will murder you in your sleep
(don't fucking say he looks like tubbo. i beg you pls 😩)
Matt Hayes
he is a prince, obviously
a vampire prince
one night, matt was running away from home bcuz he thinks that his life is boring and wanted some adventure, that's when he and tord met.
he thinks tord is wonderful (and rather endearing to look at)
a dramatic asshole, always entering the room with a flare in his step.
he can float! :0
matt is not afraid to bite you when he feels threatened. he is not a pussy
he's genderfluid and pansexual.
he's the second youngest by 26
even though he is a prince, he was taught how to use his powers and learned to wield the sword at a very young age by the royal guard—all because he thought it was pretty cool
his pronouns are he/she/them, but he mostly uses he
matt can defend himself and will suplex you with his strong bod.
since he's a vampire, he can transform into a bat. he takes advantage of this ability to mess with edd.
just like my previous hc with matt, he does love to make tord go crazy with absurd facts.
he doesn't use that many spells. the main reason? he often forgets to chant them.
matt has a short-term memory problem, but not that terrible. still, people believed he's stupid.
matt is not dumb. he can outwit you—heck, even bamboozled you that you might regret underestimating his intellect.
he still cares about his appearance yet not to the extent that is considered extreme.
he loves to wear dresses, especially the frilly ones where he could twirl in them.
matt is a bit of a spoiled brat.
he hates sunlight and fortunately, he can use his cloak to cover himself.
basically, matt is a missing person in his kingdom, which means that his family is searching for his ass. at least don't dress so fancy, dumbhead
matt is chaotic neutral
matt freaks the fuck out whenever tord gets hurt. he cares very deeply about him and practically the real legit friendship he has with someone besides those fake-ass plastic friends back home.
i forgot to mention that his eyes turn red—like bam! when he's in full vamp mode
lol, that's all. hopefully, i had enough time to draw. stay tuned! :p
(edit; i was half asleep since this was posted late, so i'll add some additions i didn't put in last night)

Still thinking about that scene where Scar punched Ren off the cliff
Martyn’s immediate reaction was screaming “Who did it?!” punching Grian off first, then knocking Scar off with a fire aspect sword and and chasing him down the mountain
Like damn, if Martyn hadn’t been green at the time, Scar would’ve been fucking dead where he stood
clipped this scene here, though here's it through martyn's pov where you get more of the engagement
the interesting thing is martyn did have justification to kill scar. while this was before the rules were completely out the window, as i believe cleo and scott explained in their episodes at one point, since ren and martyn are allies and scar attacked with a clear intent to kill, martyn could have retaliated without technically breaking the rules, it just wouldve been kinda playing dirty since it was so early in the series.
martyn plays such a cool character in 3rd life, because despite having one of the highest kill counts in the series, he never really... experiences bloodlust? he engages and attacks with intent, he's perfectly clear minded when doing so, and not "blinded by the violence." while it makes his actions...morally grey at best, it also makes him incredibly honorable. he has morals and sticks to them. i know martyn describes himself as chaotic neutral, but i think he also leans towards a certain description of lawful neutral later in the series. he has a personal code he grounds himself to, and his loyalty shifts from prioritizing himself to dogwarts. it's hard to argue a completely chaotic neutral character would retaliate that much when someone besides themself is at risk.
okay this got off topic but just. god before 3rd Life out of all of the yogs character i never would've pinned martyn to be one of the ones with the most complicated and fascinating arcs to analyze. the fact that martyn is morally grey whilst also following his own morals to his death is what makes him so interesting.

🐭 • So we literally know nothing about Bradley’s shenanigans between the end of Coon vs. Coon & Friends, when he left Earth to discover what happened to his home planet, and Bring the Crunch, where he states that he is living there now and doing who knows what.
Well I always wanted to write a post giving my thoughts on the subject (and I have a bit of a teaser here) so, for the sake of future RPs, I may as well do it. I will probably divide this into two posts because the Lore and my shenanigans are different things.
