★ I am starting with Salman mid-next year because when I make a film, I become selfish. Today, at this stage of my life as a director, I have become selfish. I write the film myself and when I write myself, then I take my own time. With Salman especially, since we are doing something together after a long time, it has to be something special, especially after all these years. So yeah, I will start next year mid.-Sooraj Barjatya -September 24, 2023

OMG are you desi? That ddlj post got me lol
Alas, I am not. What I am is a raging, wild, unrestrained Bollywood fan. I mean I LOVE Indian cinema. I think it’s freakin beautiful and fabulous and makes my heart beat out of my chest. I go to see Bollywood movies in theaters all the time with my husband. We are each a fan of a different Khan. For him, Salman Khan is THE MAN. (“I’m here to see Salman Khan kick someone in the face” is a direct quote.) For me, it’s SRK all the way. I have seen so many of his movies. My girls and I went to see JAWAN in theaters recently and I started crying. I know the man is old enough to be my father but I DO NOT CARE. Men of humanity take notes. That is how it’s done. That is how everything is done.
My husband and I also hosted a huge viewing party for Bahubali 1 and 2…
But yeah no, I believe the most correct term for my ethnicity is “multi-racial.” Ethnically Arab and European.

Same anon that brought up Klaus Kinski.
I guess I am sharing all this because I noticed you reblogged a Werner Herzog quote. Coincidentally, I was watching his Nosferatu the Vampyre work starring Klaus Kinski and Isabelle Adjani, and I couldn’t help but study the two actors’ and the director’s birth charts. Interesting how their nodal influences showcase themselves through vampire concepts and such. Herzog has a lot of lunar nakshatra placements + Magha Venus-Rahu + Shatabhisha Ketu (assuming his birth time I accurate). Kinski has Ardra Rahu, and Adjani has Ardra Sun + Mula Rahu. I’m sure other planetary placements may be prominent in vampiric, illusionary films, but I mainly observe strong nodal influences in such works (example: The Twilight Saga series).
On a side note: of course, curiosity is always the cause of finding out controversial information about these sort of people… I can’t say I regret learning about Kinski’s horrific behavior or Adjani’s warped views. At least I know now! Speaking of Isabella Adjani- I realized she was romantically linked to Daniel Day-Lewis (an Ashwini Moon native) for 6 years. The magnetism between two Nodal people is undeniable.
let me add some random bollywood gossip hehe
All of these 3 stunning gorgeous women share striking resemblance with each other and they're all exes of actor Salman Khan lmao, I guess he really has a type
after his relationship with aishwarya rai ended, he launched an actress who looks just like her
her name is Sneha Ullal and unfortunately due to her struggles with her illness, she never found much success in cinema

Top 10 Comfort Films
Tagged by the sweetest @simplypearing 🤍
Dillagi (1999) - Starring my beloved Deols and loveliest Urmila. This film has it all - action, romance, drama, angst - with a sweet family in the middle of it. Zohra Sehgal's character was the cutest.
Yes Boss (1997) - My childhood favorite film starring my absolute favorites (and parents). I've watched this so many times I've lost count. Seema & Rahul were flawed yet good people stuck in bad situations whom you rooted for. SRK & Juhi had flawless chemistry as always. The soundtrack is forever iconic.
Jab We Met (2007) - In my opinion, as close to perfect as a film can get. Still feels fresh after all these years and I can never get tired of watching it.
Just Married (2007) - If this film only has one fan, it's me. I think it's a realistic portrayal of a couple who had an arranged marriage and how they get used to each other. Fardeen & Esha were really sweet and loveable. I also liked the other couples and how all the characters interacted with each other. If I skim this film, I end up watching the whole thing lol.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) - One of my absolute favorites. I can never get tired of it. Iconic. Legendary. I always notice something new with every rewatch. Amarendra & Devasena are the pinnacle of romance, period.
Duplicate (1998) - Another all time family favorite. This film gave us himbo AND fuckboy SRK, it needs to be appreciated more. Also the most gorgeous ladies, Juhi & Sonali along with the loveable Farida Jalal. Awesome soundtrack and great chemistry between my parents. My sister & I can quote this film by heart and Juhi's comedic scenes are iconic.
Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994) - I've watched this film so many times in my childhood. I loved Madhuri & Salman's cute, playful chemistry. Renuka Shahane was adorable and it's always nice seeing Mohnish Bahl not playing a villain for once. I'm a sucker for sappy family centric dramas.
Seventeen Again (2000) - I've been a huge fan of the Mowrys since childhood and this film is super fun with a great (sadly unreleased) soundtrack.
The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003) - This film is so iconic and I can never get tired of it. It brings me back to my middle school days. I definitely prefer it over the show, tbh. Paolo was cute, idc what anyone says!
Dosti: Friends Forever (2005) - THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES. I just want to give a shoutout to Bobby’s stylist because I was living for his colorful, tacky shirts. Him & Akshay had great chemistry and you can truly see how much they loved each other and how strong their bond was. My favorites Kareena & Juhi are in this as well and the soundtrack is super nostalgic for me.
Tagging: @shahrukh-khan @singinprincess @nowordsareneeded @goblinsbriide @curryaboo @theinfinitedivides @bloop-monster @stonefruitsupremacy and anyone else who would like to do it! You can say I tagged you!

