Bucky met Sarah's warm gaze, noticing the way her eyes crinkled at the corners as she smiled at him, and he found himself drawing closer to her, wanting badly to capture her lips in his in a gentle kiss.
Title: The Sweetest Risk | Bucky Barnes x Sarah Wilson | Rating: General | Words: Part 1/1 (1053 Words) | Prompt: SarahBucky Fleur De Louve Month 2023 - Week 1, Day 2 Prompt: “Sweet Potato Pie” | Synopsis: Bucky Barnes shoots his shot and asks Sarah Wilson on a date.
Tumblr media
Bucky smiled as he carefully balanced two white boxes with two pies from Sarah's favorite bakery downtown in one hand and a paper bag with an armful of flowers in the other. He stepped up to her porch two at a time and knocked on her door. When she opened it, Sarah smiled widely when she saw the pies and flowers and hugged Bucky.
He had decided to bring something special for Sarah when she had invited him over for dinner with her brother Sam and her boys. He had remembered Sam mentioning that sweet potato pie was Sarah's favorite, so he had gone downtown to her favorite bakery and picked up two. He also couldn't resist buying her a bouquet of flowers, hoping it'd show her his intention to get to know her better.
As Sarah invited him inside, Bucky couldn't help but notice how the dim light of her living room made her eyes sparkle. He had always felt a connection to her, and he cherished how welcoming she was to him.
Dinner was a lively affair, with Sarah's two kids, AJ and Cass, eagerly relating stories of their school day and Sarah's laughter easily filling the room. Bucky smiled, noticing how comfortable and at ease everyone seemed in her presence. As they ate, conversation flowed effortlessly among them--talking about books they had read, the latest movies, politics, and even the quirky neighbor down the street.
Amidst all this, Bucky found himself stealing glances at Sarah from time to time. He couldn't help but be drawn to her vibrant spirit and easy warmth surrounding their dinner table. Whenever his gaze met hers, she smiled knowingly back at him, and he felt a pleasant shiver run down his spine each time they locked eyes.
After dinner, Sam challenged his nephews to a race of their new toy trucks in the living room. The kids cheered and squealed in delight as their little vehicles zoomed around on the carpet.
Bucky smiled as he watched the kids laughing and racing their little toy trucks around the living room. They were so carefree and happy in that moment, making him feel happy for them.
He and Sarah soon went about cleaning up the dinner they had shared. Sarah had prepared a delicious meal, and Bucky noticed how peaceful and comfortable the kitchen was compared to the chaos in the other room. As they worked together, they kept up a steady conversation about movies, books, and other topics easily.
Bucky couldn't help but steal glances at Sarah as they worked. Her hair was pulled up in a messy bun, revealing her soft neckline, and she had ditched her sweater in the kitchen's warmth. He was struck by how casually beautiful she was--he noticed how her eyes lit up when she talked about something she was passionate about or how her lips slightly curved upwards into an easy smile when she laughed at one of his jokes.
Bucky and Sarah continued to clean together comfortably. As Bucky reached for a plate, Sarah's hand accidentally brushed against his metal arm. He instinctively tensed, expecting her to recoil from the reminder of his dark past.
But instead, she simply smiled softly and gave him an understanding look. Sarah didn't flinch away. Instead, her fingers lingered, openly grazing along the smooth metal plates. She touched his arm as if it were the most normal thing in the world. Just like she had accepted every part of him since they first met, seeing him for who he was now, not who he used to be.
At that moment, Bucky felt a warmth in his chest that he hadn't felt in a long time. He met Sarah's warm gaze, noticing the way her eyes crinkled at the corners as she smiled at him, and he found himself drawing closer to her, wanting badly to capture her lips in his in a gentle kiss. She inched forward to meet his, but Sam's voice in the other room distracted them and she pulled away.
From the living room, Sam's voice rang out. "Cass, no throwing the trucks!" Then softer, to himself, "Definitely gotta talk to Bucky about flirting with my sister..."
Bucky ducked his head sheepishly, but Sarah just grinned and playfully bumped his shoulder. "Don't worry about him," she whispered. As she slid her hand down Bucky's metal arm, he shivered pleasantly.
"It's nice getting to spend time with you tonight," she said softly. "Joining us for dinner meant a lot for the boys."
"Just the boys?" Bucky couldn't help but shoot his shot, feeling a connection grow between them.
Sarah smiled beautifully at him. "It meant a lot to me too. I figured you'd already know that."
Bucky swallowed, his heart pounding in his chest as he nervously looked into Sarah's eyes. He wanted to make the most of this moment, to express the feelings he had been harboring for her since they had first met.
"Maybe next time you'll let me cook for you, just us two," he blurted out, instantly regretting how cheesy it sounded.
Sarah tilted her head and gave him a small grin. "Yeah?"
The corners of Bucky's mouth lifted into a timid smile as Sarah waited patiently for his response. He nodded slowly, feeling bolder than before. He stepped closer and caught her hand, gently running his thumb over her knuckles. "Go on a date with me, Sarah?"
Sarah blushed and looked up at him through thick lashes, her eyes bright and her smile as beautiful as ever. "Yes. I'd really like that, Bucky."
Bucky couldn't help but smile widely and gave her hand a gentle squeeze, feeling a warmth in his chest that he hadn't felt in a long time. This amazing woman was going to give him a shot.
The two of them stayed like that for what felt like an eternity before Sam's voice interrupted them from the living room. "You two almost done in there?" they heard Sam call out.
Bucky and Sarah shared knowing glances and chuckled to themselves. Sarah called back to Sam jokingly, "Almost," before returning to Bucky.
Yeah, he was definitely in trouble here with Sam for asking Sarah out on a date. But one look at her glowing smile made him think some risks are worth taking.

