What’s special about the Silent Hill series for me is behind the violent imagery, disturbing cult elements and psychological horror, this series is about each characters tragic losses and suffering.

Silent Hill(1) is about the tragic fate and suffering of a seven year old girl at the hands of her mother, and a father’s loss of his only family he had left.

Silent Hill 2 is about a man’s guilt for what he did to the person he loved most and that said person’s suffering because of her terminal illness. Not to mention the tragedy of the two secondary characters

Silent Hill 3 is about a teen girl trying to find her own identity while people try to rob her of her agency and steal away her only family and the person who meant everything to her. But also the sad backstory of the main antagonist and what made her become such a psychotic religious fanatic

Silent Hill 4 is about what evil religious zealots can do to a vulnerable child, turning him into just as evil of a person. While he is the game’s villain, he too was neglected and abused at the hands of his parents and the town’s cult.