the 'who is don' part i believe is a quote from the movie Partner (the one with actors Govinda and Salman Khan) because of a character called chota don (trans. little mob boss) who's catchphrase is litterally 'who is don'.
It's like if in english a dude was called Boss, right?

read my review below (may contain spoiler):
if you’re a Bollywood fan, this one does not need introduction! it was iconic when it released, and still, it’s got this legendary status that Bollywood buffs hold onto, singing along to the songs, quoting lines, and swooning over those flashy ‘90s romance vibes. watching it now, though, brings out a whole mixed bag of feels—like both nostalgia and a little bit of frustration. first off, yes, those songs are an earworm. every. single. one. they’re catchy, playful, emotional; I can’t help but sing along to “Tum paas aaye, yun muskuraaye…” (thank you, Jugal Hansraj, for crafting a tune that sticks in everyone's head like glue). the music in this movie is like its own character, playing with my emotions, nudging me to dance, or just stare dreamily out the window. and the whole college scene? well, it’s hilariously, unabashedly colourful and over-the-top. that whole early “friendship bracelet” vibe? so ‘90s, so extra, but honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. now, as much as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai has that Bollywood magic, I’ve gotta say, the story has its… let’s call them quirks. I mean, there’s a strong undercurrent of “friendzone syndrome” that practically demands a double take.
so, Rahul doesn’t notice Anjali until she goes from masc-girl to fem-girl? Really? I mean, why can’t tomboy Anjali, cool, sporty and real, just be lovable as she is? and while we’re on it, the movie’s got a bit of that “oh, you can only be lovable if you’re girly” trope, which is like, ugh. c’mon, Bollywood, tomboys deserve love too! don’t get me wrong, it’s a heartfelt, feel-good family movie, with big emotions on full display. one minute, I’m rolling my eyes at the predictability, and the next, I’m genuinely swept up in the romance, laughing at the cheeky moments and tearing up at the “big speeches.” it’s pure Bollywood, packed with drama, sentimentality, and more “movie magic” than I can shake a friendship bracelet at. But still, that message about love and appearances kind of lingers in the back of my mind, like, really? this is what we’re teaching the audience, especially the kids? for all its ups and downs, there’s no denying that Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is a movie that leaves an impact. it’s fun, it’s ridiculous, it’s emotional, and it’s got a certain timelessness to it that makes it feel special despite its dated ideas. I feel like I'm part of the world on screen, swept up in the characters’ highs and lows, singing along, and reliving the ‘90s magic all over again.

