About Tav Moonridge

Early life stuff:

Tav and her family aren't originally from Baldur's Gate - Felicity, her mom, was an animal handler and Iados, her dad, was a leather worker. Both were from towns near Waterdeep and they moved to expand the leather working business.

They settled in the Blackgate district in the Outer City.

Her dad died when she was 5, sending her mom into a deep, alcohol-fueled depression forcing Tav to have to start taking care of herself.

Tav actually started pick pocketing at 6 to make sure there was money for things like food and rent - even though she was still young enough to not really understand money and she was not great at picking pockets.

In fact, she got her wrist broken by people catching her hand in their purse often.

Despite her bleeding-heart nature as an adult, as a child she had hardened off her heart and was actually deeply unpleasant to be around if she didn't like you.

She especially disliked the men her mom brought home, even Euphony - who ended up being Temerity's dad.

Euphony often described Tav as being "The grumpiest 8-year-old he had ever met" and talked her into learning the lute so she would actually have a hobby and maybe not be so grumpy.

It worked, and though she genuinely hates being compared to Euphony in any manner - he did plant the seed of loving music in her.

He also honed her pick pocketing skills because he thought that was a necessary life skill. There were other reasons, but we won't go into that here.

When Euphony vanished and their mom died (unrelated to the disappearance) - Tav hyperfocused on taking care of Temerity, her small circle of friends, and herself - pretty much in that order.

Cat and Serena - her two best friends - did make sure Tav took care of herself (as much as they could), acted her age, and had fun now and then.

They also got her in trouble now and then too though.

Tav has never been particularly great in a fight so talked her way out of trouble when she could - but if blows came to blows she didn't fight fair. Biting, clawing, and cutting words were all on the table.

She fully bit a chunk out of someone's ear as a kid.

Sometime as a teenager, around 16 or 17, she has an epiphany about urchins, poor life choices, and falling into the same pattern of behaviors that adults did to her that kept her life more difficult than it needed to be.

Because of this epiphany, she starts trying to help current urchins from starving or falling prey to the elements - even managing to recruit other people (mostly former urchins themselves) into helping provide spots where kids can go for temporary shelter or a meal if they really need one.

It takes time and she has to learn how to allow herself to care about other people again, but within the year she has 3 other people helping her keep an eye on the city's less fortunate urchins.

Her friends jokingly refer to this as her "Network" and by the time the events of BG3 role around it's a decent sized group of adults/older teenagers who all are willing to give up their couch for a night and spare a hot meal. Tav especially is well known as a safe person to go to for help.

Tav knows a large portion of the urchins in Baldur's Gate by name or at the very least by sight.

Post game time! Obviously this is going to contain spoilers end game as well as contain many headcanons and deviations from game canon. Much of the focus is going to involve her relationship with Astarion as well.

First of all, I feel like Jaheira adopts Yenna, or she leaves with Halsin because the city is just ~*~trauma~*~ at this point.

Astarion does move in to the small townhouse that Tav shares with Temerity. It is crowded, especially with all the stuff Tav hoarded during their adventure.

They also do not really have doors to the bedrooms as it's technically a one-bedroom with the actual bedroom being in the loft (Temerity's room) and a makeshift one being under the loft (Tav's room). Both rooms are sectioned off with curtains.

Astarion immediately sews the silencing rune into the curtains upon moving in.

Tav and Astarion break into Cazador's palace shortly after end game, sack it, and look for anything that can be useful to help Astarion live in the sun again.

Sometime after, Cazador's palace burns to the ground. Astarion refuses to confirm or deny if he did it - but Tav is fairly certain he did based on how he grins whenever he talks about it.

Ransacking Cazador's former palace does not help the cramped space by the way, even with their bags of holding Gale crafted - thanks to the phase spiders and their silk they found in the blighted village - space is at a premium.

Also, Temerity does NOT like Astarion and they both act a bit like cats being forced to share the same space.

Temerity does warm up to Astarion during that first winter because Tav gets horrifically ill and Astarion does commit to taking care of her.

