I joined the online session with Jared Padalecki and Shoshanna Stern. (Plus Charlie from Momentus and Karri, an interpreter)

It was definitely fun. Jared is currently in Albuquerque for reasons unknown to me. I think he was about to explain why when Shoshanna interrupted him.

We learned the signs for cow penis (Yes, cow... A female animal) and milkshake. (Sounds harmless, but...)

I enjoyed the personal name signs for Sam Winchester (half a moose), Jared (three fingers on the cheek) and Jensen (two fingers on the chin).

There is a bit of a resemblance between the sign for squirrel and Jensen's name, which made Jared happy.

It also resembles the sign for baby / sweetheart (something you call your partner) (three finger tips stroking the chin) which made Jared happy again. :)

I would have loved to learn some more basic signs, since I hardly know any signs at all. (And for advanced, international viewers, to see the difference, maybe?)

But we learned that it is important, to use your face and show emotions when talking. (And Botox is absolutely not helpful in this case ;) )

Like I said, it was a fun hour but it lacked the chance to teach a little more. :)

Shoshannah Stern is directing a documentary about Marlee Matlin. Love seeing the talented people from the spn cast out there doing and making good things.

“As a deaf woman who first saw herself reflected in Marlee as a child, I was inspired to become an actor. I am now an actor, a writer and, with this film, a director. I am experiencing everything Marlee has made possible in a beautiful metaphysical tandem,” Stern said in a statement. “In our film, the telling of her story is rendered through the easy familiarity people have with an interviewer who shares their lived experience. Hopefully, because of this, our project will exemplify why nobody, much less Marlee Matlin, should be alone anymore.”
