#Sam didn't want Tara to date before? Now she's worse!!

Foster AU - could you think of any scenario where Sam would get really mad at Tara? Maybe for doing something dangerous behind her back when she's in her late teens or something... how would that go?

What would Tara do that would make Sam mad? Not a lot, to be honest. The only thing that really comes to mind is Tara getting drunk. But even then, what is the context behind the action. Why would Tara drink, and why to the extent that Sam gets mad?

Her first heartbreak?

Tara feels so strongly, she falls so quickly, for that first crush, first girlfriend. She feels the heartbreak of seeing her girlfriend of six months making out with someone else, so much. She's never had the chance to work through things like this when she was a teenager, the overwhelmingness of the emotion takes her by surprise, she couldn't prepare herself for how much it hurt.

She knows Sam and Kirby have a date night tonight, so doesn't want to bother them with it. She knows they would cancel it in a heartbeat if she needed them, but Tara doesn't want to do that to them. So she keeps what happened to herself and puts a mask on her face, telling them to have fun and ushering them out the door.

She plants herself in front of her laptop and searches and searches and searches for ways to make this pain go away. None of it helps. Time and Support don't resolve the problem right now. Someone else suggests drinking.

Tara's never had alcohol before, though she's not completely unfamiliar with it. There's a part of her that knows this is stupid, but everything hurts so much and she just needs it to stop. So she drinks and drinks. Eventually, it stops hurting and she just feels good instead.

Sam is furious when they gets home. Tara's never seen her so mad, and she's not even cognizant enough to be scared of her. Even Kirby is surprised, she's never seen this side of Sam before.

Sam snatches the bottle from Tara's hand and pours it down the sink. Then she starts throwing open cupboards, searching for every last bottle and can of alcohol they may have squirrelled away and emptying it down the drain, berating Tara for being so stupid the entire time, while Kirby focuses on getting some water into the drunk girl. As the buzz starts to fade and nausea sets in, Tara begins to cry, and in an instant, she's wrapped in two sets of arms.

"Sam, what was that about," Kirby whispers, attempting not to wake the dozing girl sleeping against Sam's chest.

Sam's jaw twitches as she attempts to find the right words, a hand rubbing up and down Tara's arm. "You know about my history... and our mother, and Tara's father... we- I should never have kept alcohol in the house in the first place."

Understanding sets in.

"I feel so stupid," Sam continues. "I thought it was safe, that it would be fine because I'm ok with it now, because she never showed any interest before."

"Oh, Sam." Kirby reaches out to place a hand on hers. "This isn't your fault. You couldn't have known this would happen. We don't know what triggered this, but we'll find out, and we'll be better prepared for the future."

"What if... what if something happened, what if someone hurt her?" Sam confesses, terrified at the thought. What else could drive her girl to do this?

"Don't torture yourself with those thoughts, Sam."

Summary: Being Billy Loomis' daughter and having the opportunity to continue your father's legacy with your girlfriend is enough to make you happy, until you realize that means your sister will probably hate you a/n: There's no logic at some point don't question it please TvT and don't get me wrong, I really like Sam, but I had to be mean to her in this ;-; Request is here :)) Warnings: blood, injuries, death, slight angst (?) (English isn't my first language, I'm sorry if there are mistakes or if something doesn't make sense TvT)

•°¯`•• 3 years before Ghostface appears again (2019) ••´¯°•

Tonight was a date night at your girlfriend's house. She wanted to watch Stab again. Not that you didn't like the movie, but you wouldn't mind watching something else for once.

There was something that upset you for a week or so, and this movie only made things worse. You knew Amber was a huge fan of the Stab movies, and you couldn't help but think it had an influence on your relationship.

"Baby? Everything's okay?"

You looked up at your girlfriend.

"Yeah I was just... thinking"

You gave her a reassuring smile. You weren't sure she was all convinced, but she didn't investigate more and went back to watching the movie, playing with your hair softly.

You didn't say anything for an hour, before let it out without any warning.

"You're not dating me just because I'm Billy's daughter right?"

She seemed surprised by your question. You sat up, now facing her.

"What? Of course not! Why would you think that?"

"I don't know... it's just... you're so pretty and fun and smart and amazing and everyone likes you and you could pull every fucking person on earth but you're dating me... I don't understand how someone like you can be interested in someone like me"

She seemed even more shocked than before.

"Baby..." she took your hands "I don't care who your father is, I didn't even know when we started dating. I fell in love with a beautiful girl, the most beautiful girl I've ever met. You're so kind, generous, talented, and you don't even see it. But I do. I love you for who you are, and you're an amazing person"

With that, she placed a gentle kiss on your lips. You were relieved.