They both still snipe at each other, but it ends up more like sibling banter than the previous "Take a walk at noon" "Go kiss a beholder" banter it had been.

Astarion can never decide how he feels about the kids that show up to sleep on the couch or for a random meal - but it does solidify in his head that Tav has always been Like That™ and he thanks every deity again that he didn't meet Tav before the Nautiloid.

Thanks to his association with Tav, Astarion gets a reputation among the orphans as a "safe" person (Astarion disapproves) who will sometimes give really good advice on slight of hand, and if you're really lucky advice on how to wield a knife (Tav disapproves).

Since there's often urchins in the house, Astarion does worry that Tav will want kids one day. Tav assures him that she absolutely does not want children as she already raised a kid - Temerity - and does not want to raise another.

Tav writes down the ballad version of events as she had been composing in her head for most of the adventure and realizes that Volo beat her to publishing the events of the Netherbrain.

It is not the most accurate account, embellishments have been made, as have insinuations of her love life - which Tav had expressly forbidden Volo from writing about.

Tav publishes her ballad in a book along with her account of the adventure, names it: 'The Ballad of Brains, Brine Pools and Balderdash', and out of spite the first page states "Ballad and true account of the adventure leading to the defeat of the Absolute as written by Tav Moonridge - the leader of the heroes of Baldur's Gate who destroyed the Netherbrain."

While Tav is having a publishing war with Volo, Astarion does his first check in with the spawn he released into the Underdark.

Mentioned this in another headcanon list but Tara discovers that the Ring of the Sunwalker is in Gale's tower in Waterdeep, and Gale gives that ring to Astarion during the epilogue party.

Between the rewards for saving the city and selling some of the things they got during adventures (and stole from Cazador), Tav and Astarion end up purchasing a larger house.

Temerity does move into the house as well because I feel like family homes tend to be multi-generational in Faerun.

Works out beautifully because Tav and Astarion end up being professional adventurers, so Temerity gets the house to herself quite a bit.

At some point, Astarion deems it "safe enough" to check in on the spawn in the Underdark with Tav, and Tav decides to donate some of the books they gathered during their adventures.

Gale, somehow discovering Astarion and Tav are going to check in on the spawn, sends copies of books and plenty of writing materials to donate to the spawn as well.

Full headcanon here - Sebastian is in charge of the library in the ruins and is delighted about the book donations since most of the reading material left in the ruins are delicate and can't really be used for casual reading.

He also is spending time transcribing and preserving old scrolls and books from the library.

Tav and Sebastian get along quite well and Astarion does not know how to feel about that.

They both visit the spawn semi-annually to check in on them and make sure things are going good.

Otherwise, most of their adventures are about locating a wish spell or the like to cure Astarion's Vampirism.

Araj periodically sticks her nose in their lives trying to get more blood from Tav and/or Astarion to bite her.

At one point she does attempt to hire people to kidnap Tav while they're out adventuring - it does not go as Araj planned and Tav tells her that if she tries to pull that again Tav won't talk Astarion out of hunting her down.

Auguri migliore amica!!

Confesso di essere un po’ stanco delle tante stucchevoli, banali e soporifere frasi di auguri di buon compleanno che trovo in giro nella rete. Possibile che uno sappia solo scrivere “A te che sei nei miei sogni, auguri di Buon compleanno”?

che sei sempre tanto carina e dolce con me, anche un po' stronza^^ ma ti si vuole bene.

Buffo no? Le persone più importanti della mia vita fanno gli anni uno il 3 gennaio, una il 25 gennaio e un'altra il 7 febbraio, come a rendere questo periodo magico, mi chiederanno cos’è per te la tua migliore amica?! Per me la mia migliore amica è la mia forza riesce sempre a non farmi arrendere quando c’è qualcosa che mi dice arrenditi lei fa in modo di darmi mille ragioni per non farlo. Lei è mai mia forza è la persona che mi ha insegnato a mettere da parte l’orgoglio quando io sono orgogliosissimo.

almeno oggi lascia stare dubbi, guai e preoccupazioni, lasciandoti travolgere dai festeggiamenti di questa nuova età^^.

