Full moon is coming up. Got some supplies for a few spell jars, my favorite ritual bath salts, and I made off with a very recommended reference book. Now I know Cunningham tends to conflate witchcraft and wicca and then I've heard he does romanticize Celtic and other country's lore so of course I'll read with a critical eye. It's a wet rainy day here in Scotland so I love nothing more than to use times like this to relax and improve my knowledge of the craft. I am at the moment reading Scott Cunningham book "The secret craft of the wise, Magical Herbalism" and taking notes for my herbalist journal.

Some books that i would like to read

To start Wicca i have learned that it is essential that we need to consume as much information as possible. Books are important to read since they contain so much information about everything you need to know.

sooooo... the list. Only have a 3 books so far, but these are the ones that i truly want to read as soon as possible as i think they are great to begin with.

WICCA a guide to the solitary practitioner - by Scott Cunningham

Seventy eight degrees of wisdom - by Rachel Pollack

The first two books have the basic knowledge of Wicca and is basically all you need to know from all the research i have done.

The last book by Rachel Pollack is about tarot. All the card definitions, the different card decks and related spells and rituals are in this book and i believe that it is the only book you will need to definitely learn tarot.

Had to go for a walk and gather some eucalyptus leaves when I learned about their healing & purification properties (fo so something I need rn). This is actually an "oldie but goodie" as far as #witchbooks go but I will never understand this cover. Ever. 😆 Someone said maybe it looks like this to convey that yes, even "young women in 1980s businesswear with jobs that require briefcases can be and are witches" 🤔🤷🏼‍♀️ I guess back then, as now, there's all sorts of people about with the misconception that witchcraft has anything to do with devil-worship?