fic pride weekend midweek
thank you so very much, @eusuntgratie, for tagging me!
Rules: Post your favourite line or passage from as many of your published works as you’d like. Let yourself feel proud of your creations! Tag as many people as you post snippets, so your fellow fic friends can be proud, too.
hope on the horizon
She turns and gives [Bucky] a quick salute then continues on her way. Once she’s behind the count, Nat catches Sarah’s eye. Holding her hands about twelve inches apart, she mouths to Sarah, He has a huge dick!
Sarah laughs as she pulls a coffee stirrer out of the little caddy on the table and calls out, “Yes, thank you for that information, Nat!”
not too tired
“If you broke my phone—” Sarah starts to say, raising up to look behind him.
He shoves her down and plants his hand on her back to keep her there. “Then I’ll buy you a new one. Now shut up and take this dick.”
brighter than ever
… Their fingers brush when he grabs the bucket and he feels the same sizzle he always does; the ricochet of lightning through his body that settles and hums under his skin whenever she’s around.
stevie’s mom has got it goin’ on
“You kiss your mother with that mouth?”
“Yeah, and I’m gonna kiss yours with it, too.”
Steve slowly turns his head, eyes wide and fierce with murderous intent. Bucky puts his hand up, trying to protest his innocence, but Steve balls up his fist and stalks toward him.
but keep your heart up
Bucky hums low in his throat, still in that space between awake and asleep. If he keeps his eyes closed long enough, he’ll drift straight back into sleep. Lulled by the softness of the morning and Sam’s warmth curled into his side. He frowns when he feels Sam roll away from him. The bed dips and the sheet slides down to his hips.
something to talk about
Bucky’s smile widens when he catches sight of the covered dish in her hands. “Hey, kid; whatcha got there?”
“Well, my momma said to tell you we had some extra blackberry cobbler layin’ around. But, really, she just made the one. And it’s for you.”
The Holidate
“She’d kill me and then where would you be? Without your best friend in the whole wide world, that’s where.”
Closing the cooler and lifting it by both handles, she gives him a look before heading toward her truck. “You’re my brother’s best friend. We are acquaintances at best.”
a perfect end to a perfect day
He smiles a little to himself as he looks out over the lake, ears catching the song of a far-off bird. Sarah’s body heat seeps into his right side and her heartbeat thumps gently in his ear, a counterpoint to the crickets in the grass. The scent of her, warm skin and lotion, fills his nostrils and he breathes deep, pulling her in.
a night for bad dreams
With deft skill borne from years of experience, Okoye quickly gets her youngest settled back in her own bed without waking her. She kisses Esihle’s forehead before making her way back to the living room.
Attuma sits up at her approach, scrubbing one had over his face, he reaches for her with the other. He pulls her in to stand between his legs and asks, “Time ‘s it?” around a small yawn.
across the ocean blue
K’uk’ulkan sighs happily as he strolls toward the town center, food stalls giving way first to the fabric weavers then to the armorers and vibranium forgers. Attuma follows a few paces behind, eyes drawn to the showers of sparks as new spears and axes are shaped from raw vibranium. His left hand aches with yearning for the familiar weight of smooth metal.
He passes forge after forge, sees spear upon spear and ax after ax being stockpiled, and feels anticipation flutter in his chest. His people are preparing for war. Soon, he will be called upon, his altar overflowing with the choicest offerings, smoke from fresh candles mingling with the finest incense… And he will be glad to answer their prayers, to give their warriors strength and speed and courage against their enemy.
the calm before the storm
Taking a fortifying breath and blowing it out, [Attuma] goes first to the children’s room. He smooths the frown from Itzel’s sleeping face, unsurprised to see that even in her dreams she remains serious. Next, he gathers Khanyiswa’s discarded blankets from the floor and tucks her back in, as he has many a night. Coming upon the third bed, he smiles softly at the sight of little Esihle and Chimalmat curled together like kittens.

Fave falcon and winter soldier scenes??
hello there! thank you so much for sending this ask! sorry it took the mod a minute to respond, a weather event caused some power outages and the mod had to relocate temporarily.
to answer your question: when first watching the series, my favorite scene was in episode five when sarah and bucky meet for the first time. the sweet smiles from both of them, the way bucky looked her up and down then grinned as he repeated her name and introduced himself, the giddy grin on her face as she talks to him…
then The Deleted Scene got released and bucky asks sam where “everyone” is while scanning the crowd, then said “hey… there’s chemistry”… it was and is so much vindication for me personally because the first time i saw the final episode i knew bucky was looking for sarah when he showed up to the cookout. then there’s the added bonus of sarah reciprocating his interest when she goes to sit next to him, only to be thwarted by her big brother bring his overprotective self. i’m really frustrated by the decision of those running the show to not make time to develop the relationship between sarah and bucky.

Asking for a friend ...
What kind of flowers does Sarah Wilson like? 💐
What does she like in general? 🎁 I think she's a "down-to-earth" person, but that doesn't mean she's not liking some more "girly-stuff" (if you know what I mean), from time to time?
I'm an absolute lost cause in this regards ...
I need help! 😳

The Whoopsie
Rating: For Everyone
Pairing: Sarah/Bucky
Summary: Bucky is recovering from a whoopsie. The Wilsons behave accordingly.
Prompt: Found Family
Author's Note: It's a day late, but I hope that's okay. 😁
_________________---
“Sam, what did I tell you??”
“Sarah, this wasn’t my fault!”
“Like hell this isn’t your fault! You’re the one who took him from our family dinner table to investigate that factory just because your Falcon senses were tingling!”
“Falcon senses?” *snort* “Ow, that actually hurt.”
