Johnny being Punjabi + Sikh head-canons:
(pls bare w me i just thirst for representation 😭)
He definitely got teased in grade school for smelling like thadka.
He actually speaks decent Punjabi, but he doesn’t speak it unless he’s with his extended family which isn’t often.
He has two names. His English name (Johnny) and his Punjabi name (Jot)
He only uses his Punjabi name with his extended family.
He probably tried to teach Ponyboy how to say his name, but he failed miserably and gave up.
His mom’s Punjabi and his dad’s White.
He used to to the Gurdwara every Sunday as a kid, but he doesn’t really go anymore.
He still wears a Kaara but it’s usually hidden under his jacket.
His mom’s og surname was Sandhu
He gets picked on by Soc’s more than other Greaser’s because of his ethnicity. (It was the 60’s)
He had longer hair as a kid but when he was 8-9 years old he started cutting it.
His favorite Punjabi food is Pav Bhaji
Sometimes he’ll mutter Punjabi curses when he’s annoyed which confuses the rest of the gang.
He’ll usually say
“Bandar/Bandri jae” (Means monkey but it’s more offensive in Punjab
“Saaleya” (idk but its an insult 💀)
“Kutta jae” (Bitch/Dog)
He wouldn’t say “Bhenchot” (sister fucker)
Probably thinks its too far
He doesn’t use hair gel. He uses oil.
Usually Amla oil or Coconut.
He doesn’t like Darry’s cooking that much. He thinks it needs more flavor, but he doesn’t complain.
He mumbles Shabads to himself when he’s alone.
He doesn’t say it because he’s religious, but rather as a feeling of comfort
Like I said earlier, he doesn’t go to the Gurdwara much anymore. He still really likes going though, he finds it really peaceful and relaxing.
He loves listening to Kirtan too.
He doesn’t really believe in Sikhi anymore, but he still agrees with a lot of its ideals.(Make an honest living, treat everybody equally, etc.)
He owns one white Kurta pajama strictly for family reunions and the Gurdwara.
His parent’s weren’t always this shitty. It started when his dad picked up drinking.
Him and his mom used to get along good, but once his dad started drinking they didn’t talk anymore.
He wears a necklace made from black string and there’s a really small Kirpan on the end.
It was a gift from his mom.
On the rare occasion where he runs into another punjabi person out n about he’ll always make conversation and if he’s with the gang it kinda throws them off
His mom has an older brother (his mamaji) and he always loves to spend time with him
He’s very 50/50 on being whitewashed n cultured

Instructions For Holding Satsang - Spiritual Awakening Radio Podcasts
Tumblr media
Kirpal Singh: "The books written by the Master should be read in the Satsangs, as these give a clear cut view of the subject, as also carry the life impulse of the Master and as such will bless the dear ones with right understanding of the Holy Path. Relevant portions of the books of other Masters, viz: Kabir, Nanak, Christ, etc., dealing with Sant Mat, Surat Shabad Yoga may also be referred to where necessary... "For the subject of a talk, we may take up the hymns from any scripture, preferably from the Masters of the Sound Current. It may be supplemented by apt quotations from the parallel writings of other Master Saints. The Holy Gospels themselves are full of such material as may fit in with such a context. The illustrations from various Masters are essential so as to bring out the essential unity in the teachings of all the Saints."

