#Sans slipped into Pap's attack oops

Ch2 p3

In the next section, Papyrus is waiting by some ice. "hey, here's something to remember. my brother has a very special attack. if you see a golden attack, dont move and it wont hurt you. here's an easy way to keep it in mind. imagine a stop sign. when you see one of those, you stop, right? stop signs are red. so imagine a golden stop sign instead. simple, right? when fighting, think about golden stop signs."

I stare at him angrily and shout "THAT COULD'VE BEEN USEFUL TWENTY SECONDS AGO!"

"nyeh, sorry kid. i couldnt get to ya then. you were fighting doggo, and i dont go near him."

I storm off and slip on the ice. On the other side, a bipedal dog is standing there. My SOUL shoots out of my chest, and my hand slides right onto his head. The ACT button lights up, and Pet is automatically selected. Lesser Dog's neck extends slightly. Lesser Dog is his name, by the way. A little white dog runs and jumps at me, but I dodge it.

I throw the stick and we play fetch for a while. His next extends some more.

Two spears, one golden and the other white, fly at me. I get hit. Now at 12 HP

"*I suggest you spare him now, if you don't want his head to be a thousand miles long."

I ignore Asriel and pet Lesser Dog a hundred more times.

…

A hundred pets and four lost HP later, I get 7 gold.

I go north and find a snowman wanting to see the world. I offer to take a piece of him with me on my travels, and he agrees enthusiastically. I take a piece and leave, then head east to find Sans and Papyrus waiting for me on the other side of a grid.

"PAP, WHEN DID YOU CHANGE YOUR SHIRT? I REMEMBER YOU WEARING A BLACK ONE JUST A FEW MINUTES AGO."

"nah, bro. i was always wearing this white one."

"OH, OKAY."

Sans turns and notices me. "OH, THERE YOU ARE! I WAS WONDER WHEN YOU'D SHOW UP. IN ORDER TO STOP YOU, MY BROTHER AND I HAVE CREATED PUZZLES! I THINK YOU'LL FIND THIS ONE… QUITE BLOCKERSOME." He looks at Papyrus and then back at me and admits, "OKAY, THAT PUN SOUNDED BETTER IN MY HEAD. ANYWAY, THIS IS THE INVISIBLE BLOCK MAZE! IN ORDER TO ACTUALLY TOUCH BLOCKS, HOWEVER, YOU NEED THIS ORB!" He looks down at his empty hand and says, "PAPYRUS, WHERE'S THE ORB?"

"oh, its been destroyed for about a week now, remember?"

"OH, RIGHT… WAIT WHAT!? OH, CURSES! FINE. PULL THE LEVER, PAPYRUS!"

Papyrus turns to two levers and pulls one. A trapdoor under Sans opens and he falls. As he does, he shouts, "WRONG LEVEEEEEEEEEEER!"

"oops," Papyrus says offhandedly.

After a moment, Sans shouts from the bottom of the pit, "WHY DO WE EVEN HAVE THAT LEVER?"

Papyrus leans over the hole and says, "beats me."

He then pulls the other lever, and the maze becomes visible. There's only one path, and it's really easy.

"go on, complete the maze. ill be right here helping my bro."

I nod and walk through the maze quickly. Papyrus looks up at me then back down the hole and shouts, "the human completed the puzzle in only three seconds."

Sans cries and gets teleported back up. The trapdoor closes and he runs off shouting something about the next puzzle being made by Papyrus. Papyrus and I look at each other and shrug. He says, "sorry about your helmet, by the way. sans was just really mad at my puns. he usually thinks i tell them at the wrong times, but 'if not now, when', am i right? anyway, see ya later, kid."

I nod and go to the next section.

The SkeleDiamonds, unleashing their auras on their Sea Glass for the first time...

Sans (Undertale): Blue Diamond thoughtlessly quells a noisy argument interrupting the quiet of his court and feels a tiny little weight go ‘whump’ on his shoulder. Oops...? He smiles as he plucks the boneless little Sea Glass up into his hand, though, just in case, and thinks they look much comfier all chilled out there anyway.

Papyrus (Undertale): Orange Diamond notices his Sea Glass seems frustrated lately, struggling with a creative block. Well...what kind of Diamond would he be if he could help and then didn’t? He gives them a little pep talk, with just a tiny extra nudge behind it, and the fire in their eyes as they power through that block leaves him smiling all day.