“Don’t move too much James. My poor guy.”
“James?? When did he become James??”
“Uh…recently?”
“Recently??”
“Yes, recently! You might as well know; Sam. James and I are official.”
“Aha! I knew you moving down and having dinner at the house wasn’t just you being protective! What did I tell you about dating my sister??”
“I-”
“I am grown, Sam! He is also grown! If we want to date each other then there’s nothing you can do to stop us!”
“I got a Vibranium shield and a Wakandan suit that has allowed me to do a shitload of things and that could include cutting a geriatric super soldier into tiny pieces when he least expects it!”
“I’m kind of already hurting soo…..”
“Samuel Thomas Wilson don’t you dare raise my man’s blood pressure! I want him alive!”
“Listen Sarah Eunice Wilson, he was my friend first, so I get to decide whether he lives long enough to be dating my little sister!!”
“Are you guys fighting over me?”
“Shut up, man, don’t make it weird.”
“I’m not some Southern belle that needs to be protected from gentleman callers! I am a woman and I have needs!”
“Gah! I don’t want to know about that!”
“Then stay out my business and let me take care of my man! And stop hauling him out on your crazy adventures. That’s what Joaquin is for!”
“Joaquin is still green, and I know Bucky could handle himself. It’s not my fault he caught the grenade and threw it too late.”
“Baby, a grenade?? Are you trying to break my heart?”
“No, babe, I swear I tried to move fast…”
“James if anything had happened-”
“Shhh, it won’t. I’ll be good, I’ll be so good for you.”
“….”
“…”
“Are you two really going to make me sit here and watch you kiss each other??”
“There’s the door. No one’s stopping you.”
“I ain’t leaving my partner while he’s recovering. I stayed for Steve, and I’ll stay for Bucky.”
“Thanks, man.”
“You’re welcome. I’m still kicking your ass though.”
“No, you’re not. Once James is allowed to leave, he’s coming home where I’m going to make sure he gets all the TLC he needs.”
“Aw babe, you don’t have to.”
“Hush and be spoiled, James.”
“Yes Ma’am.”
“Hey, how come I never got any TLC when I get hurt?”
“When was the last time you got hurt?”
“Uh…”
“Exactly!”
“I got some cuts and bruises here!”
“Nothing some painkillers and Merthiolate can’t fix.”
“Nope! Get that shit away from my cuts!”
“Chicken.”
“Like to see you handle it!”
“Look at these hands. Does it look like I can’t handle a nick or two?”
“Yeah, yeah. Not like I don’t have my own. You gave me a few when we were kids.”
“That’s what you get for picking on me.”
*snort* “Ow…you need to stop making me laugh.”
“You hungry, baby?”
“I don’t think I can handle anything heavy right now.”
“Sam go ask if they have any soup.”
“Fine, you want anything?”
“No, just want my man home.”
“Home with you sounds good right now.”
“Ya’ll behave. I’ll be right back.”
“He’s protective of you.”
“He’s protective of you too.”
“We’re both soldiers. We don’t leave our own behind.”
“It’s more than that, James. You’re important to us Wilsons and we protect our kin.”
“I’m family?”
“Damn right.”
“I like that. I like that a whole lot.”
“Good, now rest and let that super soldier shit do its thing so we can get you home faster.”
“You got it….Eunice.”
“Boy don’t start with me.”
*snort* “Ow, your middle name is Eunice.”
“I didn’t ask to be named after a great aunt. Now shut up before I get on your name Buchanan.”
The End

The post-Flag Smashers cookout scene that closes The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was edited down from this:
Tumblr media
* * * * * *
That newly-released for the BluRay Special Features cut shows what the writers intended for Bucky’s post-Winter Soldier life.
For me, this little scene beautifully precedes one of my all-time favourite fics that begins Sarah & Bucky’s relationship and starts a whole series called The SarahBucky Songbook & B-Sides:
In celebration of SarahBucky Canon Day (screw all that, it’s SarahBucky Canon Week) here’s the first “song” in the Songbook:
Don’t Get Around Much Anymore by @btwxsixesandsevens

#ICYMI
In my mind, the party on the dock continued at Sarah’s home.

Bucky Barnes gets a bewitching Halloween treat when Sarah Wilson appears at his doorstep, her face lit up with a brilliant smile. “Trick r’ treat!” she said as their eyes met in a heated gaze.
Title: A Taste So Sweet | Bucky Barnes x Sarah Wilson | Fandom: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier | Rating: Mature | Words: Part 1/1 (2328 Words) | Prompt: SarahBucky @fleurdelouvemonth and @fleurdelouve - Week 1, Day 1 Prompt: “Halloween Candy”
Tumblr media
Bucky watched in disbelief as group after group of children and teens dressed up as monsters, superheroes, witches, and fairies trooped past his house. He had initially been excited about joining in the festivities surrounding Halloween. Still, he was now feeling overwhelmed at the sheer number of trick-or-treaters that kept anxiously jostling at his front door.
He could hear Sam's voice ringing in his head, telling him to stock up on treats ahead of the evening's activities. On impulse, Bucky had gone to the store and purchased enough candy to fill an entire cauldron - more than enough for the small army of costumed kids parading up his walkway.
After living in New York City for a few years, he was unaccustomed to experiencing Halloween like this. New Orleans' proximity meant that Halloween was taken very seriously here. His neighbors went all out with scary decorations, and some even hosted light shows or static haunts in their garages.
It was the first time Bucky had experienced Halloween in his new neighborhood, and he could feel the excitement from both children and adults alike. He walked into the living room to look at the clock – it was 7 p.m.; he had a few more hours before kids would be done trick-or-treating. After making sure he had enough candy to last until 9 p.m., he set out a sizeable pumpkin-shaped bucket full of treats on a table near the entrance of his door, which he'd grab and provide the little ghouls and goblins who would come by.
