FIRST SIKKIM STUDENT TO RECEIVE A SCHOLARSHIP IN HINDUSTANI CLASSICAL. Pritam Chettri, a Sikkim University Music Department student, has been awarded an "Award of Scholarships to Young Artistes in Different Cultural Fields" by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Every year, only 200 young artists from various cultural fields receive this award. This year, he succeeded in receiving this award in the Hindustani Classical flute, making him the first scholar from Sikkim to do so. Pritam Chettri was born in Martam, East Sikkim, and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in flute at Sikkim University's Music Department under the tutelage of his Guruji Dr Santosh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Music Department, SU. He has been playing the flute for many years and has performed in many Indian states as well as other countries. He has composed music for over 500 Hindi songs and bhajans using his flute. Being a hostler and far away from home, I was tensed initially. Being from a very small village in Sikkim, I had all sorts of fear. But after reaching Rohini college of engineering and technology I had a relaxed mind. Our college is one the leading Institute in engineering. People from all over the country come to study here. It is one of the best engineering colleges in Kanyakumari district. If we have to study hard we will surely excel in our fields.

 The course curriculum is advanced version of IC engines which includes all the thermodynamics based subject and the labs in our division provide many facilities to inculcate in research purpose. So the basics I learned during my course period helped to get a job as intern. No wonder RCET is the best engineering college in Kanyakumari district.

The placement is quite good and many company offers internship carried with full time placement during the course Mostly twice a year we celebrate techfest and other events. Management along with students handles the events in a nice manner and often brings celebrities to the college and distribute the awards and allows students to participate in many events. There will be more number of workshop conducted.

The fees is quite feasible and payable by every semester. Mostly the fees structure is online and provide a website to pay all this. Rohini college of engineering and technology also provides scholarship to economically backward students so that they get a change to improve their quality of living.  The motto of RCET college is to eradicate poverty by providing education.

Mostly here there is no problem regarding gender. Everyone is equal here. But there are some counseling available for women to say the problems they face and they organize some empowering programs and brings women from top field to address the issues for women.

Being a hostler I should say that the food provided is of good quality. the staying in college hostel and its fees is quite economic for the students to afford. But there is no restrictions for the students to move anywhere.

There is also a group for all the alumni and a separate organization runs for it. There the management will provide all the necessary details regarding the works for the students from the alumni. The alumni also conducts some important seminars on how to attend interviews.

The faculty who took the subjects are all professors with a PhD in reputated Institute and they are all above 40 years with maximum 10 to 15 years experience in the teaching field and they often bring industry people to conduct seminars and lecture to improve the technical knowledge of the students. The lectures also are very helpful in extra curricular activities. All these are what makes RCET the top engineering college in kanyakumari district.

Hi friends, I’m Karthikeyan. I would like to share my experience with Rohini College of Engineering and Technology.

The reason why I choose Rohini college of engineering and technology and travelled from Sikkim to Tamil Nadu is that it is one of the top 10 Engineering college in Kanyakumari district. The course that I have chosen has a great value. So, I chose my college. It is the university which controls all other affiliated engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu.We will be trained well as an engineer, if we study in this college. It also includes many cultures.

 The course is the updated one. The syllabus was updated last year. Thefaculties are well experienced people. Theywere also graduated from well reputed colleges with huge experience. The faculties also help us in extra curricular activities as well which makes Rohini college of engineering and technology one of the top 10 engineering college in Kanyakumari district.

Placement of RCET, one of the top 10 engineering college in Kanyakumari district, is good.With top companies like Infosys, hp, Just Dial, SIEMEN etc visiting the campus. As per my experience, the highest package was around Rs 17 lakhs while the average package was around Rs 5lakhs.

 Cultural events are the best things in RCETcollege. They allow us to interact with other college students too. Many other college students attend our campus activities. The college also conducts seminar and workshops. Tech fests, in college which is the biggest cultural event in Kanyakumari districthas a DJ parties, cultural programs andcelebrities used to attend our event. They are awarded in our function.The management of RCET has a technical event for our college and it is one of the best events in the district.More number of students from other colleges Attend this event.

 Community scholarship is available. Financially backward students can apply for the scholarship. Management has a generous attitude towards providing scholarship.

All the thingsare very good in our campus. We have a ground with lush green grass and wifi facilities are available. And the hostel facilities are good in our campus. Library also holds many Books, from all subjects. Lab equipments are enough for all the students in a particular session. We have wifi,which is to be registered and then we can use. The wifi is of high speed and it is very useful.

The Hostel facilities at RCET college are too good. We have a greater number of hostels with good facilities. A room contains four beds. And the toilets are maintained clean. Food is also good in our hostels. Our workers clean our hostels regularly.The warden takes care of the students. Electricity facilities are good. And the water facility is verygood one,as our hostel located at TamilNadu,it is essential to save water. The management take good care of water facility. In all the RCET is one of the best engineering college in Kanyakumari district.
