"Mattie, m'said I'm good!" Sal was annoyed and how could he not be? It was ridiculous that he had actually broken his ankle during dance practice and now he had to deal with Mattie practically lunging for him every time he got up. He liked attention, he liked being fussed over when it was on his terms. This wasn't on his terms.

The hybrid scrunched up his face, ignoring the surge of pain when he gently placed his foot down on the floor and away from the stupid fluffy pillows Mattie had insisted he rested his foot on. "I'm fine, I just need to explode and then maybe it'll get fixed! 'Sides, you know that Mystique won't take it well that I'm out of action." She definitely wouldn't and it almost made Sal feel sick to imagine her reaction after she came back from her trip...

But exploding was risky since Sal wasn't exactly the best at it yet. It seemed that he still only did it when he really needed to defend himself. Well, maybe it counted if Sal had to deal with Mattie smothering him and how annoying the rest of the Brotherhood was now that he couldn't run away from any of them. "Oh please, both of us know by now that no one can help anyone get through shit." He was bored! And hungry! And sore! "I'm going to be such a fat fuck after this..."