One by one, groups of costumed children started arriving at Bucky's house. There were toddlers with their parents, gaggles of elementary schoolers, and even a few high schoolers. Bucky watched them all take turns selecting handfuls of candy from the white bucket he'd set out on the porch. He couldn't help feeling a pang of regret that he'd bought so much candy – but then again, it was worth it just to see how delighted they were.
The most recent group of trick-treaters waved him goodbye as they ran off to his neighbor's house to continue their journey for more candy. Just as he was about to close the door, he spotted a familiar face walking up the sidewalk towards him. It was Sarah, Sam's sister, donning a classic black witch's hat over her long hair and wearing a playful smirk on her face. Their eyes met.
Sarah stood before Bucky, her face lit up with a brilliant smile. “Trick r’ treat!” she said.
He was temporarily stunned by her beauty before composing himself.
"Hey! What are you supposed to be? Aren’t you old for trick-or-treating?" He joked, looking at her costume and wondering why she had come to his neighborhood.
"I'm old enough, thank you very much," She chuckled teasingly, sticking her tongue out playfully. Bucky noticed that Sarah was alone and asked about her boys AJ and Cass.
"Oh, I just dropped them off at a friend's place a few blocks away from here," She answered, grinning shyly as she revealed her true purpose: to visit him. "They're all trick-or-treating together, so I thought I'd swing by and see you."
Bucky felt his heart swell with warmth as he imagined her thinking of him. It was like a dream come true. He opened the door wider to welcome her in, and when she entered, they both erupted into laughter at the sight of all the candy bags he had bought.
"Okay, that's SO much candy! The kids will love you!" Sarah said, still stifling giggles.
"I'm trying to get rid of them," he said sheepishly as he directed her to the bowl on the entry table near the door.
Sarah laughed again at his over-preparedness before following Bucky to his kitchen, where he opened the fridge and asked if she wanted any refreshments.
"I have beer, apple cider, sparkling water..." She accepted his offer enthusiastically with a look of admiration.
"Oh, apple cider would be amazing!"
He twisted open an apple cider for her and handed it across the counter while opening himself a bottle of beer. Bucky could hear children's voices from outside, but there were no trick-or-treaters yet who had arrived and rang his doorbell. There was a small lull before another surge of trick-or-treaters came.
The two caught up so naturally. Bucky could feel an ease in their conversation as Sarah shared stories about her two boys deciding to be Sherlock Holmes and one a t-rex for Halloween. They even talked about the best costumes they've seen so far, reminiscing about their childhood trick-or-treating experiences.
As the night wore on, Bucky found himself completely entranced by Sarah's infectious laughter and sparkling eyes. They moved to the living room couch, sitting side by side in close proximity. He couldn't help but lean in closer to her as she spoke, wanting to absorb every word she said like a sponge.
Suddenly, they were interrupted by the sound of the doorbell ringing. Bucky glanced at his watch and noticed it was getting pretty late - it must have been close to 10 pm already.
"Let me get that," he said quickly, feeling the familiar pang of disappointment when he realized their intimate conversation had come to an end. He stood up and took his bowl of candy before opening the door.
"Trick-or-treat!" A group of four kids dressed as Pokemon with their parents dressed as a Pokemon Trainer greeted him. Bucky smiled warmly and spoke kindly to the little elementary school kids, nodding in approval at their costumes and giving them generous amounts of candy.
Sarah peered over the couch to watch Bucky interact with the children and felt her heart swell with admiration. More and more trick-or-treaters kept coming until it seemed like the line would never end. At one point, Sarah decided to join Bucky in front of the doorway, giving out candy alongside him from a bag she took off the counter.
The line continued for a solid fifteen minutes until another lull came forth and no new trick-or-treaters came by. Bucky closed the door and joined Sarah on the couch as they both flopped down in exhaustion.
"Tiring, huh?" Sarah asked with twinkling eyes as she settled into the spot beside him.
Bucky gave her a sheepish smile and ran his fingers through his disheveled hair. "It feels like it never ends…" He paused and added with a hint of mischief in his voice, "But I don't mind it too much when I have a beautiful woman by my side."
"I..." she was almost taken aback by his forwardness, then her smile widened, revealing small dimples along the sides of her mouth. "You could always just leave the bowl outside and just let them take whatever they want."
"You think that'll work?" His heart raced as he moved closer to her on the couch.
"I think so," she said, her voice low and sultry as she scooted close to him. She grabbed the bowl of candy and rummaged through it.
"Looking for something specific?" he asked her, amused.
"Hmmm... I'm looking for a Hershey's chocolate bar, the white chocolate one." Bucky watched her closely, admiring how graceful her long fingers were as they searched through the bowl.
"There should be a ton there, not many kids picked them when I let them select which candies to get." Her eyes sparkled as she looked up at him, and he felt drawn into her gaze.
"Are you kidding? They're so picky nowadays, huh?" They laughed together, and the room seemed to heat up exponentially with each passing second.
"Ah! I found one! I couldn't pass up all this free candy," Sarah teased as she pulled out a mini white chocolate bar. As she unwrapped it and took a small nibble, Bucky found himself mesmerized by those lush lips and the way they moved around the confection.
"Want a bite?" Sarah asked, catching his gaze and holding out the candy. She slowly bit the bottom of her lip before smiling at him innocently, but there was something else about her expression - an invitation - that made Bucky's stomach flip. He had been wanting to kiss those lips since he'd first seen them curve into that mischievous grin earlier tonight.
