#She literally doesn't even consider Hubert a guarantee

I have reached Crimson Flower ch.12, and I feel even more certain about my personal reading of Edelgard in terms of influence from the agarthans being a Big fucking part of a lot of her opinions towards Rhea in particular
The view that the nabataeans are inhuman is Inherently what the agarthans believe, and despite everything, Edelgard has been influenced by them ever since she was very, very young, you can't separate Edelgard's views entirely from the fact that she has practically been raised by the agarthans, you know, the mfers who inherently asked/helped/prompted/whatever word suits it best Nemesis to commit genocide against the nabataens
A lot of stuff Edelgard says in ch.12 I think can be VERY directly traced/compared to what Thales says in. ch.10(?) when he's speaking to Kronya and Edelgard, and remember, Thales has specifically been Stupidly close to Edelgard since he's taken the place of her fucking uncle who's been glued to her hip forever by now
I just still believe that Edelgard isn't as in control as she is, and especially not as self-aware/self-deciding as she is, she Is a tool for the agarthans, that was Her Literal Purpose, that's why she decides what she does, because of what they did to her
#Yes Edelgard wants to change the world#But I also believe that her placing a lot of blame on Rhea and the church#Is DIRECTLY influenced by Thales and co#Because that rhetoric is so fucking similar#And once again#I don't believe that Edelgard is as in control as she thinks she is especially in regards to Thales and co#I still don't think she knew about Monica being replaced with Kronya#Because in that scene in Blue Lions she reads like surprised to me#Idonno#I just don't think Edelgard's as self-assured Nor as in control as she thinks she is#But as I've said before#if Edelgard hesitates at all#She'll essentially be admitting that she was had#And that means that everything she has done until this point gets questioned#And if Edelgard questions herself#What the fuck does she have to believe in left?#Because she genuinely seems like a person who believes that she only has herself at the end of the day#See all her talk about how she's fully prepared to do this alone if it comes to that#She literally doesn't even consider Hubert a guarantee#Even if Hubert insists that he is#manda plays fe3h five years later#I don't give a shit about right or wrong this isn't about that#This is a fictional story about politics and I'm more concerned about why everybody believes what they believe#That's what's interesting to me#Miss me with that real life comparisons#I'll keep that for real life politics