Satsang is a term that means association ('sang') with the Eternal Timeless Truth or God ('Sat'). Satsang means "association with Eternal Truth" as well as "association with God," and is to some extent comparable to "church" or "temple," but not in any institutional sense. A saying of Jesus in the New Testament provides a good definition of a Satsang meetup: "Where two or three are gathered in My Name, I Am there in their midst."
The format of Satsang can include: someone giving a spiritual discourse, instruction on putting the Path into practice, a video or audio of a Master (Sant Satguru) giving a talk, readings from the writings of the Masters, the reciting or singing of banis, bhajans or kirtans (hymns of worship composed by Sants), and silent group meditation. It's considered the greatest of blessings if it is a Master who conducts the Satsang in person (or in this age of live streaming, via the web).
The effect of Satsang is that of DIVINE REMEMBRANCE, thus, with such a spiritual boost, encouragement and support for the spiritual journey, those who go to Satsang are much more likely to stay-on-the-Path and put effort into their own daily spiritual practice at home. Thus will the life of the Bhakta (lover, devotee, disciple) become more and more God-intoxicated by imbibing the spiritual wine, the nectar of divine love.
Also Covered During This Satsang Podcast: People's Attention Drowning in a New Age Soup: In an Age of Junk-Food Spirituality and Endless Internet Memes, What Satsang is NOT -- Satsang is intended to be an oasis, a refuge from the agitations of the mind, maya/illusion, the labyrinth of the world (and astral plane);
Instructions for Holding Satsang, The Purpose of Satsang, Satsang Apart from Rituals, Subject and Scope of Satsang, Love and Service the Basis of Satsang, according to Sant Kirpal Singh;
Extracts from Letters of Huzur Baba Sawan Singh About Satsang ("The Less Organization, the Better");
Authentic Traditional Satsang Templates True to the Path: "For the subject of a talk, we may take up the hymns from any scripture, preferably from the Masters of the Sound Current. It may be supplemented by apt quotations from the parallel writings of other Master Saints. The Holy Gospels themselves are full of such material as may fit in with such a context. The illustrations from various Masters are essential so as to bring out the essential unity in the teachings of all the Saints." (Kirpal Singh, Instructions For Holding Satsang)

i had cancer as a spirit
if aids makes you as jealous and envious as the lower people, although it's not your sociology...then although i was supreme ruler and dictator and stuff, like despite being dictator i was evil because i use to have cancer.
then psychologically, the arch angels can be depressive, maniac, bipolar. i am x3 adhd.
but i was also progressing at these slightly faster, and now that the evil only gets as much better as the envy does; but it will stabilize back to what it should be.
that adhd can make me really funny and innocent perhaps in a naïve way. if kirtan shabad and gurbani are tirnagle vision, then all pop is between that and true name music which isn't available (at circle vision) and angels can do it, only arch angels may act between cricle and square (but i can act from square).
we would no longer be getting better philosophically at envy and lust, so philophically they were always proponents of being more romantcia and dramatic; which to me meant different things. going forward is sociological progress (of both the evil and the adhd), and from 66 to 99 was pyschological progress.

Nagar Kirtan: Celebrating Sikh Values in the Community
A Procession of Faith and Devotion
Nagar Kirtan is a beloved Sikh tradition where community members come together to sing hymns and share their faith through a lively public procession. Often held on significant Sikh occasions like Gurpurabs, Nagar Kirtan fills the streets with the joyful sounds of sacred hymns (shabads) from the Guru Granth Sahib. This event brings people together to honor the teachings of the Sikh Gurus and celebrate their shared spirituality openly and joyfully.
The Role of the Guru Granth Sahib
At the heart of the Nagar Kirtan procession is the revered Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism, carried with great respect in a beautifully decorated palanquin. Devotees walk alongside, singing and playing music as an expression of devotion and unity. The palanquin is often surrounded by colorful displays, music, and dance, enhancing the atmosphere of joy and reverence. People of all ages participate, creating a sense of belonging and unity, while promoting the values of faith and community.
Inclusivity and Service through Langar
A core part of Nagar Kirtan is the serving of langar, or free food, to everyone attending or passing by. This act of service emphasizes Sikhism’s principles of equality, selflessness, and hospitality. By serving langar, the community shares the spirit of giving and encourages inclusivity, inviting everyone, regardless of background, to experience Sikh values firsthand. This communal aspect strengthens community bonds and reflects the importance of humility and generosity in Sikh practice.
Conclusion
Sikh events like Nagar Kirtan are essential for celebrating cultural heritage and fostering community spirit. By promoting spiritual growth and community service, these initiatives help individuals connect with their roots. Just Listen. Say Nothing For Now
It was very early morning at Harminder Sahib. The sky was just starting to light up, casting a golden glow over the temple. A Sufi stood still, head bowed, praying deeply. Tears fell from his eyes, quietly crying as his heart overflowed with emotion. People moved around him, getting ready for the morning shabad kirtan. The temple doors were about to open, and many people would soon come in. The…