Heart pounding, Bucky's gaze slowly moved from Sarah's lips to her eyes. He leaned in, and instead of taking the offered candy, he brushed his lips against hers. They both gasped at the sudden contact, and as if this was a sign, their kiss deepened.
Sarah tasted like chocolate and felt so soft under his fingers as they explored each other's faces and bodies. His hands moved to her hips and pulled her closer until their bodies were flush against each other. Their tongues collided in a passionate dance of desire that left them both breathless when they finally pulled apart.
"That was..." Sarah whispered, trailing off with a sigh.
"Amazing," Bucky finished for her. The air was electric between them, heavy with unspoken longing that neither of them wanted to break.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang again and they jumped apart as if electrocuted, laughter bubbling out of them before they remembered why they were there. As Bucky went to answer the door, his mind was still on the kiss he had shared with Sarah moments ago.
As the night went on and more trick-r-treaters arrived and departed, the couple found themselves alone on the couch, close but not touching. Finally, Bucky spoke up. "Sarah, I know we've been friends only for a short time, but tonight...that kiss...I can't stop thinking about it." Sarah smiled at him from under her eyelashes, and he could see the same desire reflected in her eyes that he was feeling in his own heart. Without another word, their lips met again and this time it was slow and tender - like two puzzle pieces coming together after searching for so long.
Sarah gently pulled away from Bucky and pressed her body against his, her arms wrapping around his neck as though she never wanted to let go. "Bucky... I've always wanted to do this with you," she said softly.
As her lips met him, a spark of electricity coursed through her body. She felt the warmth radiating from his chest and the gentle beat of his heart as she pressed herself closer into him. The kiss grew more passionate with each passing moment, and Sarah felt an intense desire building inside of her.
She reached up to grasp Bucky's face in her hands and trace the outline of it with her fingertips. His long, wavy hair was so soft against her skin that she wanted to keep touching it forever. He repositioned them both on the couch, so she was straddling him with her legs on either side of his thighs.
Sarah could feel Bucky's excitement pressing into her, and his hands moved up under her shirt to explore the warmth of her skin. She gasped at his touch and dug her fingers into his back, wanting this moment to never end.
Suddenly, Bucky pulled away and looked deep into her eyes. In a voice full of longing he whispered "Sarah – I want you" and at that moment, all doubts fled from Sarah's mind - she knew this is what she wanted too.
Without another word, she pressed her lips against his once more and this time they were both overcome with passion. Bucky grabbed her hips and pressed her close to him, their bodies melting together as his fingers ran up her back before unfastening her bra, revealing her creamy skin beneath the moonlight that filtered through the window. She held her breath as his hands moved across her body, exploring every curve with delicate touches and sending sparks of pleasure through her veins. He left trails of fire over her neck as his lips traveled down before lightly brushing over one nipple, eliciting a soft gasp from Sarah's lips.
Just then, Sarah's phone started ringing, and the sound of it shattered the silence in the room like a gunshot. She wanted to ignore it, but she knew it was likely her sons calling to let her know they'd be ready to be picked up soon. With a reluctant groan, she pulled away from Bucky and grabbed her phone, which stopped ringing before she could answer it.
A quick glance confirmed it was indeed her kids, and a text message from her kid's friend's mom indicated that they were done trick-or-treating and ready to be picked up. "I don't wanna go," Sarah said with a sigh.
Bucky wrapped his strong arms around her, giving her a sad smile and planting a kiss on her forehead. His breath tickled her skin as he whispered gently, "Me neither," in response to her words, then attempted to lighten the mood with a joke about their unusual entourage. They both laughed, and Sarah could feel the tension melting like ice in the sun.
Bucky pulled her close and nuzzled against her neck, sending tingles of pleasure down her spine before she reluctantly leaned back from his embrace. She looked into his eyes and saw something that made her heart skip a beat – it was longing, familiar and yet fresh and new at the same time. Locked in each other's gaze, Sarah raised herself to capture Bucky's lips in a soft kiss.
She smiled as she pulled away from him and started gathering her clothes off the floor, nerves suddenly bubbling up inside of her when Sarah realized how bold she had been. Before she could put on her shirt, however, Bucky stood up and stopped her with a gentle hand on her arm. He cupped her face tenderly between his hands and searched for something in her eyes.
"We'll have to finish this later," he murmured softly. Another shiver coursed through Sarah's body as she looked into his beautiful blue eyes, nodding in agreement to his suggestion before leaning forward to give him one last kiss goodbye.

Nighttime Stroll
Rating: For Everyone
Pairing: Sarah X Bucky
Author's Note: It's just fluffy.
Summary: Bucky and Sarah take a late night stroll through the French Quarter.
July 22- 28: Night Out on Town
“You know I’ve always wanted to do this.” Sarah said as she walked hand in hand with Bucky down the middle of the street on a humid New Orlean’s night.
“What? Walk the French Quarter?” Bucky guessed, they had spent nearly the whole evening in the area, visiting the museums, the shops, having dinner, then hitting the bars for drinks. Bucky couldn’t get drunk, but he still enjoyed the taste. Sarah, he discovered could hold her drink very well.
“Walking the French Quarter at night….late at night, when most things are closed and some of the tourists are gone.” She clarified. “Usually it’s too dangerous to be out like this, but you make me feel safe.” She squeezed his arm, leaning into him.
He took the moment to kiss her temple. “Thanks, babydoll.”
They walked around in comfortable silence avoiding the remaining promoters who pushed customers into their neon lit bars. There were still some people inside, drinking, laughing while jazz mingled with pop music. All the shops were closed, very few restaurants remained open, trash littered the floor and there were barriers where construction was underway.