This part of the plan was the one you hated the most, even though you didn't have to do much. Amber and Richie were taking care of everything, you just had to pretend you were with Amber all night long while she was attacking Tara. Your sister.

You loved Tara almost as much as you loved Amber. But you had to make Sam come back to Woodsboro in some way, and one of her sisters getting hurt was the best thing you came up with.

When Amber came back that night, the first thing you asked was if Tara was okay. Stupid question knowing your girlfriend stabbed her 6 times.

"She's alive, don't worry"

Killing her wasn't part of the plan, you made it very clear. You sighed in relief.

"And you? Are hurt?" you asked

"I'm fine, just got kicked in the head, nothing bad"

She smiled at you and wrapped her arms around your waist, pulling you closer to her.

"Everything's going to be okay baby, soon we'll leave Woodsboro and start a new life together..."

She kissed you lazily, her eyes fluttering shut as she fell asleep.

"Welcome to act 3"

This sentence marked the begging of the last part of your plan. After Amber shot Liv, you faked running away like the others, only to lock yourself in a broom closet and put on a Ghostface costume.

You had to bring Gale inside of the house while Amber and Richie took care of Sam and Sidney.

"Oh so there's two of you. Again."

You turn on your voice changer.

"Three actually. We had to bring something new to the franchise. This time you're not surviving the massacre Gale, the fans don't like heroes that always make it."

You grabbed her arm and pulled her up.

"Let's go. You wouldn't want to miss the big finale would you?"

"You know, that's usually when they take off their mask and show who they are while explaining their plan"

"Guess I'm different then"

You pushed her toward the house. Everyone should be in the kitchen by now.

As you entered the hall, you made eye contact with your girlfriend, giving her the signal.

"Speaking of surprises... We have one for you" she smirked at Sidney and Sam

You pushed Gale inside the room for Richie to grab her arm, before stepping in too, turning your voice changer off.

"There's three of you...? But Y/n and Tara are going to call the police and send you all to jail you sick fucks! If you think they're going let you get away with that you've gone mad! " Sam spat

"We all go a little mad sometimes" you said, taking the mask off, revealing yourself

The expression on your sister's face almost made you pity her. Almost.

"How did I do?" you asked your girlfriend, a smile on your face

"Nailed it baby"

She walked up to you and kissed you tenderly.

"Y/n...?"

You turned around to face your older sister.

"You didn't think you could disappear for 5 whole years and come back as if nothing happened, did you?"

"I already told you I left because-"

"Because you're Billy Loomis' daughter and you wanted to protect us. I remember that. But guess what? I'm his daughter too! You didn't go that far in mom's diaries huh?"

"You've become exactly what I wanted to protect you from..."

"Sam Sam Sam... This has nothing to do with our dad. All of this is because of you. Because you left us alone with mom. She spent her time drinking to the point she passed out on the couch - when she was at home, which didn't happen that often. You left us alone. Do you have any idea how broken Tara was after you left? How broken I was? You were our model!"

You started to tear up. You had that on your heart for so many years, it felt good to let go.

Your girlfriend rubbed your arm, a worried expression on her face.

"You okay baby...?"

"Yeah, I'm... fine"

Richie and Amber explained their motive to the girls, before he sent her find Tara.

"She's not here!"

"What do you mean she's not here? She's can't have gone far!"

"I can't find her!"

Suddenly, you heard her scream. You got up immediately.

"You handle handle them?"

He gave you a "who do you think I am?" look. You didn't waste more time and ran to where you thought Amber was.

You found her on the floor, Tara on top of her, hitting her with her crutch. You grabbed her by the waist and pinned her to the floor, gently.

"Y/n...? You-"

Her eyes widen at the sight of the black robe you were wearing. She started to struggle against you.

"Tara- stop- please-"

You tried to keep her still. But to do so, you had you push on her abdomen. She hissed in pain. You didn't like hurting her. You felt really bad, and she should've see it in your eyes, because she stopped moving.

Amber went back into the kitchen, and you could hear her scream again. You gave a hesitant look to your sister, not sure she wouldn't move if you let go of her.

"Please don't do anything stupid... I don't want you to get hurt..."

You got up quickly and ran to the kitchen, where Gale and Sidney were fighting Amber. You stabbed Gale before she could see you and pushed her away from Amber. Her head hit the counter, and she fell on the floor.

You didn't have time to check if she was dead or not, due to your head being hit by a pan, hard. You fell on the floor and passed out almost immediately.

When you woke up, you found yourself in the back sit of Amber's car. You were alive, with a big headache, and next to you...

"Tara...?"

Her eyes were red. She cried.

"Baby? How do you feel?"

You turned to Amber, driving.

"Yeah... and you?"