Just saying it now: this is mostly my own making and ideas as there’s very little canonical backing on the topic. If I have anything that I can quote to use as proof of my statements I will do it, but this is mostly my own interpretation.
youtube
Bradley Biggle has been around as a background character since Season 3, joining the main four as one of their classmates after moving to the fourth grade in Season 4. Still, until Season 14, he has been a (recognizable) background character with voice roles that could be easily counted with your hands –akin to characters like DogPoo or Kevin Stoley–.
The introductory paragraph above is a way of saying: we didn’t really know that much about Bradley until the Coon & Friends Trilogy. Hell, we still don’t, it is only on the final part of the trilogy, Coon Vs. Coon & Friends, when we learn a few things about him, and that episode starts with the video above.
“But Bradley Biggle is no ordinary fourth-grader!”
I am not going to waste time explaining why is Mintberry Crunch and what he does (for that’s what his About Page is all about) but, obviously, the entire clip is a form of foreshadowing to the ending. Spoilers to a 10-year-old episode: Bradley receives a message from outer space in which he’s told that he’s an alien from a far away planet whose destiny is to save Earth from C’thulu. Also Kenny thought that this revelation was going to be for him so he got scammed of his backstory, I guess.
So yeah, Bradley is a superhero with a backstory akin to Superman: he is an enhanced alien that was sent off to safety as a baby during times of crisis, and was found, adopted and raised by a human family, the Biggles. Yeah, I don’t think anyone really thought that Bradley and Henrietta were biological siblings, but whatever.
While we don’t know if everyone in the planet K'oh Kajan (or Kokujon, as I will be typing it like that) has the same powers as MBC, since we know that the berries of that planet “have the power to fuel nearly anything”, I’m going to take a guess that the “nearly” is there because they cannot grant superpowers to people, so Bradley is the outlier and a case of the chosen one. He is the only one with this powers, basically.
So he defeats C’thulu with his mint and berry superpowers and stuff (yes, defeats, he can only summon mint and berry to his aid, which would mostly work to reduce an opponent rather than killing them), and this episode ends with what would mark MBC’s exit from the show (outside of the very rare background appearance) for a very long time:
Canonically-speaking, this is what we know.
Bradley left to search for his biological parents (and his home planet, I suppose) and we would not hear about him for sure until Season 21. To be more precise, we would not hear about MBC’s shenanigans until his appearance in Fractured But Whole’s second DLC, Bring the Crunch.
youtube
Timestamp goes from 1:06 to 2:22 (unless you want spoilers).
Funny enough, while this would mark MBC’s return, it still does not give us much information about what he has been up to before the events pertaining this DLC. However, we still get a few clues from his in-game dialogue which I’m going to interpret for you guys.
"I picked up your distress call from the berry mines of my home planet. I've come to offer my assistance."
Something we know for sure is that he made it back to Kokujon!! This means that the main reason he has been away for so long (or so it’s my guess) is because he found his home planet, reunited with his biological parents and decided to settle there instead of returning to Earth with the Biggles. We still know that he visits, however, as he appears in Stick of Truth and in some more episodes (before disappearing again in Season 22):
We still don’t really know anything about his home planet, though, outside of very selective information he gives in and out of battle. Here’s a few examples:
"It's so weird being back on Earth. I can't believe you guys only have one sun!"
“You wanna know the best thing about Kokujon? No school."
"I didn't travel halfway across the galaxy to be treated like this."
He doesn’t live anywhere in the Solar System, that’s for sure, because not only he has traveled “across the galaxy” to respond to Fastpass’ distress call (which is another can of worms in itself, because how could have he received a call like that from literal light years away?), but also our system only has one sun.
This is just me trying to tie things together with South Park canon (so it’s a bit of a tangent), but in Season 13, in the episode Pinewood Derby, we are made aware of the existence of the Federation of Planets, a government body that is on a galactic level. The only reason I mention this is because MBC has proven to be capable of traveling at warp speed –traveling from his home planet to Earth in a matter of (what I am going to suppose were) minutes after receiving that distress call–, and all the planets that have discovered warp speed are part of the Federation, so that must be the case for Kokujon.