Bucky glanced over at a house now converted into a bar. “I get that these businesses bring money, but it’s a shame that a lot of nice houses aren’t just…you know, homes.”
“French Quarter has always been an expensive place to live and after Katrina and gentrification it just got more expensive.” She lamented as she looked around them. “When I was little, I would dream about being a grand lady living in one of those fancy houses. Once when we were staying in one of these hotels with the lovely balconies and I sat out there and waved like a queen to the people below.” She elegantly lifted her arm to demonstrate.
He grinned. “Is it a coincidence that your room at home has access to the balcony?”
She gave him a sly look. “What can I say? I’m a romantic at heart.”
“You want me to climb up to it one day and knock on your window with a bunch of roses?”
“Oh, Bucky don’t tease.” She said even as she blushed at the very idea.
“I’m not teasing,” he assured her, “I would do it in a heartbeat.”
“You’re such a romantic.”
“Nothing wrong with romance.” Suddenly he picked her up, spun her around and waltzed with her in the middle of the street.
She gasped, then laughed, allowing him to take the lead. “You can waltz??”
“A little, so can you.” He said as they danced around.
“I remembered a little from my cotillion days.”
“Cotillion?”
“A party where all the girls wore pretty white dresses and danced with boys in tuxes in front of our community. It was supposed to celebrate our womanhood. Frankly we were just all excited to look fancy and meet some cute boys.”
“Did you meet a cute boy?” He asked.
“Mm-hm, my husband.” She revealed. “He planned it too, that devil. He was supposed to dance with Lisa, but he asked to be switched so he could dance with me.”
He laughed. “Smart guy. He’s a man of good taste.”
“Wasn’t he though?” She agreed. “I will always remember the first song we danced to.”
“Yeah?” He sighed. “Would be nice if we had some appropriate music for us.”
Suddenly a guitar player who had been closing up for the night spotted them and began to play.
“Huh, how about that.” He smiled, nodding at the gentleman who nodded back.
“Don’t you know French Quarter is full of magic?” Sarah grinned as they slowly danced around.
“Well consider me a believer.” He replied before giving her a kiss.
They danced until the music ended, then Bucky gave him a large tip in thanks. The guitar player was collecting his earnings and was putting his instrument back in its case when someone walked past him. The player gasped.
“Hey! Give it back!” He hollered, touching his back pocket before running after the thief who quickly sprinted.
“Stay here.” Bucky told Sarah before taking off after them both, moving with a quickness that was startling.
The guitar player stopped at a corner, shocked. “Wha- How does he run like that??”
Sarah smiled innocently. “He’s…gifted.”
“No shit!”
There was the faint sound of a scuffle that ended with something, or someone, getting shoved violently into a trash receptacle. A few minutes later Bucky jogged back with only a light sheen of sweat on his face. “Here you go. Sorry about that.”
“Nah man, it’s cool. Thanks!” He replied amazed, taking his wallet. Once Bucky turned back to Sarah, the man silently mouthed out, “Is he an Avenger??”
Sarah would’ve loved to be honest but subtly shook her head. “Done playing hero?” she said before they resumed their walk.
“Hey he played for us. It’s the least I could do.” Bucky shrugged. It seemed like no one else noticed what happened. The lampposts gave out their ember glow, the bars still had their neon lights and music still played on.
“You’re very sweet you know that?” she teased, giving him a small kiss on the cheek, then she winced a little. “I loved this night walk, but I think I’m done for the night. My dogs are barking.”
“Here,” He picked her up, carrying her bridal style as he walked with greater purpose back to their temporary abode.
Sarah held onto him. “I didn’t imply that you carry me the rest of the way, you know.”
“I know, but I rather like it.”
She wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned over. “My hero.”
Bucky said nothing just smiled and walked them home, leaving the magic of the French Quarter behind.

7th Inning Stretch by @tllgrrl aka Nefertiri Jones
Sarah Wilson/James “Bucky” Barnes | 5K Words | Ch 1: SFW Fade to Black. Ch 2: NSFW Spicy.
Summary: Sarah and Bucky enjoy their day off, beating the heat at home on the sofa, watching the ballgame.
Summer + Baseball + Waltzing + Ice(?) = Shenanigans!
* * * * * * * * *
Chapter 1 - Take Me Out
Where: Southern Louisiana.
When: Summertime. Baseball Season.
Late afternoon at the Wilson-Barnes home. It’s not just hot and humid. It’s steamy, and rain is in the forecast. It hasn’t started yet, but it’s on its way.
Sam’s visiting for a few days, and to keep two bored tween boys from going stir crazy he offered to take his nephews to the movies, pizza, and then for a mini-shopping spree at Crescent City Comics in NOLA, so Sarah and Bucky, both in lightweight cotton shorts and tank tops, are lazing on the sofa, enjoying a quiet day off…and air conditioning.
Like in many older buildings and houses in Southern Louisiana, opening windows and/or doors and letting the air flow through was “air conditioning” in the generations-old Wilson house.
To make it more effective, some window units were installed in the living room and the bedrooms, including Bucky’s bedroom/office in the attic.
Having Stark Industries and WakandaTech available did have its perks. Low profile, high-efficiency and environmentally friendly A/C was one of them.
But sometimes, open windows and good screens were fine. Especially after sundown.
Bucky got the small ice chest out of the garage, filled it with ice, a couple of bottles of beer and 2 bottles of water. Sarah laid out some snacks, including a few of Bucky’s favorite granola bars, on the coffee table.
He’s watching the L.A. Dodgers (the “Brooklyn” Dodgers, as he sometimes calls them) play the New York Mets while he rubs her feet with his warm right hand.
She’s enjoying the hell out of the pampering, while reading the novelization of the Bridgerton spinoff, Queen Charlotte.