15 un numero già grande di suo, non speravo che rimanessimo amici fino al 2023, abbiamo festeggiato il secondo natale/capodanno in sieme, e spero che ne festeggeremo altri forse dal vivo chi lo sa... Spero che te sia felice e spensierata, spero che non capiti nulla di brutto perché ti meriti questo compleanno....

PS: sembra che ti sto scrivendo per il 18esimo ma ok...^^

Spero che questo papiro ti piaccia perché io mi sto scervellando per trovare le parole giuste d metterci dentro.

Comunque c'è ancora moltissima strada da fare, ci saranno giorni in cui tutto non va per il verso giusto, le salite, giorni in cui va tutto bene, le discese.

Te lo dico da persona che ne sta passando di cotte e di crude, ma non stiamo parlando di me, ma bensì di te^^.

Tesoro goditi al meglio questi anni che poi non posso tornare in dietro, fai cazzate, divertiti, studia, ma la cosa più importante è che tu stai felice e serena con te stessa, manda a fanculo le persone di merda e apri la porta a quelle giuste^^

In questi giorni in cui sono stata da sola ho rimurginato meno di quanto mi sarei aspettata. Credevo potesse essere un viaggio di riflessione e invece si è rivelato molto più improntato alla leggerezza.

Poi parlando con mia madre, in un momento di relax, ho cominciato a mettere assieme i tasselli.

Sono una persona molto emotiva e in quel breve istante di confronto le cose sono diventate più chiare. Quindi per qualche momento (molto breve) mi sono sentita più sollevata, più serena.

Ma è stato un momento di awakening.

Ho riflettuto al fatto che ho ventuno anni. Ho uno stipendio stabile e un'indipendenza da ogni punto di vista.

Sono una persona molto insicura, con tanti tipi di ansie sociali. Ho paura di chiedere informazioni alle persone, ho paura di perdermi, ho paura di sbagliare.

Sono anche una ragazza particolarmente incostante. Sempre per quella necessità di auto sabotaggio, non sono mai riuscita a portare a termine qualcosa che mi giovasse o mi rendesse più felice.

Eppure nonostante ciò, non c'è stato niente nella mia vita che abbia fatto con più decisione e meno esitazione, che viaggiare da sola.

Adoro viaggiare, mi piace assaggiare nuovi cibi, mi piace l'arte, mi piace ogni tipo di cultura che si distanzia dalla mia. Mi piace avere una mente aperta, mi piace essere comprensiva. Mi piacciono le esperienze. Mi arricchiscono.

Quando mi sono resa conto che le persone che ho attorno avevano gli impegni e i lavori più disparati, e che organizzare con loro facendo incastrare i tasselli fosse molto più difficile, ho deciso di prendere in mano la situazione.

Se avessi dovuto aspettare sempre un compagno di viaggio, ad oggi avrei visto la metà di quanto abbia nel mio bagaglio turistico.

Quindi nonostante le mie tantissime ansie sociali sono partita da sola. La prima volta è stata Venezia.

Potrebbe non sembrare nulla di esagerato, eppure era relativamente lontana da casa. Non mi ero mai allontanata cosi tanto probabilmente.

E quel viaggio è stato fondamentale.

Imparare a stare da soli non è facile, lo è ancora meno quando si è da soli in una folla.

Non nego che la prima volta che ho mangiato in un ristorante da sola mi sono sentita a disagio, ci sono voluti 3 giorni per convincermi a mangiare fuori. Le persone ti guardano con stranezza, con compassione. Quasi come se il tuo essere solo non fosse una scelta. E mi è capitato, uscendo con amici, che questi compatissero persone che vedevano sole al tavolo.

Quel viaggio è stato importante. Venezia resterà per sempre nel mio cuore.

È avvenuto in un periodo particolare della mia vita in cui era appena terminata una relazione difficile, tossica durata due anni. È stato il viaggio che ha sancito l'inizio della mia rinascita, del mio percorso di risanamento che si è prolungato per quasi un anno e mezzo.