The exception to this rule, if anyone has watched the episode, would be Earth, but that’s because they didn’t meet the requirements to join the Federation and were blocked off the rest of the galaxy instead.
Not sure if this is canon anymore, but if it is that means that Bradley is constantly breaking the law by visiting a planet that has been labeled as off-limits, but he is not the only alien that has set foot in South Park anyways.
Actually, speaking of breaking the law and stuff, that reminds me... here is a screenshot of MBC’s character sheet:
While most characters in FBW have the Lawful (and only Lawful) alignment, MBC stands out because he has a more specific alignment. Not only he is Chaotic (which explains the possibility of him being breaking the law whenever he travels back to Earth), but also Neutral, which makes him... a morally grey character. He is neither good, neither bad, he is just... well, himself.
Why am I bringing this up anyways? Because there is one detail about the Kokujonian society that those that have played the DLC are aware about: the caste system.
"On my home planet, you'd get 10 years in the berry mines for that!"
The mention of these berry mines have been a thing ever since Season 14, but this line that can pop up when MBC is attacked in game has quite the connotations. Simple: you commit a crime, you are sent to the berry mines. You commit a crime, you work at the berry mines. You commit a crime, you become a slave. But you could say “oh, Mouse, but it could be like community service like many prisons on Earth- “ and I would have to tell you that you’re wrong because even MBC says so himself.
Despite being a trope in many sci-fi stories based around alien societies it is a very fucked up elephant in the room and everyone and their mother knows this. The last mission in the Bring the Crunch DLC involves fighting (and killing) a mind-controlling alien whose motivation was revenge against the society that put his family (and possibly his entire race to) into this position. Not only that, but if MBC is being truthful, the Kokujonian society has no issue to do the same with anyone that breaks the law, even their own people.
So, does the fact that he is part of this society make Bradley evil? No. Once again, he is Chaotic Neutral, he is just Bradley. And looking at the definition of Chaotic Neutral:
“Chaotic neutral characters like to indulge in everything. [...] This type of character will at least consider doing anything if they can find enjoyment or amusement. Life has meaning, but theirs has the greatest meaning. According to chaotic neutrals, laws and rules infringe on personal freedom and were meant to be broken. This character is always looking for the best deal, and will work with good, neutral, or evil to get it; as long as he comes out of the situation on top. The chaotic neutral is constantly teetering between good and evil, rebelling, and bending the law to fit his needs.”
His alignment makes him more complicated than the black-and-white idea that is being good or being evil on one fact alone. He is defined, however, by the fact that he does what he pleases regardless of what society, morality and laws say. And this is easily backed up by how he addresses the Crooked Cop enemy class in FBW:
"Earth police have no jurisdiction over... Mintberry Crunch!"
"Authority figures are no match for... the crunch!"
So, basically, his alignment makes him a free spirit and, at best, because his family owns slaves, he would be a proxy. He’s mostly a 10-year-old with superpowers that has been granted total freedom to do what he wants and takes full advantage of it (an also a superhero and an illegal alien on Earth, literally and figuratively), so he is not precisely defined by the society of his home planet. I do believe, though, that he has been influenced by the Kokujonian society as a result of living with his biological parents, so his morality and ideas flip-flop a lot.
“Chaotic neutral characters are extremely difficult to deal with. Such characters have been known to cheerfully and for no apparent purpose gamble away everything they have on the roll of a single die. They are almost totally unreliable. In fact, the only reliable thing about them is that they cannot be relied upon!”
MBC choosing to fight that alien (an alien he carelessly allowed to follow him to Earth) could also be interpreted as personal defense and him defending planet Earth from an outer space threat as the Zarganor voices his intentions pretty clearly in-battle, but everyone is welcome to draw their own conclusions since both of them were motivated by very different things.
Anyways, once again, Kokujon is a pretty fucked up planet, but it is also Bradley’s home planet. We can assume that finding this planet and his biological parents helped him discover his real identity as Gok'zarah and, once he accomplished this goal, decided that he had nothing else worth pursuing and settled. He is rather unpredictable, as his alignment dictates, so he may not even stay on Kokujon a lot and instead travels through the galaxy- but those are headcanons of mine.