He knows about the popular TV series and enjoys the way she tries to keep a cool demeanor at what she and her friends call “the juicy parts” of the book.
He can hear her when she says under her breath, “Well, alright now…” or “Mmm-hmm…”
And he took particular note when she covered her mouth, whispered “Giiiiirl?! Yesss…” and her toes curled in his hand.
He planned to try and get her to read whatever that part was aloud to him later.
“It’s almost time,” he informs her, releasing her foot and rubbing his left hand, still cool from holding a cold beer, on her legs.
“Mmmm…that’s nice.” she sighs as she lightly kneads his thigh with her heels. “Time for what?”
“7th Inning Stretch…”
“…You know the song, right? Take me me out—“
“To the ball game? Everybody knows that song.”
“Yeah, the chorus part of it. Did you know there are verses?”
She laid the book down on the coffee table next to the bowl of roasted peanuts, snagged a little cube of ice and rubbed it on her wrists, her neck and her collarbone.
His eyes caught a drop of water from the ice making its way from the hollow at the base of her throat, down her chest, rolling into her cleavage.
For a second he considered going in after it. With his mouth and tongue. Instead, he gave her another piece of ice and popped one into his own mouth, crunched it, then taking her hand slowly kissed up her arm, from the pulse point of her wrist, watching her eyes slightly widen as she grins.
"Is that right..." she murmured, getting a little lost because it felt like every time his cold mouth landed on her warm skin, all of her attention, her focus, was drawn to that spot on her body.
And he saw her thighs press together just a little when he reached the inside of her elbow, kissed it and then rubbed his bearded cheek on it, making her hiss and pull away but just a little because the cold followed by the warmth made her want more.
“Verses? That song has verses? Lay it on me, Sinatra.”
“Okay, it goes something like,
Katie Casey was baseball mad,
had the fever and had it bad.
Just to root for the hometown crew,
Every sou—that’s a penny—Katie blew…”
“Really! That’s how it starts?”
“Yeah. Learned it from my Pa. There was another version later about a girl named Nellie Kelly.”
“Anyway," she ruffled his hair, and lightly raking her nails on his scalp, she watched his eyelids start to flutter. "I’ve never heard the intro before. My baseball knowledge isn’t very deep. Daddy’d sometimes watch depending on who was playing, and you know about Sam and his football. I’m into whatever the boys are into, but I don’t know a lot about baseball.”
“My Ma loved baseball. Prob’ly more’n Pa. She’d listen to games on the radio doin' housework, or makin’ dinner, and during the 7th Inning Stretch she’d grab me and Becca, turn the radio up, and we’d all three of us dance around in the living room. God, in the summertime it’d be so hot, but we didn’t care.
Sometimes if I had a little bit o’ money left from a job, when the ice wagon came around I’d run downstairs and get us snow cones.
Man, when that ice hit your mouth…it was like heaven. I’ll never forget…”
Sarah saw that soft smile and look of almost wonderment he sometimes gets when an old formerly-lost memory resurfaces.
‘Well, anyway,” he offered, rising from the couch, taking her hand and leading her to the middle of the room, “I’ll be more than happy to be your private baseball tutor.”
“Private tutor, huh?”
“Mmm-hmmm. May I?”
She nodded, he placed her right hand on his shoulder, took her left hand, and pulled her nearer.
“When you’re watching the boys’ team play, you want to be the parent who knows exactly what they’re yelling at the ump for.”
“Well, I thank you in advance, Professor Barnes.
So when do my lessons start?”
“Now. Do you waltz?”
“Waltz? A little. Not much occasion to, but I can waltz with a good partner.”
“You’re in good hands. Trust me. Okay…”
He raised the volume on the TV, tossed the remote onto the couch, and they began to dance as the announcer sings:
🎶Take me out to the ballgame,
Take me out to the crowd…🎶
“Say! Not bad, young whippersnapper!”
“Thank you!”
🎶Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack…🎶
“Who taught you?”
“Daddy. And mama taught Sam.”
“Sam? Your brother Sam? Sam Wilson can waltz?”
🎶Root, root, root for the home team,
If they don’t win it’s a shame…🎶
“Oh, yeah! Social Dancing was definitely part of our Home Training. But not Soul Train dancing. You learned popular dances from friends, and from the TV.
I mean Fox Trot, Swing, and Waltz. Like your Mama taught you, our Mama and Daddy taught us…just like you’re gonna teach Cass and AJ.”
“You want me to teach them.“
“Mmm-hmm. They're already learning baseball fundamentals from you. You can show them basic partner dancing steps, and they can practice leading with me.”
“I thought you wanted them to like me!”
“It’ll be fun! I promise.”
“Mind if I hold you to that?”
The song continues and the crowd on the TV sang as Sarah and Bucky find themselves slow dancing.
Whenever they dance past the AC unit, they linger, feeling the cool air as it hits the light veil of sweat that has settled on their skin.
It’s Southern Louisiana. In the Summer, it’s always there.
She grew up with it.
He’s gotten used to it and actually loves it because he’d had enough freezing in his life to never want to be cold again unless necessary.
She places her hand on the back of his neck and feels him inhale, rub his cheek on her temple, then he lightly kisses her there.
The back of his left hand slides down her shoulder, then his fingers slowly run from just behind her ear, down the side of her throat.
The sensors in that hand know her skin intimately now.
He remembers the first time she took his hand, the first time he touched her arm, her cheek, her bottom lip. Her...
He lightly kisses the side of her neck, her ear, while softly humming the song, pulling giggles from her.
Her hands roam up and down his back, gently kneading the muscles there, pulling another deep inhale and sigh from him.
🎶Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack…🎶
His mouth travels to her cheek, then to her mouth.