[ad_1] Salman Khan reportedly received another threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which demanded that the Bollywood actor should either visit a temple and apologise for allegedly killing a black buck or pay ₹5 crore. The Mumbai Police Traffic Control unit received a message on Monday from an individual claiming to be gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, threatening that Salman Khan would be killed if he failed to comply with certain demands. “If Salman Khan wants to stay alive, he should go to our (Bishnoi community) temple and apologise or pay ₹5 crore. If he does not do so, we will kill him; our gang is still active,” the message said. The Police are probing the origin of the threat message and have beefed up security measures for Salman Khan, sources said, adding police are also checking if the message is linked to Lawrence Bishnoi, who is in jail on various charges, including attempted murder and extortion. “In the case of a threat to Actor Salman Khan, the process of registering the case is underway at Worli Police Station. The number from which the message came is being traced,” news agency ANI quoted the Mumbai Police as saying. Past death threats received by Salman Khan Last month, the Bollywood superstar received a death threat along with demand to pay up ₹2 crore, prompting police to launch a probe and arrest a resident of Mumbai’s Bandra on October 30. The Mumbai Traffic Police October 29 received an anonymous message wherein the sender threatened to kill the 58-year-old actor if he did not pay up ₹2 crore. The Worli police registered a case against the unidentified person and launched an investigation. The next day, the police arrested a man, identified as Azam Mohammed Mustafa, a resident of Bandra (East), for allegedly issuing the latest death threat to Salman Khan and demanding ₹2 crore from him. Salman Khan resides at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra (West), a posh locality of Mumbai, where two motorbike-borne assailants had opened fire in April. Last month, the Mumbai traffic police’s WhatsApp helpline desk had received a threat message demanding ₹5 crore from the actor. The police had then arrested a man from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand in connection with the threat message. In another case last month, the Mumbai Police arrested a man from Noida in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly issuing a death threat to Salman Khan and NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique, whose father Baba Siddique, was shot dead by three gunmen on October 12 in Bandra (East). Notably, Salman Khan had earlier received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Suspected members of the dreaded gang had opened fire outside the actor’s Bandra home in April this year. A few months back, the Navi Mumbai police uncovered a plot by the Bishnoi gang to kill Salman Khan after which his security was stepped up. [ad_2] Source link

★Karan Johar is keen on having Salman Khan on the show. He is already in talks with the superstar. While things might fall in place, the team is locking another actor to appear with him on the show. The idea is to end the season with a bang and what better than ‘Tiger 3’ star to do it?.

I think to take your shirt off, you need to have a great body and more than that, confidence and attitude. It's all related. A great body equals confidence, and confidence equals attitude. And when you put all three together, you get a Salman Khan! And that's not me. Riteish Deshmukh

Decoding Ira Khan’s red-gold reception outfit with Monali Roy: 7 Months, 300 hours and more
Ira Khan, daughter of renowned actor Aamir Khan, celebrated her wedding reception on January 13 at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai.
The wedding of Aamir Khan's daughter Ira Khan and fitness trainer Nupur Shikhare continues to captivate, with the stunning red and gold lehenga worn by Ira at her reception, stealing the spotlight. This intricate piece, a collaboration between Ira and Sereia Design Studio by Monali Roy, wasn't just a stunning choice, it was a labour of love seven months in the making.
Ira's lehenga embraced traditional elements with a contemporary twist. The heavily embellished lehenga, paired with a modern blouse and a flowing georgette dupatta, reflected her desire for a unique bridal look. A report by News18 quoted designer Monali Roy describing Ira as "patient and understanding," and actively involved in the design process.
She asserted, “Ira wanted the traditional lehenga silhouette with a more modern blouse cut. Overall we took seven months to plan and execute the piece. More than 300 hours of labour went into producing the lehenga.” The report also stated that designed on pure raw silk, the custom shade of red complemented the intricate gold embroidery, featuring sequins, kardana, and traditional zardozi techniques.
Sereia Design Studio also designed three additional outfits for Ira's wedding festivities. The teal embroidered velvet blouse and draped dhoti set for the signing ceremony, the floor-length ivory thread work and pearl embroidered dress for the mehendi, and the gorgeous blue velvet lehenga with hooded cape for the sangeet showcased Ira's diverse and captivating style.