Avevo la necessità di sentirmi padrona della mia vita dopo aver donato ogni mia molecola a un uomo che non era stato capace di valorizzarne neanche mezza.

Ricordo che tutti attorno a me erano preoccupati. Viaggiare da soli era un'eresia, un discorso fin troppo evoluto e avventato per la mia famiglia.

Io invece volevo farlo.

La mia iniziazione ha luogo in terapia. La mia psicoterapeuta mi raccontava dei suoi viaggi in solitaria e io ero fortemente affascinata. Avevo quindici anni e al tempo credevo che non sarei mai stata capace di riporre una sicurezza tale nella mia persona.

Quattro anni dopo ho dimostrato a me, e a chiunque attorno a me, il contrario.

Oggi sono qui a scrivere questa riflessione perché parlo da un albergo in Germania.

È il mio primo viaggio all'estero da sola. Finora mi ero concentrata sull'Italia: per il covid non c'è stata molta possibilità di viaggiare all'estero.

Ma anche e soprattutto perché questo è un percorso che si compone di step. Ho iniziato in Italia dove mi sento oramai sicura e tranquilla.

Ora sono approdata all'estero.

Viaggiare da soli all'estero, se non per la lingua, non si differenzia troppo dal viaggiare in madrepatria. È l'abitudine alla solitudine, è lo stare bene in solitudine, la tranquillità nel mangiare da soli, nel chiedere informazioni se necessario, che, una volta acquisiti, sono una ricchezza che si può sfruttare ovunque.

Sono soddisfatta. E non mi capita spesso.

Sento di essere coraggiosa, sento di aver superato tanti miei limiti e sento di poterne affrontare altri cento.

Ovviamente ci sono ancora tante realtà da esplorare. Tante paure che ho ancora, come i paesi extracontinentali, o quelli che non parlano inglese. Ma arriveremo col tempo anche a quelli.

Per ora ci si muove in piccoli passi. Èstata l'inaugurazione all'Europa e sono felice all'idea di poter affrontare tanti altri viaggi senza aver bisogno di nessuno necessariamente.

Tirando le somme di questo viaggio giunto quasi al termine, sono contenta perché avevo paura che all'estero la "pseudo-sicurezza" che avevo acquisito in Italia potesse vacillare. Invece nonostante delle piccole difficoltà e degli incidenti di percorso dovuti ad una lingua estremamente diversa, sono stata bene.

Non c'è niente di più bello che guardare indietro e ricordarsi di tutte quelle paure che all'inizio erano bloccanti, montagne insormontabili da scalare. Oggi quelle paure esistono ancora, ogni tanto fanno capolino e provano a creare il panico. Ma metterle costantemente alla prova ha fatto sì che queste siano più facilmente affrontabili.

Non è detto che siamo capaci di affrontare definitivamente le paure che abbiamo acquisito fin da bambini, ma di certo possiamo diminuirne l'impatto mettendoci costantemente alla prova.

È una riflessione che ho voluto buttare giù in questo post, così da poterla rileggere nei momenti di sconforto più grande.

Perché se solo nei momenti di dolore fossimo abili a ricordare le nostre capacità e i nostri traguardi raggiunti con fatica, allora questi avrebbero un peso diverso.