🎶I don’t care if I ever come back.🎶
They get lost in the kiss, and when they finally do come back…
“Well, now. Tell me, Professor Barnes, do they still call a kiss like that getting to First Base?”
“I believe they do, Ms. Wilson.”
“I wonder if you can make it to Home Plate.”
“Not if I can, sweetness, but how many times.”
“Oh, really now,” she huffs, pulling away before he can go in for another scorching kiss, and heading toward the stairs.
He watches her ascend and when she looks back at him over her shoulder, she sees that “got an idea” look he gets when he gets the kind of “ideas” that get her pulled into a hideaway someplace at least semi-private for some good old-fashioned grownup shenanigans.
“The truck windows are still down,” he grins. “I’ll be right up.“
As if on cue, the wind kicks up a bit, and then there’s the sound of rain beginning to fall.
{*ping*}
They both glance over at his phone on the end table, then at each other, and she starts to prepare herself for the words that’ll mean he has to get dressed, grab that ever-ready Backpack and board a QuinJet that’s miraculously showed up in the front yard.
(Dammit. Here it comes: “HQ called—blah blah blah. The boys and I are headed back home. Wheels up in 2 hours—blah blah blah. Sorry Buck.”)
Bucky picks the phone up, reads the message, and breathes a sigh of relief.
“It’s from Sam. He says, raining cats and dogs up here...storm’s headed your way...boys are knocked out and so am I...crashing at safe house...see you guys in the morning. Don’t get distracted and forget to roll up windows on that old truck, White Panther? Distracted?!” Bucky says to his phone. “I don’t get distracted, Samuel!”
For a few seconds, Sarah watches with amusement as he fusses at the phone, then she turns and continues up the stairs.
“Don’t take too long rolling up those windows, Lover,” she teases. “It’s the top of the 7th.
Batter up.”

Bucky Barnes reached across the table to squeeze Sarah's hand gently. "I love spending time with you, rain or shine.
Title: Delicious | Bucky Barnes x Sarah Wilson | Fandom: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier | Rating: Mature | Words: Part 1/1 (706 Words) | Prompt: SarahBucky @fleurdelouvemonth and @fleurdelouve - Week 1, Day 3 and 4 Prompt: “Pumpkin” and "Chai Tea" | Synopsis: Bucky Barnes and Sarah Wilson go on a coffee date on a rainy day.
Tumblr media
Rain poured down as Bucky and Sarah dashed through the busy streets, looking for cover. The dark clouds had rolled in swiftly, catching them off guard during their afternoon walk through the city. They squeezed under a cafe awning, both breathless and soaked to the bone.
"Sorry, our walk got rained out," Bucky said, pushing his dripping hair back from his forehead.
Sarah wiped rivulets of water from her face and hair. "Are you kidding? This is fun!" she said with a laugh. Her eyes sparkled with excitement despite the dreary downpour.
Bucky had to smile at her optimism. That was one of the things he loved about her - she could find joy in any situation. "If you say so. Why don't I grab us something hot to drink to warm up? There's a cafe right here."
Sarah nodded, glad that the quaint cafe was right behind them. At least they could get out of the rain and sit for a while until it passed.
The cafe was warm, cozy, and inviting. There were several small tables with chairs along the windows, as well as a few sitting nooks tucked into alcoves and some plush couches near the back. Since it was a weekday afternoon, there were few people there, so Bucky and Sarah had their pick of places to sit.
They opted for one of the private nooks towards the back, figuring it would help them warm up faster away from any drafts. Sliding into the worn leather booth, Sarah peeled off her soaked jacket while Bucky ordered their drinks.
He soon returned with two steaming mugs - a chai tea latte for himself and a pumpkin spice latte for Sarah, her favorite. He also brought a freshly baked cinnamon pastry for them to share.
Settling across each other, they held the warm mugs to their faces, letting the heat seep into their chilled skin.
"Mmm, this is perfect," Sarah said after a long sip of her latte. "Just what I needed."
"I'm glad you like it," Bucky replied. "Nothing better than warming up with something hot to drink on a cold rainy day."
Sarah smiled at him over her mug. "And even better when you have good company to share it with."
Bucky reached across the table to squeeze her hand gently. "I love spending time with you, rain or shine."
Sarah rubbed her thumb over his knuckles. "Me too, Bucky. I'm so happy we're together."
They continued chatting and enjoying their treats, simply content to be in each other's presence. The sound of the rain pattering on the window and the faint music playing in the cafe made it feel extra cozy.
When Sarah took another sip of her pumpkin spice latte, Bucky watched her closely. "I've never actually tried one of those before," he mused.
"No? Here, have a taste," Sarah said, handing her mug over.
Bucky took it and brought it to his lips. But before he drank, he set the mug down and reached for Sarah's hand again. His eyes locked onto hers intensely.
Sarah gave him a questioning look. "What is it?"
"There's something I want to taste more," Bucky murmured. He gently tilted her chin up as he leaned in.
Sarah's eyes fluttered shut as Bucky's lips met hers in a soft, lingering kiss. She could taste the sweetness of the pumpkin spice latte as their kiss deepened. When they finally broke apart, her lips felt tingly and plump.
Bucky gently brushed his thumb over her bottom lip. "Delicious," he whispered huskily.
Sarah blushed at the desire in his eyes. No matter how many times they kissed, it always felt new and exciting. She picked up her mug again and took a sip, watching Bucky over the rim, a twinkle in her eyes.
"You're right, that is good," Bucky chuckled.
He squeezed her hand once more, interlacing their fingers. The rain continued falling steadily outside. But inside, wrapped up in their own little world, Bucky and Sarah had never felt warmer.