In conclusion, as a TL;DR: Bradley disappeared from Season 14 to Season 21, and then from Season 22 and onwards, because he’s an alien and has chosen to live in his home planet. Said planet’s society has its fucked up side but Bradley is so unpredictable due to his free spirit nature it is hard to pin-point his morals.
Anyways, for a character that started as a joke character that was used as a deus ex machina, I think he’s pretty cool! :·D And probably one of the strongest characters in this show’s universe.
#📁 • OOC.#🍚 • Bradley!About.#🍚 • Bradley!Headcanon.#cw long post#(Though in this blog I love all of my boys this one has a weird history.)#(I still remember when I liked MBC in an ironical sense; yeah; sure.)#(Now he's just one of my favorite characters ever LOL.)#(What do you mean I shouldn't care this much about a joke character?.)

Toonvengers Together!
*cue the Avengers theme once more*
Im back with more characters for my marvel toon au aka Toonvengers and to end the phase 1 Avengers with the rest of the Founding Members, some important supporting characters and the first villain ooooh and another Hawkeye recast i promise this is the last one.
Oh and Thank you to some friends who helped me establish some of the characters you know who you are and thank you very mucho for the help!!!
To start this post my final decision and who shall be Hawkeye from Oswald to Della and finally Goofy ok so for some people Hawkeye is just a normal man with a bow and arrow but for me he is an agent, a best friend, a father and a mentor and when i think of Hawkeye is that scene in Age of Ultron when the Avengers go hide to a "safehouse" and it's revealed that is Hawkeye's farmhouse where his family lives and The Avengers and us the audience learn how much he is putting on the line in every mission he accepts so my third and final choice as Hawkeye is Goofy they're both loyal and brave, and even though they are underestimated by their peers and even if it affects them personally they don't care and continue to do their job, and yes Goofy and Daisy have a great friendship since Goofy was sent to detain her, he instead saw the good in her and recruited her to S.H.I.E.L.D. or should i say A.N.V.I.L.L. the Alliance of Neutralization and Vigilantism of International Law-Affairs and Logistics ( i am very proud of that acronym). And Yes Max exists in this au.
So we have Iron-Man, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, yes we are missing the Mighty Thor and to be honest i had a hard time deciding who would be him from Bimbo, Foghorn Leghorn, Porky and Bendy but i finally decided on Flip the Frog so the reason why is... i don't have a really good reason other than Thor was turned to a Frog in the comics but i feel that no character can do Thor justice so i chose a character that really doesn't have a defined personality so that i could mold it to fit Thor so he pretty much has the storyline as Phase 1 Thor he was arrogant, conceited, vain overall a jerk and he was sent to ToonTown to learn to be worthy of Mjolnir his powerful mallet and to be humble so same as the character but he still is sometimes a jerk.
So our first big bad Loki the God of Mischief or Marvin the Martian both scheming, chaotic, want to be a ruler, have a certain charisma and they're on their own side plus Marvin's helmet reminded me of Loki's helmet with horns.
So as director of A.N.V.I.L.L. our Nick Fury is Elmer Fudd or should i say Elmer Fury and like the same Nick Fury they are a bit of an enigma sometimes a friend or foe and although he may not trust you and he may do some questionable actions or decisions and is morally grey he justs want to protect the humanity well i guess the toons...toonanity idk.
And lastly Maria Hill the Deputy Director of A.N.V.I.L.L. Fury's right hand woman is Fanny Cottontail or Fanny Hill loyal, pragmatic, professional, tough-minded but in times of levity and with friends she jokes around, and is just a bad ass all the way.
So that is it for Phase 1 Toonvengers i hope you enjoyed this i already have planned and written phase 2 and 3 characters and stories so look out for those and well i will see you real soon!!