Erano molto felici, ma quella felicità era un po' mista alla paura dovuta all'incertezza che ancora regnava sull'accaduto. La Vergine era improvvisamente scomparsa. Quando i ragazzi iniziarono a pregare riapparve nuovamente ed era meravigliosa, serena, felice e sorridente. Vicka aveva sotto il consiglio della nonna portato con se dell'acqua benedetta. La saggia nonna le aveva detto che se si trattava di un inganno di Satana, di certo con l'acqua benedetta sarebbe scomparsa. Possiamo solo figurarci quale coraggio si nascondesse nel suo animo per compiere una simile azione; qualche dubbio anche se minimo lo avrà di certo avuto, se era davvero Satana ad operare tale meraviglia si sarebbe solo dileguato o avrebbe reagito? Questo poteva essere un dubbio lecito soprattutto per una ragazzina che però crede alle parole della nonna e una volta in compagnia della Vergine, Vicka prende l'acqua ed inizia ad aspergerla dicendo: "Se sei la Madonna rimani con noi, se non lo sei vattene via!". Udito questo la Vergine sorrise si illuminò ancora di più rimanendo con i ragazzi. Da quel momento grazie al coraggio di Vicka non ebbero più alcun dubbio sull'identità di quella bella Signora. Il 5° giorno, il 28 giugno, in largo anticipo rispetto all'orario consueto, giunsero molte persone provenienti dal territorio. Di nuovo il coraggio di Vicka non si fa attendere, anzi sembra esseresi rafforzato dopo il semplice esorcismo. I ragazzi pregarono con la Madonna e si azzardarono a farle addirittura delle domande. Vicka le chiese: "Madonna mia, cosa desideri da noi?" ed ancora "Madonna mia, cosa desideri dai nostri sacerdoti?" ed Ella risponde "Che il popolo preghi e creda veramente!" e, in merito ai sacerdoti, disse che essi dovevano credere realmente ed aiutare anche gli altri in tal senso. Quel giorno la Vergine venne ed andò via più volte. In una successiva occasione i ragazzi le chiesero perché non si manifestasse nella chiesa parrocchiale dove tutti avrebbero potuto vederla, ma Lei rispose: "Beati coloro che senza vedere crederanno". Sebbene la giornata fosse afosa e la gente facesse molte domande i ragazzi si sentivano come in paradiso. Oggi Vicka cerca nonostante i suoi numerosi impegni familiari e di salute di mantenere alcuni appuntamenti con i pellegrini per dare la sua testimonianza, e ciò che più affascina è la sua descrizione del Paradiso, del Purgatorio e dell’Inferno che la Gospa accompagnò a visitare insieme al piccolo veggente Jacov. “La Madonna ci ha detto: «Guardate quanto sono felici e contente le persone che si rovano qui in Paradiso». Judas Iscariot ended up in Hell According to the Mystical City of God a book about the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary that was dictated to the Venerable Mary of Agreda by the Blessed Mother, in the center of earth is the hell of the damned. This hell is a chaotic cavern, which contains many darksome dwellings for diverse punishments, all of them dreadful and terrible. In this horrible dungeon filled with confusion and torments were the demons and all the damned, and shall be there for all eternity. To one side of hell is purgatory, where the souls of the just are purged and there cleanse themselves, if they have not satisfied for their faults in this life, or have not departed from this earthly life entirely free from the defects incapacitating them for the beatific vision. This cavern is also large, but not so large as hell; and though there are severe punishments in purgatory, they have no connection with those of hell. To the other side is limbo with two different divisions. The one for the children, who die unbaptized and tainted only with original sin, without either good or bad works of their own election. The other served as a retreat for the just, who had already satisfied for their sins; for they could not enter heaven, nor enjoy the vision of God until the Redemption of man was accomplished and until Christ our Savior should open the gates of heaven closed by the sin of Adam. This cavern is smaller than hell and has no connection with it, nor are there in it the pains of the senses like in purgatory. For it was destined for the souls already cleansed in purgatory. This is the place to which Christ’s soul descended with the Divinity and which we refer to in saying that He descended into hell. After the final judgement heaven and Hell only are to be inhabited, since purgatory shall become unnecessary. Judas having hung himself on a dried-out fig tree was the murderer of his Creator and his own murderer. The demons at once took possession of the soul of Judas and brought it down to hell. His entrails burst from the body hanging upon the tree. The body remained hanging by the neck for three days. After three days, the demons snatched the body from the tree and brought it to his soul, in order that both might suffer eternal punishment in the profoundest abyss of hell. Among the obscure caverns of the infernal prisons was a very large one, arranged for more horrible chastisements than the others, and which was still unoccupied. The demons had been unable to cast any soul into it, although their cruelty had induced them to attempt it many times from the time of Cain unto that day. All hell had remained astonished at the failure of these attempts, until the arrival of the soul of Judas, which they readily succeeded in hurling and burying in this prison never before occupied by any of the damned. The secret of it was, that this cavern of greater torments and fiercer fires of hell, from the creation of the world, had been destined for those, who, after having receive Baptism, would damn themselves by the neglect of the Sacraments, the doctrines, the Passion and Death of the Savior, and the intercession of his most holy Mother. As Judas had been the first one who had so signally participated in these blessings, and as he had so fearfully misused them, he was also the first to suffer the torments of this place, prepared for him and his imitators and followers. The demons torment Judas with inexpressible cruelty, because he persisted in the betrayal of his Master, by whose Passion and Death they were vanquished and despoiled of the possession of the world. The wrath which they had conceived against the Savior and his blessed Mother, they wreak, as far as is allowed them, on all those who imitate the traitorous disciple and who follow him in his contempt of the evangelical law, of the Sacraments and of the fruits of the Redemption. And in this the demons are but executing just punishment on those members of the mystical body of Christ, who have severed their connection with its head Christ, and who have voluntarily drifted away and delivered themselves over to the accursed hate and implacable fury of his enemies. As Judas and the impenitent thief had so recently and signally shared this misfortune, so their torments were greater; and the demons were the more highly incensed against them. Then and there the infernal spirits resolved to persecute and torment more grievously the Catholics, and chastise more severely those who should deny or repudiate the Catholic faith. It is a devotion that was first heard of through a Carmelite Nun named Sister Mary of St. Peter in France, 1844, who stated Our Lord revealed this devotion to her at Mount Carmel. Sister Mary of St. Peter stated that Our Lord wanted this devotion to be spread throughout the world with the goal of making reparation for the sins which offend God. The sister explained that, on the 25 August 1843, the Lord addressed her saying: Sister Marie de st Pierre ‘My Name is everywhere blasphemed. Even children blaspheme.’ And He made me understand that this frightful sin, more than any other, grievously wounds His Divine Heart. By blasphemy, the sinner curses Him to His Face, attacks Him openly, annuls redemption, and pronounces his own condemnation and judgment. Blasphemy is a poisoned arrow ever wounding His Divine Heart. He told me that He wishes to give me a Golden Arrow wherewith to wound His Heart delightfully and heal these wounds inflicted by the sinners’ malice.” The Lord dictated a prayer known as the Golden Arrow to the Sister that would act as a means of devotion and reparation Tuesday Devotion to the Holy Face The Lord also requested that His Holy Face be honoured each Tuesday and especially on Shrove Tuesday, the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday which marks the start of Lent. Requesting this devotion, Jesus appeared covered with blood and very sadly said to Blessed Pierina: “Do you see how I suffer? Yet, very few understand me. Ciao.

