i genuinely dont understand how people actually like. aspire and dream of going to competitive compsci universities and enjoy surrounding themselves by the worst people imaginable in the field. every time i open instagram and see people boasting about it or posting about how to be top 1 linkedin top 1 connectioner or whatever to get faang internships while trying to one up everyone else in their school im really like wow. you people actually live like this? like willingly??

#why does everyone want to work faang jobs anyway that sounds like. a nightmare to me.#like all those companies have values and fund shit that goes directly against my moral compass #not that you can expect the average computer science student to have a soul much less when money is involved #but im here for money too and i dont get it. like theres probably 5 million other companies that will pay the same if not slightly less #for the same role. like i really really really dont understand the silicone valley company craze as someone living right next to it