"Couldn't be better! We made it baby!"

She had a wild smile on her face.

"And you...?" you asked your sister

"I lost a sister... and my friends..." she had tears in her eyes

You took her hand in yours.

"I'm... sorry... you think you can forgive me...?"

"... You're all I have left... and I love you... but... that might be hard..."

You were praying she would forgive you one day, and were decided do to all you could to make sure she would be happy in your new life.

TATUM RILEY AND ANIKA KAYOKO ARE SUPER UNDERRATED AND UNDERAPPRECIATED!! Excuse me while I go on another little rant but something that's always bothered me in the "Scream" franchise is how Tatum was Sidney's best and only real friend. 2/4 of her friends actually wanted to kill her and Randy didn't seem to be all that close to her until the second movie after they'd gone to hell and back together. Tatum was a real one. She was by Sidney's side through thick and thin and really, truly had her back. She was so protective of her. So for Sidney to just forget about so easily after the first movie is crazy. Especially because she was Dewey's sister and neither of them mourned or mentioned her. It would've been nice to just get a scene where she maybe had a picture of her and Tatum together and she has a little moment looking at it or just her being sad and missing her. Just one little moment to truly mourn and reminisce her would've been nice. Instead all we get is Gale mentioning she was one of the victims from the first killings as Dewey just kind of looks away and Steven mentioning her death to who he thought was Dewey but really it was just Roman. We did get to see that Dewey had her ashes which was nice but she deserved better, to be honest.

Anika was basically the Tatum of "Scream VI." We're introduced to her by her literally saving Tara from someone who was going to take advantage of her. Mindy, who's known Tara longer, didn't even get up from the couch...some friend. When they get attacked by Ghostface in the apartment and when Mindy gets her arm slashed Anika, the second tiniest of them all, has the guts to start throwing hands for her girlfriend...to save her fucking girlfriend she goes up against a killer who she clearly doesn't stand a chance against resulting in her getting gutted! What does Mindy do with that tiny little slash in her arm compared to the gapping gash in Anika's stomach? She sits and watches like the shitty girlfriend she is (I'm sorry to the Mindy fans, I don't hate her but she really pissed me off in this scene.) She then listens to Anika when she tells her to go across the ladder first. If I truly loved someone, I'm not leaving them. She's either going across that ladder first or I'm staying to fight for them. We're either living or dying together. Shitty girlfriend behavior if you ask me. After she dies it's very much so like Tatum but worse. Tatum dies near the end of the movie and Sidney doesn't find her body until a little while later when she running from Ghostface. She doesn't have time to be sad or mourn her. Anika dies halfway through the movie and they have SO much time to be sad and show how her death affected them. Mindy was over it by the time they got to the theater. Tara, who Anika clearly cared for enough to save her at the party, seemed more concerned about Quinn and her father who turned out to be murderers and Chad was more concerned about Mindy which is fair since she didn't really seem to be friends with Chad. The only one who seemed to care at all about her death was Sam which is shocking. On top of all that, she’s the only important person (excluding the killers) that died in the sixth movie. She died so The Core Four could live. 😞 Which isn’t fair…at least one of them should have died. She. Deserved. Better.

However, besides being the bestest friends anyone could have in this franchise, Tatum and Anika have the most iconic death scenes in the whole franchise so at least they got that.

I'm not a huge fan of her but another character I actually want to mention who got disrespected was Liv Mckenzie. Liv was obviously friends with Tara before Liv and Chad started dating so for Tara and Chad to start dating when their friend/girlfriend died under a year ago and don't even seem to be affected over it in the slightest is honestly so crazy. Chad claimed to have loved her and now he doesn't even care she's dead? No mention? Just move on and date her friend? I get Tara and Chad have known each other longer but that's still fucking crazy to me and even thought I wasn't crazy about this character, she still deserved better.

I don't see any reason to disagree, sounds cool.

Damn, why did I think of that... It's horrifying to realize that scream 6 is revealing Richie to the audience, as if that makes sense. Again some creepy man who groomed a girl has a crazy family out to avenge him. So much attention (as if we didn't get enough of that in scream 2). And what about Amber? Her parents don't care? They didn't take a chance on the original script and didn't risk revealing Amber's identity and motive and Tara's trauma to the fullest extent. Although I feel like the movie wouldn't have been worse if they had made the little sister the center of the movie again. It's like the filmmakers are repeating her fate (she was abandoned by her sister, then her girlfriend, and now this). Sam could have quite successfully unfolded alongside her with her father-daughter dilemma.