Indipendentemente da che persona x sia uomo o donna, ti rispondo "gli occhi", per due motivi.

1) Ho un debole per gli occhi chiari. Mi ci perdo in quel mare d'azzurro e/o verde.

2) Gli occhi ci permettono di capire tante cose, secondo me, di una persona.

Per esempio se è felice, gli occhi brillano e ci danno l'illusione che siano anch'essi felici.

Se una persona è arrabbiata generalmente abbiamo la sensazione che si colorino di rosso acceso.

Se una persona piange, si riempiono di lacrime e persone come me, che hanno la sindrome da crocerossina, sentono sempre la necessità di asciugar loro le lacrime, per sentirsi appagante poi, nel vedere che tale persona, grazie a te, è di nuovo serena.

Inizio sempre a contare l'anno che inizia dal mio compleanno che è il 30 Gennaio.

Quindi sono passati quasi 6 mesi dall'inizio dell'anno.

I primi 6 mesi.

Un bilancio?

Un lavoro andato male, una relazione che finendo mi sta facendo venire tantissime domande, uno stato di dolore che non provavo forse da un decennio.

Mi sono resa conto che ho effettivamente dei buoni amici, mi sono anche diciamo così, riavvicinata alla fede in Dio.

Ah e ho cambiato casa fattore importante.

Ho sempre pensato che siamo al posto giusto nel momento giusto.

È come se l'anno ricominciasse da qui in un certo qual senso.