ok. thoughts on dgs now I've completed both 1 and 2. spoilers abound under the cut. but tl;dr I liked it a lot.
man, the thing really did feel like a great adventure huh? the game did an excellent job at conveying that sense of grandeur, along with the humour and melodrama one expects from the series. I can really only talk about it as the one conjoined unit though. while aa1-3 were a trilogy, I would argue they largely stood as entries on their own in a way I don't think the dgs duology can. I mentioned when I finished up dgs1 that I would've been disappointed if I'd had to wait for part 2 like the original japanese audience did, and my opinion on that has only strengthened. between the morse code message, and van zieks'... development, these are two parts of a whole.
but it is a very good whole imo, with its throughline of ryunosuke gaining confidence and finding what to believe in (the truth will set u free babey!). it matches well with the recurrent theme of ur idols being... not quite as u imagined. as is aa tradition, u have the complex web of family and legacy and forging ur own path, all balanced in a way that I really like. man, it's just... so well crafted.
obvs there are a few weird hiccups here and there, logic sometimes not clicking together (at least for me), and for that I do appreciate having the story mode option. I only used it... I think twice? once in the pawnshop case where I forgot I'd only shown one receipt to gregson and not both, and once in the teleportation case where I missed examining the book on sithe's desk (in my defence it has a really small hitbox compared to the desk that surrounds it!). but it saved me some frustration, so that's always nice.
the setting was definitely very enjoyable. I personally have a soft spot for seeing portrayals of my country by those outside the anglosphere, and this absolutely hit the spot for me. the scenery was an excellent balance of the familiar old london fare and ace attorney's brand of surrealism that just. yes. excellent. weirdly high number of blonds tho. but some of the behind the scenes content did explain it was to more clearly differentiate the britons from the japanese, and ok I can understand that.
but moving onto the characters themselves, bc BOY was this a fun cast! the animation team went OFF with these guys and I love them for it. except daley vigil; those awkward poses just kinda made him look more unfinished than he already did, dunno what happened with him.
there's just... so much little stuff I would be just reiterating from my liveblogging, but now I'm done there's other stuff I can sum up.
right off the bat, favourite character gina. she has stolen my heart along with everything else on my person. I'm proud of her for learning to open up and trust others, and imo she's one of the characters with the most dramatic arc. also, top notch character designs. excellently green. yes I am biased.
honorable mentions go to susato for being 100% the coolest person in this shebang, and kazuma for his total flippancy towards the whole assassin thing. for the ten years between asogi sr's death and the student exchange deal, the mikotoba residence must have been a sight to behold. and by that I mean a warzone.
but... argh I've put it off. I don't particularly like talking about van zieks, but I can't just ignore him since you know. discourse. ugh. he's the one character in this game whose dialogue I resorted to flipping through without really paying attention. there is only so many times I can watch him deride the japanese before it's just boring. like it's not like I'm even that annoyed by the insulting thing. I love prosecutors like blackquill and nahyuta who at least bother to be funny, but van zieks is just xenophobic and that's it. if I wanted that experience I could just pick up a copy of the spectator and not worry about missing key plot details if I skim.
and no he doesn't have a good reason to hate the japanese. hating a country bc someone from there killed a loved one of urs is already flimsy enough, but when u state ur ire is being drawn by how it was covered up BY UR OWN COUNTRY'S JUDICIARY? DUDE. but yes, he got to eat shit during the last case and I felt only schadenfreude at him having to face the fact that even the aforementioned 'a japanese guy murdered my brother' didn't hold up in court. get dunked on u idiot.
boy am I glad kazuma also got the limelight for that case so I could focus on him instead. bc there was actually some depth to that situation, with the fun eternal moral conundrum of "revenge: yay or nay?". I'm already seeing debate in the fandom of his actions and personally, I think he was pretty much exactly in the grey zone. this man is chaotic neutral through and through, and taking a governmental assassination contract and then just Not Doing It is incredibly funny actually. I'm very sorry he was unable to live out his dream of having a fun homoerotic detective adventure in london with his friend while doing the hitman equivalent of tax avoidance. enjoy whatever the FUCK one calls handing over the physical embodiment of your soul to your friend for safekeeping while you go your separate ways half a world apart. that's Romantic with a capital R, that.
but anyway, yes. good game. time to trawl through the extras menu now!