Back to the "their motive is so stupid", mmm I'm tired of hearing that from others. Yes, it's simple, but that doesn't make it worse. I don't find it silly, but rather very realistic, even a little sad. Richie is a narcissist who took advantage of a girl for his ambitions, and Amber is such a teenager very susceptible to a lot of things, and considering her sociopathy and constant inhibition of her inner self in society… Like I said, the movie is a coincidence.

Oh yeah, I like to imagine what would happen if Tara was Ghostface. Given the motives of the killers from the previous installments, that would be perfect. I'd love to see exactly this type of betrayal as Sam hesitates and finally learns the truth. How Sidney feels a connection to this girl more than she would like. Being attacked by a guy you've only been dating for 6 months? That reminds me of something… (then fans complain about how easy it was to guess who was under the mask hmm) How about the betrayal of a family member, which basically unites Scream 3 and 4? (and it would also be really cool cuz we finally find out that Sidney's husband is that Detective Mark)

I'd watch Tara deal with her mother, cuz that would be insane.

Maybe before tying up Tara, Amber was trying to convince her friend to play along with her plan? Maybe Amber really wanted Tara to survive, since there had been so many "attacks".

Someday I'll accept the fact that Chad and Tara had something, but… not today.

I think Sam couldn't completely help her sister through this trauma anyway. Yes, their soulmates betrayed them, but these are completely different situations. Amber was with Tara when her mother got drunk every night and Sam ignored and disappeared from sight. Probably thanks to Amber, Tara would be able to come to terms gradually or accept the fact that, yes, Amber killed her friends and probably Tara's hands are also stained with blood. Because they stayed together. Amber knew which buttons to press so Tara could breathe more freely, but Sam couldn't. Or she would have needed more time. Tears would choke her if her sister was in sight, because that would always be a shitty reminder that they were survivors. A reminder that the Woodsboro massacre changed everything.

I think she started having hallucinations around the time she found out the truth abt her dad, but didn't actually start seeing Billy until the middle of high school. sophomore-junior year. like, it grew over time. and she wasn't able to get the help she needed until after she moved away.

in general, she has a very tough time opening up to new people. she was friends with Richie for a year-ish before they began dating.

she is very prone to self sabotage. and practically isolated herself- even before she moved.

she doesn't like taking her meds but they do help control some of her delusions.

she gets a lot of graphic intrusive thoughts and has had to learn how to cope with them w/out drug abuse and panic attacks.

she likes cuddling up with a stuffy from her childhood and curling up on the couch. she doesn't like having a lot of blankies and such because it makes her feel trapped.

solely because I don't want Sam to come across anymore hurt- she never told Richie abt her regression, so he never acted as a CG for her. a few years after the films events she's in a loving + healthy relationship with someone who knows about her psychosis and regression and still loves her anyways and does what they can to get her through all this hell <33

she loves cuddling with her CG and when they read bed time stories to her. she likes ones with happy endings and friendly creatures.

She goes nonverbal when she's super stressed.

okay. gale and dewey are still together between 4 + 5, and thus still married during the films events. mostly because I genuinely adore them together but ALSO-- double the angst when dewey ends up dying lol

Martha Meeks is a single mother. She adopted her two kids when they were babies, with her at the time partner. I haven't decided on why her partner is out of the picture, just that they are. Also, I don't think she married a cishet man . . .or a man at all . . .

I do believe the other parent was not present fairly early on in the youngins lives

Martha would tell stories of her older brother to her children when they were growing up !!

mostly in part that she knows Randy would have done the same- tell ridiculous stories of himself to them, that is. but also as a way to keep his memory alive. it's really hard for her to talk about him sometimes, but part of her healing process is being able to cherish the time he was with her and move on with her life.

Speaking of her brother, she really isn't a fan of horror. But growing up in a town like Woodsboro you kind of need to know a thing or two about surviving one.

When the children were young- not too young, just about early middle maybe elementary school- she started this weekly or monthly movie night. It was never explicitly said that these movie watchings were to prepare for a life in her hometown, but it became more apparent to her kids over time. (like not to add extra trauma to these kids but like. im gonna add extra trauma to these kids)

she would start off with things she remembered watching with her brother. which wasn't Randy's usual stuff, btw. It wasn't all slasher stuff and hot girls. Randy did have some self awareness haha

Mindy absolutely grew up idolizing her uncle !! she's a little upset she'll never meet him. but she feels like she knew him so well just with how many stories she's heard about him.

she of course loves horror films. i mean any films, really. she's drawn towards more modern stuff. less of the splatterfests and more psychological. but really she's always up for any sort of scare :)

Chad has never liked horror!! :( He doesn't enjoy being scared. He'll only watch it with his mom and sister or people he REALLY trusts / feels safe around. he appreciates the sillier more humorous horror!! more absurd, more cheap, the better.