Sky (Underswap Sans): Oh no... oh no, Yellow Diamond hates��it, he doesn’t even want to look at them like this, all...brainlessly happy, it’s weird... But he can’t bring himself to leave either, feeling responsible for their state. He just...sits them somewhere he doesn’t have to look at their vacant expression and tries to catch up on paperwork. They’re in for a very sincere apology whenever they come back around and he’ll start to feel better once he can win a real smile out of them.

Paps (Underswap Papyrus): Green Diamond thinks his Sea Glass is trying too hard to impress him. He doesn’t need constant entertainment-- he’d have a Spinel for that, if he did--and his gentle admonishments to take a break don’t seem to be having the desired effect. Hardball it is: he shanghais them while he goes in for a power-nap, making their presence not-entirely-optional for it. If he just so happens to let his aura out before he falls asleep, well... They look pretty refreshed by the time he comes back around, and that’s a win in his book.

Jasper (Underfell Sans): It’s a slip when Red Diamond loses control of his aura outside of battle, pissed off about a snippy little Pyrope he just barely kept from poofing to teach a lesson. But then, he feels a fierce wriggling in the hood of his cloak and when he investigates...snrk... He’s not angry anymore-- it’s literally impossible for him to be mad, holding a thrashing little Sea Glass, chomping at the bit to attack the garnet that had annoyed their Diamond. It’s probably the cutest thing he’s ever seen and he dismisses the rest of his court so there are no witnesses to how fondly he coos over how adorable they are.

Pyre (Underfell Papyrus): Black Diamond feels sick when he realizes his precious Sea Glass got caught in the crosshairs of his aura. He almost feels as if his gem physically cracks when he goes to pick them up and they flinch, afraid of him. He has to tell himself that it’s only his power that’s frightening them, they’re not really scared, because the alternative is far too upsetting and painful. He can’t fully relax until it wears off and they gratefully hug and cuddle whatever part of him they can reach, proving it was just the aura and they know he’d never hurt them.

Mal (Swapfell Sans): Purple Diamond uses his aura to force a traitor to admit to an assassination attempt in the works. He forgets, in the moment, that his Sea Glass is with him, but when he remembers... there are a few questions whose real, honest answers he doesn’t know he can pass up. He starts small, asking if they’re happy, if they feel they’re treated well... And then if they like it here, with him...if they like him... if they would still be here if they could go anywhere, if they weren’t a Sea Glass owned by a Diamond... His nerve may fail before he can ask his final question, though, and how silly is that? A Diamond, too afraid to ask if his Sea Glass loves him... That’s pathetic, isn’t it?

Rus (Swapfell Papyrus): Violet Diamond is too busy making a retreat in his palanquin from a very large and very hostile organic creature on a colony-planet to realize he’d even instinctively tried to use his aura. He only realizes when his poor little Sea Glass staggers along his shoulder, grabbing at his cloak like they wanted to climb down but completely losing their grip and tumbling right off instead. He catches them--of course he does-- and frets over the disoriented gem very sweetly until they regain their senses and can sit upright without falling over. He...did not mean to do that, and he hopes they won’t hold a grudge!

Slate (Horrortale Sans): Gray Diamond works long hours. He takes plenty of breaks, too, but when he has duties to attend, he prefers to do it all in large, uninterrupted blocks of time. His memory isn’t the best these days and things can be a little fuzzy when he comes back to them later, if not gone completely from his skull. Easiest to just take care of them all in one go...except it can be hard on his Sea Glass to sit there and wait for him for hours, days, weeks on occasion. He sees their boredom and their fidgeting, and he should probably just dismiss them so they can entertain themselves...but he wants them to stay... The best compromise is to nudge them under for a nice long snooze, so they don’t have to be awake to be bored, and he can absently pet their soft, sleeping body in his lap while he works.

Papy (Horrortale Papyrus): Brown Diamond unleashes his aura to stop an accident before it can happen. The crisis is easily averted, plucking up a few gems and moving them elsewhere, out of the way, and when he turns around... oh. Oh no. His Sea Glass... They’re frozen in the most awkward and hilarious position, like the world’s most uncomfortable statue, pointedly not saying anything out of propriety to their Diamond. His aura dissipates instantly as he starts to laugh-- not at them, really! He’s... he’s laughing with them! Oh, don’t be mad at him, that was funny! His crooked smile is infectious enough that they’ll probably start laughing along in short order. ...It was pretty funny!

WIP My hand slipped. It was an accident. Gonna fix and ink tomorrow I need to sleep lol. Do ht monsters still turn to dust or do they turn into a weird smelly mushy substance.....
